When you see a line, no English menus and not a word of English being spoken, a place has to be good, right? It was but not as good as our favorite, which is just another 5 minute walk down (Yong He Soy Milk King). You won't go wrong with Ruian's food flavors but you might go wrong with what you order lol!
When we got here on a Sunday morning, there was already a line to be seated inside. We quickly made the decision to get takeout and eat it in the garden just across the road. We had to use Google Lens and translate for the order paper and ordered the cold soy milk, pork chop egg pancake, rice ball with egg, the turnip cake, steamed buns with pork chops (instead of the dumplings that we wanted thanks to a slight mess up with the translation and our understanding). The food was quick to be assembled. We didn't get any sauces but I assume we would have if we had sat inside.
The cold soy milk was very nice and we have come to the conclusion that this is the version of soy milk we like. It was sweet unlike what we've had in certain hotels in Taipei. The carrot cake was delicious and remains one of our favorite things to eat! We also liked the egg pancake with the pork. The steamed bun with pork and the rice ball with egg were a little plain for us. The food was quite filling, which helped since we had to wait for another 4-5 hours for lunch.
From what we could see, seating was crowded and that line wasn't moving as fast as we would have liked. I would recommend coming here if you have already tried Yong He and want to go to a different breakfast place.
