Niagara Just Became a Serious Culinary Destination

"A casual all-day commissary café ideal for a carbo-load before wine tasting, this spot partners with a Michelin-starred restaurant and sources only Canadian ingredients, including produce from the restaurant’s regenerative farm. Baked goods made from locally grown and milled heritage grains rotate regularly—expect items like asparagus danishes, buckwheat financiers, and wild garlic biscuits—and there are sandwiches (try a jambon beurre) as well as picnic plates of baguette and pâté for taking on the road." - Kate Dingwall

What a hidden gem. Cute little bakery tucked away on the most tranquil and welcoming little street. The peach cake was delectable, I will be back for multiple loaves! The sourdough was great for morning toast and grilled cheese sandwiches! The spot itself is so lovely, but very busy. The line was way out the door, but it didn't take long to make our way through. Lots of space to enjoy your treats or lunch etc inside and on their adorable patio!! We will be back next time we are headed that way for sure.

A very nice bakehouse to check out in the Niagara region. Located in a quaint small neighbourhood, RPM doesn’t only offer bread and pastries, but also sandwiches and dips. When we arrived at 1pm it’s quite busy and some things have already run out. We got the breakfast sandwich, charred eggplant and white bean dip, onion biscuit and a buckwheat financier. They’re all excellent and my absolute favourite is the buckwheat financier! The brown butter caramel in the centre is runny, lightly sweet with an earthy flavour. As I’m not a caramel person I appreciate that the caramel is not overpowering/salty. The onion biscuit has the perfect texture, not oily and not too dry. There are seatings indoor and outdoor. I would definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Small interior with the baked goods near the entrance and provided small menu selection for lunch, breakfast, and beverage. At the back is an open space where the meal is prepared. Services - I see mixed faces some pleasant and others just having a day. The one taking the order is friendly and kind. I ordered the braised brisket sandwich and rutabaga fritters. Also, a tart and a latte spice something (forgot the name). Made the payment for dine in and was given a flag number. Took a table out on the patio and the tables inside were occupied. The day was overcast with a light wind on occasion. Tried the tart and the meringue was good balance in the sweet flavour. The yellow part seemed more peachy texture and flavour was not sure but nice. It was difficult to cut through the tart and almost had the tart slide off the plate. Overall ok. A gentleman brought the latte spice and was polite. The latte was enjoyable and I have to try it again as I am not a latte person but really like the blend of taste and aroma. The sandwich and fritters took some time and was brought out from their kitchen staff and the person took care of how the plate was placed and presented on the table. The decor on the fritters was lovely and in my mind did question about rutabaga as it is my first time hearing about it and tasting it. The brisket sandwich had the fresh greens colour which caught my eyes. I did see the fresh chips and I wished I had more. Overall presentation does give the vibe that has been harvested from the farm/ garden. The flavour and taste - the fritters is a yes I would order it again. It is not a heavy meal nor an oily meal. The sour cream, fresh crunch leaves, and the light seasoned fritters worked nicely. Maybe wished the fritters flavour can be enhanced a bit more as the sour cream would overtake in the bite. The brisket sandwich - the greens dressed, tender meat and picked onions and the bread really good. There were some bites the pickled onions were a bit salty or over took the surrounding flavour and just tasted solely the pickled onions alone. Overall both plates looks great and tasted good. As I was leaving there seems to be a wait in line to get your order.

RPM Bakehouse is my happy place and ‘Self Care Sunday’ spot for a good coffee and bite. Whenever someone visits me, I bring them here if I want to impress. It’s basically my claim to fame. Lol. Go early if you can. Most times there’s a crowd lined up, but I promise, it’s 100 percent worth the wait. The service is always on point. I love the ladies working at the counter. My favorites are the breakfast sandwich, the sticky buns, and the financier. So good every single time. Now I just need to find someone to go with me to their Michelin-rated restaurant. If it’s anything like the bakehouse, I know it’ll be incredible. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out.

Not a coffee person at all, but loved our little stop at RPM Bakehouse. The staff were super friendly! Wish there were more options to choose from for pastries, but I guess options were limited because we arrived around 2PM. Got the honey salted latte and it was delicious. Got another one for my girlfriend after she tried a sip of mine. Tried their egg salad sandwich and thought it was ok, nothing too special. Girlfriend got the grilled cheese with peaches and that was pretty nice. My highlights from our visit were their buckwheat financier (got 3 of them, too good) and the Gaptooth Yuzu drink. Definitely give these guys a visit!

I've been to RPM a few times and always enjoy their pastries, coffee, and sitting on the patio in the summer. My most recent visit on Mother’s Day was a bit hectic though. I waited 40 minutes, and by the time I got to the counter, only three types of pastries were left which is unusual for them. I went with the choux and hazelnut financier. Both had great texture, but I wasn’t a fan of the fillings. My drink also took 15mins to be made. Regardless, RPM remains one of my favourite cafes in the Niagara region, and I’ll definitely be back.

Wow. Very good. Choux was incredible 10/10. Refreshing yet indulgent filled with flavor of fresh peach. So complex but not filling Breakfast sandwich was 8/10. Good but expensive. Unique bread texture, and a beef sausage patty instead of pork Honey sea salt latte 9/10. Well made and you can taste everything. Quite a long line but it's worth the wait and they work pretty efficiently so it does move.

This place is exactly who they think they are and more! Deelish, elevated food. Stopping by here is always a treat. Everything I have eaten here has had me doing my little happy dance. I always pre order and go super early on weekends. They get so busy. Like lines outside the door busy!

Yelp
RPM Bakehouse is a must visit on my way to Niagara/Buffalo. I always leave with some pastries and their signature sourdough. During my recent visit, their featured fruit was plum so I tried their caramel plum sticky bun and plum/hazelnut cake. Their choux is the best we've ever had amongst the group. You can't forget their breakfast sandwich too! I would skip on the yogurt/granola next time though.

Yelp
Wow! After much anticipation, I finally was able to visit for the first time! I arrived early on Mothers Day Sunday. Probably picked a bad time as they were SUPER busy. But it was such a beautiful sunny morning. And I was close enough with friends, that it worked out for a visit. The property is beautiful, with a wrap around patio for outdoor dining. Stepping inside, however, it is quite tight quarters (as others have mentioned). This doesn't stop many parents coming inside with large strollers though -- but just be mindful of people around you. This place is so popular! There's not enough seating for their crowds. Most tables are very small, only seating 2. There were a lot of people just getting take out. I was eager to try their baked goods! Highlight was definitely the Caramel Apple Sticky Bun. Fresh batches kept being refilled on the counter. They were enticing to look at and heavenly to eat! They are the fluffiest sticky buns I've ever had! Not too sweet either -- perfect for my palette. I also had the Wild Garlic Biscuit (slightly dry but good flavour) and the Blackberry Sable (terrific jam inside - wish there was more!). Don't sleep on the coffee here! The baristas know what they are doing. I had a flat white (it was quite perfect) and tried a sip of my friend's Salted Honey Latte (it had well balanced notes of everything). We really enjoyed our beverages. I'm weary of crowds, but I did enjoy my visit and look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Saw this place on instagram and we were in the neighbourhood so decided to check it out. It is on a cute strip that is in a neighbourhood of houses, so unless you knew where you were going, you wouldn't find this place. It also reminds me of a town in a hallmark movie. We came earlier afternoon and it seems a lot of their baked goods were already gone. We did try a few things: - califlower soup - latte - apple pear cider - baked good (can't remember what it was) And we got the following to go: - sour bread baguette - chicken pate - egg nog - can of sparkling tea - can of sparkling peppermint tea The soup was good - although very small for the price. The latte was good, the cider was really good - not too sweet. The baked good was also delicious! The baguette and pate was good as well - the pate had some sort of sweet apple cider/juice gelatin on top. The egg nog was yummy - best egg nog I have ever had and different.

Yelp
Beautiful building, with display full of tasty treats and freshly made bread. There is limited seating indoors, but outdoor seating is ample. They have a fire pit outside which seems to be an option during colder weather plus blankets for use. I ordered a cappuccino which was very strong but tasty. The croissant was as crunchy, buttery and soft on the inside. I was impressed by the breakfast sandwich, which is generously sized. It had egg and sausage inside which complimented the bun really well. Definitely a spot to check out as they are from the owner sof the acclaimed pearl morrisette! A tip for parents: There are no highchairs and tight for strollers, but a changing table is available in the washroom.

Yelp
BOTTOM LINE: Tasty pastries and more! As part of the Pearl Morissette wine/food group comes this really fantastic bakery and cafe that's worth checking out if you're in the area. The interior is very on trend with white oak walls and seating, with a splash of rustic decor. They even have an outdoors seating area with a fire pit and engraved blankets, which is pretty sweet. At its most basic, you can stop by for a coffee and pick up some freshly baked pastries. The humble CROISSANT - as a litmus test for any bakery's chops - was done very well here, with a good balance of butteriness and light flakiness. They also have some really nice DANISHES that aren't just Insta-worthy, but really tasty as well. I tried their gluten-free FINANCIER, which really hid that GF aspect well, so colour me impressed! They also offer a sit-down menu (though seating can be tight!) comprised of various sandwiches and small plates, but which I can attest used some really fresh ingredients. Case in point, at the risk of sounding hyperbolic, their side greens were some of the freshest and tastiest I've had (I know, I know, they're *just* greens, but still...). Furthermore, and as part of their larger business, they offer a selection of their wines, making this not just a great cafe, but a great place to sip away your afternoon!

Yelp
Lovely coffee house atmosphere with outdoor seating. They also offer wine and light snacks. Baked goods are amazing as well. We got to go and dined in. Be aware that dine in portions were smaller, at least in our experience.
