Player One Arcade Pub Opening on Buford Highway | Eater Atlanta

"Soon to open somewhere along Buford Highway just north of the perimeter, Player One Arcade Pub is being launched by Atlanta-based Player One Arcade Services; owners Nick Mizgala and Angela Pratt Mizgala say they're close to finalizing the property. Details are sketchy, but once open they plan to offer vintage arcade games such as Street Fighter and Ms. Pac-Man, beer, and food that can easily be eaten while playing—think sliders—because they intend to have a kitchen serving their own food rather than rely on pop-up restaurants or bar snacks. Pratt Mizgala says, “We are breaking away from the game bar template,” explaining that when people get “a little drunk and hungry” they often have to leave to get a meal. The couple got started in the vintage arcade game repair business in 2015 after Avondale Estates comic shop and bar My Parents’ Basement hired them to create a Nintendo cabinet and a Digdug Multicade, and they also rent games to other bars and events around town." - Beth McKibben

This Round 1 is located in a mall that has less than 3 restaurants in its food court and has almost no store left inside. The mall is extremely dead, rotting away and even the local “pop up” stores don’t seem to be able to remain. The round 1 itself is also showing signs of decay or effects from what it’s attached to. The temperature inside was very warm, a giveaway sign that the air conditioning is not performing as it should be or is set lower by management to budget. This makes it difficult to remain for a longer periods. Impossible to play the high activity rhythm games without bringing a personal fan. It seemed like they were bringing in new machines which is a good sign but may be too little too late for this location. The bathrooms here are rough, the men’s room toilet seats seemed as if they had all been sanded down and were not smooth at all. My partner stated the women’s room was in complete disarray but said the toilet seats them self were not altered like the men’s. Overall this location is very open, yet empty. It does not provide the ideal round 1 environment and I recommend going to the Lancaster location instead.

This was our first time visiting Round 1, and we were really impressed! The place is huge and has so much to do for both kids and adults — from bowling and arcade games to claw machines, karaoke rooms, pool tables, and even food. You can easily spend two to three hours here (like we did!) and completely lose track of time. We also had the pleasure of meeting Scott (I believe he was a manager), and he was amazing! So friendly, energetic, and charismatic. He helped us with our card and even gave us a courtesy game, which made our night. It’s rare to meet someone who genuinely makes your experience better, but Scott did exactly that. We had a great time and will definitely be back — highly recommend Round 1 for a fun family outing or even a casual night out! **My only negative: The bathrooms, I used the familyb athroom because the women's was being cleaned. It was smelly and sticky and not cleaned very well. My boy's said the men's bathroom was just as bad, I would suggest giving the bathrooms a major cleaning and hourly checks.

This indoor attraction offers an exceptional experience for individuals aged five and above. I have personally enjoyed my visits, both with my family and with my significant other, consistently finding it to be an exciting venue. Our most recent visit, celebrating my son's 11th birthday, was a resounding success, with all participants thoroughly enjoying the bowling and arcade facilities. The culinary offerings are commendable, and I particularly appreciate the diverse menu selections catering to both vegan and pescetarian preferences. Despite a busy evening on October 11th, 2025, due to staffing shortages, I wish to commend the dedicated team who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and commitment. Their diligent efforts ensured that every customer received excellent service, despite the challenging circumstances. While I am an external observer, I believe their outstanding performance, including that of the security personnel, warrants formal recognition. Their work was truly exemplary.

SO much on offer for everyone, and the staff was SO friendly too! My fiancé and I had a blast playing the plethora of crane machines, and some of them were super tricky! You could easily spend a game card in an hour, so be sure to bring plenty of funds haha!

I Was excited to take my niece for her birthday tonight. We went to the Exton location, very clean, and right off the highway. Unfortunately I left a little bit disappointed in round 1. Can’t complain about the arcade games they all looked fun but most seemed over priced. We bought cards for 57$ from the machine. But it doesn’t give change if you use cash. That seems outright scammy. So we paid technically 60$ for 330 points. But it’s supposed to be 55$ plus a 2$ card activation fee. To make a long story short it’s about 0.17 cents per point at that rate (different amounts gives different discounts) so the crane games are my issue my niece dropped her first 330 points into cranes and didn’t win a thing. Not due to skill, but due to those machines being set up the way they are. I watched her pick up the same couple of dolls multiple times and I’m talking SOLID pickups. I even had quite a few myself. And every time as soon as the crane would move back to the slot with the item like as soon as it went to move the doll would slip right out of the grabbers.. just felt very un fair. Coming from 33 yrs experience on crane games. I played quite a few same with niece and it was every single one. But last thing David was very helpful and super nice guy.

I visited round 1 for a playdate with my children and friend. We went there on 11/22/25. It was as to be expected, pricey and overwhelming with the crowd. Not a problem, but there was an employee who was very unpleasant. Name is Shannon March. I guess now they call over the intercom when your food is ready but when they called us we didn’t hear it. Between the loud people, screaming kids, what sounded like a faulty intercom, we didn’t hear it. Shannon proceeded to scream across the room from behind the register in a loud and rude way to come get our order. I went up the for a second order and I asked do I need to stand here because y’all are screaming across the room. Shannon replies in a rude way again YESS!!!! Then proceeded to talk about it to his coworkers in an angry way. Not sure if I want to spend my money in a place where there’s a manager who treats his customers like that. Other than that it was a fun day as always.

A great place to spend your day at the location. Greta parking space since it is in mall. Food selections are good , can do beer at the bowling alley. Lot of arcade game selection and suitable for various age. Clean , well maintained gaming area.
