Kerbey Lane Cafe’s Queso Recipe Crashed on the Moon | Eater Austin

"A Texas-based specialty grocery opened its first San Antonio location at 122 East Houston Street, bringing the same mix of retail and prepared-food offerings found elsewhere in the chain—wines, ice cream, candy—along with coffee and grab-and-go items like sandwiches. This marks the company's ninth overall location, adding to stores across Austin and two existing in Dallas." - Nadia Chaudhury

I love this model for an eatery/grocery. It reminds me of Billie’s Grocery, a place we enjoy in KC. It was perfect for a low key lunch while also providing some great snacks and drinks to load up on to get us through the rest of our day. Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks plus so many snack and food options. They’ve really got you covered! The sandwich was DELICIOUS. I went with the veggie grilled cheese and it was cooked beautifully and so flavorful. Definitely hit the spot. The staff was very nice and the interior is very chill and inviting. We really enjoyed it.

One of my main priorities in life whenever I travel is to find the nearest convenience store (or Costco/Sam's Club) to stock up on massive amounts of water - it's just that important to me. Although, I seemed to have missed the mark in my recent trip to San Antonio because I didn't get water prior to checking into my hotel; therefore, I was delinquent and made it a high priority afterwards. My family and I stumbled across Royal Blue Grocery (RBG) after we finished our dinner down the road and I was shocked to see a quaint, yet cute/little store nestled in the middle of downtown. When we walked in, I quickly noticed a coffee bar which I wanted to try but couldn't because I was full from dinner. So instead, I just took the direct path to the refrigerator section and picked out several bottles of water. The girl working wasn't as friendly as some of the other employees I've encountered while visiting this city, but she was still efficient at her job. In fact, normally when you walk into a small store, it's typical that someone would greet you upon walking in, but that didn't occur here...or perhaps my expectations are too high these days. Oh well, definitely not a show-stopper. The store had a lot of items in there, although, I cannot validate if they will have what you're looking for. Fortunately for customers, there are other options down the road if RBG doesn't have what you need. This store also sells alcoholic beverages as well if you're shopping around for it - although, it's not a huge selection...it's something nonetheless. Overall, I recommend stopping here - they sold water so I was a happy camper.

I was in San Antonio attending a work conference at the Convention Center. I always make a point to start my mornings at local coffee shops when out of town. Royal Blue Grocery is located in the Savoy building in downtown San Antonio. Founded in Austin, Royal Blue Grocery is a modern urban grocery whose offerings are responsive to the community it serves. It features Stumptown Coffee Roasters and East Side Pies in its coffee bar/deli and locally sourced, unique grocery, convenience, and gourmet grab-and-go products. Its hot sandwiches are freshly prepared, and the San Antonio store has an impressive wine selection. Royal Blue Grocery is not your typical bodega and has a cozy, inviting feel with plenty of natural light. Limited seating is available both inside and outside the store, but all seats are great for people-watching. Customer service is very solid and definitely more coffee shop-like than corner store. The coffee was great, and I plan to try their prepared items during my next trip to San Antonio.

My wife and I got back to our hotel a little late last night, so we thrilled to stumble across Royal Blue. It was just a couple minute walk from the Holiday Inn so it is very convenient. We were first greeted by two gentlemen out front, drinking some beers (super nice guys, one of them was wearing an Eagles jersey so there is obviously something going on with him, but both were welcoming and I'm sure had absolutely nothing to do with RBG). The girl working also greeted us, although not as heartily as the gentlemen out front. The place has got a little bit of everything and the atmosphere is pretty cool. Above average convenience store with a coffee shop vibe.

Ambiance feels like a cute little shop in the Hamptons with quality goods. We really enjoyed our veggie grilled cheese & Cuban hot sandwhiches. The focaccia was soft and warm and the flavor was on point. We sat outside and people watched on the patio with two adult beverages.

Love this spot the barista's are very friendly as well as thoughtful they have a great selection on IPA and I believe the only place that carries them downtown. The pizza is delicious price is reasonable as well. I feel like it's a ritual after work to travel downtown just for the great vibes and atmosphere.

Royal Blue Grocery is a compact specialty market and cafe that has a great selection of beverages and specialty food items. The store is well lit spacious and has a nice wine, beer and other beverages section,. They also serve coffee, yes and light food choices. I was happy to see that they also have probiotic beverages including kombucha which keeps me healthy. A great store to have in the downtown area for San Antonio.
