RT Café Grill

Lovely restaurant in a standalone historical building next to the sea. The back garden has plenty of seatings which makes the outdoor dining in nice weather especially appealing. We sat outdoor and you can see the waves sometimes.

This place is really quite special. We popped in for coffee, had breakfast and then ended up having a tour of the wine cellar and private dining areas. Really happy staff makes a really happy environment for us to enjoy. Robert Thompson should be really proud of what he has created. We will definitely be back with friends for lunch or dinner.

A fantastic find, we can't thank Claire the manager and Miya assistant enough. Service was second to none, food sublime and atmosphere warm friendly with a good cross section of classes. First time here, although know Robert from Thompson’s when in Newport. Great surroundings, the building is a wonderful venue for great food, drink and hospitality! Greated at the door by Robert, who took our coats, then shown to a wonderful table to gaze at the sea, whilst in the warmth. The restaurant is bathed in delicate colours, peacocks navy blues and amazing art, with a subtle art deco theme (my wife may disagree with me!). We opted to go for mains, my wife had a delicate fish pie, oozing flavour yet so light but filling, I had the roast pork. A really meaty couple of cuts with the biggest Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever seen. Square roast potatoes with a hint of celeriac puree. Really stuffing, fresh vegetables on the side and a bucket of pork gravy that oozed onto the plate!! Dessert was obviously treacle tart plus a surprise of an anniversary plate for our wedding anniversary! Thank you!! Robert has bought along his head chef from Thompsons who does an impressive job driving a first class kitchen! Great work! Looking forward to seeing how the renovations are coming along downstairs next time we visit! Promise not to leave so long next time! Kathryn and Simon.

A lovely breakfast. Booked a table for 22 people and they looked after us all very well. Great service, great breakfast menu choice and great food. Highly recommended.

Everything here is delicious and made with top quality ingredients… From the simple to the more extravagant dishes, they are all beautifully crafted with a variety of options for every palate. Service is on point with a team that is clearly attentive and well trained! 👍 The setting (both inside and outside) is exquisite! 👌 Highly recommended for a top notch meal, a scenic drink or even just coffee and cake!
