Ruhani cafe is a nice spot. Tea and coffee is quite good. Cozy area with some options for small groups and for seating oneself. Service is super friendly. Very modern look, nice outdoor area that is currently plain. Fun spot for a group.

Last Monday was soft and inviting—a perfect spring day in Brooklyn with breezy warmth that carried the scent of blossoms through the air. My friend and I ventured to Ruhani Café on Atlantic Avenue, lured by the promise of a quiet chai break and a tucked-away backyard oasis. What greeted us was pure serenity: stepping behind the café, we found a lush veranda of greenery—ivy-clad walls, hanging vines, and cozy bistro tables under delicate string lights. The space felt designed for slow afternoons: a gentle mix of shade and sunlight filtering through, low conversations drifting around, and the comforting hum of city life just beyond the walls. It truly felt like a secret garden in the middle of Brooklyn. We chose to stay and soak it all in. While the menu specializes in chai, we decided to try their signature blends: • Kesar Chai – beautifully aromatic, with saffron notes that felt regal and comforting • Doodh Patti – smooth, milky, and gently spiced in the traditional style • Pistachio Baklava – a crisp, honeyed square with vibrant green crunch and just the right level of sweetness • Tres Leches – tender, soaked sponge with a creamy, milky depth that somehow felt both light and indulgent The chai was crafted with care and elegance—each cup poured as though it were a ritual, highlighting the nuances of saffron, cardamom, and slow-steeped spices. The tres leches, in particular, was a revelation: moist, rich without heaviness, and utterly memorable. What made the experience even more special were the two baristas, Mahrukh and Yeliz—gracious, warm, and genuinely proud of their craft. Their kindness extended beyond service; they surprised us with a taste of their in-house saffron-pistachio-cardamom ice cream—an unexpected treat that encapsulated the delicate yet bold spirit of the café. Between the sunlit backyard, the thoughtfully prepared chai, and the generosity of Mahrukh and Yeliz, Ruhani Café became more than a stop—it was a moment of calm elegance. Perfect for an afternoon unwind or a slow chat with a friend.

Lovely owners and one whiff of the spices filling the cafe is enough to know it's going to be good. We really enjoyed the rose late, kesari Chai and homemade baklava. Definitely coming back to enjoy the patio on a sunny day.

There is a lot of baklava out there, you cannot beat homemade ones that pack the kind of bite that will leave you daydreaming for more. Paired with the fresh chai made to the order, you are in for a treat! Ruhani Cafe is a Brooklyn gem and definitely worth commuting to, if you are outside of the neighborhood. Not too many cafes in NYC provide relaxing, calming environments alongside good eats.

They have the best matcha and ice cream (the baklava ice cream is phenomenal, i got to try all the flavors and they were all a 10/10). the staff were so welcoming and kind. Thank you Sha and Yeliz for such an amazing time! I’ll be back soon :)

Google
Ruhani Cafe in Brooklyn is honestly such a gem. I tried their Karak Chai and it was amazing and had just the right amount of cardamom. You can tell it’s made with care, and it’s probably the best chai I’ve had in New York City. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The vibe inside is cozy but modern, with a sleek cultural touch that feels really intentional. And their outdoor seating area is so peaceful and is perfect for sipping chai and just relaxing. If you’re into chai or just looking for a chill spot in Brooklyn with great service and even better drinks, Ruhani Cafe is 100% worth checking out.

Yelp
Came here for the chai, stayed for the ambiance, music, decor, and especially the strawberry tres leches cake. MUST TRY. the owner Shahnoor was very kind and accommodating, he made me a custom mango and lychee mojito refresher. AMAZING.

Yelp
5/5! You must check out this spot if you're in the area!! The chai is spot on and their Parmesan pastry was top notch. The vibe is great and I really like that they're open till late! Great to have it in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Cute and cozy with plenty of seating. When I walked in a lot people were coworking. They offer coffee, chai, refreshers, and some small bites. My dad and I ordered a masala chai and a rose chai, respectively. They seemed a little frazzled with the number of orders coming in but they used spices in a pan to make chai and it felt authentic.

Yelp
I was at this very recently opened chai spot (March 30th) earlier in the evening having passed by on the way home from a restaurant further down on Atlantic Ave. They were closing relatively soon so some of the pastries were not available (which wasn't necessary) and there was a handful of people here and a small number of tables. They specialize in chai but they also have a wide coffee menu as well as some interesting non chai/coffee drinks. The coffee menu is pretty standard while the chai menu consists of 5 different options for an 8 oz cup. The options include karak, masala, rose, kesar (saffron,) and doodh patti with the price ranging from $4.50 for the doodh patti to $6.50 for the kesar. There is also iced for a dollar extra which I presume is put in the larger coffee cups (as the cups for coffee go up to 16 oz.) The staff was friendly here and I asked for recommendations and after a short discussion, I went with the Karak Chai which was $5 plus tax so around $5.50 which was listed as a strong slow brewed milk tea with cardamom and cinnamon. They recommend one sugar which is my preference for chai anyway and it took around maybe 5-10 minutes or so to make. The other person working there said it was very hot which was expected so I waited a little while to drink. Karak means strong and by comparison to other chai I've had, the tea flavor was a bit stronger though it did have enough cardamom and cinnamon to balance out the strong tea. The milk (which they recommend regular or oat) was lighter than most chai and the sweetness was very light which was perfect for me. By comparison to other chai spots, I preferred the flavors here and I would go back for the saffron or rose next time I am in the area. It's definitely price here than the other chai in the area but I would more compare this to the specialty shops such as the Yemeni coffee houses and by comparison to them, the price is accurate. I hope they do well.

Yelp
Just down Fourth Avenue and Atlantic, this spot is very spacious and quiet, yet has a modern take on Indian chai. I tried the kasar chai and rose chai, both of which were delicious. I also sampled the baklava and rose trois lache; while they were sweet, they weren't overly sweet like other places, which I found to be a positive. The service was fast and efficient. I highly recommend skipping the nearby Dunkin' and Starbucks to try this place instead.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. Our host Shah makes an authentic chai that was so worth the wait. I don't recommend coming here if you wanna grab and go. This is a place to hang out like a Pasha!

Yelp
The best chai latte you'll ever have! All the chai is made to order and it's very aromatic. My go to order is the masala chai, iced and dirty. The cafe is fairly new with lots of seating and places to work from! I go here 2-3x a week, haven't gotten myself to try anything new because I love what I get!

Some of the most authentic desi chai I've had in New York and they have a beautiful space in the back as well!!

Yelp
They were so welcoming and helpful here. I had the matcha loaf and one of the specialty chais. Delicious.

Yelp
Ruhani Cafe is hands-down one of the coziest and most inviting spots in Brooklyn. Tucked away with a beautiful, surprisingly spacious backyard, it's the perfect place to unwind. We hosted a game night out back and it felt like a slice of community heaven. The food and drinks? Impeccable. I had the homemade beef patty--warm, flaky, and full of flavor--and the rose lavender refresher, which was the perfect balance of floral and refreshing. My friend tried the rose milk latte and couldn't stop raving about it. All the desserts are freshly made, and you can truly taste the care and quality in each item. The pistachio chocolate baklava? Unreal. What makes this place even more special is the service. The staff is incredibly warm, attentive, and kind. You can tell they really care about creating a great experience for every guest. A special shoutout to Shah, the owner--you can feel his passion and heart in every corner of the cafe. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome, and it's clear he's building more than just a business--he's building community. If you're looking for a chill vibe, incredible bites, and even better people--Ruhani Cafe is it. Will definitely be back (again and again).

Yelp
It's my first time coming and I am beyond impressed. Amazing pastries and staff. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Chai done right! I've personally never seen a cafe prepare masala chai on the stovetop with whole spices--it makes the difference! The indoor & outdoor atmospheres are cozy, the pastries are good and there's solid wifi. Happy to support this new place run by nice people!

Yelp
Real chai, with real spices, in a real chai pan. Just the way my grandmother makes it at home. The best in BK

Yelp
This is such a great spot. They have so many chai options that make me feel like my mom made it--truly authentic chai. It's a great study spot with multiple outlets and late hours.
