Ruby's Diner

We loved our dinner experience at Ruby's! When you walk in, it's like you're stepping back in time. Our server was extremely nice and helpful. The Oreo Milkshake and cheeseburger were absolutely delicious! We will definitely eat at Ruby's again in the future.

We were greeted by Stephen who has a warm and friendly smile. We ordered the Street Dog (10/10 for taste), Super Burger and chips with GF bun (9/10 for taste) and Kids Mac n Cheese. We also ordered the Caramel shake (10/10 for taste) and 50/50 orange shake (7/10 for taste).

Mac n Cheese is a must, it's real Cheese, try it and let me know whats different about it, hope you can see the difference, well its the noodles, love it. French toast is a huge serving, The burger was good. Tater tots were cooked crunchy on the outside, which was good. I was a bit saddened with the onion rings, I thought they would have been house made. The soda didn't taste like soda, it was too carbonated. Over all I had a great experience. I will be coming back to try more items from the menu. I sat at the counter and saw several dishes that I'd like to try.

Nice atmosphere, good and friendly service, good food (especially the shakes). 50s music playing in the background. The serving was really big. I can recommend visiting Ruby's Diner 🙌

This was a cute little dinner just a couple blocks away from the rental house we stayed in. We visited Ruby’s for dinner. The service was good, my toddler got the cutest little cardboard car to play with and decorate. The food was about average but on the greasy side so that was a turn off for me. My husband got a milkshake that was pretty good. Overall, I doubt we could return here again, but I’m not mad that we went there once.

You can't go wrong with their shakes! Decent burgers. I was disappointed in the tater tots. Service was great. Clean restaurant. Fair prices. Casual family dining.

I loved coming here before disneyland. Its sad to know that they'll be closing 😔 this Sunday. Makes me sad, this has been one of my favorite place to come and eat and grab a milkshake and burger. The service was great and the food even better. Brought me good memories. Made me feel like I was in a rock N roll movie. Im really going to miss this place. Always in my heart I love it. Love the food. Delicious and it'll be missed. The people working here have always been the sweetest! ... forever in my heart.

A Nostalgic All-American Diner with Great Vegan Options! There's something so special about an all-American diner, and Ruby's captures that nostalgic charm perfectly! Even though this location is close to home, I hadn't been here before--but I'm so glad I finally did. It was such a fun experience! As a vegan, I was happy to see that they had great options for me. I ordered the Beyond Meat burger, and the best part? I could swap that patty into any of their burgers, which gave me plenty of choices. Meanwhile, my best friend enjoyed a classic American-style breakfast, and he loved every bite. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really stood out was the service. The servers were so friendly and attentive, and the manager working that day went above and beyond--super helpful, kind, and truly made us feel at home. You can never go wrong with a classic diner experience, and Ruby's does it right! Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast or a delicious burger (vegan or not!), this spot has something for everyone. Can't wait to come back!

the food i would give a 3.5. maybe a 3. im being generous i think my experience wasn't bad or anything but this is a chain operation that used to be a much bigger operation in california statewide.... many of them closed so it's def a nostalgic relic of the past.. you pretty much just eat here for the diner vibes! i got the classic burger and it was pretty mid. the patty did not taste fresh and it was well-done. nobody asked if i wanted medium but i also don't think it would have tasted much better even if it hadn't been overcooked. the ambiance and the decor are cute! it's like eating at a place inside disneyland. the fries were good - but nothing special! i wish it wasn't salted so much! srsly. too much salt! my husband got the breakfast deal that's available from m-f and that was a really good deal at 8.99 - comes with cinnamon french toast, a little eggs (it looked to be 1.5 eggs lol), slice of bacon. forgot to take pics of food but it's whatever haha

One of the best diner experiences I've had in a while. Went here for a quick lunch with some friends (group of 3) and we sat down within 5 minutes of arriving! Within the next 10-15 mins we received our food and were able to just enjoy conversation without rushing to get back anywhere. It was a great time! The bathrooms are very clean and the service was fantastic! Roman did his thing and delivered a great first time experience!

Ruby's used to be a good, clean, well maintained restaurant, not so much anymore. We used to be so impressed at how clean and well maintained it was but now, look around...it's going downhill fast! Something has changed with the food quality as well. We ordered 2 salads to go; a Cobb w sub vinaigrette dressing on the side and a Caesar. The Cobb came doused in ranch (NO side of vinaigrette) and could not be eaten and the Caesar tasted awful; also inedible & overdressed with the worst tasting Caesar dressing ever! I was told by the manager that they had changed the Caesar dressing. We also ordered onion rings to go which were dripping with oil and have zero flavor. The manager comped the food for our next visit. We came in Sunday and one of us ordered the Apple Pecan Bleu Cheese salad that came overdressed (see photo). Nothing wrong with it but they simply way overdress the salads to the point of being soggy at the table. When I went to pay the bill and told them we had some comp credit in the ledger per the manager, 3 different waitresses gave me a "look" like they've never heard of such a thing, then the manager on duty did the same. They honored the comp credit but made me feel like an idiot. We won't be going back to Ruby's.

The family wanted brunch on our last day of vacation. SIL found Ruby's and we said why not?! Classic diner with all of the mementos, fun atmosphere. You have a choice of how to dine, stay in your car and have your meal delivered by a carhop, inside dining room or outside on the patio. They also have a counter to sit at inside. We chose to dine inside. When we walked in it was quiet with only a few other diners. By the time we left the place was filling up. We were greeted by a very friendly server who took our drink order and returned with them in a flash. SIL ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, daughter the Breakfast Burrito, hubs the Buttermilk Hot Cakes breakfast, and the 2 Egg breakfast for myself. The portions are huge! None of us were able to finish our meals! Everything was so good, service was incredible! Definitely a place to try!! I'm just sad we didn't find it on our first day of vacation!

Food was amazing as always, staff was great and location was good not too far from the freeway. I love Ruby's diner, it is a classic. My kids really enjoyed the different shakes that they offered. Their beignets were wonderful! Everything in the restaurant feels of that era and it is clean. When we walked in, there was a group of "the pink ladies" sitting in the corner, it was so cute!

Typical Rubys diner. Lots of fun filled indoor decor and friendly staff. Came here to pick up a few items to go (club sandwich and southwest fried chicken sandwich). My kids also got their Oreo milk shake and strawberry milkshake which were super yum. Had to wait awhile for staff to bring my order. Plenty of parking at this diner. Will be back here for dine in next time.

Great local diner in an historical building in the heart of the Anaheim historical areas. Easy access, electric car charging station, old style drive up service and great food. Plenty of parking, too. The food is a great family place to dine. Plenty to choose from or take out.

I've been a customer in the Anaheim location since 2013 I believe maybe longer. It's always been delicious the cherry coke is amazing. I get the cherry sprite and the classic burger. this place has a special place in my heart and will forever be a treat when I'm in the mood for a burger and cherry sprite. Service is always amazing never disappoints

My son and I visited mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Plenty of parking available in the parking lot even with the number of Tesla chargers out there. Acknowledged fairly quickly after walking in and seated shortly after that. Absolutely love the all-American diner vibe with the music to go with it. We chose Ruby's because they had breakfast all day. Learned that some breakfast items aren't available after 11:30am but they still offer a pretty big selection. I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast with scrambled eggs and ham. My son has the super burger with tater tots. Everything was exactly as expected. We also saw a Monday night special that offers 2 free regular shakes with the purchase of 2 burgers so we'll be back.

Yum and Yum!! I haven't eaten there for a while and so glad I went back! I looked over the menu and I couldn't decide since everything sounded good. I settled on the Classic Cheeseburger and fries. Can I tell you the food was everything I was hoping for. The burger was delicious, juicy and done perfectly! The fries were amazing! The seasoning was so good. I wanted more! The service was good. The servers were very nice and helpful. We sat on the patio since my friend had her dog with her. The patio is okay with dogs!! Just check in and let them know you have a dog and will sit on the patio... The restaurant was very nice and clean. If you don't know what to eat for dinner, I highly suggest you check out Ruby's Diner. Everything on the menu looks and sounds yummy! I don't think you will be disappointed.

Eat inside the diner or ordered food while charging through the QR code in the parking lot, really cool and convenient feature. Nice and clean diner with old school vibes. Great service and nice staff.

Got greeted and seated right away. We ordered chilli cheese fries as an appetizer, it's a big portion! Good for about 4 people. We ordered the hickory burger and it was delicious! The burger is huge! Overall, the service was on point(Sophie our waitress was great!), the diner is clean and well kept, and all of our food was fresh, hot and delicious.

Stopped in for a late lunch. We walked in together but went off to wash my granddaughter's hands. The hostess refused to seat my husband. Luckily a waiter came right up and took care of us. He gave us great service! Do NOT order the kids mac and cheese. Yuck!! It's like Kraft mac and cheese out of the box without sauce. The fried chicken sandwich was uninspired. Luckily, I left the chicken sauce off. Weird!! The club sandwich was good. Overall . . . Eh . . .

A lot has changed at Ruby's. The fries are now fatter and less crispy. The burgers seem shrunken. The available flavors of shakes has decreased. The service tonight was indifferent. The ambiance is still charming though we felt we were being rushed to leave. Would I recommend? No. It could be so much better.

The second my family and I walked in, we were greeted and sat. Immediately. Also, the second we got sat, they asked us what we wanted to drink. Literally perfect service. The vibes were immaculate. The details, down to the lights and the tile in the bathroom is perfect. It's updated 50's and I am so here for it. My little siblings also got toys to play with once they say, and were ecstatic. The host was the sweetest guy ever, and our waitress was so kind! The server outfits are also super cool, resembling the 50's waiter outfits. To my gluten-free foodies: they do have plenty of options, gluten free buns for burgers and gluten free English muffins, and have a FABULOUS Caesar salad with chicken (I should know, I got it lol). Tbh, the chicken Caesar with a Diet Coke was absolute perfection. The kids meals were a pretty darn good portion, and the burgers looked amazing, as my brother and parents got burgers. The service is amazing and overall, a perfect 5 stars. If you need to charge your Tesla or need a bite to eat, this 50's vibe diner is WELL worth your time and money!

Placed an order to go got home to find out and they didn't put buns on all three of my family's burger's I don't know who's smoking what at this location but how do you forget to put buns on a burger???the level of this incompetence is beyond comprehension...

While charging my Tesla I came in for egg Benedict breakfast here. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly and delicious. The restaurant is spacious and classic setting diner. Service is good although it takes awhile for your food comes out.

My 3 year old toddler had just fallen asleep in the car, I had a ton of groceries in the back, and being 4.5 months pregnant and starving but didn't want to get fast food from a drive thru, I remembered Ruby's was close to our new home. I read that they had drive-in service at this location so I eagerly parked near the entrance and waited for someone to come take my order... crickets... so I called the main line and Pieter answered to let me know they didn't actually have the staff to continue that service. I was sooooo bummed and was about to hang up when he asked where I parked and in what car. He brought out a menu and said he could do it to go for me. I almost wanted to cry tears of joy!!!! I ordered a BLTA w/ fries and a root beer float and let me tell you, BOMB! The bacon was so crispy and the sourdough bread was toasted with I think cheese on the outside?? Whatever it was, it was amazing & I devoured it pretty quickly! Thank you Pieter for being so amazing and helping a hungry mama out. Someone give him a raise please bc he's an angel! Will definitely be back to dine inside.

Hadn't been here in a while as it's a little out of the way but stopped here today to get some food to go. I'm sure there's an app where I could have ordered ahead, but I just went in and told the girl behind the register I wanted an order to go. She gave me a menu, waiting until I was ready, and took my order with no problem. She asked if I wanted some water while I waited, but then I decided to throw in a diet coke instead, which she got for me about a minute after I paid. In the days a cell phones, waiting just doesn't seem as long since I was playing a game, after checking in on Yelp of course. I ordered a milkshake with the 2 meals so when my food was brought out, she offered a drink holder for my 2 drinks. I love it when I don't have to ask for things like that. Sadly, traffic issues slowed me trip back home with the food, as the milkshake slowly melted in the 80+ degree hit coming through the front wind shield. Not even A/C is going to prevent that from happening. Getting home, the food was nicely packed and protected for the drive. Unfortunately, the fries also ended up only being lukewarm. Not Ruby's fault, just a matter of fact. The food was as I've expected over the years coming to Ruby's. Everything is getting pricey so expect to spend $20/person with a drink and a meal. Even so, this will always be my favorite Ruby's because of the historical nature of the building.

Ordered Chinese chicken salad. First one that has so much brussel sprouts in it. Little strange. Too much dressing maybe should put on side. Service person did not come around for any refills had to ask for one to go. Was disappointed

Came here last week for a millkshake. I had the chocolate chocolate chip shake and it was too chocolatey for me. I wish it had less fudge in it and less chocolate chips. I should have gone for a different one. Next time I will try the salted caramel shake or the chocolate shake. It was a good portion.

I recently went to ruby's diner for dinner last night and I had a fish and chips with coleslaw and tartar sauce and sprite. The chocolate cookie dough shakes are delicious and I miss the confetti cake shakes. They even got a Tesla charger for parking lot. The service is great to give us time to look at the menus. The one thing I miss is the fried shrimp in cocktail sauce as it's not on the menu anymore. On the other hand, I should probably try tater tot's, impossible burger, and onion rings next. Lastly, I would like to stop by again.

Ruby's hasn't changed! I love the classic diner feel that ruby's has, it's theme and quality has been maintained over the years. While other restaurants change to keep up with the times, I love that Ruby's is just as I remember it growing up. Their burgers are delicious and are sure to satisfy your cravings, their sides are always fresh too. On our last visit we tried the chili fries, yum! Their staff is always welcoming and attentive, we really enjoy this location and visit monthly. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Ruby's holds a really special place in my heart because I grew up near one, which later closed. Now I go and visit the ones around the California Coast. This particular one is really nice inside, which wood floors and car themed decor. Really keeps the vintage vibe. I was really disappointed by the fries. I always get the basket of fries and was shocked when they came and were different! They used to be thin crispy fries. Now they're thick, still fluffy, but different. Also, our kids meal did not come in the folded classic car box as advertised, which was disappointing. Milkshakes were delicious as always. They give you the extra, so 1 order is basically 2 milkshakes.

Well the boys wanted to go to Ruby's diner after church services today. I ordered three pork sausage patties, scrambled eggs, harsh browns, and wheat toast. My server was a kind young lady, but my food was not cooked properly. The sausages were not raw and then I asked for the patties to be cooked longer because they were still pink. My boys was happy with their food but momma bear was not happy. Come on .... Who wants to eat burnt/hard over cooked eggs with potatoes and sausages not cooked ! What in the world. Sunday will still be perfect regardless if my breakfast was not! I will encourage chefs to prepare food like it was for themselves. Take pride in your work and this will keep the customers coming. Be kind to your waitresses! Ruby chefs deserves zero star for the food they prepared for me to eat. It's a No, thank you.

The food was great! A pleasant experience with a friendly staff! Stopping by on our way home from our vacation it was a nice brunch before we hit the road. The old school "diner vibe" was a pleasant surprise. We'll definitely be back one day!

We were hoping for a short wait time for breakfast on a Sunday. This was the spot. The ambiance is 1950s. Music is oldies from the 50s too. Thankfully. Our host was friendly, seemed a little shy. Our waitress was prompt and she went on her break so Thelma helped us afterward. She was accommodating, as I witnessed another guest complain and she was quick to fix the situation (he wanted a bigger booth). Our food was quick, hot, and presentable...and tasty. I enjoyed everything about our experience. Will be back when I'm in Anaheim again.

Good place for a burger and shakes/Malts. Always have loved Ruby's but since they closed the ones near the beach this is my go to. This one has a cute 50's diner inside, it's a little unique compared to the others around. It's close to Disneyland which makes it nice to go to after a day at the park. Food is always great as well as service. Shakes or malts, definitely order them vs as to go, you'll get twice the amount for the same cost. The only thing I found annoying is the parking. They have added a lot of Tesla parking/charging spots. Which can make it difficult to park when they are busy. Last time we came, there was not one Tesla parked or charging in the spots. There was however a mini van parked in the spots lol. And a Tesla was parked in a normal spot. The only reason I dropped this review to 3 stars.

Love the old timey feeling everytime I walk into this place almost feels like a time machine. From the look and feel of the restaurant to the music playing on the house speakers 50' dinner. Service is fast 5-8 mins from ordering the milk shake was on the table 6-8 mins after that food was being delivered

Stopped by ruby's diner as we waited for the car to charge. There's a lot of tesla chargers and this diner is conveniently located in the same plaza. When you walk in, you're greeted with the old fashion diner ambiance, along with the staff in old fashioned diner apparel, and it's refreshing to see. They have plenty of seating indoors and it looks like there's seating outdoors as well towards the back. The staff here are friendly. The food was okay. The menu is your typical diner menu - pancakes, breakfast meats, eggs, country fried steak, potatoes, etc. I got the really hungry breakfast plate which comes with eggs, 2 choices of meat, choice of biscuits & gravy or pancakes, and potatoes. I got my eggs over easy, the bacon and breakfast sausage, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. The eggs were perfectly made, the bacon and breakfast sausage were good - the sausages are not your typical sausage links (they're better here!), I was disappointed in the biscuits and gravy - the gravy was bland and barely had any sausage in it, and the hash browns made me sad ): I feel like hash browns are hard to mess up but unfortunately, mine were a rubbery-like texture and just not it. It's nice to have this diner to go to while waiting for the car to charge, but it's just another average diner spot.

I didn't take a picture because I was having a not so great evening. But my sister who deserved to get whatever she wanted for dinner happened to want a medium rare burger and even with the fancy downtown breweries and such, only Ruby's' had reviews mentioning customers were happy with specifics like that, and I happen to love their shakes, and it had been probably near a decade since we went there so we decided to give it a try in hopes that it wasn't too busy for dinner time. Luckily it wasn't. There was one couple ahead of us and then we were seated; but the bar was pretty tempting too. Our server was Javi and he was super sweet to laugh at our jokes and he was attentive. He missed the side of green beans we ordered, but that was for the best as we over ordered anyway. I have a Yelp coupon for a free itsy bitsy Sundae with check in so we used that first for a hot fudge sundae and I ordered my favorite chocolate, peanut butter, banana shake. I learned that next time I'd likely order a banana and pb shake with hot fudge as the chocolate. But it was still fun. We ordered the super burger with cheddar rather than the Swiss (preferences) and the burger was perfection. Only gripe was that it was too big to bite, but that's not too bad. I ordered the fish and chips and they were perfect as well! I loved the fries with skin and seasoned well. I don't like tartar sauce, but I loved this tartar sauce. LOVED. I didn't eat the coleslaw but I ordered it packaged to go on the side and it was done. There's a sign in the restroom that kids under 12 eat free after 4pm on Tuesdays and I think that's an amazing deal. Additionally, Monday has a 2 burger and 2 shake for $20 special (I think? Something like that...) I'd definitely go back. If I lived closer or happen to be in the area after 4pm on a Tuesday with my kids, I'd want to take them.

The food tasted very fresh. My apple feta salad was fantastic and my family loved their Impossible burgers. I really enjoyed the food and clean location.

I always order different salads to go . They give you a hefty amount actually enough for 2 people. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming when I pick up my order. Very convenient to go in while I'm charging my EV . The restaurant always looks clean and has that 50's theme

We stopped by this Ruby's location before heading back home to SD. There is plenty of parking, clean restaurant, nice atmosphere, good food & a friendly staff. The Ruby rings was a good starter, it wasn't too greasy like some places. The Sriracha Burger was decent, I couldn't really taste the Sriracha, but it still had a good flavor. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Thanks, Tice B. for the great service! Hopefully we'll visit again in the near future.

I love diners so I was excited to come here. We needed to charge our Tesla and this place is right next to the chargers. Patty melt with tots, chicken tender basket with fries, the ranch, chicken sauce. Everything was 10 out of 5. Great service as well. Our server looked like she was transported back to her teenage years when listening to the music, which maybe makes her enjoy her job even more since it probably makes her feel young again. Great time
