The Best Restaurants And Hotels In Copenhagen

"Bowls of creamy pasta, crispy guanciale, and shots of limoncello – Rufino is certainly not the place to go if you’re looking for something light. It is, however, one of the best restaurants to visit on an autumn evening in Copenhagen, when the hyggligt atmosphere of the cellar location really complements the kitchen’s comfort food. Rufino feels like it could tip over into a party at any point, and if you stop by, there’s a good chance that shots of limoncello will appear at the table, poured by the chef and served with a hand waving away any feeble protests. It’s a place that does a few things but does them extraordinarily well, with honorable mention going to the ragù and carbonara with guanciale." - sorcha mccrory

Great wine & amazing food, but shame about service…the pace slowly degraded as our course went on, and we waited over 30mins between 1st & 2nd pasta, as well as until…well, bill was served without desert. Yes it was Friday, but we felt so ignored and we had some other place to be after, so I asked for our bill and was hoping the waitress will then realise that desert hasn’t even been served, but we even had to make her realise that ourselves.. Our reservation was for 2.5hrs, we overstayed regardless due to the slow service and I don’t know what was “broken” but something just wasn’t working.. I would love to return, but strongly advise anyone to avoid busy Friday/Saturday services and definitely do not make any plans afterwards!

Food was incredible but the service let this place down. Waitress was pretty rude and we had to wait about 15 minutes to finally get asked if we wanted the bill / anything else. We must say though the food was amazing especially the tortellini.

One of the best Italian meals I have had outside of Italy. We had the asparagus, gnocchi and lamb tortellini which were all incredible. Highly recommend anyone visiting Copenhagen to come here!

Absolutely fantastic hidden gem in Copenhagen! I’ve been living in Copenhagen for the past 5 years and have eaten my way through most of the “must-try” spots in the city, this place truly exceeded my expectations. It’s a rustic Italian restaurant with incredible food and a cozy, relaxed vibe. We went for the set menu, and I’m so glad we did! every single dish was better than the last. You can really taste the love and quality in every bite. The service was warm and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for something authentic, delicious, and a bit off the beaten path!

Review of Rufino Osteria, Copenhagen Visiting Rufino Osteria in Copenhagen was like stepping into a cozy Italian nook, right in the heart of the city. I had the pleasure of dining with a former colleague, and we opted for the tasting menu, which promised a delightful culinary journey. Seated on high chairs at the bar, we were treated to an intimate and personal service that truly elevated the experience. The staff were attentive, making us feel like cherished guests throughout the evening. The tasting menu was a celebration of authentic Italian flavors with a subtle Danish twist. From the creamy Stracciatella with seasonal vegetables to the hearty Ribollita and Merluzzo, each dish was crafted with care. The Polpette alla Bolognese was a comforting nod to classic Italian cuisine, while the Tiramisú al Gianduia rounded off the meal with a sweet flourish. The wine pairing was thoughtfully curated, featuring an interesting Italian Pet-Nat, a natural rosé from Italy, and a red natural wine from France. While they complemented the meal well, they didn't quite reach the heights of being extraordinary. However, the Limoncello served with dessert was a delightful surprise, and the complimentary extra glass and a small grappa were a generous touch. In terms of the Copenhagen food scene, Rufino Osteria offers a very good meal, balancing price, quality, and atmosphere. It's not a place of fancy pretensions, but rather a spot where you can enjoy genuine Italian flavors in a relaxed setting. While I might not rush back immediately, it's certainly a place I'd consider revisiting for its warm service and solid culinary offerings.

Google
Amazing spot with delicious, authentic food! Every dish was packed with flavor and super fresh. Loved the asparagus starter, and the pasta was the best I’ve had in a looong time outside Italy. Friendly staff too—definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic meal here! We didn't get the set menu but we pretty much sampled the majority of the dishes. Loved everything from the starter to desserts. The pasta dishes are particularly outstanding with great texture and flavors. Definitely on-par with Italian food I had when I traveled through Italy. Got amazing selection of wines as well. Highly recommend. Would definitely return

Yelp
One of the best meals my husband and I have ever had. We stumbled upon this place and were so impressed. 10 stars. Cozy and authentic atmosphere, passionate waitstaff and chefs with great senses of humor. The tasting menu was perfectly curated, fresh, beautiful, diverse, and left us STUFFED and so happy. The flavors of everything were delicate but also exciting and punchy when they needed to be. Even the bread basket was THE BEST we have ever had. My advice to those going there is to taste everything with an open mind and don't go in with the expectation of spaghetti and meatballs. Allow yourself to experience Italian food differently. For those reviews upset with the pricing, the pricing absolutely 100% matches the quality and the effort. If anything, the price should be higher. Maybe because we are from California, we are used to the pricing but this would easily be a $100-125 USD tasting menu (~634-800 DKK).

Yelp
What a great experience! Cute little place with the kitchen as the focal point. We made a reso online and arrive early, the host sat us at a great table. The chick pea appetizer and meatballs were tasty, then my wife and I each shared two pasta dishes, each split into two servings by our awesome server. We had the house wine as tiramisu for dessert. The owner worked the room and stopped by the table. What we loved...each dish was presented by the staff as it hit the table with a summary of ingredients. My wife is Sicilian, so her standards are high and this place delivered. Be sure to make a reservation. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Apparently you need reservations here. A tiny hole in the wall restaurant, i came looking for a good tiramisu and was not disappointed at all. They seated me on the kitchen table where i could see the chefs at work. They explain what goes into the food when they serve it. They have a limited menu but every plate looked sumptuous. I would definitely have ordered the bread if I wasn't visiting solo. Food was top notch. The one star off is for the price overall

Yelp
An unforgettable dining experience. Groups of more than 5 get the tasting menu. We sat at a rustic wooden table and enjoyed plate after plate of carefully prepared Italian dishes and delicious wine, recommended by our server. Each dish was introduced in detail and with great pride. We were transported to the old country with great ambiance and delicious food... all the way to the tiramisu. I love the chalkboard: "No non-alcoholic beer" lol.

Yelp
Casual trattoria with medium sized portions. The red sauce was excellent the gnocchi not so much. They were pasty and the pesto was lacking zip. Service was fine.

Yelp
Service is condescending and snotty. Plus they upsell the wine so your bill is way more than it needs to be. Food is marginal. There are so b me any great places to eat in København, try Them instead!!

Yelp
unimpressed. first thing you see when you walk in is a chalkboard which spells out what they don't do. They left off provide good service. Not a good experience. Food is fine, but atmosphere is lacking and arrogance is in abundance.

Yelp
Authentic Italian food with a typical Roman twist in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. A vegetarian option is not always in the menu however, the staff is very accommodating and they tend to figure something out to satisfy different needs. The tiramisù with pistacchio is absolutely delicious, it must be tasted!

Yelp
Had a excellent diner with my two brother's and mother. We chose the mixed starters, which six small dishes ranging from good to absolute fantastic. I chose the gnocchi with musles, which was very good indeed. For the two days first courses we had an excellent white wine that the waiter and my brother (who fancy himself a bit of a wine buff) chose. Afterwards we had a second dish, which was rabbit. I haven't tried it before, so can't compare it. But it was great, tender and moist. We had a bottle of great red wine to wash the rabbit down. Afterwards we had a pistachio tiramisu with some very fine asti sparkling wine. To finish it all off the best limoncello I have tried, made from green lemons, made in amalfi. The service was excellent, would recommended to everyone.

Yelp
Easily one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Down to earth. Simple. Full of tradition.
