Downtown Austin Restaurant J. Carver Oyster Bar and Chophouse Opening in Summer - Eater Austin
"Austin-based market mini-chain Royal Blue Grocery is opening a second Rainey Street location, as reported by Towers. It’ll be found on 91 Red River Street, at the street-level of forthcoming mixed-use building the Quincy, less than half a mile away from the current 51 Rainey Street location." - Nadia Chaudhury
Why are yall so worked up about the tip screen? They also make coffee and food there - tip if you buy that, don't if you're buying groceries...
I love the convenience and quality at Royal Blue. They value customers opinions, keep their food fresh and try to keep the essentials stocked - and I think they do a great job!

Not sure what all the complaints are about.
Staff was perfectly friendly and even offered my dog a treat.
Yes, prices are slightly higher, I don’t mind paying small connivence fees. Their selection for snacks is great, I’ll be back.

I visited 3 different Royal Blue Grocery locations while in Austin. All of them were clean and cool. Clerks were wonderful people. Prices are reasonable when you account for the convenience of being in downtown. Everything was labeled with prices and they even had some unexpected treats. They are also a pseudo cafe. Some of them have ATM's.

The food was fine, but the prices are sky high. I suspect the price is being influenced by rent prices in Austin continuing to go up.
Heaven help anyone who shops here regularly.

Nice little store. Good amount of cold adult drinks and nice snack options. The store also makes sandwich there. Only disappointment was that there was no diet Coke or diet Pepsi. The conference I'm attending this week probably wiped them out! I recommend this store for a quick stop when you need it.

It's super different from any grocery store in California.
Super and helpful customer service.

Rude staff and overpriced. I got a coffee and some snacks for my colleague and I and needed to use the restroom and they refused to let me go. A paying customer. They’re a food establishment and they don’t let customers use the restroom. Unprofessional staff who just don’t care.

They don’t honor their store hours on Google or their front door so you may arrive and not be able to get the items you need.
