I had a great stay at Rove La Mer — the hotel provides everything you might need for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. The location and facilities are excellent, and overall I really appreciated my time there.
However, there were a few downsides.
The check-in experience was not very pleasant. The staff member who assisted me spoke very quickly, and since English is not my first language, I had some difficulty understanding. When I asked her for clarification, she seemed annoyed to repeat herself. I had a similar experience at the smoothies van near the swimming pool. For a hotel that welcomes many international guests, I believe patience and understanding are very important, as not everyone speaks English as their main language. That said, all the other staff I met were wonderful — friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help.
Another issue was with the booking process. The room was first shown at a lower rate, but the price increased before I completed my reservation, which I found unfair.
During my stay, I also noticed that some guests were not always respectful towards others, which at times affected the overall atmosphere.
Finally, regarding the room itself, there was an unpleasant smell inside, so I had to use something to make it smell better.
Overall, Rove La Mer is a very nice hotel with great facilities, but I believe there are areas for improvement, particularly in guest service, booking policies, and ensuring a consistently welcoming environment for everyone.
