Came in for a quick bite and gas well ended up just getting gas. The young lady that opened the door for me was very courteous and welcoming thank you! After paying for my gas pumping I came back in to order some brisket. Not only was the gentleman rude but very disappointed in his attitude when I asked him if I could just get a brisket sandwich. I decided not to order and left. No reason to order food when people have NO customer service skills and serve with an attotude.

Forgot to get pictures of "before" so this is leftovers and empty plates. This place is amazing! The brisket and spicy chop is to die for. Beans and new potatoes are fantastic. Coleslaw and corn is above average. Pork ribs were great! Jalapeno chedder sausage was delicious. Sauces are quite tasty. This is true Texas BBQ that is affordable compared to those more uppity places.

5/3/25 This is our second time visiting this location and we were unfortunately very disappointed. :( maybe our food was more fresh and hot last time because it was curbside. But this time we ordered inside and ate at the restaurant and our baked potato was cold and undercooked/hard. We didn't like how our server was the one who fixed our potato because we didn't feel like that was clean/Sanitary with handling the money and assembling the food. We don't understand why the trays are dirty milkcrates...very expensive for such casual dining. Our ribs came on a single sheet of parchment and soaked through. No plate so it was difficult taking it out of the milk crate. The restrooms were unclean and well used. There are only two stalls and one is out of order. The other was occupied so we had to come back. When we came back it was occupied again and we had to wait about 4 minutes. We were disappointed but loved eating outside on the patio so that our doggy could join. ‐------------------------------- Curbside was easy- we ordered online. Highly suggest the potato- great value

Stop, drop, and roll right into Rudy's! Very casual and fun. Almost gave this five stars since the moist brisket is great, and the pulled pork and the sausages too. Only the smoked baby back ribs are a little too dry for me.

Google
Service is top notch! I got half bbq chicken, cream corn and banana pudding!. The chicken fell off the bone and was amazing, The creamed corn was not too heavy with the right amount of cheese sauce . Banana pudding was okay. Make sure you take some of their BBQ sauce and Sissy sauce both are really good !

Google
This BBQ place is surprisingly very good, especially for a chain restaurant. I ordered the brisket, creamed corn, and a baked potato, and each item exceeded my expectations. The brisket was the star of the meal—perfectly cooked, incredibly moist, and packed with rich, smoky flavor. It was seasoned so well that every bite was delicious. The creamed corn was another standout—creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness to complement the savory barbecue. The baked potato was a solid choice, rounding out the meal nicely. Overall, the quality of the food here was impressive, and it’s a place I’d definitely visit again for a satisfying BBQ experience.

Google
Bought a to go order for Mother’s Day. 150 dollars. Bbq with just beans for a side because potato salad was missed on a to go order. We won’t go all the way back to round rock for that one side and I wouldn’t go back another day to pick up potato salad. It’s a meal ruined on Mother’s Day. Do better Rudy’s

Carl Conn

Google
We had a Corp. order this morning. One of the favorites “Spicy Cops” is missing half the meat. This was consistent for all of these tacos. Not sure what happened this time.

Yelp
My all-time favorite BBQ place. It's cheaper than County Line, the staff are amazing and the food is always insanely great. They have large size sauce bottles now. This location doesn't have sawdust on the floor like the original and is a little less busy and easier to relax. My first and last stops in Texas are always to Rudy's. Unlike a lot of other places, one of the secrets of Rudy's is they cook the meat for three days, which is one of the reasons it's so much better than everything else. It's more responsibly priced and the sides are better. There's nothing better than eating Rudy's with a cold Texas beer. I guess another secret is that everything is better in Texas. They're owned by a family and aren't a giant corporation. I think another secret is that everyone who works at Rudy's is also a big fan, or now grew up eating it, so it's really a proud and special part of Texas. I have been to the Albuquerque location for full disclosure and it was also wonderful, with this being my third Rudy's location. The original location is the one on 183 / Research in Austin.

Yelp
We are in Austin with our soccer teams for a college showcase in Round Rock. We were on the hunt for a place that could accommodate all 44 of us for a post 8:00 PM dinner. One of our team managers called Rudy's and gave them a heads-up that we were hoping to come after our games. They said they appreciated the heads-up and were happy to serve us. As soon as we exited our van, the boys could smell the delicious BBQ smell and started salivating! Well, we were SUPER surprised to see the restaurant was attached to a gas station. Needless to say, we didn't set our expectations very high. Boy, were we wrong!! The employees were ready and waiting for us. We were going to put the whole bill on one tab and thought for sure we would be in line for hours. However, they had the ability to take orders at 4 different registers and then put all those orders onto one final tab - AMAZING!!! Each player, chaperone and manager put in their own order and it was served immediately. We all sat down at a spot in their spacious dining area and grubbed on the delicious BBQ dinners. We appreciated the self-serve area for drinks, sides and desserts. The menu had enough variety of meats and sandwiches for everyone to choose something to eat. Remarkably, we were in and out of the restaurant in an hour. Considering there were 44 of us, that was absolutely fantastic! Everyone thought their meals were delicious and the portion sizes were filling - even for 15-17 year old young men. The desserts were tasty and the sides were a perfect accompaniment to the BBQ meats. Thanks for accommodating us, Rudy's! We will definitely come back when our team comes again next year!

Yelp
I mean, stay whenever traveling in Texas. Rudy's country store provides huge portions with apple bread and a fun festival. Everything in Texas from Road Side barbecue joint. Even though it is a chain, they still provide high-quality barbecue at a reasonably affordable price without service and friendly staff. If brisket, enjoy the down home atmosphere and don't forget to get yourself a sweet tea

Yelp
I met my family at this Rudy's Texas Bar-B-Q location to celebrate a birthday. It was a long drive from South Austin for me. I have been to many Rudy's locations and this one had a nice unique footprint layout. It was very similar to the location on Loop 360. I liked it where it had the same Texas BBQ atmosphere and offerings except the menu was missing a few specialize meat choices. They did have prime rib. Parking here was a bit tight and suggest parking behind it, but like always a huge truck parked next to me. They also had dedicated spots for quick pickup. They had nice service here. I enjoyed a breakfast taco and some BBQ chicken. Both were delicious. The chicken had great flavor an the taco was Texas big. Normally I don't get to Rudy's early enough for breakfast tacos, so was excited a few were left. We sat in an enclosed patio separated from the indoor dining. Outside was a little chilly so having the BBQ pit fire kept things warm. However, there was a backdraft when the room filled with smoke. Luckily we were just about done eating. I smelled like I ate in the pit. Afterwards I took home a gallon of sweet tea and filled up my vehicle with Shell gas for the 45 minute ride back home.

Yelp
Absolutely disappointed in this place. We ordered breakfast tacos (10 tacos to go) and each had issues. Eggshell in our eggs with brisket tacos. When asked for no egg you can tell they added it then removed it instead of getting a new tortilla or making a new taco. Tacos barely full, and for the price that makes it so much worse. It was not worth the cost for these tacos to be barely full and the ingredients to not be good. Overall I am not impressed and very disappointed. The staff were super friendly when ordering and bringing our tacos to us so that side was good!

Yelp
GOOD BBQ, efficient service, plenty of tables to dine in, unique ambience (it's in a gas station). Brisket moist Brisket Hot Sausage Regular Sausage Pork Ribs Potato Salad Three Bean Salad Rudy's bbq sauce is spicy and tangy, soo good. Take some home! Some meats were more dry than usual hence the 4 stars. You can get a whole loaf of sliced bread with your order or less (like we did). Pickled jalapeños and pickles are available. A must do in Austin!

Yelp
Yum. My go to for that BBQ fix! Fatty brisket is always so good and juicy. Love the creamed corn as well! I do think the potato salad has a touch too much mayonnaise but I would still order it. Nothing special about their Cole slaw.
google avatar

Jinna R.

Yelp
Rudy's is our favorite place to get breakfast tacos ! The inside of the restaurant/store gives you that country Texas vibe which I love and everyone is friendly; customers or staff alike. There are times when they have a long line but it moves quickly as their service is fast and efficient. We always come get their tacos for breakfast when we're out and about early. I love the fact that I can add anything (as many things as I want) to my breakfast tacos and my favorites in the taco are their chopped brisket (they also have spicy chopped), egg, potato (crispy with skin on), and bacon (thick-cut and crispy, yes please ). Ohh and don't forget to grab their ready-to-go green and red salsa and pico de gallo and bottle of orange juice. Now that's what I call a satisfying and delicious breakfast! This review is limited only to their breakfast tacos as we don't really go there for their bbq.

Yelp
We were craving for Texan bbq during our visit here and this place definitely hit the spot. We had to stand in line to place our order, the servers asked us if it was our first time and I said yes. He said I could try a sample if what I wanted. I tried out the jalapeño cheddar sausage and loved it hence ordered the sandwich. My husband ordered the 1/2 pound ribs and banana pudding along with some beer. The food was delicious and we ate it all in one go. The ambience was perfect and very Texan! Long wooden chairs for communal style eating. Overall great bbq place, we will definitely be back for more and will keep visiting everytime we visit Austin.

Yelp
What a lunch! The line moved so quickly I forgot to get dessert. It always smells terrific when you pull up. I love the smell of smoke as much as I love the bbq.
google avatar

Nitin N.

Yelp
I was here for team lunch, this was my first time at Dany's and the lady who was taking my order was so nice when she realize I was there for the first time she welcomed me with a smile and offered me some samples to try and explained me. Overall Food was really good. Just a quick tip if you want moist brisket which was yum and if you don't want burnt side then ask them in advance to clean it. Baby Ribs taste was really good. And don't forget to ask for their sampler for sausage if like it I tried their jalapeños cheddar one and it was really good.

Yelp
Rudy's is a Texas staple. If you love good BBQ or are looking for somewhere reliable. Their BBQ will never disappoint. If you want to feed a large group or just tear up some meat. This is the spot. My groups eyes were definitely larger than their stomachs. So keep in mind you can always go back and order more. So make sure you are able to enjoy all of their delicious meats and sides and don't forget about their dessert puddings.

Yelp
Really big restaurant attached to a shell gas station. Was confusing where the entrance was but figured it out. Big bbq menu with all the things you'd expect. Pulled pork sandwich was good but didn't really like the corn. Had to add some pepper but kernels were a little hard/stiff. The sauces were practically the same between the Rudy's sauce and the sissy sauce, I could tell a difference. I'd come back for the pork, not the sides.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
I know it's connected to a gas station, but it's not what you're imagining. This place is great! Our favorite bbq in Texas! Our kids love the hand washing station!
google avatar

Donnie D.

Yelp
Fast service, great bbq, the sides are always one of my favorites. The cream corn and whole potatoes are very yummy. You get plenty of your favorite cuts of brisket, turkey, sausage, ribs and more. It's a good place to sit and enjoy a meal with friends and or family and heck you might just meet new people with the way they have long been ch seating outside. It's just cool down home old county store atmosphere
google avatar

Marie G.

Yelp
I ordered from Rudy's on DoorDash. Asked for moist brisket and ribs. This is what I got. Dry, charred food. The manager or DoorDash would help me. They usually are pretty good.
google avatar

Sandra B.

Yelp
They let me down big time today. Placed my order at 9 this morning and scheduled for a 5:00 pick up. 35 minutes later I finally get my order and now guests are waiting in the driveway. Never order online. It would have been so much faster to go inside and place the order
google avatar

Anita W.

Yelp
Fantastic food Delicious and fast service and ample parking space. What more could you want from a Texas BBQ place? Love their delicious moist meat (there's 3 kinds to choose from), potato salad, cole slaw, chicken. Must have with their sauce!! Sauce comes in spicy or not spicy. Ample seating inside and there's the TO-GO option if you wanna enjoy your meats elsewhere. Love this place. Definitely coming back
google avatar

Chuck M.

Yelp
Maybe it was our fault for ordering the wrong thing. We had the loaded potatoes, one with pulled pork and one with chopped brisket. The meat was pretty good but the potatoes were well past there hold time, dry and cold. The counter girl was very nice and explained to us how the service model worked. Maybe we will give it another shot if we are in town.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Good atmosphere, nice place to hangout and have casual bbq. The patio room with the fire going is a superb place to sit with the smell of the fire and food. The bbq was good, particularly the moist brisket and the sausage. Some brisket was dry/tough and the ribs were average. Overall i would go back, cool spot.

Yelp
Wonderful!!! Everything from the ribs to the turkey to the sauce!!! We enjoyed it all!! Thank you & don't miss this place!!
google avatar

Jeremie T.

Yelp
BBQ here is pretty good. I hear good things about their breakfast tacos and I will most certainly try that next. The chicken I ordered was seasoned great and the bbq sauce is savory. Needed my sweet tooth fix and got the banana pudding, and oh my...taste of heaven for sure.
google avatar

Jeanna L.

Yelp
It may be a controversial topic in Texas as to where to find some of the best BBQ, but Rudy's Brisket has never done me wrong. The extra moist cut and coleslaw are some favorites, and don't forget the banana pudding. We like those little peppers, too, next to the onions and pickles. Our newest life hack is using the leftover brisket and peppers to make homeade breakfast tacos the next morning to really make the price worth it for a couple of meals. We love Rudy's and will keep coming back!

Yelp
A hidden gem for country food is what I would call this restaurant/store. I went into the gas station looking for some snacks to go, but then the cashier pointed me in the other direction, and who knew that it was connected to a country restaurant, haha. Anyways, I love checking out new places whether if it's a coffee shop, restaurant, museum, you name it. I had an awesome experience there. The atmosphere was welcoming, very clean, and well kept together. The southern hospitality here is impeccable. The menu was accessible, the food was delicious, and the customer service was great! I would definitely bring my family here some day. My close friends even the ones from out of town, I would take them here. It's giving off a very friendly, family oriented vibe. Great place to check out if you're in Round Rock!

Yelp
After grabbing a couple breakfast tacos a couple weeks back from a different location, the wife and I decided to hit them up for lunch. Now we all the know the BBQ craze in Texas is next level, with a lot of the higher priced joints catching the Craft BBQ title vs. BBQ....In my opinion it comes down to the type of meat used...basically you get what you pay for. Now Im not knocking this Rudys at all. It was very good and for an amazing value. Our platter was huge....Chopped Brisket, Pulled Pork, Moist and Lean Brisket, Pork Tenderloin, Turkey, BB Ribs, Jalapeno Sausage and the sides of course...Potatoes, cream corn and Pork Green Chili Stew. All the meats were a bit dry, but tasty....BB Ribs were old, not fresh and completely dried out and the Stew was lacking in Pork with just a couple of pieces. The corn and the potatoes were just like we remembered.... Still not a bad visit and fed us for a couple of day. Like I said before the value was fantastic being just under $90....and this is a typical order when we roll up on a new joint, but the price tag is usually 50-60$ more for the same amount of food....Its a great Bargain BBQ joint.

Yelp
I love Rudy's! Their breakfast tacos are great, but going there for lunch and dinner is also a good time. Their BBQ sauce is a family fave.

Y M.

Yelp
I got the Giant baked potato with the moist brisket. It also comes with butter, cheese and sour cream. It does make for a very filling meal on its own. The only thing I did not like was the rub that they had on the outside of the potato, which was very spicy, at least for me, and I do not like spice. I tried my best to wipe off, as much as I could, off the potato skin, but it's kinda hard because it was stuffed. Don't know if they had an option where you can get a potato without the rub on it, because I was not asked.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Always great to come back and have a nice family dinner. Food was great. Service was quick and any questions we had they responded. Always a nice place to enjoy some BBQ with the family. This time around it was our first time trying the loaded potato. It was GREAT.

Yelp
Calling all meat lovers! This bbq/ convenient store in is very well known in the state of Texas. They are most famous for their barbecue sauce, which I might add is very delicious. Upon arrival you'll walk-through the convenient store first then make your way to the line for some wonderful BBQ. I will inform you that this place can get pretty busy weekdays and weekends mostly during dinner time. so just be prepared to wait a little bit. At the very front they have a round five or six employees helping maintain the line so your experience is much faster. They weigh the meat in front of you and will ask you how much bread you like(and they will give you a full loaf if asked for) Seating is indoor and outdoor with a covered patio. Great for large groups and extremely clean.
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
I am extremely excited and very glad to announce that this Rudy's location now offers the stuffed baked potato, and chopped sandwiches, as well as FREE Jalapeños !!! Finally !!!

Yelp
One of the best BBQ I've had. My sister who lives in Austin recommended this and now I want to visit here every time I come to Austin. For a family of 4, I ordered Togo: 1.3lb of baby back ribs, 1lb of moist brisket, quart size of cream corn and a large side of Cole slaw, but a quart would have been enough. I got the banana pudding too! My family devoured the food within mins. It was that good. I'd say my favorite is the brisket because it was tender, juicy and easy to eat. If you wanna get down and dirty - the baby back ribs are the way to go. They're so tender and meat easily falls off the bone! This is my second time here. The employees are nice, food is great, and I love it all. It really made my Texas experience memorable.

Houston H.

Yelp
Kennedy was the nicest employee that has ever helped me at rudys. she deserves a rise because had a smile on the whole time and talked some small talk and everything. she is what you want in an employee.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the places that I don't miss when I am visiting Austin. Ask for samples if you are not sure: they are very humble and generous with their samples. BRISKET, MOIST (1/2 LB.): my favourite of all the dishes there. The non moist version is okay. Spicy chops are the next best. My daughter loved the sausage (quite juicy). The jalapeño sausage is good too. Turkey was okay. Was not a fan of pork chops. Great customer service.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
I like Rudy's BBQ better than all others. I have had all of the best BBQs around Austin. The selection is good for both meats and sides. Despite usually having a wait there ya always a place to sit. The sauce is the best! They also have good deserts. Definitely don't miss Rudy's. The price is fair for what you get. Get food!
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Food was consistently good as usual. Tried the smoked Turkey breast for the first time and holy smokes it was amazing! The staff was friendly but seemed to be occupied by the games that were on tv instead of the job at hand. Had to remind them about drinks and bread, etc. not a big deal since it's not our first rodeo but if we we first timers I could see them missing out not knowing what to ask for.

Yelp
When I'm Texas, you do as Texans do ... eat bbq at a gas station! This food, AMAZING! We ordered the St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, brisket, new potatoes, beans, and the creamed corn. (They also don't charge for drinks, which was a nice surprise.) Everything was amazing! The ribs, it was so tender you didn't even need to bite it to have the meat fall off. The brisket had a beautiful and delicious smoke ring, it had an amazing Smokey flavor. The pulled pork was good, it was moist but didn't have as much smoke flavor to it as we were wanting. The new potatoes, you can NEVER go wrong with red potatoes and butter. They were amazing! The creamed corn was absolutely delicious, one of the best things about the meal! It's the best thing since sliced bread! It was creamy, had that sweetness from the corn, the perfect side to bbq. The baked beans had an amazing Smokey flavor, kind of like cowboy beans so it wasn't sweet. You know that bbq must be good when they give you wax paper as your plate. The bbq sauce (original) was good, it wasn't sweet but amazing, and had a nice peppery bite to it. The 'sissy sauce' was amazing, definitely a bit spicier. The original also had a bite to it. They offer you sliced bread if you want it with your meal. They even offer you pickles and onions on the side counter for you to get. When you walk in, you see the country store and right around the corner is where the magic happens. It was pretty packed when we got here, but they have lots of registers so we waited no more than 10 minutes (if even that.) After waiting in line, they'll take tour order and they'll get you your food right then and there. It was amazing. They even have a 'cutter cam', which is the best reality television anyone can have, where you watch the guys cut the meat that come right out of the oven. It was absolutely amazing eating here, everything from the wax paper as your plate, to the margarita bottles as the bbq sauce containers, to the smoke ring on the food! It isn't that expensive for this good of a bbq place, especially in Texas! Definitely a must have stop place when traveling through Round Rock! We'll definitely be eating here every chance we get!

Yelp
Came here for a coworkers birthday during lunch rush! There wasn't a lot of customers so it was pretty much chill. It was my first time here, so I got to sample everything. Woohoo! I ordered the moist brisket, spicy chopped, and creamed corn. It was actually on the pricy side, which I was disappointed about. $32 for all of that?? Other restaurants in the area do half the price with more sides and bigger meat portions! I explained to the cashier that I was hard of hearing, but he didn't adjust his vocal levels. I was just confused the entire time he was explaining things. I ended up just copying my coworkers. Everything was clean and self explanatory for the most part.... I just wish it were more HoH/deaf friendly

Yelp
Great food! Staff on top of things. Helpful. They solve any little problem with a smile. They are greattt

Yelp
Things have changed and the once mighty and wonderful Rudy's is now nothing but a memory. Several months ago the Austin area Rudy's were reportedly sold and now you can see a few cost saving measures that have been put in place that have changed the dining experience. First, the drink cups. The wonderful plastic cups have been replaced with the styrofoam variety - just not the same Second - the meat. Maybe it was just me, but the turkey, brisket and St. Louis rib all tasted off. The turkey was not as lean and tasted a little heavier and granier than previous visits. Both the rib and brisket, were not as flavorful and were more fatty than in the past. Third - the sauce. Thank goodness they have kept the original sauce- but they have added a "sissy sauce" - which is fine in and of itself, but given my experience with the flavoring on the meat being on the milder side - it is further evidence of trying to make things more mild. The bold flavors were always one of the calling cards of Rudy's - but that appears to be shifting. Lastly, The placemat. For old time patrons, we all remember The cashier putting a piece of butcher paper in the carrier for each person in the party, to serve as a placemat when you go to the table. This trip, no placemat... Let the carrier liner serve in that role. Not that big a deal, but still a penny pinching shift. Combined with the fact that the bread was just thrown into the carrier rather than wrapped in the thin plastic paper used to pick the bread from the package.. Everything was a little off- quality down. I may try again in a few weeks-
google avatar

Carol C.

Yelp
Have ate there many many time, but to was the worst. I always ask for lean meat. If I eat meat has to be lean. Today had more fat then meat and the taste was like no taste. Ribs that maybe just cooked but not all the way with no favor, none. My partner said they were worst they had. Potato salad and cold slaw was fabulous. But when you pay all this money your meat should be Texas tasting. We were truly unhappy and we could not even order tea. We don't eat bread, we tell them each time NO bread, but they always put it in there, what a waste.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of eating Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q at a friends place when we were in the Austin area last week. They ordered some barbecue from Rudy's. Barbecue was all good! Hot Links were delish with just enough kick. Pork Ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Brisket was tender and yummy especially with their own barbecue sauce. Even the Banana Pudding for dessert was nice. It was our first time having some Texas barbecue, and we were not disappointed.

David T.

Yelp
Service was great and very friendly. Unfortunately the "moist" brisket was actually a bit dry and burnt in places. The brisket here in prior visits was always moist and melt-in-your-mouth tender; maybe it was just an off day for the pit master today.

Yelp
I've only had their brisket a couple of times but was not impressed... I always wonder why to go through all that trouble and time to then serve the meat on cheap white sandwich bread. However, their breakfast tacos are really good and we like them even better because they have non-meat alternatives. Their salsa is really good too! Good choice for breakfast

Yelp
Great food and great people. Wifey and I tried everything and made sure we got some peach cobbler so glad we did. Will be back meeting in town

Yelp
The food and service are remarkably the best. We have ordered for a few family functions and I have not been disappointed. They always have my order correct.

Yelp
The Barbecue was delicious. The line was long, but the staff moved very quickly and I got my food quicker than expected.

Yelp
B*A*N*A*N*A - what have we got - Banana Pudding!!!! This place has the most amazing BBQ food and sides. Now I'm a Brit not a Texan so I am not a fully fledged influencer when it comes to BBQ - but if you go here and don't like it let me know and I'll come and finish it off for you.

Yelp
I'm a Texan. And this place is a tourist trap. Who wants to eat lunch at 10:32am?!?! Not me!!! But that's the only choice you'll have here, because they abruptly stop serving breakfast and make you feel like a moron for asking politely about breakfast which was being served 120 seconds ago.

Yelp
Please expand your women's restrooms. Had to wait 10 min for two of your employees. Not right for customers . Thank you.

Yelp
Usually very good, but Just 4 stars for today. Brought home brisket which was VERY chewy, and baby back ribs that were dry. Not what we're used to as far as quality. This is a first, in the past it's always been awesome. They also forgot to pack the potato salad, but they did compensate us for that and the beans. They are really having an off night, I hope it's back to their normal quality next time we go.
