Table for 2 for dinner
I heard a new Rreal Taco location just opened up in Decatur, so Wifey and I decided to go check it out. When we arrived, we noticed a shared parking lot right in front of the restaurant. It was the usual scan-and-pay setups, but the pricing was kinda weird--$7 for 30 minutes or $19 for three hours. No in-between. I went with the $7 option and hoped for the best. We walked past a few outdoor tables on our way in, but after a quick discussion, we agreed to sit inside. When we stepped in, there were a few people milling around the host stand, and it felt a little unorganized. Took a minute for anyone to greet us. Eventually, someone made eye contact and asked if we'd been helped. We said we were looking for a table for two inside, and they quickly seated us at a high-top. They pointed out a QR code for the drink and food menus. We scanned it, and I noticed there weren't any beers listed--just a bunch of specialty cocktails and a nice lineup of Mexican favorites. We waited for a while, but no server came by. I caught eyes with the host again to let them know we hadn't been helped yet. They gave me a quick nod like someone would be over soon. Eventually, our server showed up--and she had a great demeanor, bubbly personality. I asked about the beer selection, and she let us know they don't carry much in the way of American beers, just a few Mexican ones. Wifey ordered a Modelo, and I went with a Pacifico. She dropped off our drinks and came back to take our food order. Wifey went with three tacos--two al pastor and one pork belly. I got one chicken taco, one al pastor, and a side of rice and beans. Food came out very fast. Wifey was happy with hers. I thought mine were good, not amazing--I just needed a little something, so I asked for some hot sauce to spice it up. Oh, another point about the parking, as I was eating the half hour expired and I could not extend it. I had to get up, walk outside and scan again for another $7. So parking was convenient but a bit of a pain. After dinner we left a little room for dessert. We shared a Tres Leches and it was delicious. It was a great treat to cap off the dinner. Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance, the food, and especially Leeanne, our server. She was clearly busy, running around nonstop, but had a great attitude when she interacted with us.
