Bowling, Burgers, and Beer Join the Lineup at Center City’s New Mall | Eater Philly

"Set on the third floor of the mall in what’s being called the entertainment zone, Round One is a chain of entertainment venues signed on for the upcoming Fashion District Philadelphia and is slated to open with the mall in September; this will be the third Round One in Pennsylvania, joining locations in Exton Square Mall and in Erie. I expect it to offer bowling, pool tables, ping pong tables, arcade games, and karaoke, along with food and drink; based on other locations it's safe to expect bar fare like pizza, burgers, and wings, and to drink: beer, wine, and soju- and sake-mixed drinks, which makes sense once you know Round One’s parent company is based in Japan." - Rachel Vigoda

I am not one to leave bad reviews but this one is quite necessary! I booked a party here for my 7 year old, online my original time slot was available but they called me a day later saying if i can push my time back or book for another day, i pushed the time back. We rented for 3 hours, a lot of us arrived a half hour before the time and others exactly at the reservation time and our room wasn’t even ready, previous party was still there and room had to be set up. After that we paid our remaining balance and finally got our room. I asked for our food to come out at 7:30 , only some food came out on time and others later and arrived cold. Not only that, I didn’t receive the amount of food that was covered with our reservation, we told them this and they said we did. We did not. Then they gave us stickers for each kid to get ice cream and when we went to get the ice cream we were told that we couldn’t get them because our reservation time was up (it was like 1-3 mins after the reservation time). We didn’t have a host and if we needed help with something we had to go look for an associate or stand in line at the guest services. For $1600+ it was not worth it. Customer service sucked, i stood in line with the kids to get bowling shoes and it was literally one person in front of me, when it was my turn, it took them about 5 mins to ask me what i needed. I was being ignored at first. I hated the experience really bad and this place needs to do better if they’re going to charge rent for parties.

I’ve been a longtime customer since 2021. I recommended family, friends, and even had parties and had students go for a trip here when I was a teacher. But today for my friends’ birthday he had forgotten his fanny pack and plushies. He already left the store around 5 pm and came back around 5:37 looking for his belongings. Thankfully one of my friends saw a guy holding my friend’s fanny pack and said he was going to bring it to lost and found. His plushies were stolen as I recalled a lady holding the exact same prizes I won for him but I initially thought it was a coincidence. We brought our concerns to the staff and they were kind and redirected us to the security. By this time it’s 5:45 ish and the security only looked at footage from the past 30 minutes and said he saw nothing. But he had left way longer than 30 minutes so we urged him to look again, but the security said it was my friend’s fault for losing his belongings and he can’t do anything to help. He could’ve helped and look at the footage at the RIGHT time but he dismissed us and end up not doing his job. My friend group left extremely upset because we spent so much money trying to win these prizes. Now to think about it we do have pictures of him with the plushies before it was stolen. I wished the security guy would genuinely help instead of being dismissive and blaming us.

Round One’s a blast!! had a great time there with friends last visit. If you haven’t been, it’s worth checking out for the classic Japanese arcade fighters and solid mix of side games. Definitely worth a few quarters.

Google
It's ok. A lot of the machines are broken, the bar is understaffed. The food is right next to the shoe rental place, I avoided ordering because I'm sure there's contamination with the antimicrobial spray they use for the shoes. The games that were working were fun and varied though.

Had a wonderful time on 12/13/24 around 4 to 6pm. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Bowling cashier/supervisor also went above and beyond in customer service. It’s a great compliment before or after a movie or any other time. I will be a repeat customer with my 6 year old son.

Google
(Karaoke) The karaoke is between the food area and bowling. I wouldn’t have found it without asking. The staff pretty much would have left me to be lost by myself but another staff member informed her that she should show me where it is. The remote control does not exist in the room so you spend time downloading the app and then making a user name, wasting time. The mic is old and the speakers are like boombox speakers from 2001. The Round1 of Japan are wildly different in the karaoke area. It was so disappointing. Also, the room was so cold! The thermostat was set to 53, why! (It was 60 degrees out!)

Google
It's a big fun arcade with a bunch of rigged claw machines, 😆 The fam and I enjoy it here. There's a variety of games, new and old school. Plenty of space. I love the photo booths and the scary games. Bathroom could be tended to a bit more and we haven't tried the food yet, but it seems like they are always busy serving.

Anthony G.

Google
If I could give negative stars I would. Their kiosk took my money and the service workers tried saying my order for my food never went through when my bank statement/bank app clearly said otherwise. Which I showed them. They said they never received payment. Now I’m out $20. Staff was rude as hell over the ordeal. Never again.

Yelp
The service for mechanic being available is reasonable on this busy Saturday. Seems it can be an interesting but tiring job too. Thank you for doing it! There are new items advertised that I really wanted but the worker I spoke with didn't know how to make them, they only allow orders on the kiosk, and the kiosk didn't have the new items. I tried to tell the service desk about the missing items so that the food workers can just simply say if this location doesn't offer the new items yet rather than tell me to keep looking at the kiosk and rather than have a mini physical billboard showing. One of the workers assumed I didn't want to wait in line and I wasn't trying to order food at the game desk. I was just trying to let someone else know besides the one food worker I spoke with because the food worker didn't have access to taking notes or calling someone up to make note of the issue or to even know to say that they did not have access to add to the menu electronically (whether that is actually true or not lol). There needs to be a better system for people who try to give honest feedback to help things run more smoothly for relative anomalies like this. This Round 1 is convenient and I can understand them selling out of a figure I wanted but some of this other stuff , especially with the notification I offered, could've been handled better. I like Round 1 more than Dave and Buster's but I like other Round 1s more than this one. It is less likely I stop at this one unless it is on my way enough. With the parking hassle, needing to know which one entrance is open because sadly the mall is not doing well, makes for a kinda shaky experience. Sincerely, an interested customer that is probably annoying for trying to calmly point out a few problems in-person in brief but then writes these annoying reviews lol

Yelp
Great experience! Our school went for a field trip and the party coordinator, Kyree was absolutely amazing. He assisted us from booking throughout the entire field trip. He was super helpful and made our experience great.

Yelp
This Center City location is definitely my least favorite Round 1 locations. Paid parking and congested traffic is definitely not my favorite thing. With that being said, I barely goes to this Round 1 anyway. If you ever visit outside of Philly's Round 1 locations, you will see a significant difference in values. Especially when u compare loading $100 each at both locations. I loved the plushies claw machines, that's the reason why I loved Round 1. You definitely gets more for your buck when going to other Round 1.
google avatar

Ju L.

Yelp
Round1 continues to be on the decline. It hasn't even been 5 years since it opened and the place is falling apart. Many of the games are out of order. Sometimes, these games are permanently out of order, too. After going to Dave and Busters on Columbus Blvd recently, I can honestly say that 99.9% of the games there are working. The space is maximized for good games and is not packed with unnecessary claw machines that Round1 has. Dave and Busters have better customer service, too. Unfortunately, Round1 just doesn't do it for us anymore.
google avatar

Susan G.

Yelp
I visited this location primarily for the claw machines. Keep in mind that if you have food, you'll need to leave it outside the entrance. Many of the machines were out of order, and despite spending $50, we didn't win any plushies. The machines seem to be extremely rigged and it's quite difficult to win. Additionally, each game is pricey, costing 14 credits per try. I'm not sure if I'll return to this Round 1 location.
google avatar

Yelp
Need a multi-entertainment place in Philly? Then Round1 is your place. They have lots of claw machines where you can win plushes, toys, and other items. They have been pretty inclusive with stocking anime figures and BT21 characters. They also have racing video games, dance off/ challenger games, table pool, and a bowling alley. They also have a food station too. Overall a great place for a date spot and/or competitive play.

Yelp
Came in to have some fun with some friends and I found this one employee to be very helpful; I believe his name was Nasif. He was very friendly and made the experience better for us. I did ask him to help reset a lot of the plushies, due to them being stuck, and he was pretty chill about it. Employees at other round 1 would usually give off this impression that they're annoyed at you or something, but he was calm about it! He was also pretty helpful to the other people around there; he was going around, helping people if they were to ask him to reset something. Overall I had a wonderful experience, thanks to Nasif!

Dexter C.

Yelp
Pretty much scammed out of my money! Was given a broken bowling lane, told by the technician that all lanes were "a little broken," so we went to collect a refund. They refused to give it to us and lied about the working condition of the machines, gave us a "free round for the future," and a card to contact their manager. I contacted the manager multiple times and their corporate office and received no response. It isn't a bad place, but if you're going to intentionally sell people a faulty experience, pretend it isn't busted, and then refuse to give me my money back? I'll write my first review on Yelp for that crap.

Dominique J.

Yelp
Security guards high and underaged people are definitely allowed to order alcoholic drinks and security will not enforce the law because they're too busy flirting and trying to make friends with everyone that comes in. The female security guard seems to be on the autism spectrum. Blurting out random things that a normal person would not. Please don't mind her she needs help. She told my boyfriend I'm his sugar mama because she looked at our IDs and seen that I was 3 years older than him. So sad. Then she went to the bathroom and was on the toilet for like an hour and went back to front to makes jokes. As if she should be making jokes about anything other than her pathetic paycheck. Other than that have fun! Lol

Yelp
Rich was fantastic! He was very proactive about providing a great experience for our daughter's birthday party. He regularly checked in with us and actively looked for opportunities to make our experience a great one. We will definitely be back!

Julian S.

Yelp
Best Arcade I have been to the style is nice. The people are very nice because one of the plushies got stuck and I had to ask an employee for help and he kindly got it out for us

Breon W.

Yelp
Came here with my girl. Some family stole my bowling lane and notified staff but did nothing . I requested a refund and left . I will not be returning here.

Yelp
Came yesterday with my children to celebrate the youngest's birthday, had a great experience thanks to Nasif. Answered all of our questions and went above and beyond in helping us.

Yelp
Everyone knows bowling and drinking beer go together, well apparently not at Round 1. At 2:00 PM on Saturday, we rented a lane only to find out after we paid, the bartender didn't bother to show up for his shift. That was just the beginning of the debacle. After bowling a few frames, the ball return wasn't returning the bowling balls. So we grabbed a few off the rack and tossed them until there were about a half dozen caught in the return bin. We called the attendant who had to dive into the back of the alley and free up the gutter and we were back in business. That lasted until a pack of kids invaded us from the arcade and decided to go bowling and randomly picked up bowling balls from the rack and just indiscriminately threw them down the alley. Whosever lane it was didn't matter. They only stopped when one of them said "Don't throw down that lane, the bar is down blocking the pins." We thought we were done with that mess after they left; oh, we were wrong! After a few more frames the ball return again malfunctioned. At this point, we had enough! We must have grabbed almost a dozen bowling balls off the rack and tossed them down the lane. The attendant came back again, opened a panel in the floor, and noticed somehow a pin got tangled up in the return system and blocked all the bowling balls. We had enough, left, and found a nearby bar to have a good laugh.

Yelp
Good things are the central location and a huge selection of games. All types of games from standard arcade, shooters, music, rhythm, racing, etc. There is also bowling and other stuff. Unfortunately a lot of the games are shoddy or broken. Also, the price is extraordinary with most games being far too much unless you really want to play them. Its not very clean. The staff are okay. It's a bit of a let down and could be a lot nicer, in such a nice spot with so many games.
google avatar

Pete L.

Yelp
This is a cool arcade. Has decent retro and fun games. Prob the most selections of claw prize games. Whats's terrible is the service here. There is no one at the counter when you go early and you see the employees on the clock playing the games and not doing their jobs. Smh.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Some of the crane games kept glitching, staff would swipe and give me the credits to play but the crane would glitch again so they gave me the points back on the player card. It's all about luck and getting the angle right. I won a few plushies but spent about $80 on crane games and video games. Fun place but pricey. Overall it was fun, so a C+/B-, more for teens and young adults than children.
google avatar

Sebastien L.

Yelp
Went there yesterday evening with my friend and we had a blast we enjoyed a lit the crane machine and the arcades in general . Staff were very sweet and friendly . We also played pool and it was really awesome. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because we unfortunately haven't been able to play bowling at it was a long waiting period to have an alley

Yelp
Zoey was the best. Really made sure I felt comfortable and happy. I have invited everyone since. So grateful for her and her energy!

Yelp
Had some time to kill and was looking for things to do. Came across round1 and thought it looked like fun. Bowling, pool, arcade games and food! My friend and I got a loaded game card and started playing the games. The card wasn't too expensive but the games were about 10-12 credits each. There were a ton to choose from! Probably the most I had seen in an arcade, however, quite a large chunk were out of service :( the games that we could play were fun and we were there for about two hours. We racked up just enough tickets to get some cool prizes. I always love a good game so I would definitely be down to check it out again!
google avatar

Kenneth P.

Yelp
This place was all fine. My primary focus on this review is the arcade games, with a desire to win anything and everything. Perhaps I went on a bad day, but the claw games were a bit lackluster. The ones with the better prizes seems to be poorly arranged. Yes, I am aware that they need to be properly positioned to work and you can ask an employee to re-position a plush to improve your odds of winning. Usually at any other Round 1, I would happily ask an employee to help me out. Unfortunately here, there was not enough employees roaming the gaming floor for me to ask for help. I gave up after a few swipes/credits wasted. I then moved onto my favorite - the coin pusher game. This is where I clean up. I have patience and I'm willing to swipe and spend a lot on these. The problem here did not lie with the game at all. The problem was claiming all the bonus coins/chips/cards that fell out. I had to insert each chip and card individually. This literally took over 10 minutes because the machine that would help you count tickets would only accept one item at a time. I know it took over 10 minutes because my meter ran out. Other arcades I've been to simply just weigh the chips and have a barcode reader to scan the cards. This was one of the rare instances where modernization did not improve efficiency.

Yelp
What was originally meant to be a quick few rounds of bowling turned into so much more! Round1 is a clean, multi-entertainment facility offering a wide range of indoor fun and activities such as bowling, arcade games, billiards, and more. After a last-minute change of plans, my partner and I had some time to kill and were looking for things to do nearby. We were deciding between a quick few rounds of bowling or watching a movie next door, and ultimately decided on bowling. As with most bowling alleys, you can book lanes by the game or by a certain amount of time. The rates were cheaper than what we were used to in NYC, but we didn't want to bowl for too long, so we decided to go for 90 minutes of unlimited bowling: $12 per person for bowling and $4 per person for shoe rentals. Note: the prices do change if you go later on in the day! Bowling was extremely fun, and the lanes were well oiled and absolutely immaculate. However, we did run into multiple technical issues throughout our 90 minutes of bowling (e.g., mis-scoring, no scoring, shuttle not releasing pins, shuttle stuck mid-air) which did dampen some of the fun. After calling the staff over several times to troubleshoot issues, we were finally moved to a different lane, and the rest of our time went by smoothly. We had initially planned on leaving immediately after bowling but figured that since we were here, we might as well hit the arcade games too. Needless to say, we had a blast. The prices were reasonable and there was a great selection of games to choose from. My only complaint is that some of the machines were faulty--they would eat the credits and not release any balls. Nevertheless, overall, Round1 was an extremely fun and exciting experience!
google avatar

Victor W.

Yelp
4 stars for clean and simple bowling experience The bowling is relatively cheap, you can book by number of games or by time. I think the time experience is better overall. I think it was $4 per person for shoe rental, and $11 per person for 90 minutes of unlimited bowling. The design is fun, the lanes are pristine. They clean the couches in between each patron. They spread bowlers with one lane in separate when possible (although I wish they were further spread out). There are hand sanitizer bottles by every ball pick up station and they have small, medium and large finger holes for different weighted balls. They have different themes for the bowling games, which may confuse older patrons (Had to show someone how to navigate that initial starting page to just pick a simple start). The rest of Round1 is full of games like DDR, fighting games, shooting games, crane games, Air hockey, Purikura photo booths, etc. Overall it's a fun experience, great hours, hand sanitizers available scattered around, everyone wears masks. Tips/Takeaways: -Great for bowling -They also have Pool, Karaoke which I did not try -Fun to just walk through even if you don't want to try any of the games
google avatar

Leydiana S.

Yelp
3 stars because the place was clean and they have a large selection of games. However, a lot of the machines were either out of service or would break down mid game. The staff was hard to find to ask for assistance with the machines. They're also over priced with their games ranging from 7-10 credits per machine. A $20 game card gives you 92 credits, they should really have package deals available especially when someone is buying multiple cards.
google avatar

Dee K.

Yelp
Came here to look around with my 9yo. While 4 seconds into the place I see this man running up to me. He didn't even identify himself and immediately asked for my ID. I laughed a bit since I'm well over 35 and pulled it out. He then said put your hands up while holding this device to scan over my body for whatever because again, he didn't identify himself. Now I've been to many, many establishments of entertainment for children and families and have never been treated or approached like this. This was a sign to not spend my money here and continue patronizing those other places. During our walk thru there were many games not working and cool games accepting digital cards to play. They have a small bar in the back, eatery options, bowling lanes and tables.

Kaleah S.

Yelp
My friends and I were visiting philly and wanted to try this place. we're all 18-19 year old girls and we were approached by a huge middle aged african american security guard who immediately began yelling at us to show him our IDs. understandable if the place was 21+ but I'm sure that wasn't the case so I asked him why? how old do we have to be? to which he got angry and kept screaming in my face (i'm 19, 5'1, 100 lbs) that i'm asking to many questions and I'm making him angry and I need to show him my ID or be escorted off the premises, all while i'm digging in my bag looking for the ID. at this point all my friends are getting upset so I just said never mind to this god awful customer service. That is not how you speak to potential paying customers, so I ask for a manager, to which the man standing next to him says is him. So I ask him is this how you let employees speak to customers? let alone small girls? and he got flustered and we left. horrible horrible experience. I'm sure the place would've been fun had we actually been able to go inside.
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
I never had a chance to visit any Round1 chains living in NY so I was a bit excited to come here when I came to Philly, as they're known for their cute plushies. It was a fun activity for my boyfriend and I during the day -- a good way to kill time and also just something to do during this pandemic. They have everyone wearing masks inside so it felt safe but of course, it's smart to bring hand sanitizer or wipes since the games are out for everyone to play/touch. There's a huge variety of games and their plushies were indeed very adorable. However, the claw machines with the plushies are so hard to win without asking the workers to readjust the position. Once we got someone to help us out, we were able to win some. Overall, I'm glad I went and had a great time.
google avatar

Anthony J.

Yelp
Can't rate the food because they weren't serving any food at 4pm on a Sunday. The games are over priced but the worst thing has to be the customer service...I traveled up from DC for my son's birthday they wouldn't help me with booking a reservation before we arrived even though I had 10 people on top of that I got there and you have to be patted and wanded like you're entering a club mind you I have 8 kids with me then they are rude as hell at customer service the sassy young man at the counter was clearly not concerned with me and my group trying to bowl and play video games he was too focused on the dispute he and the young lady he works with we're having over pouring out the others drink... don't waste your time going here if you have to do Round 1 try to go to Jersey as this place is the
google avatar

Yelp
Claw machines are super rigged. Drops the item to the side of the opening first. Other machines will literally shake the item until it falls off before moving to the drop location. Don't bother!
google avatar

Staci W.

Yelp
Good selection of games for everyone. Some machines weren't working and would just eat the credits. Would recommend turning the card machines for the games that are down. Bowling was fun but you're not allowed to bring drinks up to it which was annoying as we were trying to enjoy a drink with our games. DaMell and Miyah helped us move lanes to be closer to where our drinks could be so that we didn't have to continue to walk across the entire alley to have a sip of beer. They were extremely friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Doraemon T.

Yelp
Fun place in fashion district. Do you know the round one is actually from Japan? I want to try karaoke there next time
google avatar

Tamija W.

Yelp
My birthday weekend in Philly was great! Stop by Round1 because our reservations for Candytopia wasn't until 5:30pm. First time here and it was great , it's like a Dave and Busters or an updated Chuckie Cheese for all ages. The prices are typical for gaming places like this so be prepared to spend at least 50 bucks+. Food was OKAY. I didn't enjoy it much but couldn't expect much more because it's like fast food eating. Pizza, fries, hot dogs, chips, sodas, and flavored wings. Food for two was around $28 dollars we had ( 2sets of chicken tenders and fries, along side two slices of pizzas, 1 drink and 1 water) They also have an karaoke room, and bowling. I think it's a cool place. If you like Main Event, Dave and Busters, Chuckie Cheese, Bowling and Karaoke then this place Is for you (:
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
If I could give this establishment no stars, I honestly would. I'll let you know of the unprofessional nature of the management staff at the Philadelphia Round 1 location. I dined at this location and was met with inappropriate behavior and harassment from the bar management staff. I witnessed management yelling at staff in-front of customers and therefore, we reported it peacefully to a higher up in hopes that staff would be protected from any unfair blame or punishment. Not 5 minutes later, I was met with a confrontational and aggressive retort from said manager that I was "spreading lies" about his behavior of berating staff in-front of guests. Please consider taking your money elsewhere. Go to Dave n Busters instead, it's not that far away.

Koii V.

Yelp
Employees just chilling at the front desk chatting with each other and wouldn't budge to assist on any machines. They scoff when you try more than once. Don't bother coming. Every other round 1 does better even with minimal effort.
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
So excited of Round1's growth and expansion in the east coast! They were giving out T-shirt's for the first 200 people to enter and purchase a card, but unfortunately I missed it by just a little bit an hour after their opening. It is located in the old Gallery or the new Fashion District in Philadelphia! They have a good variety of games that are classic arcade, games you would see at Dave and busters as well as the new Japanese games and crane games as well! They have a normal game card that you can purchase for $2 and an annual membership card that you can purchase for $6 a year and you can put different amount increments on the card for some small benefits. This is a great addition for the fashion district and brings competition to Dave and busters, but with a lot more options since they have bowling and karaoke as well!
google avatar

Isaac A.

Yelp
Cool place! Like a local Dave and busters. Did pool while we waited for bowling to open up. The pool price point is awesome! It's a great way to spend some time with friends. The bowling was standard. Prices were slightly high for my tastes. The annoying thing was their system/computer glitches. The system to secure a lane went down so we waited for that to boot back up (more than 10 mins). And when bowling it, the system to input our names and show scores glitched several times and buttons would freeze or lock up. All things that probably get better with time as they recently

Yelp
First time here & we came on a Saturday night! Not as packed as I'd thought it was going to be. The bar's line is always long tho. We got here around 7:30-8pm, the line for drinks doesn't seem to move one bit. Slow af.... HOWEVER, when you get to the front, the bartender (Carmella) is very nice. Also ran into the manager, Chris. He's been a sweetheart during our whole time here. Shawn was also very nice! Thumbs down for bar's slowness but thumbs up for customer service! Thanks for a good time :)

Yelp
If I could give this 0 star I most certainly would've! From the time I booked my reservation for a birthday party for today it was a mess. I got here 30 minutes early because I was afraid of any hiccups. Surprisingly they had my party ready. The original manager (Harry) I spoke to and the young lady Tatiana was very nice and professional. They accommodated my party. Then things went downhill, the pizza was nasty. The sodas were flat AND hot!?!? Like how do y'all feel comfortable serving hot drinks with hot food?!? I told Tatiana that the drinks were flat and nasty. She brung out more juice. I decided to go downstairs to get me a cold drink to bring back to this place. I was greeted by the security guard who told us that we couldn't bring outside food and drinks into the place. He then asked Dee (another manager) to come over. I explained that i paid for a party and already had food and drinks. I explained to her that the drinks were hot bc the ice machine was broke. She very nastily said everything is fixed. The ice machine is fixed, you can get a cold drink and ice cream if we wanted. So I'm like okay Fine no food. My sister put our Cinnabons and sodas in the car. Since Dee said the ice machines and everything was fixed I wanted them to give my tables cold beverages. I get to the front and i start talking to another associate. He called the same manager Dee and the other manager Crysta walked up. Before I could say anything she's like "oh this girl? I already told you no food or drinks." I said "I'm grown!" "I paid for food and drinks here but as I stated my drinks are hot! Your ice machines were not fixed!" So now she's looking dumb and being even nastier. Crysta begins to say "it's fountain drinks how could it be hot?" I said "ma'am I tasted them it's hot!" Tatiana agreed with me! So now I'm waiting there and nobody's saying anything. Dee says to me I have to give them a minute to figure out how to accommodate me. Im trying not to cause a scene because really?!! Moments ago you were very nasty and adamant about these ice machines working. Now I gotta give you a minute to accommodate me after you made me get rid of my cold drink? You couldn't even drink the water. The crap tasted like pool water. So after waiting for 15 minutes. I walk back to the front. The manager Dee is like what's the problem you got ice. Tatiana explained to her there's no ice on my table. She has an attitude. Crysta comes out the back with a bag of ice. She has this weird smile and she's like "I just had to walk to 7-11 to get ice for you guys. I'm like okay. Wouldn't it have just been easier to allow your guest to just bring their drinks in?!? So I asked what was her name? She said Crysta. I asked what was Dee's name bc at this point I didn't know her name. She told me oh I'm not allowed to give out names. I'm like what kind of rule is that when Tatiana is wearing a name tag. She responds back and says that's to protect the identity of managers. At that point I had to laugh. I told them I'll be writing a review and calling corporate because it was a shit show..

Yelp
Round 1 is a pretty fun place with a mix of arcade games, bowling, karaoke, pool, and claw machines. They have everything that a child, teen, or an adult could ever wish for. There's karaoke, arcade games, a food court, and bowling. When you want to play here, you will have to purchase a card. I highly recommend the black card as it gives you bonus credits. Even if you won't come here often, the black card is worth it. The prices for everything, especially the tokens, are kinda pricey. If you're planning on purchasing your tokens, choose the bigger priced package, since they do add these bonus tokens in. I really like this arcade because of all the games that they have available and other things that you can do if you don't feel up for arcade games. They have different games that either give tickets or don't give tickets depending what it is and may range from the fighting/shooting games to just simply pure luck of hitting the jackpot. Most ticket games have all the tickets onto the game card you use to access the games. They provided billards, karaoke rooms, bowling alley, and they do have a bar that serves food and drinks. But my top reason for going there are for their claw games because they aren't the typical three clawed one, but the one or two clawed games. They are challenging in a sense that you simply don't grab the stuff animals, but have to use the claw to drag or even push down the prize too! The stuff animals are high quality and it's worth the money you spend if you know how to use the claw to your advantage. You can have the staff give you tips or even reset the positioning of the stuff animal of you are having trouble, especially if it gets stuck on its way down through the prize chute. This is the second Round 1 in the Philadelphia area and if you have to choose between this one and Exton chose this one, the staff and management are much better at this location. Just be advised that the game cards from the Exton location do not work here so you will have to get a new card. Overall a good arcade that is pricy, much better than the Exton location. I would say that due to the price it is better for adults than kids.

Yelp
This rating is directly proportional to the amount of games actually working in good condition at any given time. It's also proportional to the average staff attitude and customer service level on a given day. Round One as a whole offers a great amount of games and Japanese arcade imports, which really differentiates it from a D&B. However, when approximately 1/3 - 1/2 of these games are broken, you lose that advantage. Staff also seem generally complacent with these breakdowns, often giving a "shrug & sorry" response. Unfortunately this complacency extends to most customer interactions, barring a few great managers and the occasional associate. I understand the Philly location gets a lot of foot traffic in the mall and that COVID affects staffing. However, the Deptford R1 right over the bridge has similar conditions yet maintains their equipment and customer service etiquette much more efficiently (which is why we end up there 80% of the time now). I absolutely want the best for this location and think it could get there. Just focus on getting motivated folks who care about the equipment and environment on your team.

Yelp
This place is absolutely horrible. Waited two hours to bowl just for them to try and up charge me an extra $40. They advertised $11.00 an hour and I had three people total. They try to charge me $78 and said they couldn't do anything about it. Pay it or don't play is what the manager told us. Terrible service and will never ever go back and I hope no one else does.

Yelp
Workers aren't the most helpful, food is a bit pricey, but they have some good drink specials and this place is a pretty good time if you like games with friends.

Yelp
Trekked all the way from nyc to come here for the kid. While it's a plus to have a bowling alley with pinball machines. My general complaint is that the food kiosk clearly says free soda refills but then told that it's not at the service counter.

Yelp
My husband and decided to spend a few hours here after a movie next door at the AMC theater. The location was convenient and the new Fashion District mall is gorgeous. Bright, clean, and some fun art lines the walls. We downloaded their app, but found that we could not purchase a "membership" in app on non-Apple devices. This was easily remedied at the register. The cashier there was friendly and helpful. We purchased a membership, loaded our game card, and we were off to play. All the games are new, with some putting a modern twist on old classics like pinball, skeeball, and air hockey. We arrived around 6:30 PM and had dinner at the theater, but around 8:15 PM we were definitely getting thirsty. Too bad for us though, because despite not allowing any outside food or drinks, they cut off all food and beverage sales before 8 PM. They are open for four more hours until 12 AM, so I'm not sure how this is acceptable. We cleared off the rest of our game card and left around 9 PM. We definitely could have stayed much longer had we been able to hydrate. At that time, the mall area is closed and you are required go outside and around the building to re-enter the Jefferson train station, which we fully expected. We had fun, but the lack of beverages (can't even buy a bottle of water) really put a damper on things. We were only able to locate one bathroom, which was closed for cleaning for the majority of our time there. The children present were behaving like they would at a Dave & Busters, running and screaming without a parent in sight, but that's expected. They also did not enforce mask wearing at all.

Yelp
Don't have a party at this place. It is expensive and you do not get what you pay for. The staff is unprofessional and untrained. The food is nasty . They do not have food after 5pm and you can not bring food . A lot of Machines do not work and if they do , there is no prize in thew. If there is an emergency in the mall , they will not reimburse you for games or time that you did not use and will not give you another day to some back. I was there when the alarm went of and all the games went down for an hour and people were not allowed to be reimburse , even though they could not stay. It was horrible. The events Manager and General Manager do not know what they are doing and were often unavailable . Go to Dave and Busters . Round one is Ghetto. You might luck out and get a good day but there is no consistency.

Yelp
I would put zero if I could. I scheduled an celebratory outing for graduates of my organizations program with one of the staff several weeks in advance. When we arrived today we were told that the special, as well as the price we were told was no longer available. We were not given any notice of this in advance. We had 20-30 people come hoping to enjoy a fun day together and we're all told $11.99 would be their costs and then have it swept from under them. Completely unacceptable. Borderline bait and switch. Incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable for a business to operate like this.

Yelp
Round1 has so much potential to be the only entertainment spot you need. I came here for a friend's 30th birthday party. The intent was to bowl and grab some food and drinks. Our group waited over 2 hours for lanes, while nursing a pitcher of beer. We would have ordered more if the beer counter were capable of taking our order. Around 10pm, there was a frantic announcement that the kitchen and bar would be closed for 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, they announced that they would no longer be serving any food or drink all night. Well, no worries, we were finally situated at our lanes by then and happily pummeling heavy balls at the pins. (Side note, as a high school bowler, I LOVED that the balls were new and smooth and chip-free). There appeared to be prizes you could win for bowling different combos, but when we did and asked the staff about the prizes, they kept redirecting us to other staff who were equally clueless. For all the adults out there with a strong inner child, you could fall in love, if only they'd figure out how to streamline their operations and sufficiently train the staff. AND if you aren't going to serve food, don't make me throw my dinner leftovers out at the door (I'm clearly still not over this).

Yelp
Not gonna lie, Round1 is one of the best arcades I have ever went to. The game selection has a ton of variety of amazing arcade games(including ones from Japan!) Definitely recommend if you to have some fun in Philly!

Yelp
I hate that I had to rate this at all! first of all. I thought this was gonna be a great experience for me and my family but I was sadly mistake. not only was there no option for us to eat because the kitck was closed because of short staffing we weren't able to bring in any outside food after we paid 200 dollars to bowl. That was the kicker though the vending machines wasn't wrong so not only that we could feed our children we was even able to get them anything to drink and we had little children with us. What was supposed to be a fun family night turned out to be a terrible experience. for it to be in downtown Philadelphia I wouldn't recommend it and when I asked for a refund they told me No!
