"“My general approach to decorating is holding an item—trinket dish, cushion, 18th-century apothecary vial—to my face and asking whether a ‘70s mystic and/or Stevie Nicks would own it. It’s for this reason that my instant and total infatuation with this Shoreditch hip hop bar makes total sense. Between the distressed walls and coming of age novels stacked above the fireplace, it screams artiste’s shag pad with the added benefit of quite silly, really quite fun cocktails. Roxanne is from the team behind Dirty Bones and you can expect rum-loaded highballs, a manzanilla house martini, and my personal favourite, the homemade boozy Vimto. "Would it really be so wrong to tell a potential date that this is where we live? We just have a lot of flatmates and a really, really well-stocked bar. A hip hop cocktail bar from the team behind Dirty Bones, Roxanne is the kind of place that makes you seriously contemplate whether your landlord would be that pissed if you went for a distressed wall look. From the ornate fireplace to the coming of age novels stacked on the shelves, it really does feel like drinks at your mate’s place, if your mate’s claims about being a DJ and expert mixologist were actually true. Definitely get involved in the house martini with manzanilla sherry but if that’s not your thing, there are also highballs and pitchers of homemade boozy Vimto. It’s a touch tricky to find, but look for the black door on Whitby Street behind Dirty Bones Shoreditch." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Lovely vibe and aesthetics to match. Cane for an album release party and enjoyed the music and crowd beforehand also.

They charged me 12.5% service charge for a glass of white wine I ordered at the bar. Is this even legal ? The waiter didn't ask me and I only realised when he handed me the ticket. The decor was very nice and felt very cozy The music was very loud even though it was only 19:00.

Service charge 12.5% when you get your drink from the bar and not being serviced at the table. Comment from 2 staff members that my friend and I were not having a alcoholic drink. Music very loud at 6pm Few people from the group wanted to get a beer, but the beers were not cold enough. what kind of place doesn't get ready for Friday's after-work beers? Probably a place that wants to make you drink more expensive alcohol A shame because the venue is very nice
