Rudolph’s Bar-B-Que Closed - Eater Twin Cities

"Rudolph’s Bar-B-Que, a restaurant named for the silent movie heartthrob Rudolph Valentino, has closed as of yesterday. Open since 1975, it was a neighborhood institution in the Wedge neighborhood. The restaurant and bar featured tributes to the movie star in its decor. Recent construction projects and condo developments exacerbated parking issues, leading to the decision to close. It was owned by the Theros Restaurant Group, run by Jimmy Theros, who also owned the now-closed St. Clair Broiler." - Joy Summers

Worth to check out. I normally come during the HH and their drinks are at good price along with a decent burger for $6. Overall you may want to try food from a main menu because except burger everything else was ok. They also gave out coupons couple month ago and used them In Feb and got free aptz.

Easy to find right on Lyndale and Franklin parking can be tricky. Be there before 6 you can get happy hour specials

Classic BBQ joint. They have good food, decently-priced drinks, and an awesome happy hour. Courtney and Dave — two of the bartenders — are awesome!

Quiet on a Friday lunch. We were seated in an area where wait staff missed us for awhile, but they recovered with a free appetizer (corn bread). Disappointed to find it was over-baked/dry. But couldn't complain about something free. Rest of the meal and service from then on was terrific. Great lunch specials.

The ribs aren't very good and the restaurant is far too loud. The food came quickly, but not spaced out well at all, so our ribs were sitting getting cold while we weren't even half way through the appetizers (we weren't lollygagging, this doesn't happen elsewhere). The ribs didn't have much meat on them and cost much more than they were worth. The sauce is nice, though.

There's nothing wrong with the food at Rudolph. But it's not top tier. The brisket was good but a little less juicy than I like it. The St.Louis style ribs where a touch dry and not as needy as I like it. The hummus plate appetizer was fantastic. And I enjoyed the coleslaw. I go back

This happened to my family and me three weeks ago. I tried this place for the first and only time. I heard good things about this place so I gave it a chance. This is the worst mistake I've made since I moved to Minneapolis two years ago. I should have known to storm out of there when a saw a couple spiders in their bathroom. This isn't a delightful place one bit. Thanks to their food, I had to go see my doctor because of food poisoning. I was getting awful stomach aches. My doctor did her thing, and she agreed that it was food poisoning. This probably explains the food tasting disgusting. My family thought so too. I swear that they kept their food on the table for days, and I swear they rushed their cooking. At least, it seemed. I told the waiter about the food, but she didn't seem to phase her at all. She might as well have said "oh well" because that's what I heard in her tone. Stay away from this place!
