From my earliest days as a teenager in Irvine during the 80's I have been a long time loyal customer of the Rubino's restaurants. I only just recently discovered that THIS is the one and only remaining location of the Rubino's pizza empire from the 80's-90's!! It's awesome and amazing to see such an incredible institution STILL thriving today!! To see the other reviews and read about the continuing appreciation by so many people to this day is a testament to the quality and service of Rubino's pizza. Myself, I have been, and will continue to be a huge fan and supporter of Rubino's and look forward to my next slice of heaven!! 🙏😇❤️❤️❤️ UPDATE: I went back and discovered how magical the pizza is after alllll these years!!! Same deliciously light and crunchy crust, with a pillowy doughy chewy end crust that is begging for dipping into ranch dressing. The toppings are fresh and delicious but the cheese is incredible!! So frickin good. Truly a testament to maintaining the best quality ingredients and baking practices!! This pizza is definitely my number one place and will continue to be my number one favorite pizza place!!

Pizza was decent. The crust was crispy and not soggy at all. We got a jalapeno, anchovy, and sausage pizza. Not spectacular flavor-wise. The owner is nice. Great to support a family business.

Local Mission Viejo Pizza place with great tasting pizza. Not too thin and not to thick, it had a perfect amount of cheese and healthy amount of marinara sauce which I like. First time here and really enjoyed the large hot pizza with Jalapeños.

Ohhhh my goodness!! I use to live in Irvine university park 1987, when we first found Rubinos and then Woodbridge there was Joe’s place!! I always tell my friends, they haven’t had pizza till they’ve had Rubinos pizza and I found them!! There seems to be a fancy pizza place on every corner these days. And, so many of them have very good pizza. But, when we vote on it, my family always goes back to Rubino's. We have been enjoying their pizza for many years. Our kids grew up on Rubino's. The pizzas are old-school, traditional - no Neapolitan pizzas here. But the crust has a great chew and a nice flavor. And, the sauce is amazing. In my opinion, the sauce is what makes the pizza sp good. I normally don't care for plain cheese pizzas, but at Rubinos, that is what I typically order...the sauce is that tasty. I have had their gluten-free pizza also, and that is very good. If you want to have a pizza that everyone will enjoy, from kids to grandparents, Rubino's is the place!

This was the worst. I thought I would try something other than Round Table Pizza . Never again .Pizza was burnt and looked like it was just reheated

2.5 stars Likes: + Polite, helpful staff. + Ample parking. Non-likes: - They say they do thin crust, but it turns to be as thick as typical pizza from any other parlor. I really wanted actual thin crust. - Kinda expensive. My large pizza with about 5 toppings came to $40. Other pizza places can provide me the same size and topping amount (or more) at almost two-thirds the price. Each additional topping is potentially $3! - They don't have red pepper packets. Instead they come in little plastic cups. Even with lids, if you aren't careful, it could spill everywhere. - Long wait. Took about 20min, even though there were only 2 customers at the moment. - The pizza didn't even taste that good. I wonder what this business does to positively stand out from the competition.

Not sure why this rates so low. This place is our favorite and has been for years. The food is always amazing, some of the best pizza we've had. The service is always kind and prompt, we've never had a bad experience there. Even when getting it delivered the pizza is warm and delicious and the drivers are friendly. Don't sleep on this place, it's a great pizza!

Always love Rubino's Pizza! Delivery is efficient, and my pizza arrives in a timely manner. I always get the all meat pizza with jalapeños, the best! Their salads and chicken wings are actually pretty good, in my opinion. I always get service with a smile. Customer service is always amazing! I've never had a problem with Rubino's. Whenever I visit their store, it's always clean and well maintained. I've also tried the Hawaiian Pizza, as well. No complaints from me! The crust is somewhat thick and crispy, the way I like it. If you haven't tried this small business, you should. And if you haven't had their pizza in a long while, maybe try it out again. Their prices aren't cheap. In fact, they are around the same as certain competitors. I think their food is definitely delicious! Highly recommend!

It was all right. I can't say they have the best Ranch of taste in years. But of course he would go to a piece of paste for Ranch lol the man has served me was friendly. But the soda was flat and I think they need to clean their drink machine. I would hate to see the inside of it. I would never ever ever drink anything from there. Everything needs a little boost, a little sprucing up and a little cleaning.

This is a cozy little place with comfortable seating that can accommodate a couple or a small group. the salad was a simple lettuce and tomato with a generous heap of grated mozzarella cheese, chilled perfectly. We ordered a medium pizza, half meat lovers/ half Rubinos special. It came out piping hot, trimming with toppipings,, the crust was chewy and crisp. Reasonable prices , friendly servers, and knowledgeable counter staff made this a delightful dinner stop on our trip.

Operating since 1976, Rubino's Pizza has been serving up quality pizzas. I especially like that they make their own tomato sauce and dough from scratch every day. Their delicious mozzarella cheese is made in Wisconsin. Rubino's Pizza was one of the first places we tried out after moving to Mission Viejo and is one of my top 3 choices whenever I have a craving for pizza. Why? The cheese. THE FOODS | Incredible pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, sides (buffalo hot wings, bread stix, garlic bread, etc.). They also offer cheesecake for dessert. We oinked out on... - Pizza with Cheese + 1 Topping (Pepperoni) - Medium $19.09 + tax | The pepperoni has a slight crisp on the edges. Tomato sauce is sweet, herby, and slightly thick in consistency. The crust has a crunchy exterior and a soft, doughy interior. I love that they don't skimp out on the mozzarella cheese! It's richly dense, gooey, and stringy. It's the best mozzarella I've had on a pizza. - Rubino's Special - Medium $25.39 + tax | Pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, green bell peppers, red onions, and bacon bits. The vegetables are thinly sliced so it doesn't overpower the cheese, which again, is gloriously oozy. This is my go pizza here! Try it out! Side note, their medium sized pizzas are comparable to a typical large sized pizza. So, keep that in mind when you're placing an order. THE RUBINO'S PIZZA FEELS | Early 90's Saved by the Bell vibes with black & white checkered floors and the use of primary colors splashed throughout the joint. The dining area is small; max occupancy is about 40 people. THE PARKING SITUATION | Plenty of free parking in front or nearby. THE ORDERING LOGISTICS | My foodie sidekick walked in and placed our order. The other option is calling in to place an order. They also offer delivery, but only accept cash or check. Maybe that's changed from at least 4 years ago, but I remember writing checks because I rarely carry cash. What are checks? It's a paper where you write things on it and people take it to a bank to exchange for cash. If you walk in, you can pay using a debit/credit card.

Rubino's is truly a hidden gem. I love their Adamized pizza crust. They have yummy pizzas and don't sleep on their Buffalo wings. They're so meaty and well seasoned. They have a great caesar and antipasto salad. They even make sandwiches. The eggplant Parmesan is so good! Support local businesses over your local corporate pizza shop!

Place definitely has that great pizza joint feel about it. Ordered 2 slices, one cheese and one pepperoni. Got the cheese slice first and holy moly so much cheese. Scalding hot bubbling cheese with a hint of canned red sauce with semi cooked dough. Got through about half of the slice, threw it out and told them forget about the other slice and left. Actually took me back to my elementary school days when it was pizza day and you'd ask yourself, "you call this pizza?"

Glad to find a fair priced lunch special (slice & soda for $4.30). I had to wait for a fresh slice which was tasty. Crust was thick. Tomato sauce was flavorful. Quick & easy for weekday lunch.

We just had Rubinos tonight for the first time and it was amazing! I can't believe we have lived in Ladera for 10 years and have never ordered pizza from here. Tonight we ordered a medium meat lovers, a small BBQ chicken pizza, and a spaghetti dinner that came with a side salad and a very yummy piece of cheesey garlic bread. The adimized crust was a nice touch! Can't wait to order food from here again.

Rubino's has a decent tasting menu, although the variety is limited. There is the pizza, yes, but it's not that great. What we go here for is their Italian dishes. When ordered with a dinner, they come with cheesy bread and salad - their Italian dressing is delicious. The service is a little slow on take out, but it's usually worth the wait.

Love their pizza and service. The place is average, a little dark for me. I usually order to go. They really need to upgrade their coupon system and have it online. Is annoying that they have coupons but you have to print them or else they don't count. I'll be happy to make an app or website for them! They are nice.

We LOVE Rubinos! It's been one of my favorites since I was little and now it's my kids' favorite. Everyone is so so nice there and it's just such a special place. Not only is everyone so nice and remembers your name but the pizza is sooo good! Definitely our favorite and we don't live overly close but anytime we get pizza it's worth the drive!

This pizza is delicious!!! I've seen this place around for years, but have just never tried it. Our medium pizza was huge and packed with flavor!! Also ordered the garlic bread and a drink... all for $30! Definitely cheaper and better than Pizza Hut! Lol. We'll definitely be back!

We haven't been here in a few years but we're craving pizza and decided to order. Pretty good pizza if you ask me. Easy parking and in the Pavilions center. Our pizza was ready on time and service was good. No complaints.

I'll tell ya right now, this is my top 5 pizza!! This little spot in mission Viejo deserves 6/5 stars!! The dough is crispy and something with the sauce just makes it so good! If you haven't tried, go give it a shot! Worth it

Went here tonight. I'll have to admit I had lowered expectations based on some of the previous reviews, but I had a bunch of kids I needed to feed and it was close to where we were at. From what I could tell, they've made strong efforts towards excellent pizzas and service. Everyone was so helpful. I ordered ahead and they were super accommodating. The pizzas were thicker doughy crust that was perfect for their great tasting pizza sauce. The sauce wasn't too strong, just very deep flavor. The amount of cheese was exactly perfect for the pizza. Not over cooked and not undercooked. Between the 5 4th graders and 3 adults, we finished 2 jumbo pizzas and 14 wings. The kids just came from the indoor trampoline park, so they came with an appetite. Everyone left pleasantly stuffed. We'll be back.

Our family used to go to Rubinos every Friday night when it was also in Irvine. With 3 boys and lots of sports, everyone looked forward to a favorite meal, including Mom who was not shy about picking up the pizza and eating a slice on the way home. Now we had to go to Mission Viejo, but its still a favorite choice, tastes just the same and worth the drive. Service was friendly and quality was great.

Favorite pizza in all of Orange County. Our trips to Italy have ruined pizza for us but the doughy crust and perfected sauce at Rubino's has made it our favorite at home pizza.

Came for sammiches after a day of 12U baseball. I got the tuna on squaw bread. The boy got an italian on a regular roll. Both were on point and delicious! Definitely be back the next time baseball brings us down there.

Well, this is the 4th time we've gotten pizza from here.. toppings are always plentiful and flavorful. Sauce is good - missing something .. the crust needs something - it's a little like cardboard or Pizza Hut .. I love supporting local businesses and when I'm paying $25 for a medium pizza - it should be a little better. Just a suggestion- Add some flavor to the crust. Thank you!

Just moved to Mission Viejo and since our kitchen is under construction we are learning the local restaurants very quickly. Our neighbors had warned us not to go here but I like to form my own opinion but I should have listened to them. No I did not order a pizza. Firstly, the fact that there was zero patrons on a Saturday night was not a good sign. The inside isn't very clean and smells like someone hasn't mopped in a while. The table and chairs were sticky. The food review is based on two sandwiches- one was a meatball sub and one was a salami and cheese. It's obvious that the meatballs are prepackaged. They were rubbery and tasteless. They also don't quite know how to put a meatball sub together because the sauce completely disintegrated the bun before I even begin to eat it. The salami and cheese sandwich was decent but you can't really screw that up.

This pizza is great and beyond!!! They deliver when they say they will and the pizza is worth the wait!! Toppings are top notch and the sauce to kill for, but wait there's more... the crust is outstanding and probably a proprietary secret but great!! Get it now while it's hot but still good the next day if you put it in the oven!!!!!

Rubinos has been our family's 'go-to' for pizza for years. They ingredients they use are better than most pizza places, which makes a big difference. Particularly, they use good mozzarella. The crust is excellent, which is essential, too, to a good pizza. The salads are simple, but very good. And the chicken parm is great.

Best in the business. This is what all pizza ought to be. And the salads! Heavenly! I would recommend this to anyone who likes pizza, and to anyone who doesn't! It'll change them to Rubino's pizza livers with the first bite!

5 minutes after eating at Rubino's , I went to Mission Hospital and requested my stomach be pumped. #Rubino'sSpecial To save yourself $45, go buy a DiGiorno, let it get freezer burnt for 2 years, cook it on 450 for 90 minutes, Drop it on the floor. Heat & serve. Deeply disappointed.

Wow! We ordered from here for the first time and the pizza was amazing! We got 2 large pizzas and barely had any leftovers. The gentleman who took our order over the phone was extremely kind and thorough, and he re-checked our pizzas before we left the shop. Tons of toppings on the pizzas and my kids loved it too. It wasn't cheap, $50+ for two large two topping pizzas, but it was worth it for the customer service and the food. We will definitely be going here more often!

One word. DELICIOUS. Just started working in the same complex so I'm stopping by here for lunch at least two to three times a week now. Their turkey and provolone sandwich on Squaw bread is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, ever. Their Pizza is really amazing. Their pizza dough is significantly better then Pizza Hut, Round Table or Domino's in my opinion. They have a nice selection of toppings (they are not stingy either!) and you can get your pizza "Adamized" for $1.25. What is it? They brush the crust with olive oil and cover it with oregano and garlic and it's just a nice little added delicious surprise to your pizza. They are a pasta, pizza, salad and sandwich shop. Other things I've tried have been the roast beef dip sandwich and the meatball and cheese sandwich and both were delicious. Also have ordered their Italian sub sandwich on a French roll and I gone back to that sandwich several times. For those of you wanting to drink spirits with lunch or dinner they do serve beer and wine here. Lastly, the employees are always friendly and helpful if you need questions answered regarding the menu.

I remember getting pizza here about a year ago. So last week I went in and got two pizzas. And the price was very very high, and as it turned out, the pizza was pretty mediocre. I'm sorry, but I have to say I won't be going back, it's a shame because they are really close to my house.

We always get take out from here coming back from snowboarding and it is DELICIOUS. The BBQ chicken pizza is really good with the adamized crust. The veggie is bomb also. Super worth it for the quality. I've never dined in but the staff seems really nice from the times we've picked up our order to go. Definitely recommend.

I'm so disappointed tonight. I've been craving Rubinos since the one on Santa Margarita Pkwy closed. This location won't deliver to my area so we picked it up and brought it home. We figured that since it's a chain, or franchise, that it would taste the same. The pizza and my salad were not anything like the Rubinos we enjoyed for years. If we could send the food back, we would have. And when placing the order, they wouldn't make the half and half toppings like we used to. Seriously, they're not so darn busy. A little customer service can go a long way. Although when the food isn't that great, I guess it wouldn't really matter.

I give this two stars only because I thought that the size of the large pizza was generous. A bit larger than many large pizzas. However, that was just about the only positive thing I found about this pizza. I ordered a thin crust pizza, which was thick, not thin. I phoned in the order which I was told would be ready in 20-25 minutes, and it took significantly longer before the pizza was ready. Worst of all, I thought that the pizza was "dreck" as they say in Yiddish. Tasteless, uninspiring, and devoid of flavor. With a name like Rubino's, I was looking forward to enjoying a pizza with authentic Italian taste. IMO, their pizza tasted about as Italian as Domino's, Pizza Hut, or Papa John's. There are much better places in the area to get pizza, and I don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

This is a great pizza place!! We have been here a few times while waiting for our vet and they have had great food and service every time! Very yummy garlic bread. I had the Rubino's Soecial and YUM!!! Definitely keeping this on the regulars list when we're in town. Come by. They are fun.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! They stated we placed an order TWO YEARS AGO, and never picked it up. They are adamant we pay for that 2018 pizza before we can place any future orders. First, we didn't ever place the order (wasn't even our usual size/toppings), and second, we didn't pick it up (since we didn't place the order). So I don't get how they could charge us for something we didn't order nor receive. I get it if it was a large order, but for a supposed measly medium pizza, and preventing us from getting two large pizzas (and all future orders since we're locals). That's ridiculous. Will never be ordering from here again, and will absolutely be telling everyone we know to avoid coming here. Do yourself the favor and avoid coming here, there are far better (and properly managed) local pizza places to go.

Rubino'sssss!!! :D my bf took me here to try their pizza that he said was really good and YES YESSSS! It was really good pizza! It wasn't busy when we got their so we didn't have to wait long for our food to come out we got an all meat pizza and on my side we got some onions. We also got some garlic bread that was super good! The reason why I enjoyed the pizza was bc it was not flat at all, it was doughy and cheesy ahhh super good! Those are two things I always look for in pizza. The crust was not hard either, I've tried pizza places where their crust is way too burnt and hard, but not Rubino's ohhh no they handled their way of making the pizza exceptional! Definitely looking forward to trying other ingredients on their pizza's. In addition to the pizza and garlic bread the place is very clean, bathrooms and restaurant. Came in from out of town to visit family and wanted a good pizza.decided to give this place a try and ordered a large pepperoni pizza(was playing it safe)...pizza was AWESOME!!!...next visit will definitely order more items from menu.Rubino's has a new customer..good job Rubino's

I have been coming here since I was a kid! And now my husband and I order from here all of the time. The food is always delicious and the service is great-- Nicest people work there. We have some snobby foodie friends ( no joke) and they LOVE the pizza and wings; they're seriously tough critics so the fact that they really liked it and now request we order from there when they come over really says something! Great quality food and we like supporting small businesses!
