Four Philly Breweries Team Up for a Beer Garden, and More Openings This Week | Eater Philly

"Replacing brunch spot Cafe Lift at 724 Montgomery Avenue, this new spot bills itself as serving “elevated comfort food,” including items like poutine with shaved rib eye, whiz, gravy, and fries, alongside wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza, beer, and cocktails; Josiah Richmond, formerly executive chef at Cafe Lift, is one of the partners. It’s open for takeout and outside dining with 75 patio seats, hours Tuesday to Sunday from 4–9 p.m." - Rachel Vigoda

The first thing that stood out was the customer service, our waiter Justin was amazing. He was attentive and personable, shared laughs with my family and was very professional. The food was really good, my chicken parm was a little burnt on the edges, but still very good. My wife had shrimp scampi, the portion was smaller then expected, but it was very tasty. My daughter had the bacon mac and cheese, which she didn't care for, but she was clearly being picky. The mac and cheese was AMAZING!!! The popcorn chicken for my son was nice and moist. We will be visiting again.

I just moved to the area and found Royal Cafe whilest driving along Montgomery Ave. the cafe has a great ambiance and perfect outdoor spot during the pandemic. I've been to the cafe twice so far, love their hot coffee! The first time around, I stopped for a sweet entree, it was french toast. The french toast was ok and left much to be desired. The second time around, I chose to have Colorado burger and it was great! They don't take meat temperature request because they use double thin patty as oppose to thick single patty. Great place overall and looking to come back more often.

My wife and I have came to new Royal Cafe. We have the grilled veggies and buffalo chickens wings as starters., just try it out, we like the veggies sautéed in bacon.. could add some heated olive oil in chopped garlic mix with bacon will give that aroma and enhance flavors..just my tastes..we have the lobster roll sandwiches.. & mustard slaw is nice touch, not dry at all. Dark Fries doesn’t fit the dish well., possible grilled red potatoes sautéed with rosemary is more suitable..I travel a lot and big foodie..always looking fun place to eat..

First time here: BEST DINING EXPERIENCE since Covid began. Good service, excellent variety in the menu. All the food was hot and fresh. Good portion sizes. Popcorn chicken was crazy tasty and tender. Trash ribs were great and good size. Narberth 5 alarm fire pizza was sloppy but so good (and fun twist with the bourbon on fire) Lobster roll was a good size (I thought it was slightly bland tasting but still good!). I had the apple cider old fashioned, and I never have mixed drinks out because I’m always disappointed, but this was not too sweet and just strong enough. Manager and owner asked how we were. Heat lamps throughout kept us warm even for a brisk October night outdoors. Seriously the most refreshing dining experience we have had in months. It felt so good to feel normal and eat good food again

We hope they re-open!!! We would all eat there several times per month. We loved the food and the atmosphere. My sister and her husband, who were visiting from California each found entrees they liked. My son and nephew were happy with their food and so was my mother and the rest of the family. Excellent in terms of space between our family and other tables during the pandemic. We were happy, because this is our bubble. If you're expecting the temperature to go down, let them know you'll want the outdoor heaters set up and turned on. But they'll already be fixing that!

My brother was visiting from Florida, and we had Sunday brunch. It was delicious! He really enjoyed the fried chicken Benedict, but especially loved the Bloody Mary rimmed with bacon and salt! My eggs Benedict was equally delicious, as was my mimosa! The service was spot on, as well, and I appreciated the manager stopping by to make sure we were enjoying our food! Always a wonderful experience at Royal!! Never disappoints!

Great pizza and burgers! The staff are equally amazing! They comp'd our drinks because we had a delay in getting seated although we had a reservation. Who does that!!! Definitely a great time. I will definitely be back. Only drawback was being seated on the street side of Montgomery Ave. There are some wild drivers on that road. 😵

This place is fantastic! 1st time here, hope to return soon. Food (hamburger and fries) were cooked perfectly and came to the table actually hot. Liz, our waitress was cordial and accurate with our order. Music wasn't too bad either. A real plus is all servers are vaccinated.
