Roy Boy's Barbecue

I came up from Drummonds and stopped by for some lunch. Man was I NOT disappointed! The loaded brisket potato was waaaay more than one person can eat and had so much flavor! I can’t wait to come back up again. If you don’t stop here for some great food and friendly service, you are missing out!

The food was off the charts! Best ribs I’ve had in a while. Check out their loaded baked potato. It’s legendary.

My daughter and I were in Dyersburg, Tn. today and wanted barbecue for lunch. After doing a little online research, we decided on Roy Boy's. Not just because it has the highest rating of all barbecue places in the area (4.8) But, also because they offered the most unique menu options. A pulled pork sandwich with bacon and cheese?! Another with a slice of bologna?! We couldn't pass that up and glad we didnt. The food was served quickly and was delicious. We chatted with a young man, who I presumed was the owner. He was a very gracious host. A very pleasant experience, will definitely eat here again when in Dyersburg.

I’m from out of town and was looking to door dash something. When I seen picture of a baked potato with meat and cheese on it I thought looks good. Put in my order added some extras to it and seen the total from door dash and thought “kind of an expensive potato. But I was hungry. In the meantime Roy’s called to tell me they had no jalapeños to put on would like to sub something else. Which I liked they reached out to me about it. So added something else to it to make up. Let’s just say when it got to me I thought the order must be wrong. The bag felt like it had a brick in it. This place don’t mess around on portions. Plus it delicious. Definite 10/10 I know oic doesn’t do justice but this was after I ate my fill already.

Stop for lunch when traveling home. Glad we did. We enjoyed the pulled chicken, slaw, and beans. Enjoyed talking to Roy about his barbecue! Decided to get a pound of pulled pork to take hone for later! Prices are very reasonable. Thanks, Roy, for a great lunch! Lots on the menu to choose from. One suggestion for the menu, maybe offer a meat platter that isn't a sandwich, just pulled meat with 2 sides (for those that don't want or need all the bread!)

I was in town visiting and had to stop for some supplies. I asked a local what the best place to eat in town is. They quickly replied with "You've got to go to Roy Boys's BBQ!". After I had finished I traveled over to find an amazing BBQ joint. The staff were super friendly, hospitable, and engaging. I asked for a recommendation on what to eat and was told the BBQ baked potato. I asked if it comes with sides and the owner gave me a look and said, "you're not going to need sides". The baked potato I received was 9 or 10 inches long! On top of that, it was covered with all the chives sauce, and BBQ I could imagine. This potato can feed a third world country! I was able to eat a quarter and tapped. I recommend this place for sure! Get a baked potato and tell them you read about it here.

We stopped for some southern bbq and wasn't let down. Roy and his team was very warm and friendly to all the customers that came in, including us. Im happy to have met them and to have enjoyed their food. We were driving through to indiana and will def be stopping in again for some more food. We got the pulled pork family meal. That potato salad had to of been the best I've ever had, hands down. My daughter said the same thing. Keep it up Roy!!

The BBQ nachos are INSANE. My only wish is that I lived closer to eat it more often!

Visiting Dyersburg TN for work when Yelp led me the Roy Boy's Barbecue and WOW! Talk about getting it EXACTLY RIGHT! First impression: The restaurant is small and impeccably clean. The staff treated me like I was a regular. When I ordered at the counter, the young lady recommended the Loaded Baked Potato. I got the one with Pulled Pork, nacho cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños (on the side please). At the recommendations of the crew- I went with the sweet heat barbecue sauce. It was massive! Two pounds of Pulled Pork + all the cheese and chives and potato and jalapeños (on the side, please). Oh! And Banana Pudding! Don't forget that! I ate every last bit. It was a masterpiece of barbecued indulgence. If you're passing through (or staying awhile too) don't miss this place. You won't be disappointed.

Passing through on our way home and we stumbled across this quaint, nondescript, tiny little building that if you're not looking for it, you'll likely pass it by. That would be a TERRIBLE mistake. The meat this man cooks up and serves daily is straight from heaven above. The pulled pork is juicy and full of flavor and served with just a bit of sauce. Absolutely tasty, exactly as it should be. I got the little piglet portion, which was huge. I can only imagine how big the regular size is. But the real star of the show are those ribs. Omg, they are a treat! Fall off the bone into your mouth tender. It's like meat porn for your soul. Everything you imagine about southern bbq becomes reality with every bite. You can literally taste the love this man puts into his food. We also tried the green beans, baked beans and potato salad, all equally good but the bbq itself is worth the trip and well worth the money. We're from St. Louis and we have plenty of good spots here, but we will be coming back soon. Pure magic. If you have a chance, talk to the owner. The guy is delightful to speak with!

Ribs were perfect and the owner/manager came by to ensure we were happy. The sauce was also very unique and in the best way. Very tasty. My mom hat the BBQ Sammy and she couldn't stop raving about it.

We ordered the baked potatoes and they were delicious! Enough for two meals, lots of chicken and toppings . Probably the best baked potato in town!

By far the best BBQ in the Dyer County area! Ribs, pulled pork, smoked bologna, smoked dump sticks, potato salad and baked beans are all wonderful. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. We live in Floria and stop here every time we're in the area! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

If the ribs (which have been sold out twice) are better than the smoked chicken, then I need to make an effort to get up early enough on a Saturday to get some. Bbq sandwiches are great, too.

Hickory Bourbon and brown sugar was the flavor of their ribs today and it was outstanding. The service was excellent and everybody was very friendly. I highly recommend stopping by here. The portions are more than enough for anybody.

My family and I stopped in for a quick lunch on our way back to Kansas. Definitely a plus that it's right off the interstate! Owner was very friendly and helpful to show what's most popular on the menu. For being a smaller place, they even had a highchair brought out for my 1 year old. I ordered the loaded baked potato and my dad ordered the 1 lb loaded fried bologna and pulled pork sandwich! Very unique and tasty homemade bbq sauces as well. Lots of food for a great price! Highly recommend

The food was amazing! The owner recommended the loaded potato & his recommendation was excellent! The potatoe was thoroughly cooked & the pulled pork flavor was delicious!

We stopped in today to get Brisket. No luck. I ended up getting the Piglet Sandwich with slaw and hot sauce. It was so good. And I got the Mini Nachos with beans and mild sauce. It's a lot bigger than what I was thinking. Big portions. We will be back. Great little place to stop in and get some really good BBQ. This place gets our approval.

The chicken nachos are insanely good. Banana pudding was "ok"' - it's fresh but I like my banana bit more ripe. Will always stop wen I'm in the area

My BBQ was hard, and the employees didn't want to give sauce with 2 lbs of BBQ. There are way better options in dyersburg.

Located in the mall this place is absolutely delicious! Love the Brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and all of the sides! However the real winner is the GDUB Deluxe sandwich! So good, customer service is the best and Faith is super friendly and my daughter loves interacting with her every time she sees her. Be prepared they are busy at times and may sell out but their food is worth it!

Went in for the BBQ ribs. But The Democrat COVID scam had crippled this restaurants ability to provide ribs every day. Understandable. As an alternative, Roy suggested the crazy loaded baked potato. Came with pulled pork, cheese, onions and other greenery and sour cream, slathered in his home made BBQ sauce O M G...! What a flavor rush. Huge, too. I'm a big eater, but this loaded potato was too much for 1 sitting. Had to take some home. Wife had PP Sandwich. She loved it. Spent a bit more than expected, but 100% worth every penny. Roy and his mom were great to chat with since they weren't busy. Without a doubt, a wonderful dining experience. We will return for more, and you bet we will recommend to anyone asking for top shelf BBQ !

Have you ever gnawed on a chicken leg?? You will at Roy Boy's!! I gnawed three chicken legs! They were sooooo good! The potato salad and cole slaw were homemade and fresh! The bathroom was spotless. Not even one spot of crud on the sink!! Seating area was spotless! I am very impressed! I gave five stars for clean, excellent food, really excellent food, did I mention clean and here is the biggie.......the owner answered my questions about food that is GLUTEN FREE!!! Yes!!!!!! He actually understood and knew the terms gluten free and celiac!!!!! Can I get an AMEN!! You gotta go by here! Great service, delicious food and CLEAN! That is a win-win in my book. I gotta go by there again. I want another chicken leg! Or maybe some nachos. Or maybe a baked potato. How about all three!!! Oooweee!

We happened upon this place when stopping for gas en route from Florida to Minnesota. Best loaded potato EVER and real brewed sweet tea that reminded me of when I lived in Georgia. Awesome food, friendly service. If I'm ever in the area again I will make it a point to stop there.

My family and I ordered from here and took it home. We got a whole rack of ribs and side of potato salad and coleslaw. We loved the ribs and potato salad but the slaw was a to vinegary and runny. The sauce was great I will go back to this spot to get more barbecue. Just so you know it is in the chapel hills mall but it is killer barbecue. I only gave it four stars for the slaw but I really think the meat is five starts.

I just found this cute little place in the lower level of Chapel Hills Mall, because I had to take a detour since the escalator was out of service! I'm so glad, because this is some of the best barbecue I have eaten anywhere! It is "Tennessee" barbecue, which rivals "Texas" barbecue. I had the pulled pork barbecue sandwich, which came with coleslaw. They serve generous portions-even their free samples! The coleslaw was freshly made, crisp and with a light dressing instead of swimming in may. The owners are a very friendly and cute couple. I am so glad that they are surviving the Covid crisis, and that the escalator !

Excellent Bbq for a decent price. Try the red neck sandwich. It was spicy but sweet. Friendly service and great find if your driving thru. Well worth the stop.

Don't make the mistake of passing by this place in the mall! Great food, fantastic customer service. Real homemade BBQ - the brisket with barbecue sauce is amazing. Ribs are awesome. Mac and cheese is delicious. Baked beans are great. Their brisket nachos are also amazing! This is a must try.

After a long day on the road Roy Boy's BBQ was the perfect spot. We got in just before closing but no problem - Roy and his crew were determined to make sure we didn't leave hungry! Everything we had was great, including the massive Redneck sandwich (aka 'the production killer'), bologna, ribs, nachos, pulled pork, and green beans. He makes everything each day - nothing gets re-heated, and nothing short of delicious. This was a great spot for our family of 5. Thank you, Roy!

Really good smoke on the meat, yummy sauce. It's in the mall but I get it to go any way! Try it.

I stopped over for the first time today based on some neighborhood app recommendations. I'm a bbq fanatic I must say. I will also say Texas style bbq is my favorite. That being said, I also adore the southern way of making bbq. Sometimes I just want some sauce! And if the bbq doesnt need it, like Roy Boys pulled pork, well add it anyway becasue ita double your pleasure. Get over there to the mall and grab some of this lovely bbq.

I could smell the smoked meat as I walked into the mall. Walking out an hour later, I didn't plan on ordering food. I stopped to ask how long they'd been at the mall which led to a sample of the brisket. It was absolutely delicious and better than other brisket I've tried in town. My dinner plans changed right then as I ordered the loaded baked potato to go. Since I knew I'd have to reheat later, the owner put the sour cream and chives in a separate container. I deleted the butter and BBQ sauce. Good BBQ doesn't need sauce. The potato and fillings warmed up beautifully. One loaded potato fed me and my husband. I can't wait to go back. I'd post a photo, but we couldn't wait to eat

This business was in Chapel Hills mall on the ground floor, and was fairly new when corona virus issues arose. The business is owned and run by a delightful young couple who recently moved here from the southern US. As of I believe yesterday, (5/7), the couple have been allowed to run a food truck (trailer), in the mall parking lot to try and save their business. (Their business in the south was a food truck and they're good at it.) The menu has been shortened a bit until they can get back into their established business, but if you try it, you will be impressed by the food and service! This is literally the best BBQ I've ever had and is reasonably priced. You can taste the dedication to great BBQ in every bite. Their beans, potato salad, and slaw are delicious as well. (Temporarily, their awesome ribs are by special order only.) Give em a try, the trailer is right outside Dicks Sports in the Chapel Hills parking lot! You won't be disappointed! We recently had a family wedding that we hired Roy's Boys food truck for. Their food was outstanding. I can't say enough good things about their pulled pork, brisket, potato salad, and baked beans. Their sauce is the best I've had. They are the kindest people, and writing this review is making me drool thinking about their food. Highly recommend their food and southern charm!

Roy Boy's is amazing! Their catering was perfect for our event and we are so so happy we chose them. We will be back! Best bbq in the Springs! The owners are the sweetest people.

Traveled down to Colorado Springs for the great sight seeing. Left with a better reason to come back. The food is absolutely delicious. If you're looking for honest, homemade tasting bbq for a great price, Roy Boy's Barbecue is the spot. They have a full menu eatery in the mall and a great truck parked outside if you don't wanna go in. My buddies and I all work in the restaurant industry and this is hands down the best barbecue we've had. After the trip, I had to be sure to leave a review. If you want some good bbq for a party, hit them up. They have some really affordable catering. Or maybe you want a quick pulled pork sandwich for lunch, stop by the truck outside. However you decide to eat bbq, go with them and you will not be disappointed. These guys are legit.
