Best lobster roll we’ve had on Oahu. Very similar to Luke’s. The meat is so tender. Only downside is their bread isnt toasted. Or grilled on butter. It is very expensive but it is very good. Even the chips are great! There is a 3.5 oz and a 7 oz. Had both.

Their lobster roll is the best I’ve ever had! The lobster itself is super fresh and the lightly toasted brioche was buttery and soft. Don’t be fooled by the mall food court location — this place is a hidden gem. I ordered the 5 oz, but next time I’m definitely going for the 7 oz. Totally worth the price!

Absolutely loved Royal Lobster. No fuss no frills just awesome food and drinks. The lobster roll is jam packed with tasty fresh lobster and the lobster salad was great as well. They also had a really nice bottle of Sauvignon blanc.

Good lobster roll. I prefer the butter lobster over the mayonnaise any day. The garlic aoili was delicious. I ordered the 5 oz lobster roll. Poured all the butter and aoili over the top of it and let the mess begin. I would prefer they fry the lobster in butter first before they serve it. Nothing beats a steaming hot and buttery lobster roll. 🤤 I just wished it didn't cost a kidney to eat. 🤣 4.5 stars from a very picky eater.

The picture I posted in this review was over $50. You tell me if it is worth it... lol. In terms of taste, it didn't taste good. My suggestion is to avoid this place if you want lobster. I honestly don't know how they manage to get so many great reviews.

The reviews here misled us visiting it twice since our first one found they were closed due to the New Year eve. Due to all those misleading review, we tried again 3 days later. Maybe all those not so happy never came to review it! That is why I like to give my experience here so that others will have more accurate picture of this eatery. It is a tiny food court station type or slightly better. From the old pictures, I thought it were a big and popular restaurant. It has 2 tables in side and 1 outside but you can sit at other tables in the building after entering the door next to its. The only dish available was the "Lobster Roll" with some chips and a small cup of salad. They don't provide those shown in the old pictures any more (e.g. salad, soup, tacos, etc.). So, it is a one dish food station. The roll was small. The pictures might have made it look bigger. It is about the size of six inch subway or even smaller. The taste is fine. But you can make it easily by sticking lobster meats into a brioche roll on your own. The taste would not be any different. For those who may not see lobsters often might get so excited since they can see chunks of meats there. Those meats were from the claws, rather than the lobster tails which are more attractive due to their chunky appearance, popular, and more expensive. It is expensive since each of us paid $40 for the amount of meat of one tail which costs probably $5 where we are from plus 1 brioche roll, some chips, and a cup of salad. The host was great, as friendly as all others we had met in Honolulu. But I think it was not worthy since we went there for foods and left with stomachs not empty but not full either. BTW, they do offer to add more meat with more fee. But we thought, from the pictures, the regular one would be enough for a meal. But I guess it was more like a rich snack.

First time eating a lobster roll and can’t imagine one tasting better! Have paid the same price for a lobster “something” with a piece of lobster the size of a thumbnail. Chose the 3.5 ounce size and savoured every delicious bite. All elements on point. Service was friendly/nice and will definitely go back!

I've been here before when they first opened. It's a small hidden place in Waikiki below street level under the stairway. A young couple in back were friendly and kind. You would have to order at the counter and wait till it's made. Two tables outside but more tables through the glass doors inside. The reason I like this place is because the filling in the sandwich is just all lobster. No other ingredients. Butter sauce on the side served with chips. Everything was fresh and tasty. So if you're in the mood for lobster, this is the place to come.

Super easy to order - lobster roll or lobster salad? I got the lobster roll to go and it was a good mix of claws AND regular meat! The Cole slaw was pretty good as well. When she handed me my roll the instructions were "pour the butter over the roll" - oooooh! Fun! To go packaging very nice even had the cutest lil baby packet of old bay seasoning aww. Can sit inside maybe one table in there, or right outside there's a few little mini tables since its adjacent to a food court type of thing, or even take to the beach if you can wait to dig in. It's probably best right away though. I had a hard time finding this place im really bad at directions so my advice is to pay attention better than me lol and remember it's down a very small set of stairs that you could easily miss if you're dumb like me.

Somewhat above average lobster roll with decent chunks of lobster - the lobster itself was chilled with a warm buttered bun, so it's overall kind of an odd lukewarm temperature. I liked that the lobster wasn't overcooked, but it'd be better if the lobster came hot instead of this strange temperature combination. I also found the warm buttered bun too oily/buttery, you have to eat it quickly before it cools. Market price was $30, which is a bit above prices in the east coast but I guess this is Hawaii. Service was polite and the food came out really fast. The seating area is kind of small and looks like it can fill up at peak times, but there was plenty of seating when I went around 5 pm.

This is our 2nd time dining here and every time we come to WAIKĪKĪ we make sure to eat here. They have the BEST lobster roll and lobster salad !! You will not be disappointed, Anna the pricing is about right since lobster is an expensive seafood !! They make it fresh for you and my salad tasted soooo good !! It's a small place and they have tables outside the actual store. This is a hidden hole in the wall gem!!

We're back!!! Royal Lobster is hands down one of the most hidden and amazing restaurants in Waikiki. First and foremost, where else can you get so much lobster for such an incredible price? Nowhere! Their lobster rolls are simply divine--buttery, tender, and a fiesta in your mouth! The Hawaiian rolls are perfectly toasted, making sure every bite is a delight. And don't even get me started on the coleslaw; it's some of the most delicious I've ever tasted. The staff here are the most humble and kind folks you'll ever meet. They truly make you feel welcomed and valued. Do yourself a favor and give them a visit! Let's take their business to a new level of success. You won't regret it!

Every year I go to Hawaii, I have to go here atleast once. The bread is so buttery(you can ask for more on the side if you want to) and the lobster is so flavorful. The price is around $30+ so just make sure you know that before you come here. That's the typical for lobster rolls in Hawaii that I've seen. I've tried in SF, farmers markets, Boston, nothing beats this lobster roll. Just try it.

Update 10/16/24: There is limited seating within Royal Lobster, but ample seating outside. The service is quick and efficient. The lobster roll and lobster salad is one of the best I've tasted. The lobster roll has about 4oz of actual Maine lobster tail and a piece of lobster claw for presentation. (See pic) Lobster Roll comes with chips and Cole slaw, and dab of their home made garlic mayo. This lobster roll is excellent. The lobster salad was also excellent. Fresh cherry tomatoes and fresh lettuce with a whole sliced lobster tail comprises this wonderful salad. The salad dressing was delicious and perfect for this salad. It has an Asian flavor to it. I highly recommend visiting Royal Lobster for lunch or dinner.

Quite the amazing lobster roll! The coleslaw was delish as well. Feels like you get more lobster pieces with the salad... but then it's a salad with arugula, and doesn't have the comfort food feel of the fluffy carbie bread. But at least they offer a "healthy" option. Service was quick, and they have shared seating with a couple of the restaurants that are downstairs. It's an easy grab-and-go place, if you want to take your lobster for the road.

Lobster Roll- is served cold Rate 4 out of 10 just by itself Does taste a little better when you pour the melted butter on the roll and dip it into the sauce. 7 out of 10. $29.99 before taxes. Service was amazing! Young lady who took our order was friendly and kind. Just the service alone is a 10/10. Environment was clean, small and cozy. Located under ground along a strip of other restaurants.

My absolute favorite place for lobster rolls. The lobster rolls have the perfect amount of lobster meat to bread ratio. I could honestly eat two in a sitting, because they are that good! Service is friendly and quick and there are a few tables inside and right outside the restaurant. The slaw and chips are perfect accompaniments.

About a 1-1.5: Royal Lobster has a simple menu - they offer either a Lobster Roll or a Lobster Salad, and you'll have to order in advance on their online system, as their items do tend to get low in stock/sold out quickly. We went for the Lobster Roll, which came with chips and the house coleslaw - unfortunately, we expected the lobster to be tender, juicy, and buttery, but it was in tiny chunks and super dried out; I just wished that they had a side of extra melted butter to make it more moist? The coleslaw was not dressed well and was bland; the chips were fine. Staff was friendly. +rubbery lobster +online ordering +friendly service

Highly recommend Royal lobster to anyone visiting Waikiki. It's an absolute must visit. They only have two things on the menu lobster salad or a lobster roll. If you love lobster rolls you might need to get more than one, but you will feel super full-- they were amazing and the service was incredible kind and beautiful Women making the best lobster rolls I've ever had! Delicious. It's hidden next to some restaurants don't miss it. The amount of o look better you get is insane. Yea you pay market price so it's not cheap but well worth it. Straight lobster no filler. The chip and slaw that come with it are tasty as well. Grab a beer and enjoy.

You know a place is good when it's constantly sold out. The lobster was splendid. Food was out quick too and the staff was so helpful. I asked if they can text me when they're restocked and she did! Now that's service. It's a casual place, but it's high-quality lobster. 10/10 would recommend.

Came to Royal Lobster, and it was everything I imagined it would be. The lobster roll itself was delicious, with the lobster so meaty and buttery that every bite was filled with goodness. The cost of the roll is sold at market price and comes with house chips, coleslaw, and a garlic mayo sauce that is everything. The roll is about 6 inches but it's good enough to hit the spot. The location is downstairs, and they offer limited seating. Once you arrive, you place your order, and they bring your roll to you. They only have the lobster roll and a lobster salad, so choose wisely.

Cute little hole in the wall. Located in Waikiki Sopping Plaza. Lots of validated parking. Located in the basement with other dining. Right off Kalakaua Ave down the steps. Very clean and friendly service. Lobster roll $29.99 extra $12. Roll is packed with fresh lobster,served on a wood plate with utensils and cloth napkin, fancy. The shop is in the basement level of the plaza. A bit hard to find. They have a few tables inside and some more outside. We came during a day when they have a buy one get one half off special. The lobster rolls were good. Every bite had lots of meat and it was buttery.

Best lobster rolls on the island. I love lobster rolls that are pure meat compared to ones with fillers or ones that use mayo. I like my roll with squeeze of lemon, a little bit of the aioli and old bay seasoning. The coleslaw is also really good. Service is quick and they have a few tables inside and outside you can eat at.

When you're craving a hearty meal, Royal Lobster is the place. Never been a fan of franchise lobster restaurants, but the friendliness of the staff and the quality of food hit the spot. This is one of the cleanest places I've ever seen in Waikiki, ready to bring my visitors staying in Waikiki.

Drove 45 mins to Waikiki just to taste this lobster roll again. It's been 2 years and I still remember how to get here, it's just that good. Fresh lobster soft roll with butter pairs perfectly. No notes.

Divine. Located down the steps of the plaza, it's a bit tucked away but worth finding. You have 2 options: lobster sandwich or lobster salad. I opted for the first. Added the extra lobster for $12 and it was so so worth it. Little outside area to eat, they even had old bay seasoning, not that you need it. Lobster pieces were big and looked like it was freshly pulled from the shell. Only thing that could be improved was if we asked to have it slightly warmed (and this is in no way a critique, just personal preference) Check in on Yelp and you get a free soda. So ono!

THE BEST LOBSTER ROLL I have had in a minute ! It's priced at market but they do not skimp you on the meat at all babyyyy! The woman working was so sweet and informed us about everything on our plate. She also heard my mom and aunt speaking about splitting the roll and she cut it and half before serving the table (it's the smallest details for me) . Everyone enjoyed the rolls!

Cashier was extremely nice and she brought our meal to our table. Chill place to have lunch and slow down from the busy streets of Waikiki. They have lobster roll or lobster salad at $29.99 each so why not order both? The salad: perfectly dressed, healthy portion size and full lobster tail and claws with a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. The roll: well buttered and STUFFED with fresh and perfectly cooked lobster. Buttery!!

Amazing Lobster Roll! Not the cheapest, and in a very difficult location to find, but when you get there, you will be greeted by a friendly staff, and served a perfectly prepared Lobster Roll, made simply. No gimmicks here, just a classic Lobster Roll served with a small side of chips and slaw. They step up the ambiance by instead of just putting in a styrofoam box, the presentation is nicely plated and served to you on real plates with silverware. Market price was about $30 when we were there.

Omg this is some Buttery soft lobster definitely a MUST TRY while in Waikiki underground location but easy to find! Only two options on the menu but it's so Worth it... please don't forget to check in and get your free drink! The aioli sauce with the chips was also amazing dipped our lobster roll with it and I could lick the whole sauce up!!! Customer service the lady served us up brought everything to us. Small cute local business would come back again!!! Plenty of seating ... this plate cost about $29.99 but like I said WORTH every penny!!

If you in Waikiki then this is a spot for a lobster roll, the lobster meat is not shredded like some places but at Royal Lobster it's chunks like they just pulled it out of the lobster itself, this roll come with chips and slaw and butter a creamy sauce with a dash of old bay. The service there was cool gave me no problems just simple order and serve. Check them out if you in the Waikiki area or just playing tourist.

Very delicious food. Small joint with few seats inside but many seats outside. The lobster roll is very delicious but expensive for the size and amount of lobster. It seems like the price changes based on the market price of the lobster as I saw a sign inside the restaurant but I was shocked at the price. The service is great and staff friendly.

Butter, lobster, bread, what more could you need. This lobster roll was great with the highlight being the buttery brioche bun. The butteriness and crispness of the bun really make this roll. There is plenty of lobster on the roll which is great. The only thing I'd suggest is adding some seasoning, either some old bay or just some salt to improve that lobster flavor. The slaw was good but not above average and same for the chips. Overall a great lobster roll that you can't get like this in too many places.

Lobster roll and coleslaw were amazing. For $12 extra you can add more lobster to your roll, so hubby and I had the 5 oz roll and split it. The person at the counter was lovely. Small but comfortable area is just outside the establishment. Parking in the garage was validated for three hours. If you park in the garage, use the elevator go to the lower level/"B" and you'll get right there (just walk to the end of the lower level and you'll find them just next to the stairs!).

Definitely the best lobster sandwich outside of Boston that I've had in a very long time. I think it's the butter... side of Maui chips...i think they were Maui cups... a delicious coleslaw... and some sauce on the side that I wish i had more of on the side. They give a free drink with check in! #yelperfriendly

Delicious. Definitely try these lobster rolls at least once. There are only two things on the menu - lobster salad or lobster rolls. We tried the lobster rolls and it is perfect. The lobster was so decadently fresh and buttery. No fillers, just super fresh delicious lobster. My SO said it was the best lobster roll he'd ever had and we've tried quite a few. The roll was lightly toasted and paired well, as did the coleslaw. Very pricey but definitely worth a splurge. They have seats outside and a couple indoors as well, it's a tight space but very clean from what I could see. Highly recommend.

Well on my birthday trip to Waikiki, Honolulu Hi my wife and I were out checking the shops and the beach. We start looking for a seafood lunch spot and found this diamond in the rough. The Royal Lobster is a very special and awesome seafood spot. The lobster rolls that both my wife and I had was so very fresh, juicy and tasty. It was served with some fresh made cole slaw which so good for this country boy, and with fresh chips. I had a local beer and my wife had a sparkling water- grapefruit. The lobster price is at market value and on a hot dog bun, but still AWESOME! We totally enjoyed our experience here and we may get back before flying back to ATL Maholo ~ I Holla

This place is a rip off. For $34 per lobster which is the size of a small hot dog, you get like 7 pieces of chips and a small side of Cole slaw with a can of soda/juice. The side of mayo is a probably 3-4 drops. It's very average at best.

Bun was great... lobster not so great. Lobster had No taste. Fries were okay. Small little hole-in-the wall.

Service was quick and easy. Food was delicious, and also a little messy! The roll came with coleslaw and potato chips. If you are looking for cheap, this isn't for you. Little on the expensive side but that's expected when it's lobster! Location is underneath the street and tucked away in the corner. Not a great sit down spot but fantastic to grab n go!

Came across this place on Yelp while searching for Lobster. This Lobster Roll was really really delicious. The bread was soft and the lobster pieces were huge and plentiful. There was a seasoning packet included which I sprinkled a little bit on the lobster. There was also a creamy sauce which I used to dip my potato chips in. You can add the creamy sauce to your lobster roll if you like. If you checkin on Yelp while you're there you'll get a non alcoholic drink for FREE!! Be warned this place you'll need to go down a flight of stairs and there's no elevator. I have a slight disability, therefore it was difficult for me to go up and down the stairs. I used the handrails to assist. Check this place out when you're in the Waikiki area. You won't be disappointed.

I've had lobster rolls in Boston and these the best I've had. The Lobster is tender, sweet, fresh with a buttery flavor. They were so good I had to go back the next day for another one. I highly recommend if you are in the area stop by, and the fresh chips along with the garlic aioli is the perfect paring.

Got the lobster roll with extra lobster for $42. Lobster was tasty, sides were inconsequential. Roll was drenched in half a stick of butter. Good to try once, but I'm not sure it deserves the current high reviews.

When I tell you this was the best lobster roll I have ever had in my life, I mean it. I dream about it. From the butter brushed roll, to the absolutely delicious coleslaw, perfectly crisp house made chips, to the succulent and large pieces of lobster, it is something worth fan girling over.

This is my second visit to Royal lobster and I'm a huge fan! These aren't your typical lobster rolls, as they are packed with large pieces of lobster meat (fyi:each roll contains a full tail, claw and knuckle). All of this delicious lobster is served on a brioche roll, lightly seasoned with warm butter. If you're in the mood for a great lobster roll, I'd recommend heading to Royal lobster. *restaurant validates parking in the Waikiki shopping plaza * lobster rolls are limited, once they sell out they're done for the day. I usually head in when they open (they open @1130)
