The 9 Best Breakfast Spots In Downtown Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"If you had to fork over $100 at the door because the bouncer wasn’t a fan of your shoes or some other arbitrary thing that informs their decisions, then you probably don’t want to spend more than $15 on a styrofoam box full of so much food it barely closes. You can get that at Jamaica Corner, a casual Jamaican spot in Downtown. They’ve got the standards: curried goat, jerk chicken, and escovitch. But at this hour, you’re going to want the ackee and saltfish, which is good here and comes with boiled dumplings, fried plantains, and a boiled green banana. You will be full, and also probably have leftovers for whenever you eventually wake up." - ryan pfeffer

Must Try !!!! Saltfish and ackee is a beautiful balance of flavors and textures. The ackee, with its soft and creamy consistency, has a buttery taste that’s a bit like scrambled eggs but with a unique, slightly nutty flavor.

Had a bad day at the mechanic and googled Jamaican food . I had a nice tasty ackee and selfish and chatted w Ms Ruby while enjoying my meal. l had asked for a large and she promised the small would fill me , she was right !! If you want fair price with a taste of Papine - this is your answer . Wishing you more success !

Google
Mad disappointed. Opens at 7 am on Saturday. I called ahead and asked if they had kidneys. She said yes. 15 minutes later I go in 10:45 am. Ask for kidneys. She says they only have dumplings. Absolutely nothing else. So call ahead and be very very clear what you want and if they have it.

Food is always amazing store is always clean. It’s a Jamaican restaurant if they not rude the food won’t be good. Oxtail is phenomenal listen to me phenomenal! Curry chicken is always seasoned to perfection. No lunch specials after 2pm

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years! Their food is amazing but the workers are beyond rude and have really poor customer service skills. Because of how rude they are, I’ve stopped going. I called today to order fried chicken and rice and peas after haven’t been there in 6 months and guess what? The girl who answered the phone was so rude, I ended the call. Now they are 100% off my list. Though they have the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted, I rather take my money to Dutch Pot or any other Jamaican restaurant who knows how to respect their customers.

Yelp
I came in for a brown stew, rice & peas and my plate was full of rice with 3 pieces of chicken and no gravy at all. Seems like they just throw their food together without caring if the customer will be satisfied. I was instantly reminded of why I stopped coming here but I was hungry and in the area.

Yelp
So, the correct spelling of the restaurant's name is actually Ruby's Korner Jamaican Restaurant. I went there 2 weeks ago because I found out that they make Jerk Pork on Saturdays and even though it's a long drive for me, I figured I would go since it was the weekend. The young lady at the register was really nice and I ordered the Jerk Pork with Rice & Peas and Oxtail gravy. I wanted to also order the Stew Peas, but I don't like reheated Jamaican food, so I passed on ordering it that day. What I found unusual was that, not only did they put the gravy on the rice for me, but she also offered a little container of extra gravy to go....that is so unheard of, especially in the chain restaurants. I really enjoyed the food because there wasn't all fatty pieces of pork, which I know a lot of people like, but I would rather a mix of both. It was around $10 which is a good price for the portion that I got. There was a nice stream of customers who came in while I was there, and most seemed to be regulars. It was a really nice experience and I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
The chicken had no gravy or on the rice and the place was very dirty. I fully expected a rodent to run out. I threw it away. Sigh NEXT

Yelp
I always wait til Friday to order their Conch Soup. It's the best I've had so far . We also order often the oxtail and Rice&Peas , pretty good too. Customer service has gotten better over time but still got some good CONCH SOUP. Only fridays though...

Yelp
The service is deplorable and soooo rude. Many times I think about going there for food but when I consider ther service. I go elsewhere. Why are they also so rude and angry.

Yelp
This is not the type of place you go to for the ambiance, but the food is second to none. I always get the fried chicken with ox-tail gravy. By far the best I have ever had. I always leave full and satisfied.

Yelp
The food is really good but the costumer service wasn't so pleasant. Ordering for pick up It was really loud and she was talking low and after we put the order in she just hung up. I didn't get the chance to ask how much was the order? Or How long it would take?

Yelp
This place is a fake jamaican restaurant. Their jerk Chicken is from Walmart. While in line I witnessed the cook coming out the back with a box of those whole chicken that Walmart sells. I called after the discovery asking how they cook their jerk Chicken and the cashier lied I asked for a manager and they said they are out and will be back later and will call me. No one ever did. You cannot be from the island and don't see the difference. It's not fair to not get decent food from somewhere without lying to you. If I wanted Walmart chicken I would go there. Just a fake and so sad.
