Went for lunch my local Thai restaurant really enjoying my yellow curry . They’re very homey restaurant they use biodegradable straws👍Rice was perfection, chili oil, Thai food on Melrose, two thumbs up. A neighborhood favorite.

Google
We love Thai food! One of our best meals during our LA trip was to @ruammitr_melrose !! The food was delicious! I’m still dreaming of the duck curry over their coconut rice or Pad Kee mow!! Don’t get me started on the fish! so yummy! Great ambiance, friendly service, and great food- what more do you need? I can't wait to come back and try their wings!

Google
Great flavors, and friendly staff. My boyfriend and I had a reservation for a table outside and they accommodated us. Although you really don't need to reserve. Small place, went there on a Monday around 7, not too busy. We ordered 2 appetizers the spicy cauliflower and the garlic edamame both good. Spicy cauliflower was really spicy, if you do not like spice might not be for you. Then I had the yellow curry and ordered a side of rice. All delicious 😋

Google
Yummy food! Order processing will take time as there are lot of take out orders. Also, expect mismatch cutlery per dish (like soup spoon with mango Ruam mitr) but food is delicious! Will definitely go there again.

Google
5 out of 5 this place is great! If you're looking for a authentic Thai meal this is your choice! Fantastic food good prices and nice toss all combines equal a fantastic experience. Located near West Hollywood off of Melrose a little Hidden Gem. This place is perfect for delivery and or dining in. Everything on the menu is fantastic make sure to ask your waiter if you have a question about the food or want some things spicier or Mild they are happy to accommodate.

Google
Super friendly employees and an amazing menu! We struggled to decide what to order because of all the options, especially with all these vegetarian options. Food seemed extremely authentic tasting and was very flavorful. Only critique I have is that I wished it was spicier, but that’s something I should have asked for myself.

Google
The food was absolutely amazing, it blew me away! It had lots of fantastic vegetarian options! The place had a great atmosphere and lots of nice plants and decor! The staff was super genuine and friendly ! Would definitely recommend trying this place out!

This is the best Thai Food in town. When I'm looking for Thai food, I always order from here. They are fast but always consistent with their cooking!

Yelp
Ruam Mitr is a Thai restaurant with vegetarian friendly options. My friend suggested this restaurant and made a reservation at 5:30 PM on Saturday. It turned out reservation was not needed because (1) our party came at 5 PM and (2) we were the only customers. [Parking]: Sorry but street metered parking only (free on holidays). [Atmosphere & service]: The restaurant has a limited outdoor space for two parties and a unique indoor dining space with various plants. Customers need to scan the QR code to access their full menu and the staff will take customer's orders in person. Unfortunately only one person was handling both cashier job and serving dishes, so it was definitely a little bit confusing on whether to place our orders at the counter or directly via the online menu. The sole employee did eventually take our orders at our table, but I did walk up to the cashier counter to pay our bill. [Menu]: According to Uber Eats, the top three most popular dishes are Pad Thai, Crab Fried Rice, and Tom Ka Soup. Other options include curry, chicken wings, papaya salads, pad see ew, khao soi, tom yum soup, etc. *** Thai iced Tea or coffee (half and half - free via the Yelp check in offer): Apparently customers can choose various milk options from half and half, almond, and soy milk. It was definitely my first time having an option choosing different milk for Thai iced tea. The drink was alright, but can't really complain since it was free. Pad thai (pan fried rice noodle, egg, bean sprout, and crushed peanut in house pad Thai sauce - chicken & mild spicy - $17.00): Mild spicy here is actually pretty spicy (like Sriracha spicy), but with that being said it was one of better & flavorful Pad Thai I have had. Please note that shrimp or beef option will cost an extra $4. Crispy Enoki Mushroom (with sweet and sour sauce - $10.00): While it wasn't super exciting, it was still a solid appetizer. *** 4.5-star on food, but bump down due to alright service.

Yelp
Doesn't look like they are opened anymore. I have a credit with them because I ordered all vegan vegetarian and was sent meat instead. I am really disappointed. There is another restaurant in the space.

Yelp
I was so disappointed to see Ruam Mitr close. It truly had the best Tom Kah Gai soup I have ever had, even better then in Thailand! I used to go twice a week as my treat before weight training. Kwan is an awesome chef and person. Kwan, If you see this please let me know if you are at another restaurant in the LA area. I will follow you there just for another great Tom Kha Gai soup, not to mention the fabulous Crying Tiger dish! Your friend...Drew (213) 247 - 4000 dfenton@aol.com

Yelp
Oh my gosh this was the best experience. The chef personally came out to say hi to us and deliver our food. I learned that she has been a chef forever and some of the recipes here are her family favorites from their business in Thailand. The food certainly tasted worthy of another visit and I would recommend anyone to come here. It's really elevated Thai food with really fresh ingredients. The chef mentioned she goes to the farmers market to gather it. I can sense the passion and love for each dish, and I am so grateful to have gotten a chance to try it. The service was also impeccable and the atmosphere is super cute with the plants everywhere.

Yelp
If you want to treat yourself to a nice ambiance and delicious Thai food, this is your spot! They have so many vegetarian options. I removed one star, because on two different occasions, I've asked for medium spicy, and both times have been unbearably spicy. definitely not what i'd expect when I order medium spicy. They did remake my dish when it happened the first time, but that's not something I'd want to ask for because I hate being wasteful. The owner of the restaurant is so friendly and it's nice to see her whenever she's there :)

Yelp
The sauce was fresh and had a great taste. I was able to get it mild, which is nice. The vegetables were cabbage and carrots and tasted very fresh. The rice was cooked perfectly. The meat was good, but I have had better more succulent pork meat in other restaurants. Usually it taste the best when it's actually barbecued. Yet still, I'd eat here again because one dish is not much to judge on. Parking was pretty easy on the side streets.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've left a review, but like the last review here, I came for the Tom Kha Gai. I come to LA on business every few months and always look forward to their soup. I'm actually in my Uber from LAX and went online to order, lol, that's just how much I've been waiting to have it! Better than any Tom Kha I've had in Thailand, so sad it's gone!

Yelp
Kow soi - so yum! A large serving of soup, noodles cooked al dente. Would've liked more veg and noodles since there was so much soup. My favorite place so far for this dish! Pork larb - the spice level hits you late. Otherwise fresh flavors. A bit too sweet for me. Didn't get the papaya salad this time. Next time!

Yelp
Special delivery for the team. My food was good. Five star! Excellent service, delivered right to my door.

Yelp
TLDR: Underwhelming food and service, do not recommend visiting. I was jonesing for Thai food and after reading all the rave reviews, I decided to stop by. Considering the location in a prime location on Melrose, I figured this was a safe bet. Unfortunately I was wrong. As soon as I walked in, the poor service I would soon receive became painfully obvious. I reserved an outdoor table on OpenTable which turned out to be one of two tables on the street with a wafting stench of weed. I decided to sit indoors instead and the store owners just told me to grab an open table. Reserving a table was just useless. The owners were sitting and chatting away at a table and barely acknowledged us. Someone eventually took our order and we got the following items: -- Thai Tea: this was good and pretty much what you get at most places. -- Roti with Yellow Curry: flaky with a lovely dip. I liked the taste and freshness of both items. -- Pad Kee Mow (with tofu and vegetables): the tofu was a bit rubbery and there were barely any noodles. 90% of the dish was onions which was disappointing. -- Mango/ Sweet Sticky Rice: I enjoyed this as well. The sticky rice was nicely cooked and the coconut sauce and mango were good additions to the rice. -- Sweet Roti: I thought this would be a stuffed roti but instead it was the same savory roti with a condensed milk sauce. Of course the grossest thing was the half alive mosquito under one of the roti pieces. I've never dealt with something like this and felt nauseated after finding it. I honestly question the quality of the rest of the food now. I wasn't impressed tbh and likely won't return. The half dead mosquito especially grossed me out. Bummer when a place with rave reviews doesn't live up to expectations. Parking: There's a valet across the street. Ambiance: 1/5 Food: 2/5 Service: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 Would Return: No

Yelp
Please tell me where you're going? Best Thai food in LA by a lot. Best Tom yum soup on the planet. I hope you've just relocated and not closed for good, would do anything for that soup

Yelp
If I could give this restaurant 6 stars, I WOULD! Ruam Mitr is a MUST TRY if you're in the LA area. I grew up in SoCal and have had plenty of Thai food in the past but nothing has hit the spot like Ruam Mitr in my life. I first had their Garlic Chicken Wings, Dynamite Wings, and Pad Thai when a friend of mine ordered takeout and despite it being an hour since pick up, I knew the chicken were THE BEST WINGS I ever had the moment I took a bite. Since that moment, I had promised myself to go back in person to have their food (specifically their wings). I kept that promise last year in a November when I went with a couple of friends. After finding some convenient neighborhood parking adjacent to the restaurant, we were met by the greenery of plants filling the room that set a natural, comforting ambiance and a friendly server welcoming us in that afternoon. Once seated, she had let us know that they didn't have wings prepared due to a very large catering the night before and wouldn't have any available until later that day. Heartbroken in the moment, I swept my feelings aside and continued to order other items instead to enjoy. Then, that's when everything changed for the better when in the middle of our meal, one of the chefs came to our table to ask how we were doing and how the food was. Through our conversation, I let her know that we had come specifically for the wings but heard about how they were out due to the catering last night. Immediately, she told us that she would have it ready for us and could make it right away, lighting the widest smile on my face. That chef turned out to be the owner of Ruam Mitr, Kwan. And yes, the wings were just as delicious as I first had them--maybe even better than I remember I might say. Since then, I've been recommending this special place to my friends for meals, dates, and occasions. I was finally able to go back to Ruam Mitr when I was in LA as I'm not from the area. Again, Kwan was present and struck up a conversation with my table. She let us know about a new wings flavor she was planning on adding to the menu, Spicy Basil Chicken Wings, and offered to make it for us the next time we came by just letting her know. Who can no to an offer like that? The following week, my friend and I came back and let the server know we were back for that dish (as seen in the last 2 pictures) along with an order of their Thai Salad for a good balance of a meal. Kwan brought out the wings plated beautifully with a strong savory aroma from the tamarind sauce, peppers, basil. Having a taste for ourselves, the wings were just as mouthwatering as the others and is definitely a wonderful addition to their current set--something about the batter texture of all the wings continues to blow my mind and is what always stands out. I will without a doubt continue to support this restaurant and hope more do too. :) TLDR: You MUST try Ruam Mitr

Yelp
All I have to say is, wow! We randomly found this gem on yelp and so glad we did! Every single dish we had was cooked to perfection. This was better than some of the Thai restaurants in Thai town. Crab fried rice, branzino and pad kee mow, oyster mushrooms were are fav! The service here was also phenomenal.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is out of this world. I cannot stress this enough--it is the BEST Thai cuisine in Los Angeles county. My go-to choice is pad Thai with veggie chikn or beef. If you love spice PLEASE be mindful because I did very spicy once and it was very hard to power through. I've only gotten take out delivery because it's far from where I live and work. BUT I have met the owner Kwan who's absolutely the best ever! This place will not disappoint, I promise!
google avatar

Yelp
We just randomly selected a place for dinner, but we didn't expect much. When we first arrived, there was no one, so indoor seating was fine (don't see outdoor seating). Both the waiter and the owner were very nice. The owner recommended us what to order and glad to listened to her. The menu is actually their personal recipe pass down by her family. We ordered thai tea, tamarind fish, oyster mushroom, pad Thai, fried rice, seaweed rolls, Tom yum soup and curry duck. All of them were soooo good! The each portion was average, slightly less than some other Thai restaurants, but still a good size. Oh forgot to mention about the drinks. The small Thai tea is actually not small, and the large was super large. It's above $30ish per person. Almost forget to mention, they also have lots of vegetarian and vegan options! Highly recommended this place.

Yelp
Ruam Mitr is a delicious low-key Thai restaurant that should be on your list to order from. Reservations are easy as this place seems more popular as a take-out spot - the indoors are a bit cozy, but there is some outdoor seating on the sidewalk which isn't bad at all save for the occasional car with loud exhaust/intake. Papaya salad - refreshing, delicious, and one of the spiciest if you don't ask for a level down. Crispy wings - great crispy batter coated with a sweet sauce. Well cooked chicken with good flavor Crab pad thai - good amount of crab and dish was very tasty Pad see ew - somehow more meat than noodles so definitely can't complain about that. If you get things spicy, they will have a kick that's fine for those well versed in spice but less so if not. Will look to order from here one day soon! Metered street parking available if you can find a spot.

Yelp
I'm really trying to turn a new leaf, and not write negative reviews for small businesses. but call me a Yelp Karen I don't care. I'm telling the truth. fuck the duck here. $28 for a small ass, dried out portion that retained none of the qualities of duck that make it delicious. no seasoning to the egg noodles and bland ass spinach. Complete rip off. Plenty of better Thai restaurants for half the price within a 1 mile radius. And I truly don't mind paying $30 for a dish that is up to par. This sadly was NOT. the papaya salad was also terrible. the dominant flavor was lemon. if you've had legit papaya salad, you know what a tragedy this is. WHAT KINDA PAPAYA SALAD IS THIS? this either ain't an authentic Thai restaurant, or it's really poorly executed by people who have no passion for food or any business making Thai food. do yourself a favor and pass.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Would go again. A must try!!Amazing servers as well. Recommend to anyone nearby!

Yelp
On Monday Night my partner Dan decided to surprise me with Grubhub from Ruam Mitr. Clearly we loved our first experience with this amazing Thai restaurant. Hence - he was eager to dig deeper into their menu. Tom Ka with Shrimp It was delicious, creamy and fresh with perfectly cleaned and cooked shrimp. However, last time I had their Tom Ka I opted for the pork. I thought the pork was better. The pork was meaty and rich, worked really well with the broth. So while the shrimp was amazing the pork is one level better. Hey - I'm honest! Pad See Ew Amazing! We had the Pad See Ew with pork. OMG! The flavors were perfect. The noodles were cooked and seasoned flawlessly. This was better than the Pad Thai we had last time. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone trying Ruam Mitr for the first time. Fresh Rolls Not sure why Dan ordered these. He is the opposite of a vegetarian. So I loved them; however, wish they had some shrimp or meat within. The two sauces which accompanied the rolls were delicious; however, the rolls needs a non-vegetarian protein. My 2 cents. Bottom line? This is our new go to establishment for Thai food. There is nothing better to be found in Los Angeles.

Yelp
Ordered the Pad Thai and the Khao Soi and they were both delicious and beautifully presented. The cream cheese wontons were delicious too. Great service. Street parking is spotty.

Yelp
I had some problems with my order which was unusual because this restaurant usually does a great job and has fresh tasty Thai food. The owner personally contacted me to clear up the issues and make everything right. I was impressed with how caring and professional she was. Everyone makes a mistake but it's how you handle it that makes all the difference. Thank you Kwan and Ruam Mitr for standing behind your business and looking after your customers! Xx

Yelp
Absolutely unbelievable! Everything we ordered was phenomenal, service was excellent and I especially loved the plant decor! Highly recommend the khao soi!
google avatar

Yelp
Well seasoned and great tasting food. I was pleasantly surprised. The crab fried rice is Award winning. They also have a ton of plants all around. Give this place a try!

Yelp
So good. got it delivered and everything still tasted so good and fresh. Here's what we got: fried mushrooms, khao soi with shrimp (amazing they also give you a lot of shrimp), green curry, pad see ew, dumplings Everything was delicious I will have to try their soft shelled shrimp next time as I wanted that but they sold out for the day

Karolina B.

Yelp
Great service, awesome food and amazing ambience! Highly recommend!Great location and flowers inside create a great natural vibe!

Yelp
Service SUCKS!! Your hands get stuck to the dirty tables. Food is mediocre. Service SUCKS!!!

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my boyfriend and our dog. They were very hospitable and allowed us to sit inside with our dog. They brought our dog some water and a little bowl of chicken. Food is fantastic! Best Thai on Melrose! We ordered the fried crab rice and green curry with a side of dumplings and edamame. To drink we got the ice tea. They don't skimp on anything. Plenty of crab in the fried rice and good quality crab meat as well. Green curry was a healthy portion fit for two people or one hungry person. The ice teas were served in Masson jars so plenty ice tea. The owner is very friendly. She came by a few times to chat and get to know us. At one point held our dog and petted him and struck up a conversation with us. They make you feel like part of the family and has a great neighbourhood feel. The decor inside is also fantastic! Plenty of plants to keep your eye, mind and soul happy.

Yelp
This Thai restaurant's signboard caught our eye from far while we were walking along the stretch of restaurants. Nothing fancy, which caught our attention when we walked by. Decided to try it out. Good thing we did! Nice, cozy and intimate restaurant, great service. Wasn't too crowded and food came quick. Exceeded my expectation! MUST TRY! - CHICKEN WINGS with sweet and house spicy sauce. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. - RED CURRY is so flavorful. Rich and creamy curry that makes you crave for more. - PAPAYA SALAD is so refreshing and had the kick! - ANGRY FISH is delish! Great flavor. - PRATA WITH CURRY is one of the crispest prata I have had. Tried many places usually the prata is too thick and too soft. This is crispy! IT'S OK.... - PINEAPPLE RICE the rice is too moist. Lack flavor. - CRYING TIGER the beef is on the fatty side. *Remember to CHECK-IN YELP for FREE THAI TEA! =)

Yelp
Booked through OpenTable for outdoor seating. Found parking on the side street. Again with last minute searching, but really happy to find a dog-friendly Thai spot! We ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken, Pad See Ew with Shrimp - both spicy and Fresh Coconut. Cashew Nut Chicken ($13) - By far the most amazing dish. Totally out of this world, it was so good. The flavours reminded me of this little Thai spot I used to go to in New Zealand, super authentic. Pad See Ew with Shrimp ($13 + $3) - Very tasty, good quality ingredients and delicious. Fresh Coconut ($6) - When I saw this on the menu I just had to have it. Great for a sunny day and sitting outside and chilling eating yummy Thai :) Quantity 4/5 - Good portions. Ambience 4/5 - Very casual, relaxed vibe. Good for a laid back lunch/dinner. Service 5/5 - Awesome service!! Kwan is super lovely and chatted with us for some time, showing pics of her dogs and even gave our puppy a soft toy. She was super sweet :) Definitely went above & beyond on the customer service! Taste - 5/5 - Delicious Thai food, excited to try the other items on the menu! Parking - Street-parking, can be tricky depending on timing. Overall a lovely, family-friendly & dog-friendly place. Good, quality food and great service, what more could you ask for? It's super chilled & relaxed. Proper home-style Thai. They also have a vegetarian menu if you're into that, so something for everyone :) Love this place and a great location - will be back!

Yelp
I just wanted to update this and commend this restaurant for their excellent customer service. It is rare you find a restaurant that corrects what they did wrong & makes up for it. I really appreciate Kwan taking the time to reach out to me & remake my meal which was so much better than the first time I had it!

maleah b.

Yelp
They were my favorite Thai place in LA. So dang good. I'm sad to find out they are closed permanently. I was hoping it was only temporary. Anyone know why they closed and where the chef went?
google avatar

Wynona B.

Yelp
Their crispy skinned fish in tamarind sauce is SO good. Perfectly cooked with a complex sauce. Their fried soft shell crab appetizer is delicious, so flavorful and again, well cooked. Not overly breaded or greasy. Their roasted duck curry is so yummy. Their curry sauce is super rich and flavorful, not watered down or lacking in curry paste. So good. Plus they have so many beautiful plants all around!

Michele A.

Yelp
Very sad to see this business close down. Their food was wonderful and I bought take out from them a few times a month. I think they were really hurt during Covid. When I noticed the prices creeping upward while the portions got slightly smaller, I worried about their future. Unfortunately I was right. Like may other patrons, I hope they reappear somewhere else.
google avatar

Ren R.

Yelp
My friend and I stumbled across this place when our dinner plans fell through and was not disappointed! I got the Pad Kee Mow and my friend got the Pad Woon Sen. We also got the Thai Ice Tea and Arnold Palmer. The food was pretty standard, a classic American Thai place -- personally, my food was a little too piercingly spicy, but was good overall. My favorite part of the restaurant is the atmosphere and the interior decor in the place. The chairs were really comfortable and the plants around the restaurant were really cute. It is very small so keep that in mind. They are very COVID conscious -- had hand sanitizers everywhere and had a QR code menu. It was a good experience.

Vlad N.

Yelp
great food! Duck was very soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. a lot of food, better share between two people. noodles are very soft and go well with the sauce! recommend very much
google avatar

Lucia S.

Yelp
The Khao Soi from Ruam Mitr is my absolute favorite. It's the perfect comfort food! There are a bunch of great Thai restaurants in my neighborhood and I always try Khao Soi but this is my fav. I love how theirs has chunks of chicken rather than just a drumstick- I feel like you get more chicken and it's easier to eat! But the broth... oh my god the broth!!! it's perfect. I usually get this to go/delivered and they package it perfectly- fixins separate from broth etc. so it travels well. They give you so much, too!!
google avatar

Miri K.

Yelp
The owner is so so sweet Wow absolutely amassing service which you don't see anywhere these days Thank you for pad Thai and pad keemow our favorites!!! Thank you thank you

Julia B.

Yelp
Pho is amazing! My bf says yellow curry is delicious also, we are recommend this place!

Yelp
This is my first time here and I ordered Khao Soi Togo they gave me uncooked chicken ... just hope I'm not sick
google avatar

Hungry Fat Girl ..

Yelp
The food here was pretty good. They seem really busy and they still managed to make my food ready within 10 minutes so that's a plus!! Ordered the pad see eu, chicken satay, and the cheese wontons. Overall, the portions for satay and the wontons were kind of small compared to other places I've tried. Okay so THIS PLACE HAS AMAZING CREAM CHEESE WONTONS. I'm super picky so i can easily say this was one of the best. It was creamy , crispy and just the right amount of cheese inside . The pad see ew was pretty good. Not the best but still pretty good!! The chicken was a tiny bit over cooked. The chicken satay was interesting. It looked very rectangular and had a weird texture . My boyfriend wasn't a fan. I thought it was pretty good but I felt like it was a little too soft . Felt like I was eating tofu or something. Overall was a decent place!
google avatar

Tatiana N.

Yelp
Great pad see yew! I was supposed to share it with someone but I remembered thinking it was very hard to stop eating. I had it with chicken because that is what was recommended and it was tasty. Yelp check in coming in clutch with Thai tea

Yelp
Ordered chicken and they gave me tofu in the Tom ka soup which was cold and too sweet. No way to return It through door dash. Never again. I'm no vegan.

Yelp
*TAKEOUT*THURSDAY* It's Thursday and we're hoping you're doing takeouts today!! * we think Thai food, besides Vietnamese food, is the ultimate takeout food because they are easily boxed and ready to serve once we're home. And fried rice is the ultimate comfort food. So we encourage you to order takeouts today, better yet order Thai food, & best yet order fried rice from Ruam Mitr on Melrose. * We had a chance to try a couple of dishes here before the latest lockdown. Their food was fresh and bursting with flavors. So yumm!! You just need to trust us and order their food today. You'll fall in love with their food, too . ______________________________ What we recommend: Seafood Fried Rice Khaki Soi Noodles Crying Tigers Papaya Salad Larb Chicken Wings Thai Iced Tea ______________________________

Yelp
Lovely spot for thai food in los angeles that is local and authentic. I think the roti canai / roti prata is some of the best I've had in this city. Thank you for making it so well! Definitely give this place a try
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
I had PHO with Seafood. The portion was generous and with out a doubt SO GOOD. What I truly enjoyed the most was how fresh the muscles were. I also had fried mushrooms with a tangy sauce. Thank you for your service. The noodles hit!!!
google avatar

Holly L.

Yelp
Incredible delivery. Tons of care put into packaging. The meat was really nicely cooked, not a chewy afterthought like a lot of take-out. Nothing was greasy or too sweet. Just really layered yummy flavors! Will be a regular here.
google avatar

Nicole Q.

Yelp
You must get the CRYING TIGER. It comes with a very flavorful, spicy lime and chili dipping sauce. The spicy wings and corn fritters are also solid choices for appetizers. Unfortunately the listed menu price did not reflect the actual price of the dishes but the waiter made sure to clear this up as we were ordering. Admittedly this is a bit confusing for patrons. Rice on the side is not standard unless you order curry. Food came out rather slowly as everything was cooked to order. Not the best service
google avatar

Yelp
The best Thai food I've had in LA so far. Friendly staff, nice ambience, great location. I'll definitely be back.
