We've been coming to Roxanne's for a long time since my father loves it here. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the service is consistently friendly. The appetizers and bread with sun-dried tomato and pepper dipping oil are definitely a highlight--always fresh and flavorful.
That said, I personally have mixed feelings. While the food is clearly made with care and huge portions even when you opt for non family style, the tomato sauce is just a bit too acidic for me, and I find myself getting acid reflux every time I eat it. If you love a super red, tangy sauce, you'll probably enjoy it, but it's not for everyone. Overall, a solid spot, just not my favorite.
We always start with appetizers the calamari fritti and Roxanne's chips which are the absolute best. I love the crispy eggplant and zucchini and it pairs well with their cucumber yogurt dipping sauce.
We ordered a few different entrees, rollatine eggplant, Parmigiana Chicken with vegetables, calamari fra diavolo, and Chicken Capricciosa. The eggplant was good it just came with way too much pasta and too much sauce a bit heavy on the parsley garnish for my liking. The calamari fra diavolo is my father's favorite and he gets it every time. The chicken parm with vegetables was a healthier option. The chicken capricciosa was delicious as my boyfriend gets it every time and loves it's basically a salad on top of breaded chicken and got a side of pasta as well.
The food is good and dessert is hit or miss from the times I've been here. Overall a good spot for parties or family dinners.
