Rue

A french-inspired restaurant with a great selection of cocktails. We booked a table for dinner and shared several small dishes and drinks. I'd say the prices are more on expensive side for the amount of food you get. Highlight of the night for him: steak tartare (horseradish sauce and fries!), highlight of the night for her: asparagus in green garlic yogurt (oh my, that amazing balance between softness and crunchiness of the veggies!)

One of my favorite oyster spots. Their happy hour also has great prices on wine, and includes this chickpea panisse that's worth the visit.

Good quality ingredients and expertly crafted dishes. Nice decor and polite staff. The drinks were on the weak side and the pricing didn't seem inline with the portion size. The place was empty. There were a couple dishes I liked a lot but overall it wasn't a super memorable experience. I wouldn't seek this place out but wouldn't argue if someone else really wanted to go. Highlight dish was the new potatoes.

Rue is a nice restaurant, with a large variety of very high quality, contemporary, French-inspired food. the menu is small, and is rotated out regularly based on what's fresh and in-season. The focus here appears to be on quality and freshness. You'll find a few French classics on each menu (such as roasted sweetbreads), but the rest of the items tend to fuse other styles into something completely new. The staff are all incredibly friendly, fast, and competent. While not the best French food I've had in Portland, Rue's fare is better than most.

Daaaamn! I'm a total sucker for legit cocktails and thoughtful dishes and Rue nails both. The food is both beautiful and tasty; the cocktails are simple and not-overdone like most these days. The ambiance is welcoming and friendly, really nice staff. The interior is rad - I think my favorite was the Burt Reynolds painting on black velvet! #protip: the menu changes often but if they have it, make sure to get their lavender roasted carrots and the grass-fed tenderloin, you can thank me later :) Oh, and the Two Princes was a perfect light summer cocktail.

Excellent food and wine list. Service is swift and accommodating.

A casual French bistro with a small menu and a full bar. Nice staff and atmosphere.

French themed bar/restaurant with a really enjoyable happy hour. Not all the items on the menu are knock outs but they are tasty, creative, and frenchy. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant with super tall ceilings and open layout. Staff is friendly and wants to help. A nice place to the finish the day
