Our friends invited us out to dinner, for fellowshipping. They paid for our meals, so I don't know what they cost since there weren't any prices on the menu.
I had never eaten at a Ruby's restaurant before. So I was quite surprised to find there is even one in Shakopee.
Besides being comfortable, I enjoyed the ambiance right up to the art work displayed.
Our waitress was charming and very good at her job. We did have a half hour wait, but it was well worth it. Due to this and the art, I felt like I was in an English Pub. This is the closest I will ever get to be in that great country, one in my ancestry. As I said, the one thing, that was odd, is that there are no prices, on the menu. In all my time of eating out, 70 some years, I have never seen this before. Not even in high end restaurants.
Now I'll tell you about the food. After all, that is why we go to a restaurant, isn't it?
I ordered a salad and Fish and Chips. The salad was crisp and plenteous. The chips were seasoned just right and crispy. I received 3 large servings of fish, which was cooked to perfection, in my opinion. There was such an overabundance, I ended up bringing home a lot of my meal.
My husband ordered the Swiss Mushroom Burger and Onion Rings. He also couldn't finish his. I didn't want to see it go to waste. So, two days later, I ate the rest of it. It was juicy and delicious. The bun was crispy, on the top and soft on the inside. Now I don't, normally, like mushrooms, but they were even good.
One of our friends wanted to change one of the side dishes, and the waitress had no problems with that. You rarely see that happen. Actually, it is the first time I've seen it.
Due to the English ambiance, the great food and the exceptional service, I look forward to visiting there again. Maybe we could go there for our 32nd. Anniversary next year?
