La Taberna de Almodóvar

"Any description of La Taberna de Almodóvar inevitably requires words such as tradition and passion that bring to mind the grocery store where this family first started serving food in Almodóvar del Río. With its spick-and-span classic decor, this restaurant in Córdoba has retained the essence of that first incarnation, reproducing regional cuisine that fully respects authentic local flavours. Make sure you try the trying the famous “Almodóvar” croquettes, the egg-based “Revuelto del Cortijo”, and the legendary “Mazamorra”, a cold soup similar to “ajoblanco”, albeit thicker, that is said to be the forerunner of Córdoba’s “salmorejo”." - Michelin Inspector

Beautiful place with exceptional food and great service. Nacho and his colleagues made the evening a great experience. Couldn’t decide what was my favourite dish. And they have a great vino solera (Gran Barquero, Pedro Ximénez, 6 años)

The reservation system offered 13:00 slot despite the restaurant opening at 13:30. The food is great except for the artichokes. Some were not peeled enough and had tough leaves and stems. Prices are good too for the level of cooking.

Restaurant worthy of its Michellin recognition as Bib Gourmand. Traditional food exceptionally executed. The service is superb, the staff takes care of you explaining the menu and off menu offerings. They give excellent recommendations. We were served by Sergio and Antonio Luis, true masters. The food is delicious. We went there twice during our stay. Great value-quality formula. Absolutely recommended.

We discovered the place through Google and were excited to dine! Pity Cordoba misses a lot of public/tourists. Very hard for the local business, but we were very pleased that they were open in July 2021 and we had such a lovely evening with friendly staff and tasty food! The waiter himself reduced the tasty local eggplant with honey sauce portion, as it would have too much with the large suckling Iberian pork. That was very tender and tasty! Also the wine list had some great wines! We enjoyed the dinner very much and hope Cordoba and this lovely place see soon more people. We will come again! Thank you

I had the pleasure of lunching here with my family whilst on holiday. Fabulous food served by friendly and welcoming staff. The ensalada de bacalao was amazing as was the paletilla de Cordero and the cochinillo special which were both cooked perfectly. I will definitely eat here again when in cordoba

The food was just okay, nothing particularly surprising. While the meats we ordered were very good, the rest of the menu left us unimpressed. The service was a bit underwhelming; we had to ask for water twice before it finally arrived. Overall, an average experience that didn’t quite meet expectations.

The local is quite small, only 3 rooms with around 15-20 tables, it looks like a house inside of a house :). The service was very good they give us some olives and bread (home made). We have ordered wild boar, cod fish (Bacalau) and pork (which was amazing). The restaurant is BIB Michelin for several years and Guia repsol Recommended so the service / food and everything should be top-notch. Per total i really liked the experience, even the food was manly based on meat and few vegetable the final product was amazing, tasty and everybody was pleased.

Indeed, one of the best tuna belly I’ve ever tasted in my life, besides all the other dishes!!!! Everything was just spectacular, and prices are super reasonable! Service is amazing too! Don’t miss out!
