Such a great neighborhood bar!! Plenty of space, things to do & TVs to watch! Casey is absolutely phenomenal!! Will make this our every Sunday football spot as long as he’s working!!! Great personality and service. I got the steak fingers 10/10 and my man got the breakfast sandwich which he said 10/10!!

Really nice bar with different amenities as pool tables and cornhole games. The layout is pretty open for a lot of people to go across their way and mingle. It has a very nice terrace or deck in an outside area, weather permitting it can be very nice. They have both fans and heaters depending on the need. Also an outside corner stage where bands can perform. We were lucky to see Alice and Rafa playing a huge variety of 80s and 90s pop and rock, great performance by them: Rafa on the guitar and Alice as the vocal. Great entertainers both of them, kept the crowd very well pumped, and motivated. It was their anniversary, not sure if this is why they had free buffet with really good food: Steak, shrimp, mac & cheese, corn, potatoes, spinach, asparagus, fried breaded onions rings. Each of these items were very, very tasty, I was surprised, specially for a free buffet. I also heard from other frequent customers that the simplest dish (in example a grilled cheese sandwich) is better than an outside/common one. The environment was pretty good, mature audience with people of all walks of life. No issues, no drama. Recommended and will go back when possible.

This is not just a bar…for many people it is a second home. I have been a regular for ten years and have met life long friends here and continue to do so. Favorite bar in Denton with the best food. Literally, I haven’t had anything I didn’t like, but my favorites are the RT’S Burger and Chicken Fingers with gravy 😋The bartenders are like family. Great sports and “neighborhood” bar, always fun to watch football here! Right off on 35 so very easy to get to. Come out and support local! ❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ RT’s Bar is my go-to spot in Denton, especially for the Saturday night dart tournaments. What I like about this place is the atmosphere—it’s always full of people enjoying themselves, whether they’re playing cards, shooting pool, or just hanging out with friends over drinks. Unlike the downtown bar scene, RT’s feels more laid-back but still has that lively energy. And to be honest, I favor this bar the most out of all the others I go to in Denton. A big reason is the food—it’s definitely better than what I’ve found at the other bars. Between the great tournaments, solid food, and the welcoming vibe, RT’s has become my favorite spot in town.

Went on their 15th anniversary celebration. Had a free buffet of some decent Cajun food, and the drinks were decent. Things were a little too loud inside to have any type of conversation, and the live music outside pretty much made it impossible to have a conversation too, so. I'm unsure what it is like when there's no live music, but from what a couple friends have said, it's always a good time here. Slightly older crowd too, which was nice. Sometimes I don't want the space overrun with screaming early 20 somethings lol

Have to show ID to get in. Paper IDs are no good. (Just FYI) Wife and I wanted to try somewhere new. Went on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. We ordered an appetizer (pickles, strings and bottle caps) 2 entrées a patty melt and buffalo bites they both came with tots. Food was hot and good. Wife ordered an adios to drink and it wasn’t good. I had a bottled Dos Equis. By the time our waiter checked back on us, we were ready to go. Chairs are very uncomfortable. They do not play music.

Really wanted to like this bar as it had good reviews. Incredibly disappointed by the poor and slow service (which got my appetizer wrong and ignored or forgot my second drink). Wasn’t even that crowded. Go somewhere else.

I showed up here before a wedding in a suit to kill some time, everyone there was definitely not in suits. But didn't matter. The bartender told me it was a dive bar but it was actually nice inside in my opinion. Service was friendly and helpful. I got 3 beers and a chicken strips or something and it came out to $26. Blew my Los Angeles pants right off. Place was pretty lively and I had fun. It definitely seemed like a place for regulars. I recommend it but come with friends, not alone.

What can I say? "I LOVE THIS BAR" Hey, the food is awesome!! My faves just regular cheeseburger, the stuffed jalapeños, and the steak fingers are to die for. I LOVE THEIR STAFF!!! Most friendly bartenders EVER ! They all get along and really enjoy their job. Im telling ya greatness staff ever!! Been a patron for years and I will continue going

Classic, Fun, cheap, College Sports Bar with awesome bartenders. One of our fave late night hangouts when we want to shoot a game of pool or just hit the Denton scene. Pinball, video games, pool tables, lots of tv's for the game, an outdoor patio & great late night bar food. Not just college kids, people from all walks of life come here that's what makes it special. Recommend.

I went for lunch today and only ordered chips with dip and steak fingers. I didn't get them for over an hour; not only that but I watched a lady come in order and pay for a salad and just leave because of how long it took (never saw the salad). I'd say the food was less than average and that's probably because I used to like the place.

Met my nephew there to watch some football games. The patrons were friendly and the bar staff entertaining. Had a nice time watching games and enjoyed meeting Trey, the owner, who served us one of his signature drinks. Tasty. Thanks Trey!

Fantastic service and amazing bar food. I would recommend trying the breakfast sandwich. It's absolutely fantastic.

We arrived during a Dallas Cowboys football game and found the only open table inside a very busy bar! Service was really good but there were no servers on the floor everyone was a bartender. Our bartender just told us to wave here down when ever we needed something. A little different but the service was great!

Service is great! Burchelle is the best bartender and is so nice to all. Kevin is also good.

I generally find myself delighted by divish bars. RTs really isn't a dive bar. But I wish it was. Great friendly staff. Reasonable selection of drafts. Covid-19 menu is a bit slim on the options, but the cheese burger was seasoned and cooked well. I recommend it even after it being my first visit.

Play their music loud so all the neighbors can hear. Food used tobe good but not now. Just shut up and fix the food. We would come back for that

Been a regular for over a Decade! Nuff Said But I've Got More than memories here, it's an atmosphere of friendships and relationships and good times. Pool tables, great Full Access TVs , great dart boards. Fully always stocked bar. Bartenders that are reliable and always around. The Food is just constant and I'm never dissapointed, it hits the spot for the mood everytime. Highly recommend, super chill. Good times

From what I've seen, this is the best place in Denton to watch sports. The patrons are friendly and the bartenders are awesome.

I really wanted to like this bar. It seemed friendly at first with the patrons and the bartenders. However, I came wearing a cute dress by myself after work. After a few different guys trying to talk to me and my having to leave outside to talk to my boyfriend on the phone a couple of times. Two bartenders came up to me and accused me of being a prostitute or a drug dealer, because it seemed "suspicious" that I kept leaving outside. Granted I was talking to my boyfriend on the phone. There reasoning was different guys approached me. I'm sorry if I have to reject a couple of guys. This was the most embarrassing thing I have ever had to go through. They claimed to be looking out for their bar. This has never happened to me before. I am studying to become a doctor for God's sake. For obvious reasons I will not be returning.

This is not just your typical little dive bar! We came in here for the Quest for the Best- Dos Equis edition and stayed way too long. The beers were cold, glasses cold, lime was juicy and delicious and they dressed up like a pretty little maiden with a great salty rimmer. My ONLY complaint was they didn't have any tajin, which I'm still shocked about. The bar food was GREAT!! Fried pickles and a kickass burger!! Here was the kicker....the staff was awesome!!! And the music was GREAT!! This alone was why we couldn't leave. Yep- we will be back. GREAT BAR!! (No kids allowed!

My wife and I have been coming to RT's for the past year since moving to Denton. We were looking a local sports bar to hang out at. When we first started going there it was a smoking bar. In the past 6 months they have banned smoking and smokers have to go outside. There is plenty of parking even on busy days. The really large L shaped bar has many seats. Around the bar is two huge TV's surrounded by many smaller TV's. The sound is excellent for a big game, or when the jukebox is on. There is also a nice patio that seats a lot more people and has TV's. There are plenty of tables. There is a side room with a comfy couch and another big screen TV. There are 5 pool tables (you'll need quarters), a couple of dart boards, golf game, basketball game, jukebox, two bar games. You can also go out on the patio, and play a game of bags. Most of the staff are awesome and the bartenders are knowledgeable at making mixed drinks. They really take care of you and treat you right. Great drink specials. On Fridays they have $3 double wells and $2 domestic pints. There are many beers on tap including some local breweries like Audacity. The food is excellent for bar food. Best bar food I have ever had. They make everything but the tator tots fresh daily. The homemade potato chips, onion rings, jalapeño poppers and fried pickles are really good. My favorite basket is the buffalo chicken basket. You can tell its fresh chicken breast, and sauce has a nice kick. Large portion size too. The lemon pepper wings are really good as well. If you are in the mood for a burger, you can't go wrong with any of them. I took a star off, because the bathrooms aren't the cleanest all the time. They need to address that. Great local bar, great prices and drink specials. I have come back many times and will continue to.

Cool atmosphere, super friendly staff, great food! One of those places that after visiting a couple times, you're automatically a familiar face and treated like a local...which is nice being a frequent traveler. It will be my go to happy hour spot every time I'm back in that area.

I must say I was very impressed. The crowd was cool and the people were welcoming. My husband and I just wanted to play some pool so I'm glad we ended up here. The lemon pepper wings and fried mushrooms are to die for lol. They were awesome and I order 2 of the mushrooms . The prices are very descent the drinks were not watered down . The place was clean and upbeat we would definitely be coming back again with friends.

Let's just be honest here...no one truly goes to Denton for fine dining. That being said, Denton is DEFINITELY a good place to go for inexpensive, yet very tasty food (as most university towns are.) RT's continues this Denton tradition. I've been multiple times for libations and eaten here twice. The first time I partook in the steak finger basket. At the first bite, you know you aren't eating a frozen steak finger, these are definitely made in house with high quality meat. The chips. Oooooh the chips. I highly recommend them. Thinly sliced potatoes cooked to perfection, you can't go wrong. On my most recent visit, I discovered the greatness that is the Chicken Bacon Swiss burger. If you've ever had Chili's Grilled Chicken Sandwich and enjoy it, you HAVE to try this sandwich. It puts Chili's to a complete and utter shame. I think this may have been the most perfectly cooked chicken breast I've ever had. They put it on a fresh baked bun with (perfectly cooked of course) bacon, Swiss cheese, honey mustard and topped with lettuce, onion and tomato. Again, served with RT's chips. Have it with the adult beverage of your choice and go home happy. They were close to be a 5-star but the onion rings have left a lot to be desired. I'm a huge onion ring fan and theirs were good but VERY greasy. Now we all know onion rings are supposed to be a bit greasy but the grease overpowered the O ring. After my first visit I chalked it up to a bad night but after my second visit, they've failed to improve. But that's okay because the chips kick their ass anyways. Oh and I recommend sitting outside too. Even when it was 48 degrees we still enjoyed the patio.

Super fun place since we moved to Denton. Come for some drinks and have some great service, even if it's a busy night they will get to you and are super friendly always. The food is amazing!!! Think bar food, but it's somewhere we pick to eat first, my husband always try's different things and is always happy, I usually stick to the philly which is up there (I am super picky about my philly) I always ask for extra cheese just because. Today I got the steak fingers thinking they would be frozen thrower in the fryer... NOPE, I got a Hefty amount of fresh steak fingers!!! Amazing!!! Thank you to all the bar staff and cook for always being awesome

So we are sitting on the patio tonight and we see a dog running into on coming traffic and the kind hearted person my husband is decides to help the kid chasing after the dog so the dog wouldn't get hurt my husband immediately reacts and jumps over the railing ( which I totally get it's a big no at a bar to do that especially TABC no to do it) but he wasn't thinking only to help the kid and his dog. So my husband caught up to the dog and lost the owner and came back to RTS , trey the owner asked us to leave since he jumped to railing which my husband was like okay no worries I'll leave and left. I went to close the tab , this is where they went wrong, we ordered food we never received trey was rude about taking it off the the bill and threw our food in a to go. When the friends we were with never received there food either and charged them for it as well. I get kicking someone out for something they did wrong but to steal money from your customer's especially when we are regulars is damn near disgusting. It's known that if you don't receive what your ordered you take it off the bill and to be rude about it is even more disgusting. Are you hurting that bad you needed the extra few bucks ? Well guess what no tips where given you can give the money you stole from customers to the bartender. You lost regular customers tonight because we will no longer be going back to rts when the owner of the bar is that greedy and rude. When I know for a fact other regulars have done much worse in that bar and nothing happens...

I love this little bar. I've gone a few times, and the staff is always great at helping me try new drinks or recommending items. I've found new favorite recipes because the bartenders definitely know what they're talking about! Every single time I've come, I've never had an issue with customer service. At once point, another customer was being slightly creepy to me and my sister-in-law, and two of the bartenders made it a point to keep us in sight the entire night, and made it clear that they would kick him out if they needed to. It definitely made the night better and made us feel safe. The prices are incredibly reasonable, and I'm always surprised by how little we spend, even though we often order multiple drinks and food. Definitely recommend!

This place is definitely a place for regulars. If you aren't a friend of the bartender or a waitress, you don't exist. Just kinda of a white trashy type of place with the typical barfly clientele. People are so drunk in there that I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down. It's an awesome place if you like cheap shitty food and trashy service.

One waitress was kinda rude, unless he was just having a bad night, but the other staff are super cool. Drinks are affordable and they have pool, darts and a few arcade games.

Lol okay so, FIRST OFF the place is dirty and disgusting. It smells like feet (and we went on a Saturday night). It does get busy but full of older people, literally no young people which makes sense because the bartenders were blatantly STARING at us at the bar, giving us the stink eye. I get this is Denton, but I watched 4 bartenders take shot after shot in front of all the customers which I feel is extremely unprofessional. We asked about food and the bartender scoffed and said they have never served food here. So we bought drinks. I got a house margarita that was DISGUSTING and forever scarred me. It tasted like a foot was soaking in it. Sweaty tasting and just DIRTY. I swear I watched the bartender who was serving us put his hands in the ice and into my cup, again, DISGUSTING. If you young and love dirty, nasty drinks and getting stared at and given the stink eye then this is definitely the place for you. Never will go here again.

The bar was full when we arrived, but 1 minute after we seated ourselves, we were promptly served. The server continued great service through out the visit. The stuffed jalapeños are a MUST HAVE. The tacos wasn't appeasing. The 3 little pigs is good & filling. My friend had a burger that looked & tasted delicious. The only frozen item I tasted were the tater tots. Everything else was fresh & made in house :-D

this is the best dang honky tonk in the entire world. you wanna boot scoot and knock down some coldberrs and twostep with some prim and proper southern gals when then this is the place for you. dont miss the steak fries and the stuffed peppers. do a vegas bomb for me! yeeeeeehawwww

Very relaxed and fun bar to go to. With plenty of entertaining things to do. Such as pool tables, dart boards, card table, juke box and patio fun things too. The people were nice. The food was pretty good. I got the hot wings which was a good amount for $8.50. I wanted to try the Treys wings however they don't let you mix flavors. I also ordered the Tots which were cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the burger which she said was good but had two small burger in between a thick great tasting bread. Just wish it was a whole patty that fit the bread. We ordered a coke and water to start.... the water tasted fine but the coke tasted funny. Next we ordered a screw driver and patron margarita which were ok. Overall nice place to go hang not bad.

Fun bar for patrons in their mid 30's and up I'd say, judging by the crowd when I went in. Could have won me over with a few more beers on tap, but the service was friendly nonetheless. We saw a fight that day.

Absolutely love this bar! The service has been fantastic every time I've been, everyone is so friendly and they will remember you if you go frequently. Prices are reasonable, and atmosphere is fun! A couple tips- They do shot specials during Cowboys games, and the buffalo bites are delicious (although anything from their menu will be great). Highly recommend!

Love this place, every single person in the staff is awesome. Little tid bit.... they're philly cheesesteak is seriously delicious, unrivaled... take it from someone who has been to Philly and tried the original. Check it out.

Let's just get down to brass tacks, shall we? Pro: Good food. Like Homer Simpson-drooling-out-the-side-of-his-mouth good. Homemade potato chips actually taste like potato. Tortilla chips taste like corn tortilla. Chicken strips better than at any chain restaurants. Pro: TVs absolutely everywhere. Great during January, when football, basketball, and hockey are on. Pro: Bar Olympics. Not quite sure what this entails, but I'll be there. Pro: Patrons who actually yell at touchdowns... instead if conversing among their polo shirt wearing, collar popping peers. Pro: Friendly waitstaff. The bigger, the friendlier. A sure sign good food is near (see Pro #1). Con: None. I thought about including "needs more hot chicks", but no, this is perfect. Hot chicks normally can't talk intelligent football with ya. The hot guys currently on either side of me at the moment, however, can.

My go to place in Denton. Staff takes care of you, as long as you aren't being a drunk dick. Atmosphere is awesome and there is always some type of sports on the multiple tVs. Take too many Dragon shots and you will feel like dog poop the next day! Ha. Only dislike is the smoking, but that's with most bars, until it's banned city wide.

Gotta love RTs! They put in a new non-smoking sections with some of the most comfy couches you can find. This really helps with the spillover from the main room. It's also a great way for me to leave the bar without smelling like a complete cigarette after a long night! Still a great place to grab a brew and eat some awesome food from the newly updated menu!

This bar is usually hopping! Diverse crowd, pool tables, darts, etc. Great place to hang out. Food is amazing. Inspired bar food that is all homemade and top notch. I recommend the three little pigs sandwich. Everything I have tried has been top notch. My new favorite bar.

Great place to get hammered for cheap. Love the $2 pints all the time! Food is well below average though. Just go here to drink, check out a game and you'll be fine. Cheers!

I went to RT's to watch Sunday football as this is one of the few bars in Denton where you can watch all of the games. This was my 2nd visit to RTs. The first visit I sat on the patio and had a mostly pleasant experience. However, since I was there to watch a game on this visit I sat at the bar. I immediately noticed a very bad odor coming from behind the bar. That sort of sugary smell when the bar isn't properly cleaned. I tried to ignore it because I wanted to watch my game but it became so overpowering I started to feel nauseous and had to leave before my game was over. I also noticed behind the bar that there was a lot of trash on the ground. Clearly there are a lot of sanitary concerns at this bar. If the bar looks this way I don't even want to imagine what the kitchen looks like.

One of my favorite places to go. Great food, good people. The staff is lots of fun and good people. I go there on game days, even in the day, some days are slow, but it is nice just to sit back and not have to compete with the overwhelming noise. It can get loud in there at times, but it gets fun. Lots of people to talk to and visit with. The crowd is nice. Have a great pool table area and a shuffleboard along with some other bar games. Great shot specials if you like that. I like just sitting back with a Guinness and relaxing after a hard week, and this place you can.

damn great place to go for drinks. Nice pours and good prices. I've been there often enough that they always remember my drink. Also, really, really good food for a bar. Just a really nice, chilled out place to meet up with friends. Great bartenders, very friendly! My ONLY complaint is that I feel that Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry should be banned from the Jukebox. They get played here a little too often. And by too often I mean more than 0 times. Put me in charge and that wont happen!

This is one of my favorite bars. The service is the best in Denton- all the bartenders are super friendly and great at what they do. Drink prices are good, too. I love chilling on the patio on a nice night, especially since I know I'll be taken care of without having to go to the bar. Someone is always walking around cleaning up and taking drink orders. I'm also a huge fan of the newer non-smoking section where there's a dartboard, pool and foosball tables, and nice couches in front of a big TV. When you walk in a bar and multiple strangers high-five you, you know it's a cool place.

This place is great because it's right in front of my apartments, so I can walk there and not worry about driving. The drink specials they have are great. The Friday night ones are my favorite. It's $2 double wells, which is what I drink normally. I like the atmosphere because it's a good bar and there's plenty of people, but it's not a crazy bar with a bunch of drunk college kids. Watch out, though. Sometimes they have comedy nights and often the people are NOT funny, but insulting and gross.

First time here/Friday early evening. We really enjoyed ourselves. The shuffle board was the longest one I've ever seen ; and they had other games outside on the patio going on. Friendly atmosphere , big doorman, good drinks and an easy crowd. We were from out of town here for a wedding- and this would definitely be a go to bar in our neighborhood.

My friends and I Thursday nights local spot - Great service, great staff, they remember our go to drinks and great prices, some of the best in north Texas - the food isn't like any other bar, friggin awesome !!!!

I come here just for the best chicken strips on this earth and I am not exaggerating. The strips are large perfectly seasoned, crispy and meaty! It's not the typical strips you find everywhere. Whatever batter they use sets theirs apart from all the other. Honey mustard they make in house is also the best ever I wish they sold a bottle of that. It has just the right amount of honey and mustard for a good balance of sweet and savory. I swear there is another ingredient in that honey mustard just can't figure it out.

I'll have to try this again. I heard the batter on the steak and chicken fingers was epic so we ordered takeout (we heard it was smoky so we won't eat there). It was good but not great but it might have gotten lost in translation since it wasn't eaten right away. I think the chips were the best side since the onion rings were definitely greasy. My favorite item was the chicken swiss bacon sandwich/burger. I'd like to try an actual burger one day. Maybe one day it will be nonsmoking and we can eat there....hint hint.
