Rubinette Produce Market is a gem tucked inside a larger market. They always have something unique on the shelves, especially Oregon-grown produce that you don’t find everywhere. It’s a great spot to explore if you love fresh, local ingredients.

Rubinette consistently has not only the most delicious and beautiful produce but a thoughtful selection. I have yet to be disappointed with what I’ve found! I always base holiday meals around what magical produce is in season and found at Rubinette. I also so appreciate the details and depth of knowledge the owners bring to their market. Lastly, I love that so much comes from local sources and the owners have close ties with surrounding farms.

Rubinette is the best place for produce in Portland. Not only is it great a place for hyper local and unique seasonally varieties, it’s a great place for fruit and veggie staples too.

This produce is absolutely unrivaled in Portland. Everything is so delicious and fresh and the owners are knowledgeable and helpful.

Update: Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. I had to go back through my statements as I remember it was the trip right before Providore started their holiday displays. The transaction was on 10/08/22. It was the pre-bagged mixed greens with the frisée added. I feel really bad for this review, but I feel as if it’s my responsibility to the consumer as a warning to always thoroughly wash your produce, even if it says it’s already washed. I have been a Providore costumer (formerly Pastaworks) for as far back as I can remember. A few years back, after they moved to their most recent location, I began purchasing the Rubinette prepared mixed greens at least twice a week because they were absolutely delicious. I was hooked, best salad mix I’ve ever tasted. However, the last bag I ever ate contained the dreaded norovirus. Let me tell you that I’ve never been so violently sick in my life. I won’t get into details, but it was 48 hours of hell that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. The next time I went into the store, I had expressed my concern to a man that was wearing a Rubinette logo. He was very nice and seemed very concerned. He refunded me the money for my last bag, gave me a free bag, and a gift card for more produce. He was kind and it was a kind gesture, but I have not eaten or purchased any more produce since that last bag that made me sick. Which really saddens me because they have such a great selection. The reason why I’m posting this is because these companies (e.g. farmers) have a responsibility to keep their customers safe from contaminated food. I can’t even imagine an elderly person or a child going through what I did. Side note: why did I wait so long to write a review? This was triggered after watching a documentary on FDA regulations which ultimately leaves it up to us as consumers to hold all produce companies responsible for food-borne illnesses. I still haven’t forgotten how sick I got and felt that it was the right thing to do to warn others. Giving three stars because if I had no fear of getting sick again, they would still be my main source of produce. 😞

Love this spot! I don't know where the chicory comes from, but it's turned into a staple in our house.

Rubinette is an amazing place to discover new produce — fruits and vegetables you've only read about on chefs' blogs, and things you've never seen before. Beautiful in-store displays include labels to tell you the produce origins. They really care about customers, too. I once emailed a question and got a personal phone call from the store manager. He went above and beyond in answering my question, but also in making sure I was happy with my purchase. If you've not been there before, look for the sign for Providore Fine Foods. Rubinette is inside, with other fabulous markets for local and important pantry goods, meat, seafood, cheese and pastry.

Great selection of local, organic produce. I love that they support local farmers… local food is more nutritious and better for the environment. You can find produce similar to what you’d find at a farmers market. Today, I picked up local chicory, kale, mustard greens, watercress, raab, and rapini. 💚

An amazing selection of premade sandwiches, pastas, sauces, and meat counter. Compared to other speciality grocery stores i think the produce is worth every penny and is a better price point than other grocery stores that fill a similar niche. Also this is the best place I have found to pick up a random bottle of Italian wine. Which I am always amazed is offered at such a good value. Only downside is their hours. But unless a grocery store is open pretty late, I will sometimes not make in time to that store.

Beautiful store and helpful customer support. I picked up items that I can't find elsewhere. Parking was easy, and I was in and out in about10 minutes. It's a great store to go to with a specific list--lots of NA spirits, too.

After hearing about Providore from @femalefoodie on her "That was Delicious" podcast, I had to go experience it for myself. I can see why Brooke loves this spot. It's the closest to a trip to Italy you can get without the cost of airfare. The space is setup like the best local grocery you've ever visited. There is a bakery case, a butcher case, fresh flower arrangements, fresh produce, wine (and a wine bar, I believe- I don't drink and had the family in tow so I went straight for the gelato). My daughter who was disappointed by Pinolo Gelato being closed that day was delighted to find they have pre packed pints and quarts of the Pinolo Gelato there. She chose the Giandula (a dreamy chocolate hazelnut) and we were all better because of it. I chose a variety of the tempting individually wrapped chocolates to sample and a sleeve of the Sparrow English muffins. I did especially enjoy perusing the refrigerated fresh pastas and sauces to be purchased a la carte. The line was short at checkout and the cashier was very helpful and friendly. If I were in the area I would stop in again for sure.

Foodie heaven. Excellent selection of everything, very gourmet and lots of imported products. We buy merguez, foccacio, sauces from Italy, olive oils, salami, fresh pasta, cookies from France and Italy, Spanish chips, and Venchi chocolates to name a few. And they have Lakrids, the only licorice that I like. Just had a Venchi cannoli chocolate. I would go back just for another.

Great store, great service, but the prices are outrageous indeed. Hence, 4 stars . I only buy items there that cannot be found anywhere else.

In regard to the frequently commented-on topic of price, Montelupo down the street is usually less expensive for the same grocery items. However, there's a much greater selection at Providore. And if price is your main concern then best stay clear of this culinary oasis. I've never heard myself say, "wow, what a deal." The Arrosto sauce is my new sweetheart. The Calabrian oil next to it on the shelf is another go-to. The "problem" is the shelf life is very short due to the absence of preservatives. This is expected with breads, sauces and other ready to eat items, but it's difficult to go through a condiment in such short time. So I wish they'd offer a smaller size. TURN OFF: a premium grocery store asking for tips at checkout. WTF? What action warranted the tip? Just tacky.

Prices rung up at the register are higher than the prices listed on the shelves. Difficult to contest this when the cashier couldn't care less and 25+ people are waiting in line. Since few products that Providore offers are marked with a sticker price, know the prices before checking out and watch the register. Like other customers who've left low Yelp ratings, this is has happened to me more than once. It's also incredibly crass that this fine-food grocery store has its registers request a tip as you pay your bill. Providore can't even update its price changes on the floor and it expects a tip for good service?

If I was a millionaire, I would exclusively shop here. It's expensive but a good spot to dream

Providore is like a cross between Trader Joe's, an upscale European food mart, and Disneyland. They have delicious food items in trendy packaging -- but more important than that, it's a fun family outing anytime you visit. Specialty items include: cheese, bread, pastries, jams, olive oil, pasta, seafood, sausages, sauces, chocolates, candies, chips, snacks, produce, flowers, canned goods, and more. Lots of local brands and small makers. Just recently they added a whole new room full of alcohol and cookbooks!

Okay, let's not lie to ourselves, this place is BOUGIE, cranked up all the way. God! I love it! The lament I would offer is that this kind of quality is not commonly available all over the place, we have to make a special trip if we want the varieties, expertise, and quality on offer at Providore. Check it out. Now the long version. I spent a year in internship on Long Island, where the bakeries are open early for those in search of warm rolls and every pork store (local idiom for butcher, mostly pork, loads of sausage, Italian in cuisine) has it's own specialty sausage, or preparation, or cut. So I was looking for fennel sausage in a pork casing (smaller diameter) called Luganega that comes in a coil and is often grilled or cooked as a coil. It is served with Broccoli Rabe (Rapini), also roasted, simply and with only salt and pepper, because I was feeling nostalgic. It doesn't fit into a bun, so almost no place on the west coast carries Luganega. We just don't have the historical appreciation for it and that kind of thing is a risk for butcher cases, so I get it. The Revel Meats case at Providore doesn't carry it. I adjusted. What they do carry is an excellent selection of fresh meats, a variety of sausages (five or six common ones and then the risky ones thrown in). I picked up the Mild Italian because I don't remember Luganega having a spice element. It would later be described by the-woman-who-lets-me-live-with-her (thanks Mike) as the single best sausage she had ever eaten. The grind was perfect, coarse enough to have some bite, fine enough to be consistent throughout. It was a "pound the table with your eyes closed in ecstasy" kind of sausage. No kidding. If Luganega is vanishingly rare, Rapini is a ghost. Try and sell people on the idea of an almost painfully bitter green with occasionally woody stalks that needs something done to it to make it palatable, and even then . . . But it marries with a robust fennel sausage and becomes something delivered unto the human race from above, floating down to us on the wings of angels. The meat case is equaled by the bakery case, but both are surpassed by the cheese case. The variety and expertise of the vendors (Providore is not as much a single entity as an umbrella organization hosting a handful of higher-end specialty vendors) can help you craft a truly special meal, even if it is simple sausage and greens. The greengrocer section carries the basics PLUS specialty items, like rapini. The wine shop / bar in the back is great for recommendations (I was asking for a wine to pair with a superb Hungarian Mushroom Soup and was handed, after a discussion of the flavors in play, an excellent, truly excellent Hungarian white). Loads of imported ingredients, high quality sections (Italian bread loaves, the crusty, skinny loaves, around 30" long with just water, salt, and yeast, OMG how is this so hard for other places?) and a helpful staff makes this my new favorite place to shop for special meals. Be prepared for the sticker shock, it is pricey, but breaking away from the factory model of food distribution is gonna cost something. Check it out.

Can't find a better selection of higher ends products. Don't expect to save money, but you will get your moneys worth with the best provisions the world has to offer. I would like for someone from management to reach out to me. Nothing that needs to be "blasted" in a public forum.

They have nice selection of ethnic, mostly Italian foods, but the prices are truly obscene. If you happen to be looking for a place where you can spend over $100 for a liter of olive oil, look no further, and then they have the audacity to suggest that you leave a tip as you are checking out.

This gourmet market is a gem in the Portland food crown! I found pasta shapes I've never seen before after 50+ years of looking. Separate vendors offer breads and baked items, flowers, wines, sauces, preserves, honeys, meats, books, giftie items, and the shelves groan with Italian (mostly), French, and other Mediterranean delights. Everyone on the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. And there is free parking! There is also a deli case with pre-made sandwiches, lasagne slices, salads and other ready to eat items. My only regret was I am not planning to check my suitcase and thus can't carry home anything liquid.

This is hands down my favorite place to shop on the planet earth. The food, ingredients, grocery items, just everything is curated to the finest degree. But what really gets my heart strings pumping are just the straight up fine folks who work here. In a world where anywhere you go, everything is just a little bit shittier than it used to be pre-pandemic, this group of amazing people at Providore step up to bat for us PDX'ers every fuckin day. They bring their A-games, their smiles, their knowledge and attentiveness. It's much more than a grocery store to me. I come here to celebrate wins and losses to boot! Just today, this awesome baker (I think his name was James, I'm really bad with names) took like 10 min out of his time to help me with my focaccia making. It was like a focaccia consultation. No grocery store is doing this for you. Not a one. Except Providore! I thank you from the deep bottom of my heart for all the joy you bring my family and I! Next time you're here, remember to say thank you to the people that work here, from the cashiers, to the deli, bakery, butcher and those beer and wine peoples that look like they are always having a gay old time. Because while this place is heaven, with the price points and extremely high caliber on every square inch of this space, I'm sure they deal with snooty ass bitches on the daily. I mean this place doesn't have 5 stars!!!?? How the efff could that be? It's the bitches! Screw them. All thanks and praise to Providore and its amazing staff! THANK YOU!!! I'd give 6 stars if they let me!!

This is first for me. I've updated my review based on the answer to my last review from the owner, on why they use POS tipping screens at a market. The explanation is that this was a feature asked for by costumers to reward great service at the deli, bakery and cheese counter. This answer sounds pretty rehearsed. These tip screens are EVERYWHERE, and I don't think they were asked for by the customers...customers seem to hate them from what I can tell. These machines are meant to shame customers into tipping. Put a tip jar on the the service counters...problem solved. One last thing...the checkers DO seem to get a bit less friendly when they see that you didn't tip on you butter.

A wonderful Italian grocery and deli recommended by a friend. I had the Parisian sandwich which I loved. The bakery breads and cookies are exceptional. I also found some of my favorite chocolate digestive cookies (biscuits from the UK) as well as a large selection of chocolates. I plan on returning there regularly

Addicted to this grocery store. Always finding the coolest and most high-quality ingredients. A good spot to just stop for an easy lunch and/or dinner- grab a sandwich from the counter and some handmade raviolis for dinner type vibe. Emphasizing QUALITY, everything- produce, meat, import foods.

Still enjoy getting special items here but recently they changed the packaging for their house made pasta. People wanted the packaging to be compostable but now it dries out quickly (within two days - half was dried out) and the lid is not secure. We had to be careful getting a package at the store that it wouldn't spill out. All packages were like that. I understand wanting less packing waste but not at the expense of the food quality. Maybe a plastic bag would be better that can be reused or something.

They have wonderful things, albeit expensive. However, I don't like being asked to tip the cashier in a grocery store. I avoid shopping there for that reason.

I came in looking for some new wine, and Gabe was super knowledgeable. He has great taste and introduced me to a couple that were absolutely delicious. Overall, my experience here was great! I was very enthusiastic about the wines and struck up a conversation that led up until closing time though. There was a very rude person with short brown hair who, after watching me walk to the front door to leave, snickered at me when I pressed on the handle and very rudely told me to exit through the side door with a very snide expression. A simple, kind, informative comment would have been much better. I think they need an attitude check. Lots of great products. Definitely worth a visit!

I am a major foodie, self-declared and recognized by others, and this place is a dream! It has all of the unique, ultra-specific items that I tend to look for from multiple types of cuisine and origins. Asian, Spanish, baking, Latin, Italian, etc. The prices are a little steep but these ingredients are more difficult to find and very high quality brands. They literally stock only the best. I've done hundreds of hours of research and can confirm the are the best and most well known specialty brands. The wine/beer selection is pretty large for such a small store with most appearing to be local. The produce is always so gorgeous and primarily seasonal. The cheese counter is eye opening and the meat counter will have you planning your next charcuterie board. Plus, there's prepared foods in a counter up front, in the freezer in the back as well as fresh pastas and sauces in a refrigerated shelf. Don't forget about the bakery counter (how could you?) and the seafood and shellfish counter. The staff here are also so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoy shopping here and leaving with a small, local bouquet for the cherry on top!

It's great that Providore has an incredibly fine selection of imported food goods from all over the world. What's not OK is when the shelf price tags continually reflect inaccurate prices, and you are charged significantly more at the register. This has happened to me three times in a row on three different occasions over several months. And when I point out the differential, always in favor of Providore, to the register clerks, I'm met with that same Portland, half asleep, droll sense of indifference. Obviously, Providore has been raising prices on its products across the board without updating its price tags. That's fraudulent. Wake up, do your job, do your job professionally, and lose the sense of entitlement. I'll never go back to Providore. I'll find an online purveyor for the exact same products before I go back there.

Found wine from two small areas in Europe; one had been looking for for awhile! The price for the bottles I bought were reasonable. Also picked up fresh mussels and dried pasta; needed orecchiette and they didn't have it fresh while I was there. The dry goods are spendy! I can buy the same crackers else where for less money. Sure I have to drive there but $3 less a package, kind of worth it. But for specific hard to find European foods and world spices, it's sorta the best of the few options we have. Also, not impressed with the cashiers! You're talking and still talk together, not with me the customer, while you ring me up, and then your register asks for a tip?? Um, No!

5 stars because I knew what I was getting- they are a bougie shop and not cheap. Unlike most expensive things in Portland though, you're paying for quality. I wouldn't do all my grocery shopping here but I come for specialty items. bought 1/4lb pancetta at new seasons for $11 and it was so gross I couldn't eat it- tasted like sour curing and old meat. It was cheaper to buy the house-made pancetta at Providore and it was soo good. I'll buy more to keep in the freezer for minestrone Staff is always nice and helpful even on a busy day where I'm sure they deal with some really stressful customers

This is a fantastic gourmet food market. When you are looking for hard to find, unusual items from Italy and Europe this is the place to go! It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it. Prvidore has a very impressive selection of delicious packaged and refrigerated food to choose from. The prepared food, meats and wine selection are also very good.

I travel a bit at least once a month to shop at Providore. The bakery, the cheese, the butcher counter, the produce! All fresh, mostly local and organic. And a wonderful selection of imported items to experiment with, tried and love Mutti tomatoes, Hayden flour, Rancho Gorda beans! Also those potato chips, you know the ones I'm talking about. The employees behind the overwhelming counters of goodies are great at recommendations too. One warning, though. The last two times I visited I was double charged for an item. I don't think on purpose, but probably because of the small check out area. Called and got no resolution. So get a receipt, and check it before you leave. Don't wait until you get home, like me. Won't stop us from shopping there, we're addicted.

Amazing selections of Sweets to savored from other countries. Great selection of local meat, seafood, cheeses, etc. Fresh baked bread and everything for a gastronomy experience.

What can I say... I like this grocery shopping location. I was looking for a hard-to-find Italian pasta. I called ahead to confirm they had the item. Went in the next day and made my purchase, plus picked up a few extra special items that weren't on my list. The people here are helpful and pleasant. Providore is a gem.

The essential high end grocery store in portland. The prices are stunning but the array of choices are exceptional. Goods from all over the world will pull you through the aisles. Great meat selection (revel meats sold here) and the cheese/deli selections are first rate.

What a beautiful & deliciously satisfying market! We eat with our eyes, nose and mouth and this market speaks to all of these senses. The produce is high quality and gorgeous; the meat counter is filled with the best cuts of imported and local meats and seafood; the freshly prepared foods are tantalizing; the cheese counter hard to resist; and the scent of the fresh bread and pastries makes it impossible to leave without a treat! Used to live in the neighborhood and was thrilled when this market opened as Portland is definitely lacking in this niche. I frequented often and now cross the river for fun excursions when I need to restock pantry items or want special items for a meal. This market rocks especially when it comes to hard to find Italian pantry items that I consider a staple! They have a fantastic assortment of the "normal" items, too, like roasted peppers, bruschetta, olives, anchovies plus fresh pasta from Pasta Works to make a gourmet meal at home. For dessert, I often make homemade cannoli, hard to find in Portland, but a necessity for this NJ Italian! They sell the Cannoli shells in a box of 6; just make your own ricotta filling and stuff the shells right before serving so the shell stays crisp. Delizioso! Before the Pandemic, the outdoor patio was perfect for enjoying a meal there. Try their sandwiches and salads! Or a coffee and pastry. For those who enjoy fresh oysters, Before the Pandemic, one could take a seat at the Oyster Bar. And take home seafood from Two X Sea. To round out the market, there are bouquets of fresh flowers to adorn your kitchen counter, exotic seasonings, high end chocolates, cards, kitchen utensils, and gourmet cookbooks featuring many local chefs and authors. Looking forward to a time when we can eat there again, but until then It's the perfect place to get whatever you need to cook fabulous meals at home. And isn't that exactly what a lot of us are doing? I know I am! The staff is always helpful, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. The market is super clean and well maintained. It's five stars all the way around!

I love having this store for specialty items but the deli counter needs work. Second time I've been to the store and requested a paper thin slice on my Mortadella, only to find thick slices after returning home. On this last visit, the deli was rolled. Never seen that. Friendly enough but it's more like an assembly line, unlike the cheese counter. I get the feeling they just don't want to spend the time. Shudder to think how they handle Parma.

Re-posting because the owner had this review removed from Yelp. Not only is this company known for abusing women but we can add homophobia to the list. My partner arrived outside and waited in line to get in. Providor (rightfully) only allows a certain number of people into the store at a time as a covid precaution. That means there's usually a line outside and that groups larger than two aren't allowed in together. Today though, my partner and I were in line, and when it came time for us to go in the employee outside stated only one of us could go in at a time. Okay sure, there weren't any other couples in line ahead of us so we figured maybe because of the snow they're splitting up all couples to get the line moving faster. Nope. While I was shopping I saw the employee manning the door allow two straight couples inside and break up another (presumably) lesbian couple at the door. I urge anyone considering shopping there to check out @86dlistpdx on Instagram for accounts of the workplace abuses women endure in addition to the homophobic policies they institute at the door. Re: the response from the owner, the reason for discrimination doesn't interest me. The fact of the matter is we saw two straight couples admitted one after another while we and another lesbian couple in line were separated. Also good job addressing the concerns voiced on Insta.

The store is lovely with all sort of gourmet items but the service is consistently abyssal. It seems they're a bit too full of themselves.

When you go to Providore the possibilities are endless, put together an antipasti platter for 2, and get som yummy port, sherry or wine to go with it! Delicious bread and sweets it you don't feel like baking! Meat and seafood, fresh and frozen and great pasta, sauces and produce. We call it our candy store because its all so tempting, and in fact they do have candy. Enjoy

Since relocating to the PNW, I have been impressed with the variety of grocery stores and specialty markets. A chance visit to Providore, and I found the best market in the area. Was needing a bite to eat and was in the area. Found Providore through Yelp and parked a block away on the street. Stepped inside and was overwhelmed with the high end fresh choices. European, hard to find items in the market, but also ready made items to try on premise. What did I nibble (or inhale) on premise? Freshly shucked raw oysters from Flying Fish Company Freshly baked Rosemary Garlic Focaccia Bread from Little T Baker Freshly toasted grilled pork sandwich Glasses of Rose (pints of craft brews available) Everything was so good, we decided to grab one of the carne lasagnas to cook later for dinner that evening from Pastaworks. This was delicious, as well. Its on the pricey side, but its high quality all around. I look forward to going back.

Beautiful market. I think it's a place that shouldn't be missed on a visit to Portland. The fish and produce were so beautiful and fresh. The prepared foods were so good. There's a nice seating area. Service was friendly.

Wonderful specialty market. Beautiful produce and great service. Lots of interesting products to choose from that makes for an enjoyable shop. It is not an inexpensive place however the quality provided in all realms is worth a little extra out of your pocket. Enjoy!

I love the selection there. It's fun to go there and browse and get yummy treats. The produce is fantastic, too. It's a little pricey for me, but, for special occasions it's totally worth it.

I go here just about every week and absolutely love it. The bread and viennoiserie is from Little T (as the giant sign above the baked goods indicates- how did I miss that?). The Pastaworks in house pasta is absolutely delicious and akin to restaurant quality. Really can't recommend this place enough!

I've checked out their website online and found that some items that were sold out were available in person, I think I'd rather come in and see everything that they have, which is part of the experience of shopping at a fine foods establishment. It's set up where everything is organized well and categorized based on shared characteristics, for example, pasta, meats, etc. Their bakery items such as their Pancetta & Calabrian chili paste focaccia are a savory bite to have for lunch. Just a little excess on the olive oil. Pretty flower arrangements greet you in front of the entrance. It's a specialty shop where you can find freshly made pasta by Pastaworks, I've gotten their rigatoni and their casarecce style pasta for new recipes that I've been wanting to try and the fresh pasta just adds that special little touch. They also have Caputo's 00 flour and an array of San Marzano tomatoes to make pizza from home.

Love coming here! Great selection, friendly staff, and their Revel meat quality is unmatched. It's not the typical cheap meat you would see at a Safeway. The price is fair and worth it!! Noah and Alex are always big helps! They have the best tips and tricks. And the bread is to die for.

I attended the Shuck Portland - Oysters 101 event last night and OMG it was the epitome of what the PDX food scene is all about. Locally harvested, sustainable healthy foods, prepared with innovation and presented by great people. We learned about 6 different types of oysters, how to shuck, them, then we ate them. Then we shucked some more and ate some more. Then we shucked some more and ate some more. Over three dozen oysters later I was entering the "oyster coma" and had to take a breather. But wait there's more!!! They oysters were paired with craft cocktails which were amazing. We got to try a rare Mexican oyster with a jalapeño mignonette. They served a BBQ oyster with a delicious lemon butter sauce. To finish it off, they served the best fried oysters I have ever had. But wait there's more!!! The proceeds went to support great causes. The people from Flying Fish, Taylor Seafoods and Providore Fine Foods were awesome. We got to use the best oysters knives designed by Taylor Seafoods and R Murphy for the Pacific NW oyster scene. We met really nice, like-minded, oyster lovers at our shucking table. This was the best dinner event I have ever been to. So much fun. You never get to eat 6 different oysters in one sitting and it provided a unique experience and the opportunity to compare the differences between the different species. Providore Fine Foods is a foodie destination. I'll be back for sure. Check it out.

My favorite place to buy hard to find items. Best San Marzano tomato, Maria Gramatico Tomato paste, 00 flour, Martin rolls, Dukes Mayo and the best cold cuts in Portland. You can't go wrong with anything there. Customer service is excellent, love the bakery and the flowers. I guess I love everything there!!

I've been coming here for over five years... This is possibly one of the best spots in Portland. The food, the staff, everything is just perfect. I'm here 4-5 times a week for the past five years and I've never not once had a complaint. I honestly hope that they open up more locations.

Quick summary: a high end speciality store - nice vibe (even if it is a little bit hoity-toity), a great selection of high quality, harder to find ingredients, definitely worth checking out. Pro-tip: the hand-made pasta is absolutely incredible. I live only a block away from the Providor so it was only a matter of time until I checked it out. I'm glad I did! Prices are expensive, so you likely shouldn't come here hoping to do all of your grocery shopping. That being said, if you need a hard to find oil, spice, cut of meat, or are just looking for inspiration, this spot is totally worth a visit. Along with a good selection of authentic, shelf-stable ingredients for a variety of food types, they have a bakery, butcher, fresh pasta, and seafood. They also have a deli full of fresh meals ready to take home (lasagna, sandwiches, etc). Picture a premium version of the Safeway deli counter. I haven't tried any of these items, but they look exceptional. To sum it up, it's not in my budget to come here frequently, but you can tell a ton of effort is put into keeping the shelves stocked with unique, fresh, high quality items. Totally worth checking out the next time you pass by.

I love Providore Fine Foods! You can always find something new to try and I really enjoy their Instagram posts highlighting new items, but most of all I love the wine department. Erin is an absolute gem and if you see her there please have her help you. She has recommended some truly fantastic wines for us and her knowledge of the region, flavors and grape(s) used is incredible. I fell in love with a bottle of wine she recommended and after picking them clean a few times she offered to bring in a few bottles for me. I guess for this particular wine the crop was devastated and more bottles would not be coming in for some time. She then took a few weeks and hunted down a similar bottle to bring in for me as well as adding a few other options. She went so above and beyond when honestly just having her curate a box for me is a special treat. This is the upmost in personalized service and I have found myself gravitating towards more orders because I love how intuitive she is with her choices. You can tell Erin loves what she does and takes it so seriously with a great amount of passion. I wish I had the knowledge in wine that she does, but since I don't I'm thankful she is there to ensure I never walk away with a bottle I won't at the very least enjoy. She is a true treasure and I hope everyone knows how lucky they are to have her there.

Being the long time customer that I have been, I regret writing this. I'd also include that I cater and I purchase all my cheese and charcuterie from providore as well...full retail price to boot. Purchased some vanilla beans a few months ago and they were hard as a rock. Since I didn't keep a receipt and I tried to return this beyond the 14 day return policy, a return wasn't possible. WTF? You've lost my business and I will shop elsewhere where the retailer will stand behind what they sell.
