I have enjoyed going to Roxanne's for many years, but I was quite shocked by our bill during our last visit. With the credit card fee, our bill was close to $250 for three adults, a teen, and two kids. With tip, we were almost at $300. I think we paid significantly less at the Lobster house in Cape May for also 6 people, and I actually had lobster in my dish down the shore. We had two pizzas, 2 mozzarella sticks, 1 garlic bread with cheese, two individual salads, an individual baked ziti, and an order of meatballs. We didn't have steak or seafood. We didn't have alcohol or dessert. They use quality ingredients like fresh mozzarella instead of shredded, Kalamata olives instead of canned black, fresh mushrooms. All are worth a premium price but they just seem exorbitant. My child's baked ziti and meatballs, although adult sized, were OVER $40. He didn't even eat the pasta because there wasn't enough sauce or cheese. He did enjoy his meatballs. Soft drink refills are not free like most restaurants. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely and the service is very attentive and excellent. My one complaint about staff is one of the young ladies at the counter was in the restroom with my daughter and I and left without washing her hands. Overall most of the food and experience was very enjoyable, but I just can't justify steak and seafood prices at a pizza restaurant.
