"Roy Moore Lobster Co. is one of the best spots for lobster on Cape Ann, if not the entirety of New England. The views on Bearskin Neck are stunning: Pop into one of the neighborhood’s many boutiques or galleries after lunch, and then walk down to Front Beach for a quick dip. Roy Moore is open for outdoor dining and takeout and is not requiring its customers to wear masks." - Terrence Doyle

Was so looking forward to eating their once, best clam chowder, to be totally disappointed. I am not sure what was in it, other than overly large celery, but there was not one distinguishable piece of clam in it. Very disappointed. The freshly cooked in sea water lobster was still very delicious though.

This was my first time having a lobster roll (hot), and it was fantastic! Yes, it was a bit pricey, but the roll was packed with tender lobster meat, and the bread was buttery and soft. I would definitely pay for it again! We also tried the clam chowder, and it was the best I've ever had. It was creamy, perfectly salty, and slightly sweet, with very balanced flavors! The oysters were fresh and served with a marinara-style sauce and a lemon wedge. They were good, and I might order them again if I was in the mood. What truly blew me away was the service. We arrived half an hour before closing, so it wasn't too busy, though there were still customers enjoying their food in the back. From the moment we arrived, the staff were excited to see us, answered all our questions, and made helpful recommendations, all while cracking a few jokes, It was sweet! Our food was served hot, and once we finished, I knew I wanted a second bowl of clam chowder. They gave it to us on the house because it was my boyfriend's birthday! Honestly, we couldn't have asked for better service. At the end of the night, my boyfriend and I were trying to take a picture in front of the shack to remember our time there. One of the staff noticed we were struggling and ran out to offer help. They were all so attentive and kind. We won't forget our time there, not just because the food was amazing, but because the staff made it so special for us!

I was very excited to visit this place after reading so many reviews and wanted to take my whole family. Oh boy, was it ever a biggest mistake... 1. Hot lobster rolls: fresh but pricey for what you get - $30 for a small sized lobster roll. Better off to go to Quincy Market, Boston, imo. 2. Service: Since it was a busy weekend, just chaotic. After placing my order, I waited in front of the door for the person to call my name. After waiting for 20 min, noticed that people who ordered after me getting their food first. When inquired, the cashier blatantly lied to me saying he called my name "19 times." Obvious that my order got missed. Kitchen had to make on the spot, which took less than 3 min. The cashier never apologized...what a service...

Parents brought me to Roy’s back in the 1970s. Always make this my #1 stop in New England. Best lobster dinner ever. Thank you Ross and John

If you’re looking for the freshest lobster on the East Coast, you MUST try Roy Moore Lobster Company. I have been coming here for over 10+ years. I figured it was time to update my 9+ year old review! Roy Moore is famous for their locally-caught lobsters. They’re typically 1 1/2 LB lobsters, which is the perfect size in my opinion. The meat is juicy, tender, and flavorful. The larger lobsters are more tough. The establishment is a no-frills environment. You order up-front and eat out back on the deck overlooking the water. They offer fresh lobsters, smoked salmon, smoked mussels, clam chowder, oysters, Jonah crab claws, fish cakes, stuffed clams, lobster rolls, and shrimp cocktails. Everything is incredibly fresh. You’ll frequently see staff bringing in crates of lobsters right off the boat. It doesn’t get any fresher than that! The owner and his son are wonderful people. Kenny is the best at cooking the lobsters, he has it down to a science. You can’t replace experience. The result is a juicy, hot, and flavorful lobster. We typically start things off with the raw bar. We are big fans of their oysters, shrimp cocktail, and jonah crab claws. Next, we go for a cup of their incredible clam chowder. It is a meal in and of itself. It’s not like most Clam Chowder where it’s watered down, thin, and tasteless. I’d argue they make the best chowder I have ever had. Once we have hit the raw bar and chowder, we head onto the Stuffed Clams. The stuffed clams are incredible and they’re one of my favorite items on the menu. The lobsters are the star of the show here. As of October 2023, you can get (3) lobsters for $40. The price has certainly increased a bit, but to me it’s worth it. They’re always cooked perfectly, pre-cracked, and piping hot. The service is phenomenal. Kenny and his team truly put their all into the business. They also remember faces. I’ve been going there for 10+ years and he always recognizes me when I stop in. I will warn you: Do not go on a weekend. The line is literally dozens of people deep. It is totally mobbed. The place has certainly grown and the secret is out where to get the best lobster. I’d suggest visiting during the week, it’s far less busy. They also have a fish market next door where you can purchase locally-caught, sustainable fish, lobsters, lobster meat, and much more. Lastly, they now offer Beer and Wine to enjoy with your seafood feast! I highly recommend Roy Moore to locals and tourists alike. There is no other place like it.

Yum, yum, yum!! We caught our own lobsters in the morning with a guide and brought 4 of them on ice in a cooler to Roy Moore’s and they were so kind to cook them up for us! It was an amazing experience and such a cute little seating area in the back. We also ordered the chowder, slaw & oysters. Oysters were some of the best I’ve had! Highly recommend checking this place out.

The lobster was fresh although pricy ($25 each). The lobster roll was just ok.

Yelp
The best lobster shack on the north shore. Owner, Kenny Porter is personable, knowledgeable, and all around great guy. Lobsters are fresh, reasonably priced, and delicious. Only drawback is Kenny is an avid C's fan but I can overlook that because his lobsters make up for that. Jim from California

Yelp
It's been 5 years since my last trip to Rockport, so we were due for another visit to Roy Moore Lobster. We arrived around 11am on a Saturday so there was no wait and a good amount of seating out back, but we saw pretty long lines during lunch time. To note: there is no shade in the seating area, so bring a hat/sunscreen if you don't want to get sunburned on a sunny day! The menu is simple and ordering is easy. When we were there, they only had 1.75 pound lobsters as an option for $25 each (I think they otherwise have a 3x1.25lb lobster for $55 deal). The food came out quite quickly. They are very efficient. My favorite thing that we had were the oysters ($30 for a dozen). They were fresh, sweet, and clean-tasting. Some did have a bit of debris from the shell, but it was easily avoided. These are some of the best oysters I've had in a while (though to be fair I've only been eating $1 oysters recently). I would highly recommend trying them! The shrimp cocktail ($6 for 6) were also pretty good, and the cold shrimp paired well with the classic cocktail sauce. I thought this was a decent deal all things considered. The clam chowder ($7) was also decent, though nothing special. Sadly, the part that I didn't enjoy very much was the lobster. The hot lobster roll ($30) was a pretty good deal, but my favorite part was the buttery toasted bread. The lobster meat was rather tough. The 1.75lb lobsters ($25 each) were rather dry and tough/chewy, and I didn't enjoy eating them. I recall enjoying the lobsters more the last time I was here -- perhaps the smaller lobsters are more juicy/tender, or the cooking method was different. It's a lovely vibe to eat fresh seafood on the deck by the water. I would definitely recommend the oysters, but the lobster quality may depend on the day...

Yelp
Perfect place to stop for a quick bite or sit in and enjoy the fresh seafood!! Bearskin is just perfectly set up in every corner. It is the small unique store and food fronts that make the experience that much better. It's all local people who are so creative and make it such a special place. From the arts to the fisherman history! The live lobster tank right as you enter is what got me. Thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. The cashier was super friendly and spoke with me about how Roy's started up and I quickly couldn't pass up a chowder for my walk around the beautiful coastal town. Not normally a big seafood gal but this right here was phenomenal and super fresh. It didn't even taste like fish one bit, which was the best part never had anything like it. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Great shack. Nice severs. Good oysters. 4 of 4 of us felt sick and had a bad taste from additive in the butters. Skip the butter or find somewhere that has without the additive and also larger portions.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! We came on a Monday and it was $40 for 3 lobsters. The lobsters were so fresh and juicy, exceeded my expectations. The seating area is behind the shop thru a tight alley to the right. It is an uncovered patio with tables and benches. They bring the lobsters out to you, very quick service! They make it so easy to take apart the lobster shell. You will need to use your hands, and that's part of the experience. As for parking, there isn't parking nearby. We parked on the nearby main street (paid parking) and walked down the cute little shopping area. I do recommend walking since it is such a lovely neighborhood. There are clean public restrooms a few blocks away (you can Google map it)

David M.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We got lobster rolls (warm) and two dozen raw oysters! Oysters were fresh and the lobster meat was generously poured onto the bread! They were so good we came back over the course of three days and got the same things! If you're in Maine, you have to try this place! The staff is very friendly and the view is beautiful near the water!

Yelp
A great little place to get the freshest lobster from friendly staff. We ventured out to Rockport MA for sightseeing and shopping and stumbled across Roy Moore Lobster. I'm not usually a fan of the cold lobster roll and tend to gravitate to the hot buttered version. However I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavor of the lobster meat, which was lightly dressed and loaded with tender lobster meat. We sat back behind the building by walking through a very small "ally" between the two buildings and the rolls were brought to us. The staff was very friendly and energetic. I recommend this stop for anyone wanting a fresh, delicious and authentic lobster roll. experience.

Yelp
Great place for a fresh lobster roll; definitely lives up to the hype!! If you peak your head in the door, you'll see several tanks of fresh lobsters (and some cute decor). I ordered a cold lobster roll; there was a large amount of lobster, and minimal sauce, so the taste of the lobster was not disguised. Each roll comes with a bag of chips- and note that there is nice seating behind the restaurant on the water! The one thing I did not appreciate, and observed as I was eating at a table across the street, was the worker at the front took a lobster out of the water, and was letting little kids take pictures with it. The kids dropped the lobster SEVERAL times onto the hard asphalt, it was cruel and hard to watch, over and over again.

Yelp
Great spot for some seafood on a nice day at the beach. I came here a year ago and was excited to come back for the Fish Cakes. Sadly, they sold out by the time I got there... so make sure to arrive early! That's the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars, not 5. I went with the lobster instead and boy was that a project for me! I'm no pro, so that thing kept me entertained, trying to get the meat out for a good hour. I'll be back next summer... and early enough to grab some Fish Cakes!

Stefanie Y.

Yelp
The lobsters here are so good! Roy Moore is no-frills: you walk into a space just big enough for the counter, the steamers, and tanks and tanks of live lobsters, order your lobsters, then head down the smallest alley (made of basically two planks of wood) to outdoor seating in the back. Then the lobsters arrive, perfectly steamed and served the clarified butter. All of our lobsters were healthy, with little-to-no water inside the shells, had been prepped so that they were easy to break into and eat, and they were only $15 for 1, $40 for 3! We also had the stuffed clams and enjoyed those a lot. The weather was perfect, and all of our food came out super fast. When we had arrived, there was no line, but by the time we left, a line had formed down the block, so definitely try to arrive close to their opening time to beat the crowd.

Reginald P.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Rustic setting and possibly the finest lobster roll (I ordered the hot roll). So good next trip having whole lobsters (and maybe a roll too!)

Chanda R.

Yelp
Really good! Service was friendly! Clam chowder was the best I had in ages! The lobsters look amazing I didn't try them but all the patrons seemed to enjoy them!

Yelp
I'm pretty sure i'm a dumb Texan who doesn't know what she's talking about when it comes to lobster rolls ,but I searched high and low to get a good one. It led me to this town and this quaint spot near the shore. Now, I am not sure why people serve cold lobster rolls. I promise you i've searched for reasons and I can't understand it. I told myself surely that I only needed to experience it. And it may be worth it.. Unfortunately, I just don't get it. This place is amazing and awesome.. don't get me wrong. I'm just needing someone to help me understand why no one seems to sell hot or warm lobster rolls in MA. The consistency of the lobster was great, and the butter was hot. Something was just missing for me. I grew up eating ceviche, raw oysters, clams.. you name it! But lord, I just couldn't get myself to believe lobster is better served cold. Nonetheless, I recommend this place to get a great serving of lobster. Everything truly is fresh here, and everyone was welcoming... Very great service. Maybe one day I'll understand why MA doesn't have hot lobster rolls, but today ain't the day. This little joint is still highly recommended for all of yall that love cold lobster rolls!

Mingshi Y.

Yelp
Really great lobster roll -- a lot of lobster in it. Price is pretty reasonable considering the amount of lobster. It's not easy to get seating but the staff is helpful and friendly. Location is great.

Jared C.

Yelp
This unassuming shack serves really good fresh lobster. I had a hot lobster roll and the rest of my family shared a full lobster. If you can afford it - get the roll and save yourself the hassle of breaking down your own food. There are picnic tables in the back, a very narrow path on the side of the building leads you there.

Deb W.

Yelp
I visited rockport for a quick day trip and decided to stop by here for lunch. I love the outdoor seating by the water, although it was a bit tricky to navigate with my newborn in a stroller (you have to walk down a very narrow platform between two buildings to get to the back patio). The food overall was okay. We ordered a dozen oysters, the clam chowder and a lobster roll to split between two people. The oysters were the highlight: they tasted fresh and clean. The clam chowder was a bit thick for my liking and I found the lobster roll to be very small for the price we paid. It was nice to try out the restaurant and probably a good option in rockport but it definitely wasn't a highlight restaurant for me.

Fran L.

Yelp
What a fantastic Lobster eatery! There is one and only truly Lobster place in the Gloucester, Massachusetts, where you can enjoy the cheapest and most delicious steamed fresh live Maine Lobsters and fresh oysters. $20 for a small lobster and three for $50 and best clam chowder for $7 and tasty coleslaw make for an ensemble of most memorable lobster dish that must be experienced. During the popular weekend one can't find a table to sit in the back of the small hole in the wall where the guys call out the orders and you bring it to the table. I loved the taste and the freshness of soft shell lobster that are so delicious that I regret not getting three more.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I was super excited to have some fresh seafood (ordered the lobster roll and clam chowder) and honestly left a little disappointed in the lobster roll. I loved the large serving of lobster and it was incredibly fresh but the bread wasn't great. Would've loved for it to be just a little toasted to add a bit of crunch with each bite. Instead it was just a sad block of cold soft bread that didn't do much for the delicious lobster it was paired with. On the bright side, the clam chowder was amazing - creamy and clammy.

Natalie I.

Yelp
Tried Roy Moore during a day trip to Rockport. Restaurant is located on a cute street with many shops, restaurants, etc on the way to the water. The restaurant itself is a small post where everything is cooked up front. There's a small walkway on the side of the restaurant to access their small outdoor patio. The service was great and patio was very clean. Food was very yummy and definitely recommend stopping by.

William Tompkins ..

Yelp
Delicious lobster and friendly staff. I enjoyed eating out on the deck. Overall great location.

Anna T.

Yelp
The clam chowder was bomb. I could've had 4 servings in one sitting. Shrimp, baked clams, oysters were also tasty! My slight problem was the lobster roll. It was a bit dry for me, and I wasn't thrilled about the bread. When I think my husband can make a better roll, then too bad for you. To make it rain on this, it cost a wow $32 for the roll. Is that normal? Maybe, but because I didn't LOVE the roll, it was hard to digest - the cost. But to be fair, I'm not huge on lobster rolls to begin with so maybe I'm not the best person to review it. Also, beer would've been nice to go with all that food.. (they don't serve alcohol although you're welcome to BYOB). OVERALL I would still recommend the place and 4/5 feels right. It is a staple of Bearskin Neck which is a super cool must see area in Rockport. The staff is sooo cool and friendly, and it has a sweet little eating area out back. Ask the locals and they have nothing but positive things to say about the place!

Yesenia L.

Yelp
Made it out to Rockport Mass. once again just to have us some lobstah‼ And boy we were not disappointed ‼Roy Moore Lobster was superb!! We started off with their 3 for $40 lobsters. By the end of our dinner we had ordered 6 more. The guys serving were kind and gave you whatever you asked for. They don't check up on you but it's ok, as long as the lobsters keep coming. Lobsters tasted very fresh and were just delectable. Next time you are in Rockport hit them up. The outside deck just added to the experience. Great ambiance. Everyone around us were willing to talk and give tips. Don't forget to ask for a cup of warm water to clean the lobstahs tail. You'll thank me

Alisa G.

Yelp
My family and I have loved coming here for years. The lobster is definitely fantastic. However, the other day I brought a friend here for lobster rolls and was really disappointed. It was $36 for one lobster roll and it was really mediocre. The roll really makes a big difference and this one was just not it~ it didn't seem fresh, and was too hard and cold for my liking. Overall it just wasn't how I remembered it. The lobster itself was good though, and the oysters we also ordered were fresh. I think the main takeaway is to just get the whole lobster. Don't try the lobster rolls here!

Paige J.

Yelp
Roy Moore Lobster is where I ate my first lobster roll and WOW it was delicious. Chilled fresh off the boat lobster with a very light coating of mayonnaise in a soft buttery roll. It definitely lived up to my expectations. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. The service and care made me forget I was sitting at a tiny lobster shack off the coast. We ordered "chowdah" because...when in Rome. It came out piping hot full of clams and was perfect for a chilly sea side day. We also ordered one stuffed clam which was perfectly crispy on top and moist in the center. Would highly recommend ordering all three. My only regret was not ordering more.

Joy G.

Yelp
Solid place for seafood in Rockport. I've had better lobster rolls and oysters elsewhere at a lower price point, but just from glancing around at what others ordered, we should have gotten the whole boiled lobster. The roll had plump, juicy chunks of fresh lobster meat, with not too much mayo, but the roll itself was pretty average - a touch on the stale side, too bread-y, not toasted or buttery. The dozen oysters were cheaper than most of the restaurants in Gloucester but, at the same time, a lot smaller. Definitely get here early to avoid both a wait for ordering and a wait to find a table in the small deck tucked away in the back. You can also ask for your food to-go and eat it in a cardboard tray on a bench overlooking the water. It's small, no-frills place, but the staff were friendly and super fast with getting out food and making sure people had their orders. You help yourself to napkins, toothpicks, and hand wipes.

kristin c.

Yelp
$50 for 3 lobsters. 1 1/4 lbs each but big claws and meaty tail - fresh and was juicy. We took our time eating these and enjoyed. Clam chowder was good. Oysters are $2.50 each ($25 for a dozen) and not sandy accdg to those who ate them (they compared to the last time they had some). Maybe need sturdier plates because the one the lobster was in disintegrated because of the lobster water. Food came out pretty fast. You are sent to the back where you pick up your order or sit to eat. Some outdoor tables there. Had to walk through a narrow thruway between the buildings. Shared a table with other customers (or you wait for one). We actually mapped a different restaurant to go to but it was closed. Good for us bec for a last minute pick, this place was better.

Vidas T.

Yelp
Two dozen pink moon oysters from PEI, lobster roll and one giant 3lb steamed lobster made this trip all worth it. Delicious seafood, very reasonable prices and exceptional service. Bravo. Couple from Cleveland

Michael C.

Yelp
It's pretty hard not to visit Roy Moore's when visiting Rockport. Knowing how long the lines could get here we made here our first stop when visiting Rockport for a day during the Memorial Weekend. At 11ish AM there was only about 2 people in front of us and we actually got a table in the tiny seating area. When we were leaving the Bearskin Neck area around 1pm the line was definitely something I wouldn't be willing to wait for... The prices are definitely on the higher side (~$32 for the rolls 05/2022) but I have to say both the rolls and lobster were cooked very fresh and I have to give credit they were pretty generous with the Lobster Roll meat. We also tried the chowder and stuffed clams and the clams were more of my favorite other than the lobsters of course. If you're in the area definitely give it a try for the touristy experience and its good lobster but its not end of the world if you pass on it.

Yelp
Oh My My Oh Hell YES ! ! Lobster in the rough Is a great big mess! These guys got it together'tho... They keep it very simple ... Excellent Lobsters ! Nice, Friendly, Busy folks Very well run shop. and (unusually) Fair pricing too ! Thanks.

Jannet C.

Yelp
This is a nice place to stop by and enjoy the views, while visiting Rockport. I got a lobster roll; it had nice size pieces of lobster, lettuce and tomato. The bread was soft, and serve cold. I would have liked it better if the bread was buttered and toasted. I also got a stuffed clam, that was seasoned well and a nice side. The best thing about visiting is that we walked to the back and saw the lobster traps there, so we knew the lobsters were fresh and local.

Food E.

Yelp
Busy little spot. Lots of people as expected getting the whole lobsters and lobster rolls which looked good but with limited time I tried the clam chowder and stuffed clam. The stuffed clam was ok, the clam chowder was delicious - thick tasty and decent amount of clams that weren't just little bits.

Meagan G.

Yelp
Excellent service along with great food! The guys working here made the experience even better. Make sure to visit on a beautiful day as it is only outdoor seating.

Paige L.

Yelp
Definitely worth stopping by here for some no-nonsense service and fresh fish! We were so sad they were out of the fish cakes but ordered a stuff clam (tasty but seemed like more bread than clam), chowder (hot, creamy, delicious!), and a lobster roll (yummy bread, crispy lettuce, and fresh, large chunks of lobster that were so lightly dressed we weren't even certain it was dressed at all). We enjoyed the service at the window - the young man ringing people up did an excellent job moving people quickly through the line. He was friendly and it was also clear he would allow no riff raff. They had a nice dining deck out back, but we decided just to bring it back to our nearby airbnb.

Nora A.

Yelp
Had high expectations, and was absolutely impressed! Lobsters were so tasty and fresh, service was friendly as hell and made us laugh. Such an authentic experience. 5++ stars!

Yelp
What a gem nestled in the town of Rockport, MA! I was searching for a place to enjoy lobster with my family and had come across this wonderful place. Roy Moore Lobster Company deserves all the stars for all the right reasons. First, the staff are so welcoming. Second, the food is delicious - we had the boiled lobsters (very fresh), clam chowder (A MUST!) and the baked clams (flavorful). Above all, the outside deck makes all the difference, as you dine on the waterfront. So...For the first time goers like us or those looking for a local spot outside of Boston, make the stop here! Just order at the front and the friendly staff will guide you thereafter. They'll let you know anticipated wait time for your food and will bring it to you as you wait on the deck (which is behind the storefront, you have to go through the side alleyway).

Nick G.

Yelp
You can't not come to New England area and not try a lobster roll. That's exactly what I did. Got the lobster roll. Along with 2 stuffed clams and shrimp cocktail. Such a New England experience. There is a patio on the back but you must go through the narrow side of the building to get to it. The lobster roll was $32. Very expensive. It was very tasty and a lived up to the hype. The stuffed clams were also very good. And the shrimp cocktail is always wonderful as well. Highly recommend coming to this place.

Nana A.

Yelp
We arrived here to Rock port for the first time Navigating the highest reviewed lobster shop in the area And ordered two Lobster rolls and two chowders Once I grab them out the bag they looked first tiny then Weird color and dry meat It looks like expired left over flesh they packed in to finish up the end of Sunday orders. Shocked !!!!! Yikes, green and dark spots ,bad smell, was enough to make us regret the long way we drove up here Had to go back under rain to return them and get our money back They are not only overpriced $35 for each but tiny and EXPIRED didn't try the chowder we got sick to our stomach You can try that to yourself and end up in urgent care Awful experience

Yelp
We took the train from Boston with the intention of eating here and visiting the small beautiful town of Rockport, MA. Neither disappointed. A quick walk from the train station lands you by the sea and Roy Moore. It was starting to rain lightly and we still enjoyed eating our lobsters outside. Very friendly employees who know how to laugh. Thoroughly charming "lobster shack". We will return next time we visit Boston.

Yelp
Some of the best seafood I've had; located Bear Skin Neck, Rockport, Massachusetts and definitely does not disappoint overall. It's a little shack that is order at the window/booth and then squeeze through a tiny alleyway to their back to enjoy their eats. Their lobster no longer does the 3 for 40$ deal, but the lobster was fresh and large. We also got the stuffed clams, 2 rounds of cocktail shrimp, 2 fish patties, and their clam chowder. Cocktail shrimp was ok; just didn't have that bounce/succulence that I've had with other cocktail shrimp. 4/5 Fish patties just didn't feel exciting, and 2 for 4 people was enough. It was the one that we struggled to put down after being full from the other eats. 4/5 Excellent stuffed clams- just a good combo of the clams, herbs, breading. We ordered 1 clam a person and that was definitely one of the hits at the table. 5/5 Good clam chowder; less creamy and more clam/seafood. One of the best clam chowders I've had! 5/5 Lobster was also fresh and large. Highly recommend. Self service in the back overlooking the back waterway. 5/5

Yelp
Great prices for really fresh, really big lobsters! The 3 lobsters for $50 deal is great for groups. Outdoor seating in the back makes for a nice environment, but can be a little crowded at peak hours. However, everything is prepared and served promptly while still maintaining excellent quality.

Yelp
We returned to the fabulous seaside town of Rockport with some friends. We told them about our previous experience with this shack on the dock and they were eager to try their LOBSTAH rolls ($30 each). We also ordered the special 3 boiled 1 lb. LOBSTAHS for $50 and 2 Clam CHOWDAHS for $12. The ladies secured a table outside in the back of the shack while we guys stood in line to order. The line was about 20 people deep but moved quickly. We sat at the picnic table and ENJOYED this feast under a shady umbrella. It was a great meal and a good deal for WONDERFUL LOBSTAHS and CHOWDAHS!

Yelp
great lobster rolls! They were a bit expensive, at $32, but they were stuffed with lobster. The bread bun was just okay, but the lobster itself was very good. It was the cold mayo style of lobster roll (which I don't usually like), but I liked it a lot because the mayo wasn't overwhelming unlike at other places. We also got oysters, which were really small but fresh, and the clam chowder, which was really thick. I thought the clam chowder was delicious. It was really busy around noontime on a weekend, but our food came out really quickly. There's seating around the back but not much.

Yelp
Came for a second visit and ordered most of their menu again. The rolls were filled with fresh plump pieces of lobster. It could have been elevated had the bun been a butter brioche but still good nonetheless. As advertised, the chowder was incredibly thick. Almost too much so especially indicated when it cools to room temperature and has a goopy texture. The fish cake was simply seasoned and battered. The stuffed clam had some pieces of fish you could see, which is a plus. Overall good rolls but the sides are okay. Would want to try other lobster places nearby next time.

Yelp
Great lobster roll! Very tender, not over cooked. I loved that it was light on the mayo to really accentuate the great flavor of the lobster. The roll was good, well baked, and not at all soggy (which is a big L with other places). $34 with credit card. We also got 4 of their oysters which were petite, briny, and fresh. No grit! $2.5 each. Service was so quick, I was shocked. There was no room to sit, but it was a beautiful day so we took our food for a stroll.

Yelp
Yummmmy is all I can say! Nothing fancy here as far as a restaurant setting goes, but you get to sit out back overlooking the water while eating fresh delicious lobster and the best damn clam chowder you'll ever have! They also sell beer and wine so you can definitely hang out and enjoy the sights!!

Yelp
Are you kidding? What could go wrong. Place is great. Maybe could use dome parking but what places on that row couldn't. Lobster was fresh, it was right there swimming around. Cooked perfectly. Served nice. Nice seating area out back.

Yelp
Been going here consistently every summer for over 15 years now. It's simply the best lobster experience in MA. They've recently renovated and revamped the business too so definitely check it out.

Yelp
This shack is just what I craved from a seaport town on a chilly day in October. They had a three for $30 whole lobster special, served cracked and with drawn butter. Fabulous! We also loved the thick and piping hot clam chowder and the stuffed quahog. If I lived in Rockport I'd have to stop myself from having lunch on the back deck every day.
