Google
Yeah, you can see this as the typical brunch spot—but with great lighting, amazing service, and incredible food! I loved everything about this place, which delayed our road trip to our next destination over the 4th of July weekend. I was excited to try the fried green tomatoes, which were flavorful and had the perfect amount of bacon on top—just tender. Ugh! I also ordered the avocado toast because I was excited about the pickled onions and capers, but it was honestly my least favorite dish and I carried it to the next hotel with me but ultimately didn’t eat it. It wasn’t bad; it just didn’t have as much flavor as I expected. Instead, I leaned into the shrimp omelette, which was packed with flavor from the fresh, succulent shrimp. Loved it! And I had an order of bananas foster French toast and literally licked the plate (I’m kidding). But it was that good. We talked about the French toast for days. I also liked the biscuit with their house made butter. I don’t see myself visiting Mobile again in the near future, but if I ever pass through, this would be a “MUST-STOP-HERE.”

Google
We were visiting this area for the Mushroom Festival and wanted to enjoy a good home cooked breakfast... We Came Upon the Ruby Slipper and hands down, found what we were looking for 🍳🥓☕️ My favorite breakfast item is eggs benedict and I can honestly say the Ruby Slipper has the best tasting benedict thus far!!! We also opted for the pumpkin beignets and ... oh my goodness as if there was a firework explosion in my mouth... we bit into heaven!!!! If I had a shrink gun and could shrink the Ruby Slipper and bring it to my hometown I would do so!!! You will be doing yourself a service by stopping here and enjoying one of their delicious meals!!!

Google
Jessica C is a wonderful staff member! She made us feel welcomed and checked on us without being a bother. I was pretty proud of my French toast before we came into Ruby's. Mine doesn't even come close to the plate of deliciousness I enjoyed. DEFINITELY coming back the next time we drive through town!

John B.

Google
We got the trifecta and it was delicious. Just really well intentioned seasoning and sauce, expertly poached eggs, and a handmade fluffy buttermilk biscuit. Felt like home but with a new twist. Beignets were like pillows. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was bright, cheery, and welcoming. We’re from out of town and while there are clearly a lot of great breakfast/brunch places in Mobile, we picked this place because reviews were good but also because a certain other reviewer said the food was great but gave only two stars because the server was wearing a pride shirt. We visited this place because I believe that hospitality finds its way into the food, and if they’re welcoming to everyone, it’ll show in the quality of the food. That turned out to be true.

Google
Food is always sooo good. Food was amazing. Waitress saved us money by ordering something else for our daughter instead of a la carte like we were going to.

Glenn J.

Google
Great breakfast spot and no issue with food. My reason for giving a “2 rating” is because our server wore a gay pride rainbow t-shirt. I don’t think that is appropriate for a server. Probably won’t go back.

Aubrey R.

Google
Absolutely delicious brunch restaurant. The food was incredible. Linda was the sweetest and very helpful waitress. She made our brunch even better with her hospitality and amazing attitude. We would definitely come back. This is a must try restaurant.

Erin J.

Google
1st time eating here and it was a pleasant experience. We didn't have to wait long to be seated and our server was great at recommendations for our meal. I opted for the shrimp n grits add cheese which was delicious. Great vibe for a fun brunch.

Yelp
The ruby slipper was so excellent. We went twice on our three day trip to Mobile. They were able to accommodate our large 17 person group split between two tables. They have an online waitlist that I would recommend joining before you plan on walking over as they don't take reservations. The weight staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, didn't rush us, but we're very attentive, and we never felt forgotten. The pumpkin beignets, French toast, omelettes, eggs pork and chicken Benedicts, and shrimp and grits were all incredible! I think the food is very reasonably priced. We also had the party pour of the Bellinis and those were very fresh as well! Must stop in for a great meal and service! Amazing southern hospitality , our server called me "honey" and she was so sweet.

Yelp
The breakfast was delicious. The pancakes were the star of my plate. I enjoyed the sausage patties and eggs. I ate everything on my plate. This is my first visit to this location. Parking was a hassle, but I would definitely dine here again. The ambience was colorful and clean. I recommend this restaurant. Service was great!

Yelp
We stopped in for brunch and we were not impressed by the food nor the service. The biscuits were hard and tasted a few days old. We won't be back.
google avatar

Whitney D.

Yelp
Service and food both were great! Tip: skip the omelet they're just meh/ok.. go for the speciality things like the Migas & Benedicts!
google avatar

Robynn R.

Yelp
Parking is on the street. We started here on the Boo Brunch tour. They have interior seating but we ate in the courtyard at an umbrella table. We tried the fried green tomatoes and honey butter biscuits. Absolutely delicious! The service was impeccable. They had hands down the best regular coffee!
google avatar

Ngoclinh R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food was delicious, and great service. The portions weren't skimpy and we left full and happy.

Kathy E.

Yelp
The food was excellent, I had eggs Benedict that were both different and I couldn't stop eating! The service was fast and the coffee was delicious. It's in an old bank building downtown Mobile and it was really beautiful inside!

Yelp
I arrived at 9:00 am and was seated promptly. The waitress was very polite and suggested specialty items. I ordered quite a few things since this was my first time visiting. The restaurant is clean and festive. The menu items were a good mix. The drinks and food were both good. The pancakes were my favorite. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was GOOD!

Yelp
Sweet Home Mobile Alabama Whenever you can order one my favorite desserts disguised as a breakfast entree, then I'm all in. The Banana Foster French Toast was straight from The Big Easy. Combine that with the 3 Little Pigs omelette and that made for a satisfying meal for the 2 of us. These 2 plates had enough protein to share while providing us a great sugar rush to get us down the road back home to Texas. The inside of the restaurant has that Dorthy from Kansas theme, ample tables for such a small restaurant and overall I consider this a hidden gem within the downtown area for good measure. The menu has a good assortment of interesting pancake options to select from and many creative egg plates. We used the call ahead feature although it was not terribly busy at 10am when we arrived. However, within the hour, a line of folks come in and the wait was on.

Yelp
Nice joint. Trendy. Eclectic decor. And, excellent food. We came here recently as we were in town for Wifey's graduation from USA. Go Jags! Wait was not bad for a Saturday around 1130ish. Maybe 20 minutes? Anyway, I would wait twice as long for this place. We had a party of six. Got the chicken sandwich (good), three little pigs omelet (good), sweet heat chicken and french toast bites (real good), southern breakfast (real good). I also got the grits with pepper jack cheese (unreal). Good variety on menu from sandwiches to bennies. Also, nice alcohol selection, though we didn't partake. Service was on point. Prices real reasonable. Cool, funky spot. Street parking. There was also a parking structure, but not sure if it was kosher to park there. We wish there was a Ruby Slipper closer to us than 2000 miles away.

Yelp
I always visit Ruby Slipper in NOLA. This place is just as great, and the shrimp and grits are among the best I have ever had. Can't wait to return next time I am in Mobile. Thanks Ruby Slipper!

Dana H.

Yelp
Excellent service from the red-headed Santa guy! Very helpful and very nice. Thank you for starting our day iff. Hope you enjoy your vacay in Dallas.

Yelp
It was a busy morning at the Ruby Slipper. I've been to multiple locations of this restaurant, and I've enjoyed each! This one was very busy, we were still seated pretty quickly. This location has very tight spacing, so it's tough to move throughout without bumping into others. Other than that, the food was good, although the potatoes could have been crispier, and the candied bacon wasn't quite what I was hoping for. My veggie omlet and biscuit were fantastic!
google avatar

Trish C.

Yelp
Jones the waitlist on Yelp and were seated promptly. We tried the homemade biscuit with cane syrup butter ($3), stone-ground grits ($3.5), and sweet heat chicken & French toast bites which is crispy fried chicken and fresh strawberries tossed in hot honey glaze over French toast noted ($16). Our server, Linda S, was so attentive and kept checking on us. She was quick, friendly and took time to answer our questions. Overall a wonderful first-time experience and we will be back on another visit.

Yelp
I was sat immediately, and the setting was eclectic. Service was very kind and the menu was adjustable for my diet. The food was seasoned, appetizing and tasted good. I ordered a Buddha Bowl (without the pork and egg) with smoky black beans, corn and pepper relish, arugula, pickled English cucumber, and half of an avocado with an avocado crème fraisch (sp). I ordered an additional side of avocado and a Sparkling Sunrise mocktail.

Lance M.

Yelp
The food was good and the staff was friendly. Very nice little breakfast stop when in Mobile.

Robert R.

Yelp
Great place for brunch. Try their eggs Benedict sampler. Register online for the waitlist.
google avatar

Tad D.

Yelp
A very solid and enjoyable brunch. All the Benedicts are terrific. Very clean and prompt service. Only downside is it's massively crowded on weekends, no reservations, and the "call ahead" system sucks. If you don't time your arrival perfectly they put you at the end of the line. I have zero interest in waiting another 90 minutes with a toddler.

Yelp
The food was delicious and just what we were expecting. The service was high class. It was busy but we didn't feel rushed or like our waitress had other things on her mind. Highly recommend

Yelp
We and friends took a 'dry-run' from Navarre to Amtrak Mobile. 1st time eating here and it was a fantastic experience! We didn't have to wait long to be seated and our server, Sabrina, was great! Nice, cozy and clean Cafe with nice touches! Totally enjoyed our meals and friendly staff! We'll pass it on and be back soon! Thanks so much !

Yelp
Service was fantastic, coffee was delicious and brunch was so yummy. We ate left overs for breakfast the next day too, generous portions. Thank you!

Jonathan W.

Yelp
The beignets were off the hook. The banana pudding is probably one of the best I've had.

Yelp
Service was great Food was ok Ambiance was fair...it was a busy Saturday but I wasn't thrilled about the food

Yelp
Loved the location & interior! The service was great & the food was delightful! Loved my berry chantilly pancakes - just the right amount of sweet! The potatoes were also fabulous! This is the kind of brunch place where you want everything on the menu! Highly recommend!

Yelp
After finally making it to Mobile we were looking for a good brunch to grab some food at, long behold we fold Ruby Slipper. This location in downtown Mobile and it's a gem. Very New Orleans type of style to the place, from their food menu to the drinks. Very impressed with the menu, had a plethora of options. My wife and I got the same meal, it was a special Nashville Hot Chicken egg Benedict. While I do not like egg Benedict's I opted to swap out that style for scrambled which they were willing to do, kudos to our server she was great and helpful. The dish itself was amazing, chicken was crispy on a fresh biscuit topped with arugula and their Nashville sauce, blended perfectly with the eggs, drooling thinking about this meal. Definitely a must stop place if you're ever in downtown Mobile.
google avatar

Jeremie H.

Yelp
It's a chain but the steaks are always good. I love the firecracker chicken wraps also. Service was good and fast.
google avatar

Aileen E.

Yelp
Food was delicious and different options! Plus the waitress was very friendly! Try the biscuits!
google avatar

Susie G.

Yelp
The breakfast is everything you would hope for and the ambience is just perfect. We had delicious food and the friendliest server. If you're in Mobile you have to check this place out.
google avatar

Gabbriella M.

Yelp
The food was really good I had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon which was 10/10. I would recommend coming just make sure you add yourself to the waitlist because they very busy on the weekends I went today which is Sunday. I also recommend the peaches and cream beignets but they're seasonal. They were fresh and hot tasted like they came right out the fryer and the beignets reminds me of an elevated peach cobbler.

Julia R.

Yelp
One of my FAVORITE places to eat brunch. The people here are the best and the food is incredible. 100000/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Marshall D.

Yelp
We loved the food and service. The atmosphere was amazing. Everyone is so friendly. They always have our table ready once we arrive

Yelp
First time at The Ruby Slipper. Overall experience was good. Came in early so there was available seating for one. Ordered the french toast bites, mimosa flight and the trifecta. Here's my take on each: - french toast bites: TO DIE FOR! They're amazing, crunchy, great taste, not overpowering - mimosa flight: too sweet for my liking, but a great way to start your brunch - trifecta (more like a eggs benedict flight): presentation, taste, but two of my eggs were hard boiled eggs hence the 4/5. Other than that, amazing spot to go if you're in Downtown Mobile. Service was great, the hostess and my waiter were super sweet and amazing.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, you get immediately seated. Service was spectacular, the servers make sure you're taken care of. Ambiance in the restaurant was amazing. Food was a little warm coming out, but gets 3 stars due to the flavor of the chicken, no seasoning. The mix with the sweet heat and French toast, is a surprising combination. Mimosas aren't strong enough. There's more juice than champagne. Biscuits were too dry, and grits had no flavor. Omelette was amazing, this place is a hit or miss, depending on the cook. Thank you for reading.

Yelp
Very nice place. Located in the old Bank of Mobile building, this joint is very popular, although it originated from Mobile West, you may know it as New Orleans it has an Old Mobile feel to the place. I really love the breakfast menu. Eggs Benedicts abound. They are just what you'd expect to find offered on a Jazz Brunch Menu along the Gulf Coast. Everything I had was fantastic. There's so much here it's hard to know where one should begin. The coffee is really good, I believe I had a full pot. I'm sorry I didn't grab a bag before I left town. Maybe on future visits, I'll update my review with more details.

Yelp
It was spectacular!!! Service was amazing food impeccable. Drinks were also outstanding 10/10 experience.

Tracy H.

Yelp
Always a 10/10 Always seated quickly. Service is always friendly. Food is always top notch. I've had everything from sammies to bennies to bloody mary's. It can get a little loud at times, but to me, that's a good thing...everyone is enjoying. The slipper is always my 1st choice for dining downtown.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is not that great. It has a very peculiar after taste. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is friendly.

Yelp
I'm from California and this was my first meal in Mobile!! I was in town visiting a friend and she said Ruby Slipper Café is a must have. The customer service was amazing and they really set off the southern charm for me. They were so kind and so sweet. I got myself loaded tots, fried chicken and toast bites, and a flight of mimosas! I'm not going to lie but I was not the biggest fan of the mimosa flight flavors. Watermelon wasn't that bad though. I think I'd stick with a classic orange next time! The loaded tots were amazing!! I shared them with my friend but next time I think I want a whole one for myself! Omg. I loved the fried chicken and toast bites. I am so used to chicken and waffles so the toast bites were an interesting delicious twist! I did like the sweet honey flavored fried chicken but at the same time I think it was a bit too sweet for me. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This was my first time trying this restaurant, and it was a great experience! We were greeted and seated immediately, of course we did beat the morning rush. We had a great service from start to finish. Food and drink were excellent! The biscuits were amazing!! If you get a chance to try this restaurant, please do so.

Gayle R.

Yelp
Food quality was very good but the service was very slow even on a day when it wasn't crowded

Yelp
Open on Easter Great service in a cute atmosphere of an old fashioned bank. Iced New Orleans style coffee accompanied by delicious bananas foster French toast is a sweet Easter treat. The toast was light and maddened with ripe bananas a buttery sweet syrup and a few raisins. So tasty. The pancakes are light and have a cinnamon butter Lots of eggs and other items on menu too. A fully stocked bar of morning drinks A great place for breakfast with fantastic fast service and friendly l

Theo V.

Yelp
Very accommodating for our dog on the patio and there were not enough staff. Food was excellent. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The overall feel of the place as displayed by the employees is very laid back, relaxed and not an extreme sense of urgency. We are part of a small conference group and arrived shortly after noon for lunch. There were 5 people in our party. The space is well decorated and gets good sunlight, has fun drink options, and good foot traffic so although it wasn't packed, they have a consistent stream of business. Terrance was our server who assumed we were waiting on another person for our group so he didn't greet the table for 10-15 minutes after we sat down. After he finally came over, he asked if we were waiting on another and we said no, so then he apologized and took our orders. Then we waited. Our server didn't check back in with us at all to let us know the status of our orders, but around 12:50p, I did ask if he had a status update. He said no, that he looked at the screen and saw that it had already been 20 minutes so he was hoping it came out soon, and also apologized because there were only two cooks on site at the moment. Right after that, our food was delivered by one of the managers who asked which conference we were with. He said they (the restaurant) are usually notified when there's a conference in town so they can be prepared. I had the cobb salad, which was just OK, but not good enough to stand out or make me want to order it again. 20% gratuity is automatically applied to your check, but that is not posted anywhere on the website nor on the menu. Some places implement the tip on parties of 4 or 5 or more, but they let you know. Here, the tip is automatically added, and the handheld gives you more tip options, but they don't tell you the tip is already added, so it's an unspoken way to get more tips from your tables. To me, wasn't worth it. Wasn't worth the wait and the food didn't make up for the wait, plus the untold added gratuity, I wouldn't return or suggest this place to others, but I also wouldnt stop them from trying it out. Others in my group enjoyed their meals and drinks but I'm only reviewing based on my experience.

Yelp
Quick breakfast before conducting training in my Mobile Office. I sat at the bar. I only had about 25 minutes to order eat and walk to the office. Mission accomplished! I ordered the Chicken St. Charles Benny with a coffee. Filling and tasty breakfast and was served within 5 minutes of me ordering. I enjoyed the vibrant feeling of the restaurant and decor. Good place for a hearty breakfast.
google avatar

Mayra R.

Yelp
There's always a long wait time. The coffee is 2/5 and the food is 4/5. The vibe is nice and fun.
google avatar

Tara L.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast while at a dance convention. The breakfast cocktails were delicious. The food was delicious! It was a cute place. Service was ok, I think our waitress was overwhelmed at how busy it was. Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Our favorite brunch spot in Mobile and we come from Daphne- about 10 minutes away. Food is always delicious, the lattes good and the service friendly. Recommend sitting on the shaded patio.

Linda S.

Yelp
The food wasn't very good, the beignets were not light. The little bit powdered sugar didn't s stick. Service was great and the atmosphere was warm and engaging. I wasn't expecting Café Du Monde but at least as good as PJs Coffee makes.

Yelp
Sabrina is our favorite server! She is just amazing and has waited on us numerous times including our first visit. The food is great and so satisfying.
