Cute place, we dropped by here for wine today. Tastings are $14 and you get to choose 5 small glasses of wine, which was pretty good. My favorite was the Pinot Noir but the cherry cider was also good. Wine by the glass was also reasonable, like $7+. We enjoyed some of that on the patio - if you're doing a tasting, it has to be done indoors so the (bartendress?) can serve you. The staff there was very knowledgeable about the wine, too, and even suggested another nearby winery for us nearby, which we headed to after. The building seemed new and was very pretty, and they also have food, NA beverages, and chocolate for purchase.

Okay, I'll be the first to admit, wine isn't my thing, but that's why the almighty created the wine slushy! This was the only place out of 7-12 wine establishments visited to offer a wine slushy! Wonderful outdoor seating, awesome event tent with radiant heaters! Great service and superb tasting slushies! #sloshedonslushies.... (P.S. drink responsibly)

We came on a quiet and chilly Thursday afternoon. We were the only people in there the entire time, other than staff. Both staff members we met (the general manager and the wine club manager) were very friendly and engaging. We loved most everything we tried. Rove is usually our first stop on our wine trips and it's always a pleasant stop!

The Rove offers a stand-out tasting experience, especially if you go on a weekday afternoon, when the tourists aren't around. Yes, the wines are excellent. But the Rove's competitive advantage is also its staff. The afternoon of October 28th, two staffers walked me through a flight of wines. They offered insights about them in a friendly, conversational way. I'm not stupid when it comes to wines, but I'm unfamiliar with them (I'm a Pabst drinker). So I was glad for the chance to talk things over with them while sampling the wines. If you're not sure what you want, try the Connoisseur Flight. Some may consider it pricey (four glasses, $24). But it's a representative selection of Rove wines which will help you zero in on what you like. It led me to buy six bottles which my wife and friends will certainly enjoy on our next special occasion.

Beautiful winery! Not a big wine gal but I found their white wines to be quite enjoyable. Loved their spacious patio - we came at a time with not many people there and got to snag some cute pics!

The winery was gorgeous! The wine was light, and delicious. This is a great place to chill and share a bottle. It's about $10/glass, and a great big open space to sit and look out at the grape vines.

View is good, but only one cider and it's midddd although this is a wine place aka a winery so such is life lol View is great though!

Very beautiful setting, great service for how busy they were, and good wine!!! Even on a rainy day it was very nice

One of the most beautiful vineyards I was fortunate to visit while in Traverse City. There is a patio that looks out to the sunset over the vines, and they played live music for all to enjoy. I tried a few of the homemade chocolates form inside, and they were a terrific pairing for the wine. When I went, it was setup so that there was a long table with wines under an outdoor pavilion, and there wasn't a large selection. So, that was different, but it was towards the end of the evening, so that could have been why. Overall, wonderful experience with the music, sunset, patio, and drinks. The vineyard was beautiful to walk into and take pictures as well.

The Rove winery is a must stop just for the views itself. The wine is good also although I was disappointed that several of the ones I wanted to taste were out of stock. We still enjoyed a nice charcuterie tray with a couple glasses of wine on the terrace overlooking some beautiful views. I'd like to come back when they have live music in the evening and watch the sun set from here. I imagine it would be gorgeous.

Got ourselves a wine flight and the white was my favorite! The winery itself had immaculate views and it's one of the closer ones that are located near downtown Traverse City.

LOVE LOVE LOVE I could have stayed here all day. If there was an option for overnight accommodations, it would be a no brainer to stay here. The wine is delicious and everyone working there is able to answers questions and inform customers about their wines. They were personable, friendly, gave great local recommendations for dinner, etc. I cannot recommend Rove enough. We ended up bringing several bottles home and anticipate buying more online when we run out. We loved Rehianna! What a special place.

Five stars for the beautiful view and great service. I was a little underwhelmed with the Rove chartreuse board. Triscuits in a plastic to go box... I loved the olives and the fig jam but the meat and cheese offerings were just ok. Our wine sampling was also ok, I opted for the red and white combo but switched to Riesling from the Chardonnay. There is $1 up charge for any changes. Riesling was my favorite here so I was happy with that decision. Normally not a big deal but its not a reserve bottle or anything special so the charge just does not make sense. The Cab they poured was way too young and the Rose bland. We also got reprimended for walking down to the vineyard to take a picture. If thats your rule its understandable but a sign would be much better than chasing us down.

Every table outdoors has an incredible view. Also, if you haven't been to Traverse city before the wineries that take reservations are booked way in advance, and the non reservation wineries have 60-120 min waits if you decide to head down on a weekend. This place took reservations but they had spots available the weekend of. We ordered wine samplers and enjoyed the beautiful blue sky. The menu isn't overwhelming so we tried everything. Out of all the wineries we went to this was one of two that I actually bought a bottle from. It was absolutely amazing. The food wasn't special and was merely store bought crackers, meats, cheese, but it paired well with the wines and was reasonably priced. The olives had incredible flavor though. They met all the Covid guidelines and the staff was on top of cleaning and sanitizing. The staff was also very attentive and delightful. This is a must see if you are traveling to Traverse City.

Rove has a great location with a nice overlook of their vineyards and surrounding area. Really wanted to try their new sparkling - only to find out it was not able to be sampled, bottle only, and staff did not have much knowledge of tasting notes (for $28 need a bit more confidence to buy). Staff were all young and lacked training in knowledge of wine. Tastings were limited to a pre-set flight and glasses were $8 for non-local grapes and $10+ for MI ones. (1) Glass prices are much higher than other places in area (2) Never seen a local place highlight so many wines not from area (not my preference, if I'm in MI I want MI wine) 3) Pours are disappointingly very conservative. So we occasionally have gotten cider but now they've cut down on options there too, only having 1 on offer. Ok....but their charcuterie plate was always a nice item....but that too has changed. For $17 you can see what we got in a poorly presented plastic container with Prairie Breeze being the only stand out (the fig jam and mustard were less than a tablespoon in size). I've met Mackenzie before and enjoy her company, but part of what drew us to Rove (approachable, affordable, presentation, etc) is getting lost.  I think more focus on experience and less on entertainment could improve future visits. Sadly will be a while before we give it another chance.

This place has no business being this good looking. Service was clutch, snacks were delicious, wine hit the spot, views were show stopping and the environment was on point. Big fan of the vibe here and will be back again.

We stopped in on a group tour with 5 couples. We had the whole tasting room reserved and we all did individual tastings. While the atmosphere and scenery is beautiful, we weren't overly impressed by the rest. We understand that it's covid and it's hard to interact with staff, but it didn't feel like a true tasting. The bartenders basically just kept checking your list and pouring your next tasting. They never taught us about each one or gave us many details on each sample. It was awkward because they all have masks on and are behind a shower curtain while pouring drinks, but the best part of tastings is always learning about each sample. While doing the tasting, we weren't allowed to walk away from the bar. They were very strict on this and we weren't even allowed to take a drink on the patio. We had to stand at the bar and complete the entire tasting before we could move to the patio or their tent. The wives did like that they provided blankets while outside because it was pretty chilly. It was pouring for a lot go our visit and a lot of water was coming into the tent. Overall, not our favorite spot but maybe just ordering one drink and enjoying the patio would be better than a tasting.

Great place! The view at sunset was nice. We prefer to go during the week when it's not busy.

You are paying for a view! Great wine but a few dollars overpriced for the expected quality. Had the red wine flight and some of the wines weren't amazingly good, but they were satisfying to drink looking out the outdoor deck. The Cabernet Franc/Merlot was bold and flavorful, yet not too sweet. Other than wine, they sell a variety hand food that pair with wine. For Traverse City (one of the best wine cities in the US), their wine is standard. The view is undoubtably beautiful and atmosphere was relaxing. Great conversations is all you need for this place.

Evan was a great server ! Wine is great, the view might even be better. You can't customize wine flights which is a bit of a bummer.

I had not been or heard of Rove before and stumbled upon it my last time in TC. It will now be added to my go to rotation of wineries. The rose' was delicious and the views were amazing. The only thing I wish was that they had more food options. The food they did have comes in a plastic container and didn't scream winery to me. For that reason we skipped food and waiting until the next spot. Otherwise I definitely recommend this for a wine stop!

My S/O made reservation here for a tasting and I'm not much of a wine drinker but I went along and I'm glad I did. First, I can't understate how beautiful a setting this vineyard is. The trees, sunsets, rows of grapes and even the tasting room are like something out of a Napa Valley magazine. Its just gorgeous. I could sit, no wine, and take in the views alone all day. The tasting while but was underwhelming. The have an EXCELLENT red blend, and a Riesling that while very sweet I rather enjoyed the complexity. That said, I prefer scotch so don't take my word for it. What really made my night was the Mules. Dry Cider, regular apple Cider, Spices all served hot and on a 50 degree night made for a great experience out on their expansive patio. I'd really like this place to succeed and I'll be back. I'm hoping they can get a few more snacks on their menu (expand the charcuterie selections) and I'd love to see so more diversity in the wine (ice-wine, ports, sparkling). Also, the people! our servers worked as a team and the young man who did the tasting for us (cant remember his name) was just great. Knowledgeable on flavor profiles, growing process and awards. Great guide for our experience.

What a view! I've been to many wineries in the Leelanau/Traverse area and this is definitely one of the best views I've found. The wine was delicious too! It is a little more expense than other wineries in the area though and they did not allow you to customize your flights of wine.

Great location, but wines even the reds all tasted the same as the sour. Very friendly wait staff though

We love this winery however they were out of some of the best ones till this spring. We did flights trying someones we hadn't before. We ended up leaving with a bottle or two of things we wouldn't have bought if they had everything. This is a cool winery close to the city and worth a quick trip. It's ok to drink white wines even when it's cold outside!

All their wines are kind of pricey but the 2014 Cabernet Franc / Merlot was reeeally good. We went in the winter but they've probably got a really gorgeous view in the summer. The bar was kind of small so it wouldn't be great for a giant group

One of the places we happened upon and went in for a tasting. My friend bought a few bottles. They had more white's than reds .. and the few red's they had were too sweet or rose'. such a fun day and great place for girls getaway.

The good: -They have tables set up outside under a tent and on their patio all at a good distance. --We saw staff disinfecting the tables and chairs as soon as patrons left. -Staff had masks on (MOST of the customers did too but not all) -The setting is beautiful. The bad: -The wine. We had two flights and did not enjoy a single glass of wine. Most of them we didn't even finish the tasting. We're not overly picky with wine but there was not a single one we would drink a full glass of, let alone come back to have. -Party buses. I understand they have to let them come. But there were two that came in the 40 minutes we were there. And most were intoxicated enough to not care about COVID precautions. We will not be coming back here.

Nice-ish wines and great customer service from the people actually working the bar, the overall management and communication to guests definitely needs work. They had an general weekend event that was not specified when making a reservation that removed the option for flights (every winery was handling the event differently but this one was the unique one for us in that they removed tastings) but my reservation for tasting flights was still in effect and I even got emails from Resy where I got a chance to mention it was a birthday reservation for my friend so I was kind of expecting a nice experience honestly LOL. We couldn't get seating and I felt bad that we ended up taking so much bar space, maybe it's a better place to visit in the summer to take advantage of outdoor seating though! I just think it's an easy move to block out reservations for tastings for the days of events so it should be an easy fix.

Nice view. Uninteresting wines. Extremely small pours for the tastings. Your time is better spent at one of the other 40+ wineries nearby.

Great wine and BEAUTIFUL views. Probably my favorite winery next to Black Star Farms on the Leelanau peninsula. Staff was friendly and prompt - tastings were however very very small.

Great staff and great scenery. The weather was just about perfect for an evening visit - warm temperatures and a nice breeze made an ideal setting to try some of their wines, which were better than I had expected. The food pairings were served in a plastic container which had a tendency to want to take flight but those serving plates could possibly be because of COVID... Super close to TC and a great way to spend an evening!

Wine down wednesday was nice! They had discounts on glasses of wine and cheese boards. The local cheeseboard featured a really good blueberry lavender jam with goat cheese. The wines were affordable and the view was nice in the evening.

Beautiful view. We enjoyed sipping on glasses of wine while enjoying a charcuterie board on the patio. They had several nice whites, but I'd steer clear of all the reds.

Service was rude.. waited way too long for our bill. Cheese board was served in a to go container. But apart from that gorgeous view and wine wasn't bad. Pinot noir had a good smokey flavor I enjoyed.

What a find! While on a business trip in Traverse City, we were referred here by some of the locals. We showed up at noon on Sunday, unsure of what to expect and if they'd even be open! Well, they were and what a treat. Their wines are delicious, and the atmosphere is comfortable as well. I believe Molly? is who helped us. She was very friendly and told us about the Empire Bluff hike to see Lake Michigan. Well, that afternoon we took her advice and made the hike. It was well worth it. So, thanks Molly! We couldn't recommend this place more. So, the next time you're in Traverse City be sure to check them out!

We have been tasting up and down Leelanau and Grand Traverse County. We have enjoyed friendly service, laughs and enjoyable places. Today we came to Rove. Staff is not friendly and pours are extremely stingy. There are so many wonderful places to visit, don't bother with this one.

SKIP IT. The wine hasn't aged anywhere near enough. The woman who helped with our tasting was unkind, almost rude. The pours for the PAID tasting were a joke. Barely filled the bottom of the glass. When we asked for a little more she got MAD at us. 1 star for the view. Besides that, don't waste your time or money.

Good white wines. Only one dry Red available. Million dollar view and friendly staff. Loved the music on patio. Wine by glass on patio are overpriced and short pours. Only food offered is cheese boards which we got and portions were tiny on those too. Two of us enjoyed 1 glass of wine and 1 snack board for $38 with tip.

I am going to attempt to review each of the nearly 40 wineries in the Grand Traverse area. In an effort to remain as objective as possible, I will be reviewing the wineries based on how well they live up to their vision of winemaking. For a new winery, Rove is starting out right. They have a beautiful tasting room, some excellent wines at reasonable prices, and a staff that is also new but learning quickly. Rove is owned by members of the Gallagher Family, local farmers well known in the area for their market. As they already have both farming and food service experience, it is no surprise that things are running as smoothly as they are. They seem to want to be a winery that has a little bit of something for everyone; but that also leans towards the craft side of winemaking, without being too pretentious. To this end, I believe they have thus far done a pretty good job. As far as the wines are concerned, they have a decent selection, especially given that they opened after two terrible harvest. They only have one red, but it is a beautiful Cab Frac/Merlot blend that is as good as other wineries that have been producing for years (and is actually a Leelanau Peninsula AVA from 2014, a rarity indeed). That wine is on the pricey side, but not terrible considering how few '14 Leelanau Reds were produced. Their 2016s are starting to come in, and they look brilliant, and have brilliant prices as well! One thing that they have gotten into big time is evening events; and I must say, I am a fan. It is wonderful to be able to come out to a vineyard and hear a concert while drinking a glass of wine. The one thing that kind of worries me, but is far from their fault or a negative at this point in time, is that they are probably the closest Leelanau winery to Traverse City and right on M-72. This could mean that bigger crowds than their winery can handle may be on the way in the near future, which could lead them astray from their original goal, but I really hope that doesn't happen. Rove Estate has had a very impressive start, especially in the face of some pretty serious challenges. I would also say they have outpaced the newer wineries on the other peninsula, with less resources to boot.

Rove was amazing! Outdoor seating with awesome views for tasting was perfect, especially in the mid afternoon. Would absolutely come back for sunset views. The staff were very helpful and catered the tasting to my and my family's likes. Will definitely return!

Rove Estate had absolutely stunning views and great wine. Being able to sit on the huge patio space made us feel a lot safer during COVID. They're also one of the few wineries that serve food! We had chips with a delicious cherry salsa to accompany our wine. Definitely recommend making a stop here!

Love this place! The views are amazing, as is the wine. Scott helped us through our tastings and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! They only have one red wine, which was delicious, but we are more into white wines, so we're cool with it. A little on the pricy side, the two of us did a tasting and had one glass after for $40. #worthit Also, if you get chilly, the offer blankets. I can commit on how often they are washed, but still a cute a idea (I opted to be chilly and passed on the blanket #germfreak)

Absolutely phenomenal venue, fantastic wines and cider, absolutely amazing staff, guy named Evan took care of me and he inspired me to travel the world, will recommend to friends and family can't wait to come back very soon
