I have only been to Royale Boston twice so far in my life to date, but each time has been so incredibly memorable! I first came to Royale in 2011 for Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" album tour with Jaytech opening. What a night that had been! Place was packed!
Then just this past Friday the 16th of January, 2026, I came to Royale to support my friend and one of my favorite artists, Kaeno (Deon Butler) for his Nefarious Things album tour kickoff!! Local Boston talent Drainiac warmed things up with some seriously proper Trance and Progressive, then Kaeno took the stage and absolutely leveled the dancefloor! Kaeno was followed by Sarah de Warren (who delivered a set full of raw, powerful Techno reminiscent of the late 90s Techno) and Scottish powerhouse, David Forbes (his set was predominantly Tech Trance, sprinkled with a few Trance Classics that has a Techy twist)! Everybody had one hell of a killer time (from doors opening at 10 pm til shut down time at 2 am).
The atmosphere at Royale Boston is unmatched, the layout is well thought out and spacious, plenty of room to get your freak on on the dancefloor. And it has nice touches harkening back to its days when it uses to be an opera house! Staff for the most part is friendly and cordial, security is a bit uptight, but hey, they're security, whaddya want?!
Drinks however are expensive as all get out, so if you're going to be imbibing a lot, expect to empty your wallet. Coat check is only $5 bucks, so that's easy enough.
So if you're looking for a night out on the town and are ready to dance your ass off or at the least vibe to the rhythm and beat of the music (like I always do), then look no further than Royale Boston at 279 Tremont Street in the Theater District of Beantown!
