UPDATE: (wrong business name but correct review). I got food at Babs Korean Bistro near them and stop in RoyalTea for a drink for the first and decided to tey a few. The customer and drink were okay. I got 3 but there was only 1 I really liked. So the next I visited Babs, I stopped in to give it another go. It was different later time of day in the early evening. I do not know if it was same staff but both times they were not so open. The second visit it was hard to even make the order with language barrier between the myself trying to ask for the item and the young asian lady trying comprehend. I do not think her english is very good. She had to ask another employee to take my order. Her english is better but there was still some trouble. Thankfully they have a large photographic menu on the wall and I could point to the menu item. I only got the drink but it longer to get the drink than it last time when I go three. It is a small spot but they only serve drinks but it was hard to keep social distance in a place with an unusual floor plan with tight stair well and entry point. The waiting area is not roomy at all either. They should consider putting up a sign to limited how many customers can be in the store at one time. Its interesting spot and you might like trying their drinks. But after giving a go not once but twice I honestly cannot say it was the best experience or that I would go again. There was the one drink I like but I do remember the name and the not-so good experience trying to find and get it the second time around didnt balance out the desire the go back any time soon. You may have a different experience. I will let you decide. One of the three was the strawberry drink which normally serve with cheese but you do have the options with some drink to have ice cream instead. I choose the later. When I ask about thiscthe second time, I was told something different. Which also affect my experience there and decision to possibly not going a third time.

A review has to be personal, only then a person can believe what they have not experienced personally but have read - and I want to give you my real thoughts. So I am sure you know this feeling: you walk around town and feel really good about yourself because you’ve accomplished everything you ever wanted. What does an accomplished person pursue? A tea soft drink. Wanted to go to the place right next door and inhale a matcha you know how it is. But right as I wanted to enter that store I saw two persons portraying the purchase of royal tea drinks. And I was like : “damn that’s like google maps reviews but in real life I have to respect that!” So I entered royalties. The whole place is so so I wouldn’t really want to spend more time in the store than necessary. You put your order in by using a huge touch screen menu they have set up for their servants (haha because they’re royalty?). It worked fine. I had a Thai tea and was not disappointed although it was a little 2 sweet despite me putting in the order that it shouldn’t be super sweet. It was a fairly enormous portion. Not sure whether anyone needs that but if so then this place is personally perfect for you. Peace!

Google
The taro milk tea is delicious (got with jelly and it tasted like Chè viet dessert). Too bad I barely got to drink any because my cup was packed full of ice >:0 the kiosk didn’t give the option to change the ice level on this one drink. So pissed.

Google
I love bubble tea and this is one of the worst bubble tea I’ve tried. The roasted oolong milk tea was so diluted, it tasted like water. The honey bubbles was def not soaked in honey. I do not recommend. Even onezo that is close by is better. Note to owner: adding milk instead of ice should not make the tea more diluted. Adding sugar should not make the tea tastier.

I’m not a bougie bubble tea drinker, I just enjoy simple things done well. Fresh ingredients and novel combinations/flavors when available (ie dragonfruit green tea or strawberry/lychee cheese foam). But sometimes you just want a classic taro or coffee milk tea with boba. This place was my OG spot when I used to live in the neighborhood, and no matter what I ordered, it never disappointed!

Google
Me and my friend really enjoy the Cheese Mango drink. (We usually order the 100% sugar, 0% ice with black pearls). While the place isnt perfect and can sometimes get things wrong, the majority of times I've been there my order has been correct, and it's definetely a place that I stop by while I'm around the city, with it being a very nice meetup place with friends.

Google
Came to pick up my order Peach Oolong with regular cheese. The tea was plain (no cheese at all). The employee told me I need to pay more for cheese (?!). Thanks to Grubhub for refund. It seems that the only employee is very overwhelmed.

Google
I ordered hot bubble tea but what I got was boiling hot and I could barely hold it. I asked for something to insulate it for my hands and the lady said I needed to pay extra.

Yelp
Nothing too amazing with this Royaltea, just a solid spot to get some bubble tea! The space was a bit small, but had some seating around if you wanted to get a drink and sit. Service was quick with getting the drink itself which was nice. Flavor was good, bubbles were okay, and price was decent. Overall, solid spot and a good contender for the area.

Yelp
ordered the cheese mango slush,I think they have used the freshest mangoes of the season and paired with a refreshing green tea base. I eat real mango pulp! love it

Yelp
I like their milk tea and ordered it couple times, taste has not changed. The sweetness is just right and the price is reasonable . The service attitude is good.

Yelp
Located on busy Beacon Street, Royaltea's one of the few boba shops on this street. Parking is okay, it's street parking but it's T accessible. Pretty good boba tea shop if you're in the Brookline area. They have a small variety of milk teas and fruit teas, but they're all made with higher quality products. They are on the pricier side, so I don't gravitate on coming here. I usually get a boba milk tea or oolong milk tea with ice cream or their house fruit tea. Really smooth milk teas and I love the additional creaminess whenever I add ice cream. Very easy to order and the service is fast. Nothing amazing but it's not terrible. Just a nice shop to go to if you're not willing to go to Allston/ Chinatown.

Yelp
Hands down Royaltea is on my top two list for best bubble tea! Excited to make a review for it. This was my first time visiting the Brookline location. The passion fruit yogurt tea with the tapioca boba is a refreshing treat. The boba was soooo soft and tasted fresh. The tea itself has lime garnishes that go well with the passion fruit flavor.

Yelp
Recently discovered Royaltea and I have to say that it's amazing! My boyfriend and I literally had their drinks 2 days in a row after trying it for the first time because we were amazed at how good their drinks are!! Their drinks are so fresh that you can taste all the fruit pulps, and their boba balls are really good too (none of that hard, day-old tasting stuff). I always get the strawberry slush with cheese + boba, and I have never had a bad experience. I love strawberries and they have big chunks of strawberries in the drink! Overall, I feel like the price is a bit on the high end for boba. So I would say that Royaltea is an every now and then boba place, not a typical boba run shop. However, they are really good quality and I would say that it's difficult to find such quality at other places. Ordering pickup through UberEats is also a smooth experience. Be sure to stop by and give Royaltea a try!

Yelp
we stopped in here for some boba a few weeks back. the place has contactless ordering and you can go up to the counter to order as well. the counter has plexiglass all around separating the customers from the staff. we ordered the ice cream milk tea and an oolong milk tea. both were tasty. we both said we would like a stronger tea profile in the drink as the milk was over powering everything. not sure if i would stop in again.

Yelp
Oof... I wish this place lived up to the hype it has on here, but I did not have a great experience. Maybe it's because I came at 8pm when they were about to close... I wanted to try their bobo milk but they sold out of it, so I got a brown sugar milk tea instead. The milk tea barely had any tea flavor, and it felt watered down. I also got pearls with my drink. The pearls were way overcooked to the point where they weren't even chewy (the pearl would just collapse as soon as I bit into it). The pearls also had no flavor at all. Before trying the pearls here, I always assumed that pearls weren't supposed to have flavor, but this was when I truly understood what a plain, flavorless pearl could taste like. And I wish I didn't have to experience that. Their ordering system is nice-- there's a big kiosk at the front which you can use to order and pay with your card if you're avoiding human interactions. But the staff are also able to take your order if you wish.

Yelp
Small location but offers a variety of milk teas with or without the cheese. I was surprised to find that a large touch screen kiosk ordering is available. It was very self explanatory and easy to use, but it only accepts credit card or mobile payment. I would assume that if you wanted to pay with cash, you'd need to order directly from the staff and give exact change. I ordered the Medium taro slush (total came out to a little over $7 with taxes), and it was less of a solid smoothie consistency and more of a melted ice cream consistency. It tasted very good even with 50% sugar, BUT I have to take off a star for it's tapioca pearls that were lacking in the "chewiness" department. The pearls weren't completely mushy, but they also didn't have that slight gummy, bounciness that we all love in our boba drinks. Overall, it was a refreshing drink to have on a 90+ degree summer day.

Yelp
YUSSSSSS! Another good bubble tea chain in the Brookline area! I have been eyeing the opening of this place and trying out this new location. I got a couple of drinks delivered including the peach oolong cheese foam with honey boba and watermelon pineapple with lychee jelly. I have definitely got to say an amazing job with the cheese foam and tea ratio with the correct cover to drink both at the same time. It's a perfect drink for a stand-alone snack or a great drink with any meal! On the other hand, the watermelon pineapple drink was good, since they use real fruit pieces, but since I added lychee jelly topping that taste was too overpowering. Although this place is a bit on the higher end of bubble teas if you want to splurge, I'd highly recommend getting one of the cheese foam teas!

Yelp
First cheese, and so yum. Exactly as imagined - slightly salty, frothy/creamy, lightly sweet cheese cap atop top quality tea! The green oolong was perfect @ 25% sweetness. Refreshing and full-bodied. The dragonfruit smoothie tasted fresh w real magenta dragonfruit (the kind in TW), not syrupy or overly sweet. Baristas super helpful and friendly! So happy RoyalTea is here, Will def be back!

Yelp
Grabbed a milk bubble tea with 25% sugar and it tasted super diluted. More like milk than anything. Sugar level was also lower than expected (or at least not up to par with other chains since I always choose the lowest sugar level). I'll give this another shot when I'm back in Coolidge Corner. Glad to have a spot in the area, but it's odd it's next to OneZo considering it's quite a walk to the next bubble tea option.

Yelp
Horrible service. Ordering station was broken and the lady just kept telling me to try rather than taking our order. After our order finally went through.. she just kept doing other task and did not bother with our order, proceeds to start chatting on her phone ignoring us. (Our group was the only group there.

Yelp
the fruit overload tea was pretty good and satisfying. good presentation. the ordering process is something else. could be a bit cleaner inside.
google avatar

Chrissy L.

Yelp
The yogurt drinks were pretty good - lemon, passion fruit, and mango- were all tasty. The Thai iced tea, not so much - flavor was a bit off. The biggest issue though was the wait. We waited 20 min for our order while the person making the teas kept making drinks for pick up orders that weren't even getting picked up. There was only one person in the entire shop. Probably not her fault- management needs to not be so cheap and add another person to help make drinks. The taste wasn't special enough for us to go back with so many other shops in the area, but it'll do in a pinch.

Yelp
This is the best boba place in Boston! Please make sure to stop by and support this business. There are online ordering options available in addition to in person and app delivery services like DoorDash. Try to support the business by ordering directly from them in person or via their website. I've visited several times during the pandemic and have noticed how the staff is always wearing masks properly and working hard to ensure orders are fulfilled on time. My favorite item on the menu is the Taro Milk Tea. Their boba is delicious and fresh, unlike a lot of other boba places! I recently visited and accidentally ordered the wrong item from their online site - FYI the Fresh Taro Milk is a totally different drink than the Taro Milk Tea. They graciously remade my drink, which I super appreciate because I live far from Brookline and had made a significant drive over. Thank you so much, Royal Tea Brookline! Please keep up the great work.

Yelp
First time here. Came on a Saturday afternoon and were out of almost half their menu. We then asked what options they had and couldn't answer. Not the most welcoming answer

Yelp
Had no idea this location existed! A bit more convenient than the one right in the middle of Boston. Got what I always get, the cheese black grape freeze. SUPER delicious as always, Royaltea never disappoints!!

Yelp
Every time I come, I have to buy milk tea and fruit tea. His family is very delicious, and the staff are also very good!

Yelp
It is so amazing. This place is awesome. I love the boba and the fruit tea is the best one. They service pretty nice. I love it so much
google avatar

Clift G.

Yelp
Excellent natural tea with no chemicals. They are open to custom orders and prompt. Matcha latte with cheese cant be beat!

Lei C.

Yelp
Drinks are average but services are terrible. I was there at noon and saw a topless male employee keeping the door locked and playing with his phone inside. I wouldn't enter this disgusting place if I don't need to pick up a delivery for my client.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Bubble tea for adults! Such variety/so many options! They use real fruit in their drinks! So clean and refreshing tasting! My current favorite is pomelo coconut with tapioca. It's very popular so sometimes there is a bit of a wait but so worth it!!!
google avatar

Jasmin J.

Yelp
This is now my go-to bubble tea shop. There are so many delicious options. The fruit teas have actual fruit pieces in them, which makes it that much more worthwhile. Their cheese foam is my favorite in the city.

Vy H.

Yelp
Worse customer service ever. I ordered my drink and right after put in my phone number it's showing that I have a free topping reward. Didn't intend to use it either. I was going to ask the guy who took my order if my drink come with the topping. The other girl who works there didn't even let me finish my sentence. I guess she thought that I ask for my free topping or something. She yelled right into my face and said " too late, you can get it next time". This makes me feel so uncomfortable and I wouldn't expect the place like this is giving such a poor customer service. I would give them o start if I could

Yelp
I ordered online via Yelp, went in to pick up my order of bubble tea and come to find out that they were out of boba and hadn't even started doing my order. I had to wait another 30 min to get bubble tea (only 3 drinks!), and the staff was not willing to provide a discount or additional bubble tea for the issues on the order and the extra wait. I usually like this spot, so I am pretty disappointed in the service after this experience.

Rebe B.

Yelp
This is my favorite bubble tea in the city. I usually get the cheese strawberry tea, it's so good! The wait time can be a bit long, but I usually just get Uber eats.
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
One of the best boba tea I ever had. The bubble are so good and same with tea. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Shaanti R.

Yelp
AMAZING! So many different flavors of tea! The grapefruit boba was the best drink I ever had. I love the floral taste. It's so sweet. I'm addicted to this place. I come here three times a week- sometimes four. I'm always craving the boba here.

Ryan M.

Yelp
I always liked royaltea as my usual bubble-tea place. Today I found this new drink only in brookline location called " red bean caramel pudding milk" it taste soooo good. Usually i would just come and get their fruit teas and milk teas, but now i'm in loved with the new drink! Recommend.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Their taro milk was very good! Rich and decadent just the way real taro milk should be. Also, their tapioca balls were chewy and good quality. Would come again.

Tyler Y.

Yelp
Ok first of all the ordering process was horrible. they had one screen to order on which was a horrible design choice. It took me 3 minutes to order a simple drink, which at a different place took me probably 1 minute to order. Then they took 30 minutes to put my order out. And they messed up my order. I paid for jelly, which was clearly stated on my receipt and on the cups label, and there was none in my drink. Also some of the boba was over cooked and not chewy. Overall horrible experience. Not gonna come again. And also there is a Kung fu tea right down the street which I recommend you go to instead.
google avatar

Latisha M.

Yelp
Possibly the best bubble tea I've ever had! Their fresh taro milk tea is INCREDIBLE. Their cheese tea is also great. After trying this place I genuinely can't go to other bubble tea places because they're always inferior.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
I love Royal Tea. I love all the teas and selection, but the downside is how slow they make the orders. I get there is only two workers, but I have seen other places with just 1 worker. And he/she works faster than them. I always uber eats pickup my order before I leave work (20 mins before). My app says it ready by the time I get there, BUT by the time I get there, THEY HAVENT STARTED MY DRINK. There are even a bunch of people in front of me and I have seen angry costumers storm out or ask repeatedly after standing 20 mins for their order. I am currently still standing here for my drink and it's been 10 mins. Total time wait (when I ordered online): 30 mins for ONE DRINK.

Cynthia Y.

Yelp
Excellent signature boba milk tea . A friend a barista /tea server recommended this place and after Kung Fu and Gong Cha I was ready for something different. This place serves by far the freshest and most interesting choices! I will be back ! Cheese taro?

Eleni G.

Yelp
Their drinks are always delicious, but it takes forever, 30 minutes or more sometimes to finish your order. Even when they have many people working.

Thu P.

Yelp
Compared to Gongcha or Kungfu Tea, Royal Tea is better and more pricey (~6-7$ avg). However, this store at Brookline takes very long to complete an order (even when the store is not busy and they have like 3 staffs). I always order ahead of time but still have to wait for 5-15 mins more when I get there. Not to mention, they give you very little boba (like 1 tiny scoop with 15 balls). So consider going to the Royal Tea in China town, they have muchhh better customer service and theirs drinks are fantastic.

Jordan M.

Yelp
Really good tea! Be prepared for a bit of a wait because the place is really popular!

Bitsy P.

Yelp
I walked by this place on a hot day and was seduced inside by the promise of a cold drink. I was septical when paid for my watermelon-pineapple tea, but not after I saw it prepared. It was lovely, layered coloring, with different layers of fruit and topped (on top of the ice) with shredded pineapple. It was perfect for the sunny July day. I'll definitely be back!
