Ruen Thai Restaurant

I had a great experience at this Thai restaurant. The Pad Kee Mao was outstanding. The flavors were bold and well balanced, and the spice level was absolutely perfect. Every bite was satisfying. I would definitely choose to dine in next time. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended.

I just had a biopsy done, and asked the medical staff if there was a Thai restaurant close. They all suggested Ruen. We love Thai food, so here we are. When we entered, we were greeted by a smiling lady, who showed us to a table. When we walked in, I commented to my hubby about how good it smells in here. Our server brought salads with the most delicious peanut sauce dressing, which I declared I could eat every day. After perusing the menu for a few minutes, we decided on what we wanted. I don't remember what mine was called, but I know it's number 12. I asked for it Thai hot, and our waitress asked if I was sure. Yes, I'm was. The dish was not spicy enough for me, but boy did it taste good! If I ever have to come to Roseville again, I will absolutely come here! I was chewing my way through my lunch when I remembered to take this picture. The lady who greeted us came by and asked how our lunch was. I told her that it wasn't spicy enough for me, but it has a great flavor. She brought out some pickled chilies, and some sort of red sauce. Those were slightly spicy. Apparently I have quite the tolerance for spicy food, and I'm not even mad about it. 😊 Update, a few days later. I neglected to get pictures of the beautiful in-house menu, but I did manage to get pictures of the paper menu. Go experience this lovely, welcoming little restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Very delicious food, with good service and good atmosphere.loved their green curry and red curry. Can’t remember the name of the fried rice, but it was delicious. Their mango sticky rice is to die for. Amazing taste!

Traveling for work sometimes has its perks. This is one of them. I found Ruen Thai by chance a few months ago and it’s a must stop for me now. At least once every trip. This trip was 3 out of 4 nights I was in town. The mango and pineapple curry dishes are exceptional. I asked for their recommendation for my last meal and it did not disappoint. The #64 was awesome. Besides the food being really good and getting a lot of it for a great price, the service is hard to beat. I was seated fast every time I’ve been in to eat. My drinks have always been full and the staff is all friendly and always smiling. Now I need to schedule another trip just to come back.

Ruen Thai is quite possibly my favorite Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand/Asia! (This is saying something because I’ve been to A LOT of Thai food restaurants as it’s my favorite cuisine.) The chicken Panang Curry was fresh and flavorful, and the mango coconut sticky rice was insanely delicious. Presentation of both dishes were beautiful (see photos below). If you’re deciding on Thai food in Sacramento- go here! The service is friendly and quick, and prices are reasonable also.

I love this place. The girls know my order every time I call. The food is amazing. My favorite order is Kow Pad Kra Pow. Basil fried rice with chicken. And Thai tea. Don’t skip the Thai tea it’s the best and I love when they add the flower to my straw. I feel spoiled every time.

Love the food here, everything’s to our liking!!! Big serving that’s great for sharing! We ordered 3 meals, one for each, added one appetizer and we ended up bringing home half of everything for dinner! Servers were friendly, too!

Great service, clean restaurant. Out of the 5 dishes that we ordered we ended up liking 3. The fresh spring rolls were pretty good and so was the green curry and also noddles. The pad Thai was pretty disgusting, soup definitely needed more flavor

My wife said this was our second time here. I believe her, though I couldn't remember that first time we had lunch at this restaurant. Lots of Siamese themed decor adorn the dining area but what we noticed was the absence of Thai royalty images usually spotted with Thai restaurants. This was a friend's birthday and we were treated to a bunch of munch. We started with DF Spring Rolls and Calamari. The Tom Yum and Mango Yellow Curry followed. The Pad Thai, Beef Stir Fry and Crab Fried Rice were our main dishes and we were all full with leftovers to-go after. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was commendable even though they were at capacity. Now, I'm dreaming of that creamy mango yellow curry dish.

Delicious, friendly prompt service and nice decore. Came with my foodie 17 year old son and the food was scrumptious. We ordered chicken Jungle Curry with coconut milk, pad si Ew with Chicken noodles, Gai Satay appetizer, and Jasmine Tea. My favorite was the Curry. One order is able to feed 2 people or if you order more food can feed 3 -4 people. We had left overs to feed 2 more people. My son loved the noodles. Definitely give this place a try if you are in Roseville area. I loved the wood wall panels and designs all around. Food look so great I forgot to take pictures of our dishes but they were all delicious.

DELICIOUS food, fair prices, and big portions. Tell me, what is not to love about that? Hubby and i came here on a Thursday night that was rainy and cold. We ordered takeout of the following: - Yellow curry (chicken) with crispy noodles - Pad thai (beef) - Pad see ew (beef) - Kow Pad Ka Prow (thai basil fried rice with chicken + beef) - side of jasmine rice Literally everything was fantastic. Our favorite was the yellow curry and fried rice, followed by pad see ew, and lastly the pad thai (we found the pad thai noodles to be similar in shape as spaghetti...which was weird to us). The yellow curry was creamy and savory, the potatoes were not too soft nor too hard, and the chicken slices were tender and flavorful. The fried rice was awesome too. We ordered it with chicken + beef, and spice level of 4 (out of 5). The flavors were deep and complex. A nice contrast to the other dishes. The beef in the noodle dishes was tender, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned. I have tried other places where the beed is tough, or not well cooked. However, Ruen Thai knows their stuff and prepared it well! Service - Fast and friendly. I placed my order online and went to pick it up ~20 minutes later. The order was ready when i got there and there was no wait or anything. Ambiance - although i didn't eat at the restaurant, but noticed that the interior decor was very cozy and cute. The restaurant had a good number of people even tho it was a cold and rainy Thursday night. Its located in a small plaza with plenty of free parking. Wow wow so I failed ! I lived in this area for so long and I never came to this place. I'm sorry Ruen Thai! My friend said hey let's go have Thai and I'm like say less I'll drive ! He swore by this place and I'm like let's do I'm game. Well you walk in and it's decorated so nice and took me back to when I visited Thailand. The place is super clean and very well organized. The service was hospitable, friendly, and prompt. They would come by and ask how we are doing and it really felt nice and not pressured. They greeted you with smiles every time and even at the end asked if we needed boxes. They didn't just come and drop them off, they brought a cart and placed the leftovers for you in the containers. Totally next level hospitality right there. Let's talk food ok so I love pad Thai with chicken. This was so freaking good it made me sad that I'm leaving in a week, and won't be able to enjoy it more but I'll be back ! The spring rolls were a big hit my friend killed em then asked if I wanted some lol. The chicken skewers were outstanding. In all if you're in the area and in the mood for Thai food, stop here you won't be disappointed!

Have came here twice now and definitely doesn't disappoint. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Service is fast and friendly very attentive The food is amazing, best in the Roseville area. I love the green curry is delicious I finally tried the jungle curry which was an amazing burst of flavors and veggies. 5/5 I also gave the spaghetti lover a try and wow. Exceeded my expectations. Will be back again

Great Thai place in Roseville. The Tom yum soup, pumpkin curry and drunken noodles were excellent and priced fairly. The parking is very tight with several popular restraints in the area.

Just ordered take out from here. Will be the last time we dine here. Attached is my receipt and pics of the pineapple fried rice and beef entree. Very disappointed that they use ground beef. Inedible. Only good thing was the red curry. The pineapple fried rice had no flavor, no egg. This used to be our go-to place for Thai in the area.

They cookin up some great Thai food in this spot. Very nice inside, well decorated, comfortable seating. The waitresses are all very friendly and attentive. I started with the chicken skewers as an appetizer and the chicken was well seasoned, juicy, and the peanut sauce was delicious! Very tasty and refreshing Thai iced tea. The salmon panang curry was absolutely phenomenal!! Salmon was cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and tender melt in your mouth interior. The curry was just layers of flavor, you just get lost in the sauce, so warm and comforting. I had some fried banana with mango ice cream for dessert along with some mango sticky rice and both were a great end to a wonderful dinner.

Ruen Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Roseville/Rocklin/Lincoln area. When I am hungry after working out at my gym, this is the nearby restaurant that pops into mind first. I find myself craving either Pad Thai (rice noodles), Pad Thai Chaiya (crystal noodles), or Pad Ka Prow with Pork. I just love chewy noodles. Warning: Thai food is known for its spiciness. Curry can't help but be spicy. I always order the mildest 1 from a scale of 1 to 5. The Pad Thai Chaiya Noodles is still somewhat spicy even if you order level 1 or 2. If you love spicy, this place will be your jam. Lunch specials are available Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 3 PM. There are 25 choices! It comes with a small side salad with sweet peanut dressing. Assuming you are not ordering a noodle or fried rice dish, you get your choice of Jasmine White Rice or Brown Rice. Besides the lunch specials, I like ordering a sizable Small Bowl of Soup for $7.95. I was impressed with the amount of ingredients in the Crystal Noodle Soup (14), but I needed to season it. The Tom Kha Gai (11) is the traditional coconut soup with mushrooms, green onions, cilantro, lime juice, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, kalanga roots, and your choice of chicken, tofu, or vegetables (you can ask for a combo of all 3). The soup flavor is yummy and addictive, but I wish the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and kalanga roots were kept separate in a spice or seasoning sachet for easy removal because they were too hard and inedible to me. The chicken slices seemed overcooked, so I preferred the tofu and its texture. I probably would still order chicken in the future, though! I think a small bowl of soup with a bowl of rice might be the perfect bargain meal at Ruen Thai. The Thai Iced Coffee tastes like it has chocolate syrup. Apparently, Thai coffee naturally has a chocolate flavor. Unique, but I think I prefer Thai Iced Tea. I wish the rectangular lunch plates were bigger because I can't mix or combine my food without food falling off the plate. Service is fast and efficient. The restaurant has dark wood paneled walls with pretty Thai cultural decor. The restaurant stays cool in the summer with its AC and darkened environment. Give Ruen Thai a try! Roseville - went to teambuilding and had lunch at this place. Ambiance and service was great. First time trying Thai food- I had seafood curry soup and it was great ( though a lot of bell pepper). The taste of ginger coconut soup was great. Their thai coffee was okay but a bit sweet.

Service was great and the restaurant is beautiful. The food was not the best. I LOVE Thai and Laos food, and I have a few die hard go to's. We ordered the chicken satay, pad Thai and pineapple curry. The satay was delightful and the peanut sauce was creamy and full of flavor. That's where the good stops. The pad Thai noodles were over cooked and under seasoned except for the fish sauce which overpowered the entire flavor of the dish. The pineapple curry was mild of spice but not super flavorful. The chicken in the curry was clearly precooked and then added when the curry was compiled. It was unseasoned and overcooked with a rubbery texture. The jasmine rice was cooked correctly, but served cold. I'll be sticking to my go to Thai restaurant in Rocklin.

This is my favorite Thai food in the area. Pad kee mao, with beef medium and get the spicy peppers brought to the table. It's 2 meals. I eat it the next day heated up with a fried egg on top. And the to go container is labeled "noodles" so I know which one is mine. Love this place and that little cappuccino candy at the end is awesome.

Please note that if you find on the weekend you pay dinner price no matter what time you dine. They are able to notify some meals for vegan just ask. I liked that they cot the spice level right. My jungle curry was more like jungle soup as I ordered it without coconut milk. The big plus was the amount and variety of veggies that it came with.

This use to be my favorite Thai food place but the last two times I've visited the place I'm sad to say I was disappointed. I ordered the same exact dish every time and something was different. Lacked all the flavor and spice, tasteless and VERY VERY bland. I don't know what happened? Either the restaurant is under new management, changed cooks in the kitchen or cutting corners and short changing spices and ingredients. I'm sad to say that Ruen Thai is taken off the list of good places for me, time to find a new restaurant. I gave 3 stars for the service and clean restaurant, but they need to do something about the tasteless food.

Food was very good. We had 4 different entrees and appetizer, all very good. Generous portions. Great server. They really need to clean up the restroom though, especially floors :( !

The Ambiance: Casual clean Thai Restaurant The Service: Excellent- the waitress seated us immediately, was friendly and efficient. Boxed up our leftovers for us. The Food: Delicious! We ordered the Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodles) - mild since my husband doesn't like spicy! Still plenty of flavor. We also ordered the Rad Nar Mee Krob with pork, which has crispy egg noodles, vegetables and cashew nuts in a gravy that was so good! Can't wait to go back here for lunch or dinner again soon!

Best Thai food I have ever had. I have gone to this place a dozen of times. No matter how busy they are, the food always comes out fast. The service is great, they're also great at remembering your orders after a few visits. The classic pad Thai is amazing. I also really enjoyed their spring rolls. If you're going to do spicy, take note that even a 2 is really spicy. Overall, every single time I have eaten at this restaurant I have NEVER been let down. 10/10 amazing.

Delish food! Clean and timely service. Cozy little place I would definitely return to. The peanut sauce for dipping fresh rolls; I would recommend ordering extra. I wanted to start eating it with a spoon.

we had a party of over 10 people and we didn't have a reservation but we got seated right away as it wasn't busy at 7pm on a Thursday night. the staff were very friendly and we got our food pretty timely. we got a variety of food and i really enjoyed the tofu spring rolls. definitely recommend for some good thai food!

This place was GOOD! It was so busy when we went & we were still greeted and seated almost immediately. Everything we ordered was so delicious. It had all the right flavors we were craving. Staff is really nice & attentive. Definitely coming back!

Amazing place! The environment is amazing and authentic. The food is delicious. I've only had their drunken noodles but I've already been back twice in a row! I get a cold beer while I wait and these ladies make me feel welcomed. Great place and great prices.

As authentic as it gets. The meat was tender. Seasoned perfectly. Can't wait to return.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and they didn't disappoint. The interior decor was thought out and nicely done. The staff were very friendly but for having four waitresses it took them an oddly long time to recognize and seat us. I noticed that it was common as others after us had to wait too. The food was very good. We were craving Thai food so maybe that played into it but I enjoyed it. Even the leftovers the next day were good. The drink I ordered was awesome as well. It was from Sweden and it quickly became a favorite of mine. My wife did say the sauce needed to be thicker. It was a bit on the watery side. Overall, I'll come back for sure.

Quite expensive; HOWEVER, when I picked up I saw that the curries include about 3 servings per order. Wow! So that makes it a value. I'd likely add an extra rice to the order in future. I ordered a "medium" spice, but could've used a little more ;)

Great tasting food, but if you try to order on the phone, they won't answer If you try to order lunch online, the website only lets you order from the dinner menu. I keep keeping the message "Available only during lunch hours!" even if I order at 11:30 am or 12:00 pm

Only ever ordered to go from here, but they are always busy when you come inside. Order is always hot and correct, and so dang good! My number one go to Thai restaurant in Roseville. Obsessed with everything I've had from here so far, especially the pad se ew and crab fried rice. Can't go wrong with anything.

Got the pad woon sen, pad Thai and egg rolls. All of it was middling. ALMOST tasteless? The egg rolls had no flavor besides the dipping sauce. The pad woon sen was missing its charred smokiness. The pad Thai was absent something. Quantity is still worth the price. Service was still great. Ambiance was still nice and cozy. I just don't know what happened to the flavor?

One of the best Tom Kha soups I've ever had! Never eaten in the restaurant and always had delivery. Great curries and the soup is the best!

We got potstickers, pad Thai, fried rice w/pineapple and drunken noodles. Delicious! We love this place and the food is always consistent and tasty! FYI....spicy level 3 is real spicy!

Again. Another awesome trip here. This time I got the number 31 at a medium spicy. That and a Thai coffee. I'm in heaven. You can't go wrong eating here. We drive an hour just to come here to eat. What else can I say?

Solid and fast. Yes i've had better Thai, but this is close and hits the spot. Always get drunken noddles, pad thai, and a curry and they are consistent. Out of the three, the pad thai is average.

Delicious and friendly staff. Facilities are clean, restrooms well maintained and some of the best flavors, especially if you're looking for authentic meals. Truly feels like your visiting family

The service was top notch; we were immediately brought water with lemon and salads with a peanut dressing. We greatly enjoyed L16, pra-ram, and L-17, pad thai chaiya noodles. The peanut sauce on the pra-ram was the best I ever had. The flavors in the pad thai chaiya noodles were new, mysterious, and unique to me, and absolutely scrumptious. Both meals were lunch specials and we had enough leftover for dinner. Ambiance and decor was well done. We will definitely return when in this area. Not sure why they have 4 stars on yelp; this is a solid 5 star establishment.

Food is decent but for crying out loud, if you can't clean the tile floor in the bathroom, hire some service that can!

Love the chicken mango curry!!!! So much so that when I drive from Idaho to the Bay Area, I make this a stop and bring it with me!!! The staff are so nice and customize your order for spice/ onions-no onions. I know it seems simple but they have not once gotten it wrong!!!

The interior and customer service is a 5/5 from my experience. Very clean and was checked on frequently by my server. Pad Thai was a good serving size and plenty of protein. My dissatisfaction came from my Tom Kha soup. Ordered a large size, however their "large" looked like a small bowl of soup. Doesn't look small in my picture because my camera was very close to the bowl. For what you're paying it was disappointing. Mushrooms tasted like they could've been cooked a tad bit longer. Still had a strong dry mushroom taste. Other than that soup was good. Plaza is somewhat busy, but should be able to find parking. Overall my rating of this place is a 3.85/5. Which rounds up to a 4.

Good ambience and attentive service. Food is bland though. Pad Thai had a heavy orange sauce but not much mandarin flavor or any other flavor. Very little bean sprouts and peanuts. No other fresh herbs. Generally little flavor in the other dishes too. Yellow curry wasn't flavorful, just a lot of coloring. So little spices. Thai iced tea bland again. Strange after taste. I don't think I will be returning. There were 2 of us and the bill was close to $70 with our appetizers and entrees and drinks. Next time I will visit the other restaurants in the plaza.

Ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. They charged me $18 instead of the $16 listed online. Food was mid. I usually go across the street and after trying this pad Thai I'll continue to go across to My Thai Kitchen. Not horrible, but not great. Dry.

If you're looking for good, basic Thai food, Ruen is your place. The Pad Thai is good and has great flavor. One warning, be careful of the spice level. I love spicy food, but selecting level 3 out of 5 lit me up! Enjoy!

Same dish as last time, L17. $15 between 11am-3pm. Spice level 1, still good amount of spice and flavor. Consistently good! Came out quickly, and still steaming. Nice calm jazz music, attentive waitress. Will return!

They're generous with their portions. I ordered the Pad Thai and it lasted for 3 meals. It tasted great but for some reason had a bit of grittiness to it.

The food is always great. The service is prompt and friendly and the atmosphere is very Thai restaurant. We eat here about once per week.

The Yellow Curry here is exceptional!! Happy they are able to make it vegan so I plan on making this place a regular. Also not to mention you get so much curry!
