Roxy's Grilled Cheese & Burgers - Central Square, Cambridge

While I didn't try the grilled cheese, I can say that everything else is absolutely ON POINT. I got the Mushroom Burger and it was very flavorful and juicy, and it's on the bigger side which I always love. The Mozzarella Sticks have gloriously stretchy cheese— I literally did a double take when I first bit into it— and they taste really good on top of that. Finally, my Brownie Batter shake had a nice, thick consistency and it had a VERY rich taste. My only minor complaint is that the marinara sauce tasted a bit too much like tomatoes for my liking, but that's it! The service was good and they have a 21+ arcade which was closed when I went but is definitely something to note.

Came in today at 11:57am got a Double fried chicken sandwich (no hot Honey) and got Green Muenster with applewood bacon and guacamole. Classic three cheese cheddar Muenster Monterey sandwich and The central roasted mushroom and tomato basil pesto. To wash it down I got the home made lemonade drink. Chicken sandwich was great bun was fresh tasting and the chicken was delicious crispy on outside and moist inside pickles and lettuce was good altogether. Green Muenster bacon and guacamole was so good crispy bread and guac was fresh and bacon was good salty cheese and guac is a must have in sandwich! The Central with mushroom tomato basil pesto was good loved the mushrooms and also crispy bread with the basil pesto was very good. My favorite are ranking like this #1 classic three cheese #2 Green Muenster #3 double fried chicken #4 the Central! Also the bathroom was very clean and sanitized when I went to use it! Plenty of space to seat and eat if you want to. Staff was friendly and very busy will come again and recommend to my friends and family!

the central is my fav sandwich. the cheese, the pesto, the tomato just delicious no notes. also love the truffle fries. sandwich does get soggy after a bit so keep that in mind. also the ac was leaking onto the table but other than that you should go here!!!

The double mushroom burger is absolutely incredible! The harmony of the juicy beef patty, mushroom, melted cheese, and savory caramelized mushrooms is simply addictive. The staff is so kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. I strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal!

I got the three cheese grilled cheese and added chicken and hot honey. I like the toasted bread and the chicken is good but the Sandwich itself is VERY dry. I’m just confused where the cheese is?

The grilled cheese here is soooo good 🤤 I love the variety of options they have here and the cheese is quality. They also have other great options on the menu and I enjoyed their homemade Strawberry lemonade. I also got the poutine fries and they were delectable! I would've preferred it with gravy on top but the cheese curds were crunchy and the fries tasted like they were made in truffle oil. So yummy. Can't wait to go back

We had a great experience at Roxy’s Grilled Cheese & Burgers in Central Square, Cambridge. We tried the LTO and mushroom burgers, as well as the Central grilled cheese. The burgers were juicy and delicious, and the grilled cheese with pesto sauce was super yummy. The burgers were a little oily for my taste, but you can’t have tasty food without some oil! They also have arcade games and a bar that you can enjoy. Overall, a fantastic spot for a satisfying meal.

When we arrived, it was empty and we were able to place our order right away. However, within 10 minutes they had quite the crowd at the front of the restaurant. Still, there was plenty of seating and I found the decor to be fun. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. My teen daughter and I loved our sandwiches and found that they had the perfect crispy on the outside . They were messy to eat because of how generous they were with the meat. We enjoyed the fries, which had a slight garlic Parm flavor. We did wish that there was salt and pepper at the table. The milk shakes were a great consistency and flavor. They tasted exactly like their names.

Stopped for a quick bite after some morning walking and shopping. The classic three cheese was good - but the bread AMAZING!! Holy wow good. We also had the onion rings - excellent. Windows open and fun people watching. Highly recommend. Definitely be back when in area.

Love the burgers & grilled cheeses! This location also includes an arcade with drinks & games. The arcade also includes a few additional items on the menu. The chicken tenders are really good as well. They're always quick. Some of the games include: mortal kombat, skee ball, hoops, & Mario kart. Very unique & great spot overall for an evening out.

I got the chicken tenders and truffle fries, they were both really good! The chicken tenders was a "side" but it was big enough to be a full dinner meal. I thought they were great, I didn't expect chicken tenders to be so good, since they're known for grilled cheese. The fries were big portions too, and came out hot and fresh. I'd def come back, the prices weren't too expensive either.

Grilled cheese was really good and hit the spot, although I do feel like it's a bit overpriced for just a plain grilled cheese ($8). I was a bit disappointed in their vegetarian options and wish they had more fun grilled cheese options without meat. The friends I was with got the green munster sandwich which they loved and said was amazing. Service was great - everyone was super friendly! I do wish they were open a bit later - on a Friday night they closed at 11.

Roxy's was always on our list when coming to Cambridge and we came in at just the right time for dinner, not packed but not empty either. We chatted with the staff for a bit to figure out what to get. I will say the space isn't that big but it works well for quick in and out service since you order at the counter and they then bring your food to you. Went looking at the menu their were 2 things that really stuck out to me. The Steak N Cheese, I mean I love Cheesesteak and I love Grilled Cheese. Then the Poutine Tots. Again, love poutine and love tots how do I not. The Steak N Cheese was good. Not up to par with the tender ribeye in a true cheesesteak but still got the job done. I feel like the steak was similar to steak emms if you are wondering. The Poutine was more of a let down for me. The tots were good but the curds were over cooked for sure to the point that I didn't even realize there was cheese in those fried balls. To save the tots the Truffle ones saved them. They were very good, and having some tomato soup as well is always the best. Also their is an amazing arcade right behind Roxy's so make sure to check it out.

Roxy's grilled cheese is amazing! I ordered the hot honey bacon grilled cheese and truffle tater tots. Both were tasty and crisp! They are made with good quality ingredients and prepared fresh. I love stopping here when I see the food truck or when I'm near the restaurant.

attempted to visit for 24th birthday. Bouncer stopped us at the door and refused access since we wouldn't leave a bag of peanuts with him. 7 people, willing to spend money, denied because I wouldnt leave a bag of peanuts with your door man. I live on Highland Ave, this was absurd. He locked the door in front of us, as he said "It's a simple request." Will never be back because of you're horrendous hospitality

I made an online pick-up order and got the poutine fries, steak & cheese grilled cheese, as well as the southern grilled cheese. Both sandwiches are buttered nicely with perfect browning. I enjoyed both sandwiches, although I am not sure if they justify the price. The sandwich is quite hefty and leaves you satisfied. They do get a bit oily but not so overwhelming to prevent you from finishing the sandwich in one go. I preferred the steak & and cheese, although it was a little messy to eat as pieces of steak kept slipping out the sandwich. The poutine fries, on the other hand, were very disappointing. The cheese curd was overly fried and dried up. The gravy was overly salty, making it quite tiring to consume. The fries themselves were okay, but the portion of this dish did not make it worth the price. I would have ordered a third grilled cheese instead. Besides the poutine, the sandwiches were okay, so I would not mind coming back if I am craving a really fancy grilled cheese.

This was my second time visiting a Roxy's location and for the 2nd time they hit it out of the park. The staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and prompt. They truly make one of the best grilled cheese's around and the meal prices are incredible fair. This location has a bararcade in a converted freezer. The barcade is quite large and has two full bars on its exterior walls. They have an assortment of games and I am told the machines alternate regularly. The token machine takes both bills or cards and games are 2-6 tokens per play. I would definitely recommend this establishment to others.

This was bomb ASF !! Cheese was good and the food was delivered fast and the sandwich was hot!! I def recommend this spot.

Fun place with cute decor (and apparently an arcade? It wasn't open when I stopped by for lunch, though). I ordered the classic three-cheese and it was really good! A bit smaller than I expected but very yummy through-and-through, and for such a low price, too. My friend had the green muenster which was a little mediocre - guac wasn't the freshest and bacon too salty. We also got the truffle tots which smelled so good - and thankfully also tasted great :) A bit too oily but very fragrant, and we wolfed those down quickly. I heard the burgers/chicken sandwiches are also really tasty, too, so I'm really looking forward to coming back to try those out soon!

If you have not been to this place, get there! if you're an 80s kid like me it will hit all the feels. I had the green Munster sandwich, and it did not disappoint, it has a unique and whimsical flavor that hits all the tastebuds at once. The restaurant itself is a front or a hidden arcade that opens after five. Service is fast and efficient and they get it right. The first time also loved the nostalgia of the IBC root beer in the glass bottles. The restaurant makes you feel like a kid again with coin operated machines as well as a dollar bill exchange machine just like the old days. Golden-brown grilled cheese was the ideal comfort food for a rainy evening. The melding of three gooey cheeses and slightly crunchy bread was superb. The classic three-cheese won the highest praise; The Central, grilled cheese with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and pesto, was delicious; and the bacon cheeseburgers had soft buns, juicy burgers, crunchy bacon, and cheese. The fries were fresh and hot. Service was friendly and efficient. Luckily, it was not busy when we arrived since the Cambridge location doesn't have much seating. The retro arcade games were the biggest hit with the kids.

Really good spot and I love all the options, especially the hot honey bacon. Service is super quick. I've used them for some catering opportunities and they always crush it. There's something for everyone on the menu. The inside in allston is a chill, pick up vibe. The Cambridge location makes for a fun date night

I think grilled cheese is a hard food to really wow someone with. Like don't get me wrong, the food is enjoyable and tasty - but it's not the type of dish that leaves like "I'm really satisfied and satiated with the the money I put down". I think I would be happier if I mentally silo the restaurant as bar food. It is going to be greasier than your typical lunch or dinner so I think it's best if you forget that during a night of drinking. The truffle tater tots were nothing to be amazed with and I barely remember my experience with them. However, I really do remember their milkshakes which were incredible - highly recommend any of their flavors here. It's hard to recommend when you have other great options in Central.

We got the Green Muenster and hot honey bacon + poutine tots. I always get the green muenster and it's a great choice. I don't like hot sauce/spicy but the hot honey bacon wasn't hot at all. The poutine tots were good as well. They put the gravy on the side. We went to the arcade in the back and it was super fun! They have a good amount of games/machines. Definitely recommend going it was pretty crowded when we got there around 7ish. When we left around 8:30pm there was a line to get in.

My friends and I decided to have a fun girls day in Boston. We found Roxy's and thought it would be perfect when we saw all the yummy looking pictures, since we all love grilled cheese. Sadly, we were all very disappointed in this grilled cheese, and the fries. The grilled cheese was tasteless and bismal. And lowkey a little burnt. The fries were even worse as they resembled the taste of acrylic nail powder. Staff was a little cute tho. All in all do not recommend, the taco place next door looks good tho.

They have some indoor seating inside. I tried their Hot Honey Bacon Grilled Cheese and Poutine Tater Tots. The Hot Honey Bacon was drizzled in a lot of honey. It was really good, not spicy, and grilled nicely to where it wasn't soft. The Poutine Tater Tots were covered with gravy, plenty of cheese curds, and a bunch of tater tots. It was also really good and delicious. I'd definitely come back here again! I came here with colleagues the other day for lunch. We were a fairly large group, and I appreciate that the staff bagged all our items together since we were doing takeout. When you walk in, it smells like a diner--a nice diner. I decided to keep it classic and order the LTO burger, which was very solid but a bit overcooked for me (basically well done). I paired this with the truffle tots (excellent and such a fun spin on tator tots) and dulce de leche shake. Let me take a moment to talk about this shake. Since moving to Boston nine months ago, I've yet to find a place that has a memorable shake, and especially once that has rich flavor like dulce de leche. Roxy's knocked it out of the park with their dulce de leche shake, and I will be back. I might even come back just to get another shake! They also have other fun shake flavors like fruity pebbles and cinnamon toast crunch, so if I'm in a nostalgic mood and want to live my best 90s life, I might get those, too. Yay Roxy's!

If you like grilled cheese then you need to come to Roxy's. We ordered the the Green Muenster, the Hot Honey and the Poutine. The grilled cheese is delicious. Tasty bread, crispy, melty cheese. Yum. The poutine was also delicious, they use tater tots which I love. The tots and the curds were nice and chunky. The staff here are so sound. We will definitely be back!

Roxy's does a solid grilled cheese in multiple varieties. I got their hot honey bacon grilled cheese that was pretty good but I wish was more evenly covered with hot honey. Their truffle tots are fantastic. The store sits right above their arcade, which is reflected in the several claw machines and arcade games located upstairs. The arcade usually has a long line on weekends but those wanting to order can just bypass the line.

Seriously the best burgers & sandwiches we've ever had. Holy smokes. The bacon cheese burger is so amazing. I had a GF bun and had to double check it was gluten free because it's just THAT good! We also got the grilled cheese special - the mark Cuban's Cuban sandwich. Wow.

You MUST get the double fried chicken sandwich!!!! The chicken is dark meat and so so juicy. Everything is topped with honey which contrasts with the chicken so well. Could not recommend more!! I also ordered the truffle tater tots which smelled delicious but could have used a stronger truffle flavor in my opinion. It was still very hot and crispy and was a good complement with the chicken sandwich. Only problem is that they are quite expensive for tater tots without much truffle flavor. Overall would definitely recommend this cute place. Food comes quickly and it's perfect when you need a late night meal.

Outstanding. I hired the food truck for a company lunch. Every step of the way was fast and friendly, from the request for quote, to my last minute add ons, to showing up slightly early to set up. The guys served over 90 people fast and everyone was thrilled with their meal. The price was very reasonable and they even gave me a tray of leftovers which were gobbled up by those who came fast. We are definitely going to hire them again in the near near future.

Roxy's is the perfect spot for a quick and easy grilled cheese. They have some fun options, including a grilled cheese with fig jam. The Mass Ave location has a cool arcade below, but we just ordered delivery this time.

Disclaimer: I don't eat grilled cheese! I unfortunately don't eat grilled cheese so my review will only be focused on the service, ambiance, and truffle tots I ordered. The service was average and they were quick to make the food. You could taste/smell the truffle oil in the truffle tots for sure - it felt like eating expensive or fancy tater tots - and it was good! Place was clean and average on decor, had a modern theme with the decor and layout.

Hands-down this was probably the best grilled cheese I've ever had. I ordered the southern which I had pulled pork and Grillo's pickles on it and it was DELICIOUS! I think it was about $10 which is a little expensive but it really was good. Also got the chipotle mayo to dip in and that was so good too. I wish I ordered more off the menu to try (like the tater tots!) The staff was also really nice and friendly and service was quick. Definitely recommend trying this place out!!

Got to try Roxy's for the first time when their food truck was at an event. As someone who loves carbs and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches really hit the spot! I tried their hot honey bacon sandwich and enjoyed it very much - also got a tomato soup which went really well with the sandwich. The service was super friendly and personable. They've really figured out how to make something as simple as a grilled cheese sandwich memorable and special!

We got the hot honey bacon, steak & peppers, truffle tots, Roxy sauce and strawberry shake. We loved the strawberry shake but everything else was just ok. Steak & peppers were sliding out so made it really hard to eat. Truffle tots were too truffly.

Terrible experience! My 40 year-old boyfriend was denied entry on his birthday, simply because he presented a LEGALLY VALID paper ID. Despite explaining that it was issued after registering for his Real ID, the pompous, rude, and dismissive bouncer refused to let him in. Absolutely ridiculous and discriminatory. We'll never be returning and will be warning others to avoid this establishment at all costs.

Got two of the sandwiches and a side of soup. All the food was very good and the menu had a bunch of fun options that elevate the standard grilled cheese. Food was very affordable and staff was nice. Recommend going into the back to the arcade after eating for some games and a drink.

Excellent place to hang out, it's the perfect nostalgic hang out spot with all the all video games, they have basketball, skee-ball, guitar hero, all the great oldies and if you ask nicely they'll put the PlayStation or Xbox on for you to play video games for free on the big tv. Food is pretty good, mostly burgers and hot dogs, had some putine that was great. These huge drinks were kinda good but mostly ice and kinda mostly show (like look at me I got this huge drink with lights in it). The smaller version is better it's literally the same cup inside. The service here was the worst part, hey sir could I add this in my drink - No. ok we'll can we change the channel to watch the game - No. ummm ok well can I please take this out I hate that - no! Sir yes sir, I turned to the bartender and said wow you guys are really accommodating here you are like amazing, he turns to me and says I know. I wouldn't ever give a terrible review but 2 out of the 3 bartenders could care less for my business it seemed (make and female) the last male was great!

Great staff and good food. The pinball machines always work! The truffle tots are great and I love how they utilize hot honey in their creations. I like to go before the crowds and lines. If you're planning a date here, keep in mind that kareoke night is on Wednesday and it gets loud. The pinball is $1 per game and you can get tokens easily from the machine. I also want to give a shout out to the jello shots because they're delicious

Yummm! Who doesn't love a grilled cheese? Well roxys does the job with some amazing flavor combinations. We got the we had a central square and a green Munster. Overall great little lunch.

Roxy's is my spirit animal. Came in for lunch with my child and partner and we were warmly greeted. Bella, our order taker was friendly and shared good info on the menu. My partner and I ended up splitting my Roxy's go-to, The Green Muenster, as well as trying the Hot Honey and Bacon on Bella's recommendation. The latter didn't disappoint, with its mix of sweet and savory, but the former... yeah, a trip to Boston isn't complete without getting a Green Muenster. The bacon, Guac, and cheese are more delicious than the sum of their parts. Instant joy in sandwich form! Oh, we also got the poutine tater tots. If you order them and are wondering where the cheese curds are, look closely. Half of those golden brown pleasure nuggets are deep fried curds! So good... and the gravy slathers on the perfect amount of umami. Oh, and they were playing chill covers of Metroid and Zelda music while we ate. What more could one ask for‽

This place is great. It's a place with great food, and a secret fun place. Lots of games, and entertainment.

I didn't think that I would ever be impressed by a vegan grilled cheese sandwich but Roxy's got me beat! I had the Vegan Allston sandwich and I swear that the first bite I took brought me to flavor town. I am also surprised that the prices were on the lower side. Most places that have Vegan options for anything in the area tend to jack the prices up but this place is definitely affordable.

OMG, the BEST Onion Rings! No Joke - thinly cut, tempura batter well-fried, not greasy, perfectly salted. I would return just for the onion rings. The double-fried chicken sandwich, served with hot-honey, is amazing - all 4 of us gobbled it down. It doesn't have any cheese, but it's delicious. The Green Muenster Grilled Cheese (Guac + Bacon) was good, as was the Hot Honey Bacon - but the Chicken Sandwich & Onion Rings are where it's really at. The chocolate milk-shake was pretty good, not too thick (very drinkable with the included straw) . The caramelized pineapple lemonade was a bit sour, but pretty tasty. They're open late, and we used their website's online order form (which they thanked us for). I say, everything's good, and one of these days, I'm going to try their poutine!

The bar and arcade area closed at lunch hour only open weekend nights .a fried burger and can of coke at $15 was a dripping mess . Some kind of house sauce and lettuce tomato and onion shredded pieces versus slices . Was there bacon on it , I don't know . Slightly better than McDonald's , but not as good as a five guys . Next

It's a grilled cheese place with a great vegetarian grilled cheese menu but I eat meat. Luckily Roxy's serves meat and does it well. My fav is the mushroom Swiss burger. Cooked well, mushroom and swiss melt togther to make hamburger heaven. And truffle tater tots to die for! Prices are average for a mid-tier burger joint. Service nice and very efficient. If you're looking for some meat amongst all the vegan/vegetarian options near MIT try Roxy's.

Roxy's is a fun place that does a few spins on grilled cheese. There are limited tables inside but there are seats facing the window along the perimeter- I can see it getting really busy during lunch time. Grilled cheese menu isn't super extensive like other artisan grilled cheese places but we tried the mighty rib and the double fried (a chicken sandwich). The mighty rib was packed with meat (which I love) and the bread was perfectly buttery and toasty. I think it could've used some more cheese, considering this is a grilled cheese place. The double fried was perfectly crispy and flavorful- the sauce was a little too sweet, but we just added some sriracha to it and it was good. The two sandwiches combined were a little over $17. They came out really quickly- perfect, quick, lunch spot!

I LOVE Roxy's! We stopped in on our way back from the MIT museum. Roxys has a great selection of burgers, hot dogs, and grilled cheese. They even have many vegan options! We ordered the truffle tots, Allston, and the LTO burger. The food was phenomenal! I can say without a doubt that it was the best burger I've ever r eaten. I really love whatever the Roxy sauce is! The business does NOT offer straws which is awesome!

I get Roxy's on my way home from work. It is so easy to order right from their website for pickup and it is ready within 15 minutes of ordering. The quality and quality control of their food is on point. Everything I have tried is really good and it never disappoints. I LOVE the hot honey - on both the grilled cheese and double fried chicken. Big fan of the sweet elements in food. Highly recommend. The green Muenster is okayyy. I wasn't a big fan of the guac. The truffle tots smell soooo strong, but they're pretty good. The taste of truffle isn't overwhelming and the tots are ALWAYS perfectly fried. I hope everyone gets the chance to try Roxy's.

Customers are socially distanced and you receive a text or email when your order is ready for pickup. I assume they are taking only online orders to stop customers from coming in contact with many other customers. If you have questions they do allow you to come inside to ask but there is no one there to take the orders so you are asking grill members. Again this is because they are not taking in person orders, you either call in or order online. Some of the options online aren't always in stock so they may ask you for substitutions as well as some items not being on the online menu but being on the in person menu. Just ask if you are curious all of the staff are friendly and willing to answer questions. Food is crispy and fresh, I've never had a problem with the food from here. It's always delicious!

The double fried chicken sandwich was exactly what I needed after a double header of workout classes at Heartbreak Hill next door. The buttermilk was a wonderful twist in the frying process! I also love getting grilled cheese sandwiches from here-especially the Mighty Rib melt with short rib and caramel iced onions and the Hot Honey bacon sandwich (self explanatory). For 3.50 you can upgrade to a combo and get a side and a drink. Great place to try :)
