I'm. From out of town but had seen a friend share this business. I just had a full bowl of gumbo for lunch since I was in the area but just for the morning. No regrets I am leaving full & happy bust gumbo I have had even when comparing to places I have been in the south.

Decided to try the new gumbo spot, and it absolutely did not disappoint! The portions are insane, the flavor/ spice was perfect. We were also pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat you get in one serving. The service was impeccable and the establishment is very clean. This has become a "go to" spot for sure!

This has got to be THE BEST jerk chicken on the west coast! Wow! It literally brought a tear to my eye it was so good! Make sure to get the greens also they were absolutely delicious (they have a vegetarian option too). I can’t wait to go back and try the gumbo! Run don’t walk to get a tasty meal you will think about all week.

Absolutely DELICIOUS!! My daughter ordered the Jerk Chicken and Collard Greens for our lunch today. So good! We will definitely order again.

The braised greens brought tears to my eyes they were so good. The chicken was so tender, so perfectly cooked. The jerk sauce was enticingly complex; sweet but savory spicy but delightfully spiced. One of the best meals I have EVER had, full stop. Ive been a chef for 15 years, eaten and worked in some of the best restaurants in the world, and what i experienced tonight is that rare sliver of perfection, Of talent and innovation, Of culture and of cutting edge. Truly something special to experience and rarefied in all aspects. Thank you Roux Boi for a life changing meal. The first of many to come.

Ordered the chicken sandwich and potato salad. Both were surprisingly complex and delicious. Guy at the window was friendly. The only seating here was benches outside so we took it to go since it was cold. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! Everyone in my group loved it.

Great vibes, great food, what more can you ask for? I took my family out for burger week and they exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try new and different food.

Where do I start... Flavor was amazing, portions were huge and there was so much meat! The staff is friendly and the place itself is nice and clean. This has become a regular spot for sure!

I've been looking for a spot for gumbo in Portland and Roux boi had that Fire gumbo and jerk chicken!! Definitely coming back

Fantastic spot! Great service, even better food. A very rare find with some vegan gumbo (but can still add all kinds of meats to it). Delicious jerk chicken was very tender and flavorful.

Amazing Gumbo!!! Everything you'd expect in outstanding gumbo, cooked just right and then add on a huge Dungeness crab leg! Big portions, Huge flavor, friendly employees, most highly recommended.

I've been passing by this place for months dreaming of jerk chicken and gumbo and now they're finally open! First time (on opening day) I tried the seafood gumbo over rice. A little pricey but worth it for the complex flavors with crab legs and shrimp to boot. As for the jerk chicken (also over rice), I had to wait a week to try it because I told my friend I'd wait for him to join me, the char on the chicken and the sauce didn't disappoint. We also got a side of yummy greens to add veggies to the mix. I hope they become a neighborhood staple and expand their menu when they get settled in! Did I mention that in addition to all this yummyness everyone who works there is super friendly and chill?!

Was walking in the neighborhood last weekend and saw Roux Boi, and was excited to try. I was able to grab some jerk thighs, greens and rice today. SO good! Sweet, just enough spice, perfectly cooked chicken, not too salty or smokey greens, perfect all around. Definitely check them out, I'm going to try more of the menu soon.

I placed my order on a cold and rainy night.. when I tell you this gumbo was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits!!!! Comfort food for the soul. The roux was perfectly seasoned .. great portion size, I should've saved half of my bowl for another day, but it was so good, I literally ate it all in one sitting!!!!! Highly recommend. I have been on the hunt for good gumbo for some time now and this is the real deal.

Food was amazing! The jerk chicken was tender, and the gumbo bowel was PLENTIFUL! The location is perfect and it's a cute, eye-catching business, I will definitely be returning
