"Serving Thai and Lao food in downtown St. Paul, the family owned café hits all the traditional notes one would expect, and a few you might not. Try the Lao style papaya salad, a more pungent version of its Thai cousin using fermented fish sauce." - Alex Lodner

Good food. Good portion sizes and the price is a bit more than most Thai restaurants. However, the service is horrible. After long waits, I had to walk to the hostess desk twice requesting somebody to take our order. The host was wonderful. She had told kaylee twice to come take our order. There was a very long wait for food to be prepared. Nobody asked us how the food was. And we had to wave at another server for a while to get the check. Just ridiculous. Please improve the service. :( Pictured here is the egg rolls, pad Thai and special spicy noodles. Asked for pad Thai to be 7 on the spice level, but it was sweet. Please note that there is a service fee applied to each bill.

Yesterday evening we had dinner here and ordered some to go. Most of the food, was good, but disappointed in how dry the chicken was in our dishes. At the restaurant we had chicken/shrimp pineapple fried rice, chicken pad see lew, beef laab and pork egg rolls. Had 2 orders of the chicken satay to go and they were all so dry that we couldn't eat them, even my kids wouldn't touch them. Save your money and stay away from the chicken. The service could be better, our water was not refilled until we were almost done eating.

We came in for lunch and waited quite a while before asking where are server is so we can order our food. Also, when I asked for hot water the server didn’t understand me and had to get someone else. I order the egg drop soup and it is not what you would expect. Not the usual thick egg drop soup you would get at a Chinese restaurant. The taste was good enough. The pai thai was pretty good other than noodles breaking a lot. Not long noodles. Along came the beef salad. Very little beef cut up tiny pieces and lots and lots of red onion in the mix. Lettuce in the side, not a bed of lettuce. Lastly, the banh xeo. It’s not whole shrimp, it cut up into small little pieces and lots on bean sprout. They don’t give you all the sides that a Vietnamese original dish would. Overall rating was okay. I wouldn’t go again though. Not authentic enough for a true Asian food eater. Not Asian spicy as well.

This is a fantastic spot and I was sad to miss the grand opening. When you walk in the place is filled with natural light and full of plants and earth tones. It has lots of tasteful Thai decorations strategically planted keeping it looking modern and chic. We were seated right away and our server was Kyle. We stopped in for lunch and started with a nice chilled white wine that was refreshing. Then came out the stuffed chicken wings that were stuffed to perfection with the perfect blends of species and seasoning making my picky friend savor each bite. The spring roll was fantastic and you could taste all the fresh ingredients inside. The shrimp was not rubbery and hard and the dipping sauce was not overly sweet and tasted as if it came out of a jar. The mussaman curry was fantastic it was warm and filling. It was very hardy and creamy and had lots of delicate spices that overload your taste buds. I have had this done at other Thai places in the twin cities and it's always watered down or full of potatoes making it look more like a watery potato soup. This one had the perfect consistency and blend. Everything in it was cooked to perfection. The egg drop soup was also perfectly made. It was not Wattery-like a soup broth made from a packet that you mix with water. It had God flavors and was not like gelatin and the eggs as well as all the other ingredients looked to be in perfect harmony with one another. Kyle was an amazing server and made sure we had all we needed. All her recommendations were very good and the rest of the staff were amazing as well. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. I will definitely be going back. Kyle .. bagu in south Minneapolis.. mastman

We had a reservation and arrived exactly on time, hoping to leave for a show within 45 minutes or so (with some wiggle room). Doesn’t seem like the reservation mattered as we still had to wait a significant amount of time. Took awhile to get waited on so we made our full order right away. We got our spring rolls and my Pad Thai in a timely manner and the food was delicious. However, my husband was not getting his dish. We shared the Pad Thai while we waited for the other dish and finally when we could wait no longer and had to leave (almost half an hour past when we originally wanted to leave), we asked the waiter to either box my husband’s meal up if it was ready in the kitchen , or take it off the bill. The waiter went to the kitchen, gone for another period, and finally came out with the boxed-up food. My husband ordered the #36, in the attached picture of the menu. What we found when we got home and looked at it was the other attached picture. How does this happen? Would also agree with others that the 7% “surcharge” is an awful way to conduct business. Pay the workers more and raise your prices if you have to. Trying to figure out a 20% tip on the cost of the meal minus 7% all while the waiter is standing there with their electronic transaction device waiting for you to finish the transaction is not a good experience. So, actual food, five stars, experience other than that, one star. Giving overall three stars strictly because of the quality of the food itself.

New location but same amazing food. We’ve been waiting and waiting for the new location to open and came in wondering if we can expect the same food. No disappointments there. Green curry with tofu is the best thing on the menu hands down.

Google
I waiver between a 3 and 4. The food taste is excellent, however, I find the portions small for the money you pay, especially with the surcharge. Having to divide potatoes so everyone can have a 2nd helping of the massaman curry just seems wrong. We arrived home and the chicken satay had melted through their container and the sauce for the cream puffs had come open and was all over the cream puffs. We spent $100 for 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and 1 dessert.

Visiting for a wedding and stopped by to have some Tom kha soup, truly delicious. My favorite part about this place was the notice of a 7% staff surcharge to ensure a living wage. Delicious food and great service all around!

Yelp
Great food but they continued to be terrible in terms of service. We have been there 2 times since they opened the new location and placed a pick up order both times. Both orders took 1.5 hours and the second time they forgot my order. I hope they can work through these issues asap. The manager was very kind but it's going to be tough for us to continue to order from there if they don't make some changes.

Yelp
My family & I went last night for dinner. We were so excited for them to reopen again. We were seated fairly quickly by the hostess. Busboy dropped water off for us, but the server took awhile to come to our table. She didn't check on us either. It was pretty busy so maybe hire more servers? There were about 3 that I saw. Cute place, music was a bit too loud though. Food was 7/10. Banh Xeo was oily & burnt, chicken wings were basic. We asked for sauce on the side, but it came sauced up. The duck curry was delicious though. Lao papaya salad (medium spice) had the perfect amount of spicy, salty, & sweetness. Pad see ew was flavorful as well. However, we probably wouldn't make that 30 min drive to come here again. 7% surcharge, too. Hopefully, service will get better since they did just recently opened up.

Yelp
We've been visiting Ruam Mit for a few years and it's by far our favorite Thai food in the Twin Cities. We were absolutely elated to see their new location was (finally) open! In regards to the service, it was clear they're still knocking the rust off. The food took a particularly long time to arrive and, although it wasn't busy, the wait staff wasn't around much. The food, however, was basically as good as we remembered! The menu seems to be more condensed than it used to be, but that gave us the opportunity to try some new options. Special Egg Rolls: the crunch is unmatched! The sauce held a plethora of flavor. We used to opt for beef, but the pork was a strong second. Pha Ram Long Song: gave us the red curry we craved but with a new twist. It was a bit less saucy than we anticipated and the spinach diluted the sauce, but the flavor was spot on. Pad Thai: we chose the Pad Thai because they were out of the wide noodles for the Pad See Lew. This plate was massive. We physically could not finish it and we used to be able to. It made spectacular leftovers. For both entrees, they asked for a spice level. We opted for 4/5 although 3 was considered "medium". It was the perfect level of spice for us as we generally like the higher side of medium. I will caution the spice level rises the day after if you have any leftovers. Overall, this is still a top notch spot for us. We'll try it again down the road and see if the service improves.

Yelp
Everything I have tried is amazing. Slice levels are accurate. New place is so bright and nice. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Incredible Thai food experience here! As soon as you walk in, it looks pretty no-frills. It looks kind of like a mom-and-pop shop. Service was great, they were very busy but the food still came out at a reasonable time. Highly HIGHLY recommend the egg rolls, so big and stuffed with meat! The sauce they gave was also unlike any other I've seen come out, overflowing with peanuts, adding tons of texture and flavor to the egg rolls. If you are allergic to nuts, please tell them (-: We got a curry dish and pad see ew. Both were medium hot when ordered, but I didn't taste the spice in the curry. Still very delicious. The pad see ew definitely had a kick and it was balanced perfectly with the sweetness. Not usually used to my pad see ew being as sweet as this one was, but I like the balance of it with the spice. The flat noodles are an extra charge; but I think I'd pay the up charge again for the texture I'm used to. I wish the noodles weren't as broken up as they were though. All in all, great experience and delicious food.

Yelp
The food was quite tasty. I walked here after finding a nearby well rated place was seemingly permanently closed. It didn't disappoint. While the dining area is a little run down, it has charm. The server was seemingly pretty overloaded with dealing with hosting, ordering and serving and taking payment for both in dining and people getting take out. So at times a little waving arm for attention was required. But the food made that more than worth that little bit of trouble. Very fresh and tasty.

Yelp
Was very surprised at how different the place looks now in a good way. It changed its asthmatic from like a dive bar to a bit more fancy looking. It through me off as I had sweatpants on me was regretting not putting some jeans or something but regardless it have a casual vibe. We were are able to get a table right away given it was around 6ish but as soon as it hit 7 the place was packed with pick up orders which caused a bigger wait on our food. I ordered some spring rolls with were around $8 but the good thing was that they were pretty big and substantive. Love their peanut sauce and used my spoon to pour over the crunchy bits as when I dip it none of the peanuts stay on. I had the pad Thai and ordered level 1 of spice which ended up feeling like level 4. That through me off as Ive kept my order the same for the past 2 years but I suppose maybe they changed that. I also tried the fried rice which was a level 4 and felt like level 8. It was a bit hard to enjoy the food because of the spicy level. FYI On the receipt it say that they don't do refunds if we order a certain level of spice and you can't handle it they can't be held responsible as it's what you ordered. The pad Thai was okay but it did not remind me of the pad Thai I used to love. Over all service was okay and there was a wait for the food but I think it's a place you have to time it properly to avoid a long wait.

Carissa E.

Yelp
I attempted calling 2 times to place an order but no one answered so I just ordered as a walk in. My order did take 30+ minutes a bit longer than he said it would take. The egg rolls and pad Thai were freaking delicious! The egg rolls were flaky and crisp filled with deliciousness & the pad Thai was packed with crisp veggies and peanuts, mm it was so good. I asked what the spice meter was they said 1-5 5 being the hottest so I played it safe and asked for 3 - it was hot!

Luke G.

Yelp
I really like this place! The green curry is amazing. It's a little different than other green curry's, in that it's served more like a stir fry than a soup. The curry is really flavorful and needs the white rice to balance the dish (it's provided). The fried rice has great color. Sometimes fried rice is a light brown, without any sign that it was actually fried. Not this dish! You can see that it was fried and has a great Thai flavor! All around, the spice level isn't crazy. It's 0-5, I ordered 3, and it wasn't very spiced at all. Tasted less than a jalapeño. The Mango Sticky Rice is must buy! The execution of this place was kind of lacking. We waited over 50 minutes for our pad Thai and we eventually cancelled the order because we ate everything else and couldn't wait any longer (3 kids under 5 also doesn't help).

Laura W.

Yelp
The restaurant smelled really unpleasant walking in, it was definitely not a food smell either, but kind of like a bathroom. The egg rolls were good, very crunchy. The massaman curry was also really good! Fried rice was kinda meh. I would not order it again.

Jessie L.

Yelp
We stayed in a hotel nearby and bumped into this humble restaurant. We really enjoy the laotian food on the menu and service is quick and great! Would highly recommend it!

Michelle N.

Yelp
Salty. All the dishes were oversalted. Starting with the chicken curry, the sauce was so salty it needed way more rice than the amount provided. The best dish of the night was the Pad See Lew. I was not accustomed to having this dish with thin pho style noodles but the flavor was delicious! Savory and sweet. Both flavors perfectly balanced. The Tum Mak Hoong (Lao Style Papaya Salad) was SPICY! The flavor was very similar the Thai or Hmong style papaya salad. It had a yummy fishy flavor that is balanced out with sweetness, crunch, and spice. The Pad Thai was too sweet for my taste. Even though we got mild for all the dishes, it seemed like this one was extra spiced. It was such a shame because when this came out it had plenty of sauce. It had a nice char from the wok, but the flavor let me down. The service on the other had wasn't the best. I usually don't nitpick service and yet this experience was quite poor. Know that this is a family run business (it seemed like the kids of the owners were waiting on tables) and it could have been our location in the corner but our table was often forgotten when they were asking how the food was or if we needed water so we had to flag down servers often. The food came out slowly too. In total we ordered 6 dishes (2 appetizers and 4 entrees) and 1 drink and we were at the restaurant for about 2 hours. Overall, the food was so-so for the amount of time we waited. I likely won't be returning as there are plenty of Thai places in the cities.

Carrie S.

Yelp
We've been getting take out from Ruam Mit Thai for about 9 months based on a recommendation from a friend. It never, ever disappoints. I'm so sad it's closed (temporarily) but am excited to see the new location!

Bob A.

Yelp
I had a three-stars-at-best experience here just now, but I'm giving it four stars based on other visits. I came in with three friends on a Saturday night; I think there were events downtown at the time so it really was peak time for them, and they had trouble keeping up. I had made a reservation, which it turns out was DEFINITELY needed, but it took a long time for food to come and my water never got refilled. By the time the food came I was too hungry to remember to take pictures like I usually do. I ordered something called Nua Pad Nam Manh Hoi, which was beef, broccoli, and peppers in a tasty sauce. More than 50% of that was peppers, though. Good flavor, though. Two of my friends got pho which they thought was pretty good, and another friend got Laab Gai which he really liked (he's gotten it before and happily came back to it). Worth noting that I ordered a 3/5 spice level and my friend ordered 2/5, and the 2/5 was spicier than the 3/5. I think they messed one or both of those up. Again, it was busy. Very extensive menu with plenty of options for those familiar with Thai food, but also some Laos-specific selections that might interest you. I will come back again for sure, but I will avoid this busy time. I strongly recommend doing the same, but if this kind of food is your thing, or you think it might be, you definitely won't regret trying them out.

Steven K.

Yelp
Ordered a quick lunch. Pad-see-eew. Went with bare bones order. Did not order meat version. Did not pay extra for the fat noodles. And it still costed $20 for a $10 level dish. Please get rid of ridiculous "service surcharge" before you lose all of your customers. Include it in your food price if you have to. Or else, I will continually adjust (decrease) tip, and eventually stop going all together. Oh, by the way, skinny noodles and no egg -- huge turn off!!! Pad-see-eew is supposed to (by default) have thick noodles and egg included.

Hnou V.

Yelp
Service here is kind of slow. I wouldn't recommend you coming here if you're in a rush. The food is made fresh and always comes out piping hot They have the best egg roll sauce in the Twin cities. I highly recommend you get the egg rolls to see for yourself I recommend the following food here: Any of the curry Egg rolls Pad Thai I would say their food is on the sweeter side. Their spice levels are pretty spicy but not too spicy.

Liz G.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food. I have been here quite a few times as I work nearby. All of the curries and the Pho are delicious. Pad Thai is quite sweet. Egg rolls are a must. Service is also pretty average but they get you anything you need. Highly recommend for some flavorful food!

Karen O.

Yelp
Service is so horrible. We ordered online and it was to be ready at 5:40. Went in and said would bring out. Thirty minutes later said were waiting for pad thai to be done. That was a lie. 10 more minutes and they said now that printer didn't work and had to reprint. Total wait for an order placed and paid in advance was 50 minutes!! Don't waste your time and go somewhere else. This has happened last three times.

Stacey C.

Yelp
Disappointed with the meat in both dishes we ordered-VERY overcooked. The 54. Pad See Iew with beef was very tasty BUT the beef was so dry it was inedible (think beef jerky) and the meat was cold! Must have been sitting out on the side drying out and then added at the end. The chow fun noodles were broken into such small pieces it was hard to even find the noodles. 30. Pha Ram Long Song was the same...tasty but chicken breast was so overcooked I could not even cut up the larger pieces. Used to eat here all the time-but will not go back.

Joy C.

Yelp
When I say I would travel across the country for this thai food, I LITERALLY traveled across the country for this Thai food. I live in Phoenix AZ now and nothing in AZ fills the same void that Ruam Mit does. Today during our late lunch I convinced my boyfriend we needed two appetizers (spoiler, we didn't need them but boy were they yummy!) and ordered chicken egg rolls and the chicken satay, for our entrees we had the pad thai with chicken which was perfectly spicy and the noodles were springy and covered in a balanced sauce, and the massaman curry with beef which perfectly cooked with tender beef and soft potatoes. I would absolutely add this family run spot to your St. Paul list of must tries for ethnic food.

Emily H.

Yelp
Great little, casual Thai spot. Food was great - flavors were fantastic and service was good as well. Only down side was texture of the green beans we had was a little off but the flavor made up for it. Would definitely recommend.

Gus B.

Yelp
There were six people in our party, we all got a different entree and we tasted all of the items. Best Thai food that we've had. The egg rolls were a bit too greasy and overdone but everything else was perfect!

Kedar D.

Yelp
This Thai and Laotian down-home restaurant in St. Paul offers a variety of vegan-friendly dishes and the staff can help you navigate the menu. We got the vegetable egg rolls ($5.75) which are huge, hearty, savory and really tasty. Definitely get these. The pad keow waan can be made vegan ($12.25) and looked and smelled great, but the sauce suffered from too much sweetness. The pad see iew ($13.45) can also be made vegan by omitting the egg and fish sauce. We got it with mock duck and thought it could have been great if, again, the sauce weren't sweet. The food feels fresh and substantial. The portion sizes are large and the service is friendly. I'll definitely be back but will see if they can do their dishes with less sweetness.

Hiral D.

Yelp
Awesome Pad Thai! Lots of peanuts on top and there was over half left over for me. I added some sriracha to give it more spice, but again the peanuts added a nice crunch and I enjoyed it overall. They seem to be popular and busy so if you're doing take out, you should call 30-40 minutes ahead or earlier if you're super hungry. Many tables on one side of the restaurant had dishes and uneaten food sitting out so I can see it drawing in some uninvited guests, but staff was nice and friendly. I also ordered Spring Rolls without meat but it still came with meat so I had to toss it out but they were large and had fresh ingredients. I'd come back :)

Chuck F.

Yelp
Their website said they weren't taking reservations. When we got there the next day, the host asked if we had a reservation. So, we had to wait half an hour for a table that we could have had if we had been allowed to make a reservation the day before. Restaurants - please keep your websites current.

Ted K.

Yelp
Favorite Thai place in St. Paul, get the broccoli chicken fried rice, some satay, and egg rolls and your set

Gene G.

Yelp
Ruam Mit Thai was the closes Asian restaurant from the Hyatt and only a $7 Uber ride. After a long day from attending a national convention , we're craving Thai food. Living in California, we have decent amount of delicious quality Thai /Lao restaurants. But how would the restaurants in Minneapolis , compare to our's in California ? Ruam Mit Thai was good. Meals prepared with same ingredients and flavors were from fine. You really cannot taste much difference. Although I feel California is more diversed and more has more to offer July 25 2018

Janet D.

Yelp
I have ordered Takeout from 3 different asian restaurants in the last month, and Ruam Mit is the only one that served the order correctly. I loved the #30 Pha Ram Long Song, which is a red curry with spinach. I ordered it with shrimp and extra vegetables (extra charge for each, which is to be expected). I ordered mine with a hotness of 3 (on a scale of 1 to 5) and it was spicy which was perfect for me. Jasmine rice came with it. The shrimp was tender with tails and the sauce was not thick but more brothy but still had the red curry flavor and was delicious! Spinich was freshly steamed, not frozen. Best thai food between St. Paul and Bloomington.

Shelley S.

Yelp
Oh those spring rolls! SO good with the peanut sauce! I will go back just for those. I had the mild pad Thai- it was spicy enough to clear the sinuses- but still had a good flavor. The green curry and shrimp stir fry were also popular at our table. But again- the spring rolls!!

Marjie M.

Yelp
Found by accident but will definitely be back, food was amazing! While the place was packed and the staff crazy busy they were awesome!

L C.

Yelp
We have been going here for years and are very disappointed with our last couple of orders. Last night, the PAD THAI was so overcooked we had to dig it out. One big glob of noodles came out, with the overcooked dry chicken on the bottom. Not at all good. There was also a stir-fry where, all the veggies were very soft and so overcooked there was no color or texture left in them. just like canned. Lastly, the apps...Special egg rolls were soft, soggy and very greasy, the chicken sate was like shoe leather and we couldn't get it off the sticks. I am not sure what has happened there, but they can do better. Hopefully they will improve but I think we will look somewhere else in the future.

Santina U.

Yelp
I used to love this place soooooo much. The green curry was my absolute favorite. However, the last two times I ordered they messed up my order. Asked for vegetarian fried rice and received chicken. They did comp my rice tho. Second time I asked for mock duck in my green curry and received tofu. Since I don't mind tofu I didn't call about the mistake, but twice in a row?? What happened??? There are so many great Thai places around and even though Ruam had my favorite green curry, I've moved on. Sorry guys.

Emily Z.

Yelp
Came back here with my boyfriend for a second time and it was so sad. Everything for everyone be out extremely slow. The table in front of us had only one dish out of two come out (which they waited a while for) then 30-40 min went by and the second dish never came and they just left. For our experience, we ordered right when them came to us but the appetizer came 40 minutes after we ordered it. The waters came 25 minutes after we sat down. Just ridiculous. If you know you're busy on a Friday night, hire more people. I will not be back here.

C H.

Yelp
Walk past this eatery. The food is mediocre and the portions are minuscule. The Laab Kai/Nua was appetizer size and the Mok Ka was squishy and the size of two tablespoons...maybe. Service was also sub-par. We ordered delivery from another restaurant before we even paid the bill. Watch out also for the 10% service charge, which is not disclosed anywhere.

Tong X.

Yelp
Service is quite slow, there's only 2 tables with customers, but still waited for a long time to get our food, kids ran out of patience.

Joseph L.

Yelp
Came back again... the server came the the table "ready to order". Well hello to you too sir. Food is still good. They upped their already high prices. Unfortunately I'll probably not be back ------------------------- After ranting and raving about this place for close to 20+ years- I have to say I am not happy with them. The servers just absolutely reek of hating customers. If you hate working so much find a different job. Your restaurant is open till 10- Kitchen closes half hour early- So don't be rude if someone comes 45 minutes to closing. That is not unreasonable. You close the kitchen at 930 so you have time to clean and leave- At least serve up until then. Your servers have been rude and unfriendly. Not planning on being back which is sad- however wouldn't want to risk my money on whether or not you messed up the food

Molly M.

Yelp
GREEN CURRY that's all you need to remember. Oh yeah, their pork Pad Thai...and the thick noodle Pas See Lew. This restaurant is not far from the Minnesota Childrens Museum, so I didn't notice if the service was a little slow (I was glad I was sitting for a change). Worth.every.penny!!

Sheri H.

Yelp
We were "catfished" by the catfish, aka 45B. The small portion of fish rendered 2 tablespoons full. The green beans, which comprised 75 % of the plate's food, were not steamed. Perhaps they were passed over a steaming kettle! We also ordered the ground chicken version of 45A, with no to mild seasoning. I could not eat it as it was 5 alarm HOT! We should have sent back all of the food. We had 2 orders of tea and the bill was over $50. In addition to the 7.85% sales tax in St Paul, the restaurant added a 10% service fee. The latter is a scam in some places in St Paul. It is not law, and not all dining places tack it on. I was so incensed by the poor quality of food, poor service, etc, I paid cash and left no tip. If I am ever served food like this offering again, I shall refuse to eat it and leave. There was no offer of removing the cost from our bill. The sooner this place closes permanently, the better

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
I stopped in to Ruam Mit while in town and was very pleased with my experience. I ordered a single Spring Roll (vegetarian) and the Pad See Iew with tofu. The Spring Roll is what I would typically call a Summer Roll, but was stuffed with noodles, lettuce, carrots, and cilantro and was served with a delicious warm peanut sauce at the recommendation of my server. Pad Se Iew is one of my go to orders at Thai restaurants so I can kind of gauge how it compares to what I know and love from home. Raum Mit's comes with a skinny rice noodle with option to upgrade to wide for $2 extra. I stayed with the skinny noodles and was alright with my decision. Their take on Pad See Iew was almost more peppery than I expected and less saucy, but delicious. The tofu was fried perfectly so there was a slight crunch and yet still soft on the inside. The broccoli had a great crunch too! Service was very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
We came here for on a Saturday evening when there were many different shows going on. We got here right at the rush and got one of the last tables. It was a steady rush and at times service was slow but to be expected. We did order pretty soon. We both got the pad thai. I got it with chicken and no spice and was glad I did, but I have a very low tolerance. My husband got it with pork and low spice. He said it was a good level for him. It took half an hour for our food but like I said, we got there right at the dinner rush. I noticed they also did take out. I thought the pad thai was so good, probably the best I ever had. It was a pretty big portion. We probably could have gotten just an appetizer and split the pad thai. I was glad I discovered this place as it is near work and I may need to get take out!

Yelp
Just not having good luck with Thai restaurants this week. To be fair, they had a full packed place for lunch so I'm guessing the buffet was good but my colleague and j decide to go a la cart since I only wanted a Tom Yum soup and him a curry. Simple right? Unfortunately, it took 40 minutes for our food to come, it almost seems they forgot us and then we followed up when the crowd was starting to thin. The Tom Yum soup broth was good, the pork was a little tough so I'll try the chicken next time. The curry was excellent according to my colleague and he's from India and had to please so this was saying a lot. To me the saving grace was dessert. The fresh mango and sticky rice was worth the wait. Would've been a four star for me if the service was better but will definitely try it again when I have more time.

Yelp
Came here after lunch hours and was seated right away, must've missed the crowd. Service was slow, had to ask for water a few times, waited quite a while to get to-go boxes as well and to check out. On the other hand, menu had a good variety of dishes in each category. We had the veggie egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Both crunchy and crisp to perfection. Egg roll was nice and think, not the usual thin wrap skinny rolls. I had the beef salad with sticky rice. It was sweet with a hint of spiciness. I'd say if you're expecting a full filling dish, don't get the beef salad. The amount of rice was a lot more than the 4 bites I had with the beef salad. Wish there was a little more, but I guess you can also dip the remaining rice in the beef salad sauce too. I went for the level 1 spice = mild, perfect choice because my spice tolerant have been weak! Overall it was a quick in and out stop. Would love to try the Pad See Ew or Pad Thai next time.

Yelp
This is my roommate's favorite spot for Thai food! I've had three experiences here, the first time was great - we had excellent service. The second time we went we had to wait quite some time before our food came out, and we could tell several other customers were, too. The third was with a Doordash order, and unfortunately, our driver had been held up here for some time because the order hadn't been prepared by the time he got there. I will say the food is pretty good. My favorites are the curry puffs, the Thai Shrimp Tempura, and the Spring Rolls. Overall, very tasty, but be mindful if you're on a time crunch.

Yelp
The restaurant is nothing fancy but the food speaks for itself in flavor and spice! My go to dishes are: - Green Curry with Chicken-- they have the green curry sauce down! Broccoli and zucchini add great texture. - Beef Fried Rice-- it's not just fried rice, it's freakishly addictive Ruam Mit fried rice and you get a lot of it! - Pad Thai-- one of my favorite places for Pad Thai! Savory with lots of crushed peanuts. - Special Egg Rolls-- I always order these! A perfectly light crispy fry on the outside, generous pork and noodle filling inside with a delightful peanut sauce. Service can be hit and miss but after several visits here I would say it's generally more on the positive side, no fuss, focus is on the food. Prices are very reasonable too and a good location if you're doing other activities downtown St. Paul. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
I ate here once in November 2021when the dining room was open, had only 2 items. my total bill was $28 +-, left a %15 tip. what a surprise to see my bank statement with me seemingly having been charged an additional $10 to $42!

Yelp
Just down a few blocks from me, Ruam Mit thai has been on my list for quite a while and finally I got a chance to try it out. I ordered takeout but it was a hit/miss experience. For 2 apps, 2 entrée's, 1 side (noodles) it was a little pricey for takeout. It was about $60 for the total. -Special Egg Rolls: These were filled with pork and the outside of the eggroll was nice and crispy/golden brown. However, the inside of the eggroll seemed to be a bit dry and a little too stuffed. They were good but not my favorite. -Cream Cheese Wontons: The wonton wrapping was tough to eat, I wish they would have been a bit crispier. I know people were raving about the sauce that comes with it but I really did not enjoy it. It was almost like a sweet and sour sauce and they decided to add cinnamon last minute. I feel like cinnamon is not a common ingredient in most Asian dishes and for me the combo wasn't right. -#30 Pha Ram Long Song: Out of everything we ordered this was probably my favorite dish. The sauce was a curry peanut sauce which tasted really good with the tofu and spinach that came with it. We ordered medium spice which was the perfect kick. If you are a fan of curry dishes or want to give something new a try I would definitely recommend this. You can choose different protein options if you are not a fan of curry. The entrée's come served with white rice which is a nice addition. -#36 (I think) Pad Ped Bai Kra Prao: Save your money!! Do not order this. We ordered this with beef for $16.95. There was barely any beef inside and the beef pieces we did get were so hard and tough it was difficult to eat and not enjoyable. The sauce itself was good but I don't like how hugely chopped the veggies were. This is a dish I would not order again. -Pad Sew Ew: Ordered this with the wide rice noodles. Quite good, sweeter than most pad sew ew I have had in the past. Also, the noodles with kind of chopped up. When I eat the wide rice noodles I like them to be more put together and structured. If you have had them before you will know what I mean. From my experience, being overall average I would not come here again. In the St.Paul and surrounding area there is much better Thai places with the same types of dishes for way better pricing and taste. The cashier was nice on the phone and when I came to pick up my order. I appreciate customer service and this made my experience positive.

Yelp
Don't waste your time here, trying to find parking, or the food. It's horrible, I had the pad thai and not only did it come out cold, but not enough meat for the $16.25 they charge. The beef was chewy as could be. The restaurant is dirty, restrooms are even worse and horrible customer service.

Yelp
Great food, but slow service. We came around noon (probably their peak lunch rush), and were there for about an hour and a half. For $11.25 I got a pretty substantive entree. Quality was definitely at the higher end of Thai food in the Twin Cities. I would definitely go back, but will probably call my order in ahead of time in the future. Spice level is pretty weak (which is a feature for most people, I would guess). I ordered my meal Thai spicy, and only got Minnesota spicy. Guess they didn't want to accidentally kill me. :)

Yelp
Ordered take out via online ordering. Fast, easy, and convenient! On a Friday evening, it was an hour wait time from ordering to estimated pick-up time, and we waited about 10 mins after arrival. They are definitely busy! This is the only place I've seen where ordering a single spring roll is possible. My husband wanted one and I didn't so this was perfect. The rolls are HUGE. The accompanying peanut sauce is tasty. I ordered the #30 red curry dish with mock duck. This was so unique and flavorful The bed of spinach comes in a separate box. It was fun to "plate" my dish and made it seem like we were dining in! This dish was full of peanut and coconut flavors. The mock duck was thinly sliced and packed with curry flavor. I ordered it at the medium-hot level. This was a perfectly balanced level of heat that wasn't overwhelming. The pad thai was a-okay. The noodles were cut to 1-2" pieces, which I've never seen with other pad thai dishes I've ordered. It was a bit dry. Overall, on par with other pad thai I've had in the cities. Overall was a good meal, the #30 was 5 stars for sure!
