"Behind the port, in the antique dealer neighbourhood, a disciple of Yves Camdeborde is at the helm of this friendly wine bar. The chef prepares lovely Mediterranean sharing plates, concocted with ultra-fresh produce. It is delicious and hearty, and the wallet doesn't take too heavy a hit. A hundred or so lively wines feature on the list, also at reasonable prices. Open all day from noon (no reservations taken)." - Michelin Inspector

Our first meal in Nice, and the most memorable one. Every single item was amazing, especially the razor clams. We were lucky to have arrived slightly earlier than usual mealtimes (around 1830hrs), by 1900-1930 the whole restaurant was packed! I will revisit here again and again, when I visit Nice.

Best spot I found in Nice with amazing food. We tried pork belly, razor calm, sardine, and zucchini flowers tempura. The sauce from razor clam is perfect with bread 😋 Also the staff served us was super nice and kind. He gave good suggestions on wines. Apparently they change menus/seasonal food, so will definitely come back if I have a chance.

This was the first restaurant we went to on our first day in Nice, all thanks to the Michelin guide. It was a bit far from our hotel, but the journey was worth it. From the staffs that greeted us to the food, everything was perfect. It’s a small restaurant, but produces really good tasting food. All the waiters are friendly and jovial, with Leo who speaks english and able to explain the food and recommendations. Overall we loved the pork & octopus, and also barbajuan was so tasty! Thank you for the excellent experience, please keep it up and we hope to visit you again one day.

This was actually our first meal in Nice, and it turned out to be such a great start to our trip! We had seen some recommendations before coming, so we decided to give it a try—and we were so glad we did. The restaurant isn’t in the busiest touristy area, but tucked away in a quieter little street with a nice local view of the buildings around. The food, though, was absolutely amazing—every single dish we ordered was delicious, and the service was both super friendly and very fast. We ordered around five dishes, and they came out almost all at once, without any long wait (though to be fair, it wasn’t too crowded when we visited). The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was spot on, and we especially loved the pork belly and the octopus—they were cooked perfectly. Honestly, this was one of those meals where everything just felt right. We enjoyed it so much that we’re even considering going back before we leave Nice. Highly recommend!

The best meal I had in the while French riviera. I wish I could imprint the flavour of the apricots dessert in my brain forever. Service excellent and fast too despite the crowd. 100000/10

The service, food and drinks were phenomenal. The pork belly might be one of the best things I’ve had. Lovely lovely staff and a gorgeous little spot. Pallet Truck (so sorry if I got that wrong) is a legend!

As we wandered down from Castle Hill, still buzzing from the views, we stumbled upon Rouge—and we’re so glad we did. Tucked just off the main path, it felt like one of those rare finds that you almost want to keep to yourself. From the moment we stepped in, we felt at ease. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with just the right mix of style and comfort. It’s elegant but unpretentious—exactly the kind of place you want to unwind after a day of exploring. Now let’s talk about the food and wine—because wow. Every dish we tried was fresh, seasonal, and full of flavor. Beautifully presented, clearly made with care, and honestly some of the best meals we had in Nice. The prices felt more than fair for the quality, though we’d say it leans toward the higher end depending on your budget—but absolutely worth it. The wine list was another highlight. You can tell they really know and love their wines. We asked for a recommendation, and the staff were happy to guide us to the perfect pairing. At one point, we even overheard another guest jotting down the name of a bottle to find back home—always a good sign! And truly, the team at Rouge made the experience even better. Friendly, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming—no stuffy vibe, just great hospitality. Whether you’re in for a glass of wine or a full dinner, they make you feel like you belong. Rouge quickly became our favorite spot in the city. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel connected to where you are. If you’re in Nice, don’t miss it—it’s more than a meal, it’s a memory. ★★★★★ Location ★★★★★ Food ★★★★★ Service ★★★★★ Atmosphere ★★★★★ Value for money ★★★★★ Overall experience

Lovely bar not very from the promenade. The food is the highlight here. I had the best octopus and pork of my Nice trip here. No doubt about it. The presentation of the dishes is noteworthy. Do try this place out if you are not very particular about eating all the meals at promenade :)
