Ruben and Ozzy's Oyster Bar & Grill

Unreal place for Mexican seafood, or just seafood in general. We came here for lunch because Joshua Tree was too hot. We ordered everything to share and it was so good. We ordered the fried oyster taco, New Orleans oysters, and the Campechana (which might be the star of the show). They were quick with their service and everyone was very nice. We were seated right away as well. A great place to take a break from exploring.

This restaurant deserves five stars! The food is delicious and fresh, the prices are reasonable, and the staff with the hair tied up is very friendly!

The service was excellent. The food was ok. It was a nice place to have a few drinks and eat a few appetizers and people watch.

I led myself to this place based on the amount of positive reviews but the food didn’t match the hype. We ordered the oysters, cocktails and sea food fettuccine. The oysters tasted good but the rest of the food tasted odd. There’s an ingredient in there that makes everything taste weird. The atmosphere inside was that of a lower end restaurant but prices of a luxury restaurant. Patio seating seemed better but we opted against it since it was raining and cold. It smelled like a fish mixed with bleach inside. At the end of it all we went home still kind of hungry and dissatisfied and the bill was high.

This place is killer. I highly recommend. I had the jumbo coconut shrimp, and three tacos (grilled fish, shrimp, and fried oysters). Amazing. Ruben the owner is a great guy as well!

I am gluten free so I got the shrimp scampi which is shrimp on a bed of rice. It had butter and garlic in it which I love! There were some vegetables too, I think onions and green pepper. Very filling. I had to save half for the next day. My boyfriend got the linguini with seafood, I think it was shrimp and scallops, he said it was delicious!

Nice little seafood eatery. Food was fine but not as good as I was expecting. Based on other reviews my expectations were high. Unfortunately they did not stand up to the hype. The grilled salmon was good but could have been seasoned more. The Oyster Rockefeller and the calamari fritti were good but too greasy. The coconut prawns were so sweet that we could not finish them. The stuffed mushrooms and the fried ice cream were tasty. Overall a good dining experience - just don’t expect to be blown away.

We sat outside as the inside was small and had an off-putting smell. Thankfully, they had plenty of heaters to keep things cozy. Portions were generous for the price, and every dish turned out to be very satisfying.
