"It’s not often we can confidently recommend a restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But Roux, a counter-service New Orleans-inspired spot in Hyde Park, is a solid choice for all three meals. The restaurant is large, bright, and perfect for getting some work done over coffee and beignets, a Sunday brunch filled with hot chicken and waffles, or a weeknight dinner of shrimp and creamy grits. The entire menu is available all day long, and there’s a pastry case up front full of great baked goods, like a gigantic cinnamon roll where each bite somehow tastes like the gooey center—which everyone knows is the best part." - Adrian Kane

We had breakfast here (naturally, as it's a breakfast place) and the food was great! They were pretty busy with just their one server Tamika on, but she was wonderful and super friendly!

Wow! I saw the reviews that the food was excellent; however we didn't find out. We were "greeted" by a woman that was scowling at something outside. We were seated and decided what we wanted. That was it. We sat there waiting for someone to offer coffee or to take our order. We sat for about 5-7 minutes and decided to leave. You might think it wasn't a long time but it is a Saturday morning in a tourist town. Many other places to go

The food was absolutely great. We went two mornings in a row. Both days we had Kela. I’ve been in customer service 25yrs & management for 15. She was wonderful. She remembered our order, was so welcoming, professional & provided all around A+ service!! We will be back on our return visit.

Gernada was a wonderful server. My meal was simple but delish!

Very slow service, the food seems cheap quality. It may have been better if I could have gotten butter or syrup with my waffle, but all the servers disappeared for 40 minutes

We had breakfast here while we stayed at the hotel Nov 15-18. They are open but just for breakfast. The servers were very friendly and the food was very good. Between us we tried most of the menu but really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. We felt like it was a little expensive, but good and convenient. Would definitely recommend if you are in the neighborhood.

Had the buffet breakfast - our check came in at $48 including taxes. For that we got a Bloody Mary, 2 x Apple Juices, at least 4 x Coffees, plus one to take out, croissandwiches stuffed with bacon egg and cheese, French toast, toast, syrup, bacon and country potatoes. There’s also a good range of sweet pastries and toasts, plus fresh fruit and yogurt. Absolutely fabulous service - we were really looked after.

My hotel package included a $50 certificate here, so I went with my sister for dinner. We ordered the Caesar salad, fried catfish with shrimp and grits, veggie pasta, and the seven layer cake. The salad was grilled and included fried cheese. I didn't like the cheese. It was burnt and salty. Otherwise, the rest of the salad was good. I really liked the catfish with the shrimp and grits. The catfish was fried perfectly and there was a lot of shrimp in all sizes. The grits were good. There were some cold pieces, but otherwise it was delicious. The hostess recommended the seven layer cake, and I'm glad she did because it was delicious. It was light with just the right sweetness. Though we enjoyed our meal, my sister and I discussed that there isn't a singular dish that sets Roux apart. I believe if this restaurant had a signature dish, there would be more people dining here.

Yelp
The food here is good but nothing special. You likely won't have to wait at all. Even during the holidays, there was no wait. No need for reservations. I think it's because people know it's overpriced. $20 for an extremely simple breakfast. You can get for $12-$15 somewhere else. It really was nothing special. I wish the breakfast had more bread options. I also felt like their potatoes were pre-made an rather bland. The service was great. The gentleman was very welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
Horrible food and service. They only do breakfast. It is in Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Bacon was fake and it took forever to get our food. Don't expect an hohorrible for basic eggs. 20 bucks for blah and 4.50 for hot tea/coffee skip it. Go to Stanley's by Jackson square.

Yelp
We had breakfast here on Saturday morning. It is located inside of a hotel but you don't need to stay at the hotel to eat here. I got the cathedral pancakes with pecan syrup and bananas foster topping. The pancakes were delicious. My only issue was the gigantic portion of pancakes since I could only eat half of it. We were here early in the morning and it was not busy.

Yelp
My husband insisted that we give this place a chance and I really tried to but the food was too pricey and had no flavor. If I'm paying $25 for a sandwich why do I have to put it together? Where is the sauce, avocado, dill...The atmosphere is amazing and our waiter was so sweet. A little more attention to flavor, presentation, and the little things can make this place really special.

Yelp
This is in the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It's only open for breakfast, pricey but delicious. Breakfast for every appetite. Waitperson is charming, efficient and busy

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel. Although our rooms did not come with breakfast coupons, we chose to eat breakfast here two mornings because it was convenient. One morning we had the buffet and one morning I ordered pecan pancakes. The buffet was $17.95 and included coffee, tea, juice. Our server told us we could have eggs cooked to order. We chose to do so. On the buffet was scrambled eggs, pastries, bagels, cereal, yogurt, grits with fixings, bacon, delicious sausage, fruit and french toast. The pecan pancakes I ordered the second morning were $14. It was a generous 3 pancakes with delicious pecans. I would eat breakfast here again. The service both mornings was excellent.

Yelp
Probably the worst restaurant in New Orleans. My friend had fried catfish that had a pretty significant "crunch" when she bit into it. I had the BBQ shrimp pasta which was terrible neither of us finished what we ordered. The service was excellent, but the empty restaurant should have been our biggest hint.
