The 38 Best Restaurants in Calgary, Canada | Eater

"After closing his famed eatery Anju, Roy Oh took nearly two years to reemerge in the city’s food scene. Now, people flock to his Mission restaurant, Roy’s Korean Kitchen, to eat the chef’s long-standing specialties like oxtail tortellini, crispy tofu with maple sesame kimchi, and pork belly with lemon aioli. Oh serves up Korean barbecue platters, too, as well as plenty of soju. [$$-$$$]" - Dan Clapson

Roy was here and had a friendly chat with him. Excellent and tasty food!! I haven’t been to the other locations before it was just left with this , but i can believe the quality is just as good as a restaurant. This location is located inside heritage square so it is a bit more remote and takeout friendly. Tons of open table space inside the square. The oxtail tortellini is a must!!

Definitely a hidden gem! Quality of the ingredients are amazing and truly tastes like a great home made meal, and the presentation makes it more like a fine dining experience. Very reasonable prices, good portions, welcoming staff, clean and beautiful seating area. The coffee at the cafe there is also very fresh! Definitely will be coming back to try the other dishes.

Amazing amazing amazing! So happy to have this fantastic food in south Calgary! Here are some photos from when I first went to check out the new space. The food was phenomenal, easy parking on east side of building and sweet plant filled atrium in the centre of the building. He also has delivery so check him out! Let’s make his business a success here so he doesn’t leave. 😋

How I know a place is a hidden gem 💎 - I really have to wrestle with myself if I want to write a review. A part of me whispers “save this place for yourself” and another part says “no, they deserve to be known and the food happiness shared!” Sigh 😔 so here it is. After Anju closed, I lamented over not tasting the oxtail tortellini and soy maple Brussels sprouts with bacon and teok again. During COVID, I rejoiced when Roy’s popped back up in Mission. And then sadness again when it closed. ROY’S IS BACK!!!!!! We had all of our faves again, and there are more items that we will be trying in the future. The prices are so affordable for the quality, you HAVE TO try it at least once. But please don’t come too frequently as I will be doing that and don’t want to wait too long. Kidding 😇 As for the location, I personally love it. A hidden gem is one that is not hyped because of the vibe and ambiance, this is not a place to go to be “seen.” A place for true foodies, yay 🥹 It’s located in an office building, and there’s plenty of space in the atrium (with foliage and a koi pond) to enjoy your food out of takeout containers. 2hr Indigo free parking, you scan a QR code as you enter the building. Enjoy guys, I had to choose to listen to my angel and not my devil with posting this review. But Chef Roy deserves it, and you guys do too 😞

I love Roy’s Korean kitchen. The food is excellent and the serving staff so welcoming. The Atrium at HeartNest Square is peaceful and so good for relaxing. We have had many business meetings in the space.

Excellent food with a pretty unique dining vibe! The Mozarella Kimchi Rice is a MUST TRY! The Truffle Parm Nori Tots was an umami bomb.

Friendly staff, now Cafe Ana with Roy’s Restaurant sells a few take out items. Friendly staff & relaxed environment. Reasonable prices, great snacks and baked items like the cookies.

Wings and nori tots were good, but the brussels sprouts were too burnt and tasted butter.
