We had a good experience at Royal Spice Indian Restaurant at the beginning of September. The restaurant is in Dunwoody Village, the sprawling outdoor shopping center, and we almost drove past it when we were trying to locate it. Lots of parking can be found, and parking is free.
This is a clean restaurant, with great service and good food. Our server, who was the only employee out front, was attentive, even though he was taking care of the few customers who ate inside and all of the take out orders. He immediately greeted us when we entered the restaurant, and told us to sit wherever we wanted. We sat down, the server brought us menus and took our drink orders. When he came back within a couple of minutes with our drinks, he took our food order which we were going to share. We ordered Saag Paneer, which was spinach cooked with homemade cheese (Paneer) in a special creamy sauce, and it came with a bowl of basmati rice. We also ordered chicken tikka masala at a medium spice level, and some naan.
There were a few tables outside, in front of the restaurant, for customers to enjoy their meals al fresco.
After an almost 20 minute wait, our food was served. The food seemed fresh; however, the chicken tikka masala wasn't spicy at all. All the food items had good flavor the way they were, but the portions were rather small compared with other Indian restaurants that we've eaten at. During the meal, our server came by a few times during our meal to check on us and to see if we wanted anything else, and filled my water glass multiple times without me asking.
