We had a wonderful time at the Royal Lancaster on a five night family trip. Lucy in Guest Relations warmly welcomed us (and also checked in on our departure), which was a very thoughtful touch. On arrival, it was a huge deal that our room was ready after our overnight flight. I had no expectation that this could happen and it was such a great surprise as it helped us freshen up quickly and tackle a first day of sightseeing. Our room was beautiful and we especially loved the large tub. Our kids very much enjoyed the special touches directed at them, like an in-room note and treat, smaller versions of robe/slippers and fun bath products. The view was also so pretty especially at night and we loved being across from Hyde Park. Everyone we came across was friendly and helpful, including reception, concierge, bell services, door man and dining. We very much enjoyed the breakfast. Even though it was crowded on the weekends, we were able to get promptly seated and served. It was a great way to start each day and I appreciate that the included cost allowed for both the buffet as well as a la carte made to order offerings. I’m bummed we didn’t get to try the other on-site dining options, especially Nipa Thai. We did appreciate the 24/7 in-room dining and the availability of many local and diverse restaurants. We made use of multiple transportation options and jaunted all over London and even to some sites a bit further away. While I can appreciate some deciding to stay more in the city center, for us, the size of the room and beds coupled with the park and other amenities at the hotel more than justified spending a little bit more time traveling to certain sites. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very much hope to return!
