15 Best Spots to Eat Under $25 on Sandy Springs’ Restaurant Row | Eater Atlanta

"One of two locations, the other in Dunwoody Village, this restaurant keeps pricing simple: $18.95 for all dishes with lamb, goat, or fish and $16.95 for anything with chicken. Treat yourself to garlic cheese naan or onion kulcha with the savings, or max out with a mixed tandoori for $23.95, which includes three types of meat, including chicken, lamb tikka, and shrimp." - Su-Jit Lin

I visited this place with colleagues. The service was quick and good, and the atmosphere was decent. For food, they use vegetable oil for all their cooking. In appetizers, we ordered chili paneer, which was decent, Indian hot, which everyone liked, and gobi manchurian, which my colleagues enjoyed. I ordered aloo chaat, which was okay but a bit bland. For the main course, we had dal makhani, which I found too creamy, and kadhai paneer, which wasn’t great. We also ordered soups, and I’d recommend all of them — they were really good. I had the coconut soup, and it was delicious. We also tried mango lassi, which was quite good.

Google
Royal spice is my most favorite restaurants i ever ate from. They have the best naan bread and the most devouring chicken tandoori. And last of all the yummy mango lassi. I roccemend for you to go try Royal spice.

Google
Beautiful restaurant with great service and strong flavors! I just went here with my family before i start my school semester and it was such a great experience!!

Google
Today was my first visit but it won't be my last. The chana masala was so delicious, the veggie samosa was really good as was the garlic Naan. I had my very first mango lassi and it was incredibly good. The pics don't do it justice because I got it to go and wolfed it down on paper plates. Next time I plan to dine in.

Google
Thamid was the gentleman who served me. He was awesome! They gave me exquisite service and their quality WAY outweighs their prices. I looked them up on Google and they came out on top, now I know why! If you go in, TIP Thamid well, he goes above and beyond. He recommended the garlic naan bread with my chicken tikka masala. Their rice was also incredible. They make it in butter or something I presume, but it had so much flavor, I just ate it straight!

We like the ambiance and like the food. We had ordered chicken 65 and Chicken Roast with garlic naan and food was delicious. We finished everything didn’t get chance to take pictures as we were really hungry. I would recommend at least what we have tried, other things you can try and let me know so I can try that too😀 I saw they have lunch under $10, and express lunch special starting at $11.99 (attached menu) which is exciting. Will be back soon.

I had the pleasure of dining at Royal Spice last night, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, but it was the food that got me writing this review. I ordered the Curry Goat, White rice, and Garlic Naan, which was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, flavorful, and literally fell off the bone. The curry sauce was rich, creamy, and had just the right amount of spice. Not extra, which was surprising lol. I was blown away by the depth of flavors in this dish! To accompany my meal, I ordered the Garlic Naan, which was freshly baked and more delicious than expected. The perfect balance of crispy crust and garlic absolute deliciousness when deep into the creamy curry sauce. The service was top-notch, very friendly, polite, and kind. The price was really good, and you get a really good portioned-out food. Overall, I highly recommend Royal Spice to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The combination of outstanding food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service makes it a must-visit destination for foodies and anyone looking for a great meal out.

Google

Yelp
Really good food. I took a star off just bc even though the lunch special is technically starting at $11.99, with tip and tax, it comes out to $20+. Still good amount of food--I got the lunch special with bhuna chicken as my choice for curry. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chickpea side that was part of the special, a tad bitter, but still good and I believe it just isn't my taste profile (other ppl could love it). Service was great, shoutout to Sam! Ambiance is elevated casual, you could stop in here for a solo bite or a catch up lunch with a friend.

Yelp
We ordered the Chicken 65 Biryani & Shrimp Biryani from Uber Eats. They absolutely have no flavor and lack of or rather, no seasoning/spice which is pretty ironic given the restaurant name is Royal Spice. We have never eaten Biryani so bland before. Both protein also have no flavor. We definitely do not recommend this place if you are looking for good biryani.

Yelp
Both employees I interacted with were lovely. I'd definitely want to dine in in the future. I can only speak to the tadka dal and the garlic naan. They were both solid. I ordered "hot" and it was the perfect spice level for me. The dal had a great consistency and was piping hot when I picked it up.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, I originally had the one in Duluth and was bragging to my mom how great the food is but we moved to Sandy springs so we went to this location and it was so so sooo good! And the lunch specials are great deals. She said she will definitely be back and I know I will too.

Yelp
We are here visiting the area and saw there is a huge indian population! This place was recommended to us by family and friends so we had to give it a try! The service was good and our waitress was a total sweetheart. The restaurant has two stories and not much decor, but it is in a corner lot location with easy parking in the front and back. The food was immaculate! 1. Butter Chicken - the tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly in the buttery cream curry sauce. The garam masala they used was tasty and was such a treat for us all. 2. Chicken 65, Gobi (Cauliflower) 65 - such a pleasing appetizer! Fried goodness and those spices..yum! Do not miss this here. 3. Tikka Masala with lamb - such a classic dish and the tomato based curry sauce mixed well with the tender lamb chunks. 4. Paneer TIkka - I have never been a huge fan but I've had this numerous ways over the years. This was one of the better versions. 5. Garlic Naan - the portion size and taste of this is worth the trip itself! Could eat this Naan every day. 6. Korma - I was not a fan of this one, although I could see other people really liking it. To me, it lacked flavor and was missing something. I got mine with chicken. I asked the waitress for a hot sauce to kick it up a bit and that did elevate it. 7. Rice - it was aromatic, and perfectly cooked jasmine rice that complimented everything. Not overdone and just right. With all the indian options in town, this is one that keeps it traditional and if I lived here, I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Delicious authentic Indian cuisine at very good prices. Polite, attentive staff. Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Upstairs level for more intimate ambiance. Will return.

Yelp
This low-key restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Sandy Springs - on Hammond Drive across the street from the strip mall that contains Whole Foods. It occupies the venue that used to contain Loving Hut. It's a casual, warm, and welcoming vibe upon entry. There's a TV one on of the walls displaying the specials for the day as well as additional items (e.g., desserts). I also liked that the menu was reasonably straightforward in its layout, separating the vegan/vegetarian items from the other entrées. For lunch, it comes with a mulligatawny soup and choice of potential upgrade for certain appetizers/breads. The mixed vegetable dish was simple but tasty and filled me up much more than expected. The lamb vindaloo was comparably satisfying. Note that you can also specify the level of spiciness (mild, medium, hot) for your dishes. Service was friendly and straightforward. All in all, it was great for a quick fix to grab Indian food.

Yelp
Lunch special is amazing. Under 12$ for a variety of amazing food. We got a soup, pakora, naan, rice and two curries. We recommend the tikka masala over the vindaloo. I took home half for later.

Asher G.

Yelp
Food is amazing and servers are very nice. Simple food done right. Get the garlic naan; it's one of the best breads I've had. Also restaurant is new so looks clean and nice. Go support!

Yelp
Got takeouts from here and they were solid but not amazing. Portion size was generous, heat level, medium, was spot on for all 3 dishes I tried, and the naan was great. Overall flavor was fine but I've definitely had better chicken saag, vindaloo, and vegetarian currys.

Yelp
This place is spare but sweet. The decor is simple and uncluttered. The young lady who served us was lovely, knowledgeable, and on point. The food. The seasoning is as requested. Not hotter nor milder the flavours were nicely combined. I can't speak to the rice but my dinner partner thought it was perfect. It's a good neighbourhood Indian place to have in your dinner out rotation.

Yelp
The Monday thru Friday lunch special is great. Best value in Sandy Springs and extensive selection of items. The food is cooked perfectly and is always fresh. Great service every time I've gone. It's so good ity 1st weekly spot for lunch. Far better than anything around.

Yelp
My son and I celebrated my birthday at Royal Spice Indian Restaurant in Sandy Springs. Islam, our waiter, gave us great service and was patient and helpful with answering all our questions. We started our meal with tasty Samosas. Next, I ordered the Vegetable Curry and my son, the Butter Chicken. In addition, we ordered two breads: Tandoori Roti and Naan. All arrived on time and flavored to our spice specifications. For dessert, we ordered two rice puddings, and Islam opted to give me a slice of mango cheesecake as an additional dessert. The cheesecake was fantastic! It was a lot of food and we were amazed we had enough to eat for lunch the following day. I was pleased to see the updates that were done from the previous restaurant: new flooring, freshly painted walls, new entryway, new artwork, wainscotting on the walls, and additional seating. It was the perfect place to celebrate my special day and we will be sure to come back again to enjoy more of the tasty entrees on their menu.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place. Chicken 65 should be on everyone's "I need to try that" list. Great food and great staff.

Lydia N.

Yelp
It wasn't busy and they made the food quickly. I think I think I got the Tadka Dal and Chana Saag with basmati rice and naan. It was all flavorful and the naan tasted great and fresh.

Cheryl D.

Yelp
Food! Service ! Everything was great! Will definitely come back!! We ordered the garlic cheese nan, lamb, and chicken tandoori!!

Elliott B.

Yelp
The food here is EXCELLENT! I had their lunch special today and it was really good. Enough food to cover dinner for later. They offer many options for most any palate and different levels of spice for the daring. I will definitely be back.
