When our 4 hour layover in Copenhagen yesterday turned into a 9 hour layover, we decided to make the most of it, and headed into the city center on what must be one of the world's most efficient metro systems. We were starving and after walking around for a bit, we stumbled across Rudo.
The restaurant has a hip and modern Scandinavian vibe with a friendly staff. The menu is an interesting mix of Italian and Danish food, and everything that we ate was incredible. The kale & egg salad had a wonderful tangy dressing, and the beef tartare with mushrooms was unique and mind-numbingly delicious. The vermouth mussels were pretty good, not amazing, although the sourdough bread for dipping was heaven. We weren't huge fans of the affogato, which was a bit measly, but the two local beers we had made up for it.
The bill was high for lunch ($80), but this was such a lucky find, and the food/ambience so impressive, that we didn't mind. We can't believe that the TripAdvisor rating is 2.5 (maybe because the place is new?), so we're happy to help Rudo out with its first 5-star Yelp review. Skål!
