Here’s What a Pedestrianized State Street Looks Like On a Sunday | Eater Chicago

"An outdoor, weekly street-closure festival on State Street between Lake and Madison that aims to revive downtown by offering games, live performances, artists, vendors, family-friendly activities and a wide variety of food options. Organizers originally sought to spotlight Loop restaurants but staffing shortages led them to recruit vendors citywide and waive participation fees; the event has drawn massive crowds (about 100,000 people during an eight-hour day, roughly 92% of typical 2019 Sunday traffic) from 150 unique ZIP codes and 12 states. Run over eight weeks at a total cost of $400,000 (with $100,000 from the city and the remainder from sponsors and special service area funds), the program is intended to support economic recovery, shift perceptions about downtown safety, and foster community healing, while organizers hope outdoor settings will help mitigate COVID-19 risks amid the delta-variant surge. Its success has inspired similar initiatives elsewhere in the city, and additional dates include August 22, August 29, September 5, and September 12." - Ashok Selvam

I’m a truck driver and stopped in to this restaurant. The waitress wasn’t the best but she was okay. The food was horrible. I ordered bourbon salmon, corn and loaded potatoes. The salmon was undercooked, corn extremely old and hard and the loaded mash was just nasty. I told the waitress if I could change the corn for broccoli 🥦. She brought a side of broccoli that was old, smelled bad and tasted really bad. I’ve never tasted broccoli like that. It was like it was freezer burnt and old. I ordered from the salad bar and all the items weren’t present. There’s a leak coming in from the roof that almost dropped in my plate as I was preparing my salad. It dripped on my head which prompted me to move my plate. I went into the bathroom and it’s filthy. Trash everywhere all over the floor and the trash cans were running over. To be fair after the waitress saw I barely touched the broccoli she asked if I wanted a baked potato but I declined. I didn’t want anymore of the food here. I will not be returning nor will I recommend.

The scallops weren't horrible, but the zucchini and rice tasted like I was eating dry mess. That said, it's not worth the money they charge for this. The service and company at the bar were better than the meal.

Shout out to the General Manager Leticia of Ruby Tuesday 7400: Northside Dr. We were having a community event, and Ms. Leticia allowed Circle of Love Charleston to serve the unhoused/underserved in the parking lot from 9am until 10:30 am. Ms LaVern the kitchen manage also made sure we didn't need anything. Thank you for your support😊Circle of Love Charleston, along with great volunteers served 117 hot home cooked breakfast meals

My mom and I were traveling from West Virginia and stopped to eat. Wonderful experience! Great food and Rokim was a wonderful waiter/hostess. We also received the biggest piece of cheesecake I have ever seen a restaurant serve. Exceptional experience!

We ordered 2 combo entrees rare ribeye with scallops and baked potatoes. The scallops and baked potatoes were really good but the ribeye was well done, it was like trying to chew rubber. Went back to get the steak replaced and they gave us both a sirloin steak instead of a ribeye. We will never return to the Ruby Tuesday in North Charleston. I do want to say that the service people were very nice, but the cook doesn't know how to cook a steak.

T was our waitress yesterday and was the best waitress we have had in years! She was super friendly, very attentive, and made it an enjoyable experience. The food came out quickly and looked and tasted delicious! Also... the sweet tea rocked! After a horrible experience at a different Ruby Tuesday's several years back, I was hesitant to go but we were hungry and it was close. I'm so glad that I took the chance because this is definitely renewed my love for the restaurant! Also the salad bar was Super Fresh and the restaurant felt inviting

It's hardly believable that their food could be this bad, but they managed to take it to a new level of horrible. I will admit it's been a few years since we ate there, but we used to eat there all the time and always found it to be a nice place to go with great food! We booked a room at the Quality Inn not 10 feet from the place so decided to get something to go. I got the shrimp scampi over pasta and my wife got a $30 version of scallops. Both meals were literally uneditable! I mean how in the heck can scallops be bad? Wouldn't think that's possible! It is, just talk to their cook to find out how he managed to do it. Dry, tasteless, and chewed like a piece of rubber that had to be pulled out of your mouth and thrown in the trash because like bubblegum no matter how many times you chewed it it wouldn't break up! The shrimp scampi came with NO noticeable broth as the menu stated and the pasta was totally dry and tasteless as well. And the shrimp? See above review for the scallops. This place is not starting to go downhill, it's went downhill and then buried itself in a deep hole! They couldn't even get the dessert right because it was supposed to come with strawberries and ice cream but all that came was ice cream!

Placed a pick up order for 7pm (chicken and broccoli pasta, garden bar) and didn’t receive my pasta until around 7:45pm. I’m not sure why it took so long, but it was disappointing. The server who brought it to me was definitely apologetic, so I don’t fault her. The garden bar was super fresh as always, so I can’t say anything bad about that. The pasta, however, was extremely flavorless. I’ve had this dish plenty of times at other locations, but the sauce tasted pretty much like water, so I only had about two bites of the whole thing.
