Step into a vibrant Oriental setting for top-notch dim sum and authentic Hong Kong dishes, where attentive service matches the delicious fare.
"The last time you saw this person they were in the middle of disputing an Uber chunder fee and now they live with someone called Stephen, have two pet chickens, and can diagnose different types of plant fungus. The times, they are a-changin’. Now, you’re going to need an hour to cover the chickens alone, so a proper feast at Royal China is in order. This Cantonese restaurant is the place to be when you want a round of dim sum, a whole duck, fried udon, and fuck it, another round of dim sum. The food here is uniformly excellent and the views of the Thames won’t hurt either." - heidi lauth beasley
"Branches of Royal China all over London are open for delivery and takeaway. You should know that all the food at Royal China is great, but it’s the dim sum that we go back to again and again. Happily their Baker Street branch is delivering the full range." - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Steamed scallop dumplings, prawn cheung fun, and 25% off (up to £5 per person) Mondays to Thursdays throughout the whole of September are just three things you can get from this excellent Chinese restaurant on Baker Street." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
"Queues for London restaurants are commonplace these days but Royal China on Baker Street is one of the OG spots that’s had a line outside long before any algorithm. The more casual sibling to Royal China Club across the road, this legendary Cantonese restaurant channels the atmosphere of a dim sum convention, an airport terminal, and a wedding you’ve crashed—all at once. A faintly Orwellian tannoy crackles and calls numbers for the twitchy crowd waiting for their table, though that fades into the background for everyone in the vast, red-carpeted room because the focus is on dim sum. Slippery char siu cheung fun and wonderfully textured turnip cake should be on your table, and a bowl of crispy chilli beef never goes amiss. Although, frankly, everything hits. FYI it doesn’t take bookings on weekends, hence the bustle of families and friends at the door eager for xiao long bao, and if you’ve got a flare handy, it may be worth bringing for when you want more chilli oil." - Jake Missing
"Crab meat spinach dumplings, sautéed scallop, and 25% off (up to £5 per person) Mondays to Thursdays throughout the whole of October are just three things you can get from both Royal China Club’s Baker Street and Canary Riverside locations." - Rianne Shlebak
