Royal City of Loches

It was my third time, and I am still amaze everytime. The architectural design, the view the entrance. I still love going back when I have time. And it's free, you just need to pay if you want to go inside the Logis Royale. Have fun and enjoy the view. And the staffs are very kind and welcoming.

Interesting medieval site linked with the Donjon or Keep 5 mins away ,imposing site overlooking the wonderful City of Loches, wander around the rooms inside which are simply furnished as befitting the age of the site. Without a doubt, one of the most unique hotels I have stayed in. Super friendly staff. Fascinating town. We ate at the restaurant and really enjoyed it. What a treat to find something like this.

We paid 12 Euros each to visit the castle and the dungeon. It is very pretty and beautifully kept. I would not spend to see inside again as there isn't really a lot to see. A pretty town, great for a 2/3 hour stop off.

We went on Saturday market day and it was bustling with a pleasant atmosphere. We followed the marked trail up through the old town and then the castle and palace which was fascinating and picturesque.

Chateau and Royal Lodge set on a hill top overlooking the town of Loches. Access to the city is through an imposing gatehouse and narrow streets wind their way to the Logis Royale and Donjon. A joint ticket gives access to both at a reasonable price. The keep was closed for safety reasons.

Lovely old city, very well preserved, and lots to see. Plenty of restaurants and cafes, and a lovely park.

Beautiful fortress, was kind of disappointed tho to see the emptiness of the rooms. The jail and caves were preserved in good conditions .
