Tiki Dive Bar Portside Lounge Is Closing, Citing ‘Spike in Crime’ in NOLA - Eater New Orleans

"Portside also opened not far from two Central City food hubs with a mission, Dryades Public Market and food incubator Roux Carre, both of which have since closed (and Casa Borrega just closed recently, in May)." - Clair Lorell

This is a culinary incubator. So basically about 6 chefs work out of this location serving everything from desert to Caribbean food. I dont want to comment on any particular vendor but they all seem to have decent food quality. Prices are normally around 10-15 per entree. Seating is an open air food court with the metallic seats. Although it is open you can stay dry if there is a drizzle but you would need to pack up if it rained hard. They normally have music or dj on evenings or weekends. It is very close to a blue bike receptacle as well as public transit. But there is also parking in the back.

I absolutely love this place. I drive 1.5 hours to the city just to get spicy Doubles from Trini Lisa (and I have her cell to call in advance) and to get the Taco fries salad from NOLA. It's very laid back and the owners are amazing!!!

I've been to this restaurant on many occasions. I am a native New Orleanian and find that the true Spirit of New Orleans is here. This restaurant embodies the culture, diversity and feel of the city. It is a blend of people, food and festivities (as was evident when I attended the Jamaican Festival last year.) What everyone is referring to was an "experiment on race to get people to start talking about the differences in people, and to have a dialogue about race. This was an experiment by a "pop-up vendor" who does not have permanent residency there. The restaurant itself is truly a culturally rich place to dance, wine & dine.

An absolutely amazing place to satisfy your culinary tastebuds. Variety of cuisine that you don't get at other restaurants. Everything from Chicken and Waffles, to Vegan taco salad, to seafood grilled cheese and more.
