Best Rooftop Bars and Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"Downtown Fairmont Hotel’s seventh-floor bar boasts an outdoor area that is also one of the best spots to gaze down upon Austin’s busiest districts. Watch the action in Downtown, Red River, and Rainey while dining and drinking al fresco. Expect refreshing and light dishes like scallop ceviche, oysters al pastor topped with charred pineapple, watermelon aguachile, and tuna tostadas, and tropical sips like a mangonada and a Hibiscus Breeze made with rose. Depending on the season, the hotel frequently turns the space into a pop-up bar, with recent events including a sports bar prime for football season and a tiki bar." - Darcie Duttweiler

The Best Hotel Bars in Austin

"The Fairmont is around the corner from Rainey Street, but for those who prefer to avoid the bar district’s chaos while still grabbing a drink, this Downtown hotel’s chic rooftop bar has it covered. The cocktail list is full of Latin and Caribbean flavors and ingredients. Popular libations include the Acapulco Breeze with sotol, blanco tequila, banana liqueur, lemon, cucumber, and prickly pear; and the Bird of Paradise with gin, mezcal, Cocchi Rosa, green chartreuse, orange, raspberry, and chocolate mole. Bar bites like chips and guacamole, ceviche, and tacos with suadero or carnitas are also available. Cigar enthusiasts can partake in the loaded cigar menu, too, which includes recommendations for spirits pairings." - Taylor Tobin

Hostess was pleasant and when I arrived for a drink with no reservation seated me on the patio with a lovely view. However it was a little cold as no heat lamps so moved inside. Inside has such lovely festive decor as a holiday pop up bar and great Christmas music. It really was a festive, fun atmosphere. Service was a little slow but my waitress Ava was lovely and friendly. Really enjoyed a happy hour holiday cocktail here and it really got me in the Christmas mood. Lovely place to go alone or with others for a festive drink, I would love to return and would definitely reccomend.

This bar opened on the day we stayed at the Fairmont. Apparently the theme changes according to their tastes several times a year. Yesterday it was a tiki bar. Today it’s an Austin soccer theme. The place is well appointed and decorated. There is plenty of seating inside and out with great views of downtown Austin. The staff were all friendly; service was fabulous! Extensive drink menu but expensive- it is a hotel bar of course! The bar is on the same floor as the pool which you can see from the bar. We had cocktails, then went to dinner somewhere else and came back for apres dinner drinks.. We love this bar; we will definitely be back! Apparently the Christmas theme is great.

I just wanted to leave a quick review regarding our experience this past weekend at Rules and Regs! We typically host team nights one day out of the week. We found this place on google and wanted to check it out for ourselves. So glad that we did! Our server Jairus was so awesome! The service was amazing, he was quick with the drinks and food and I just loved the energy he brought to our table. He was knowledgeable with the menu and helped us pick out some amazing cocktails. Our team will definitely be back in hopes to have Jairus as our server again.

I’ve been to this bar before, before they revamped it with all the Christmas decorations. It looks amazing the way they have it now, there are lights everywhere present boxes on the ceiling, and there’s music, which is in tune with a light show on the wall, pretty cool. We ordered three of the Christmas themed cocktail specials, they were all very delicious. They are very cute, very Instagramable, nice spot to come with friends or a cute date night. They have happy hour every day from 5 to 6 PM, just an hour where they have drinks 50% off. Highly recommend.

Went for the Xmas pop up THE UGLY SWEATER BAR and it was incredible. Great service. The hostess/ front desk really took care of me. Loved the experience. And great drinks.

The Broken Coconut has taken over Rules & Regs were themed for the Summer. The place has been decorated very nicely and special drinks created. I had a Frozé and was really good for the hot day we were having. The prices were high but good liquor was used. The staff was very cool and make us feel very welcomed, and the views of the city was specular.

Google
Great vIew, thorough staff, cute decor. While I won’t be rushing back, I can’t say that much was off. Just the bill, and no music on the patio. Otherwise, decor was super cute & we enjoyed the free prize machine & photo props. The only item that was considered safe for GF were the chicken wings. Our party had ordered a variety of dishes and in the end, we all agreed that the only thing worth getting for price and quantity were these delicious spicy honey glazed wings. All the specialty cocktails pre batched and most are made with grain spirits & syrups. I had to beg for them to make something fun with Tequila. It was a process. Bartender did a good job matching the tiki vibe with a special tequila concoction tho.

Great drinks. Great vibes. Got to drink my favorite bourbon and smoke cigars on the rooftop. Brandon and jazz we're awesome.

Yelp
This was great food and it was fresh ! This was the restaurant that was serving at the Fairmount Hotel (Austin), when I was at the poo. Food was brought to the pool area and I enjoyed it !

Yelp
Don't bother getting anything but a beer. The mixed drinks are extremely weak and watered down but they charge you like it's a real cocktail. Just get a beer so you know what you're getting without them watering it down. Don't get a margarita, they have it on tap so it's watered down. Don't get a spritzer. Don't get anything at the bar but a beer in a can they can't mess with. The atmosphere is otherwise fine. Food is meh. Expensive and unimpressive as you'd expect.

Yelp
The Fairmont hotel we were staying in had 3 bars, we looked into each and all three had some good and bad. This is the one we came to after dinner at Perry's. The place is nice, Lots of seating and they had these almost like Pod areas you could sit in with groups. They had outdoor seating on a patio overlooking the city but it was cold and we only went out there for a few minutes to see the view and take some pictures. The staff was great, all very friendly and fast but made the drinks well. They place never got super busy while we were there but it was never empty either. We spent the most time at this bar, the lobby bar had EVERY table reserved which was annoying and the other bar was sorta of an honor bar. SHANA SAYS: "It has a classy atmosphere and creative cocktail menu. The dessert was delicious and the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The outside seating area was HUGE and the bathroom very very clean. A mellow laid back vibe but I can see it becoming busier and lively in warmer months." Overall there was not much I could find to say look out for or maybe you wouldn't enjoy this. We were not here long but the dessert was very good and the drinks were unique, We try to go outside our normal comfort zone and while I don't think I will get the drinks I got again they were well made, it is purely my own taste in drinks that lowered the enjoyment. They were made perfectly, I had The Smoke Also Rises and Shana had the Rebellious Gecko with the dessert being Chocoflan. We had a few other drinks of various types straight and had a good end with some great pics on the balcony.

Yelp
This is a lovely bar at the top of The Fairmont Hotel. I attended Drag Brunch and had such a good time. I'm not sure how often they host a Brunch of Drag Queens, but this was so fun. Disclaimer: I haven't attended any other events, nor have I come here on a regular day. The queens were fun and funny. Usual lip synch performances, but with a few hilarious twists. I hadn't considered "What Does the Fox Say" as lip synch performance option, but there it was and it was fantastic. The day husband and I went it was gloomy and super overcast outside, so they closed off the pool area and had all the window/doors shut to keep the humidity out. I think I'd like to come back when the weather is better and see how much the vibes change. Staff is friendly and fast, the brunch was pretty good. I'd skip the Bloody Mary personally. The waffle is solid and the other cocktails are incredibly refreshing.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it was ultimately a disappointing experience. At least they validated parking. We wanted to go to a rooftop bar for the views, and even though the area had ample room and it was not that crowded, the views didn't seem to blow us away, lol. The appetizers/snacks available were limited as far as vegetarian options. We settled for chips and salsa, which were mediocre. For drinks, my friend wanted a rum and coke but apparently the waiter had a hard time understanding her, repeating "coconut" in trying to clarify what is normally a standard request in the alcohol world...we joked about it afterwards (she said her drink was oily? Lol!), but it still came off strange. Needless to say, we had to find another place for food and we stayed no more than an hour. Not to thrilled about this place so I don't plan to be back.

Yelp
During my recent visit to Rules & Regs on New Year's Eve, I was disappointed to find the place closed for a private event. The festive decorations looked great, creating a lively atmosphere that piqued my interest. While I understand the need for private events, it would have been helpful to know about the closure beforehand. I missed out on the chance to have a drink on New Year's Eve at Rules & Regs (went down to Fulton which was really festive too), but the decorations were appealing, and I plan to return soon. I just hope they haven't taken down the festive setup by then.

Yelp
Super disappointing... Everyone seems to confused and uninterested. They said they were out of two of the ten drinks they had... when we asked what was out so they could just substitute, he said he had no clue. When I asked how spicy something was, he said he had no clue. When we were waiting around for another round because we were already there, he was nowhere to be found. The service was super slow and when the drinks finally arrived, they were lame and uninspired. No creativity, no garnish...just throw some banana rum into an appropriative tiki glass from Temu and call it a day. Speaking of offensiveness and appropriation, it was kind of embarrassing how much of mockery they made of the Hawaiian culture. Just an icky experience all around.
google avatar

Yelp
One of our favorite go to spots to enjoy some cocktails and bites. Especially so the boyfriend can smoke his cigars on the patio area. The Salsa Quemada had a really good flavor. I love a charred salsa. The tacos were ok. I liked the Pork Belly Al Pastor more over the Suadero Tacos, but my only issue really is they are so tiny. I wish the tacos were larger for the price. Two tiny tacos for $10. But it might just be worth it for the ambiance and view of the city!

Yelp
I wish there were more stars to give them. Wow wow WOW the food is amazing . My husband and I both agree. Dogs? Smoking? Yes! Music? Yes! Chefs? Yes they must be! The food is unbelievable. My husband wants me to tell you "Every time I take a bite it's like there's a party in my mouth." Haha What else. The people are all very nice and everyone is chill and happy. The server is awesome -- very friendly and goes out of her way to get us things. There were a few drink girls that came out for us to sample the Patron Perectino Margarita and we sampled but oops then we got our regular sized Cinco de Mayo Margarita and the first sip was bitter. Haha ... So here we are, rooftop, and it is Cinco de Mayo. We highly recommend.

Yelp
We tried out Rules & Regs late after flying in for a conference. The open patio on the roof was beautiful overlooking Austin! The staff were super nice and we were able to relax and have a few drinks with salsa and guacamole apps. The apps were a little pricey but the view and atmosphere made it worth it!
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
I enjoyed trying brunch here! They have a vegan guacamole tostada that I really enjoyed. It was very flavorful and filling. We also had a delicious mock tail that our waitress recommended. The ambiance is super cute/trendy and service was awesome.

Yelp
We had a great experience at drag brunch here on a Sunday! The whole experience was amazing and the location is incredible with awesome views of the city. The drag queens were also (totes obvi) AMAZING. We did find that our seating was almost in the lobby, so I would encourage you to ask for an interior table close to the action if you book a resy. Also, the food was good but not lifechanging. Go for the awesome service, location, and drinks. They make a mean mimosa.

Yelp
A solid spot for a beverage. we were in town and I had been looking for a good sunset spot at one of the many rooftop bars and restaurants. The town was pretty booked but Rules & Regs wasn't as popular a spot so we were able to just show up. We road up the elevator and stepped out to the rooftop. It was nothing initially. The smell of the pool and kids running around the pool as the sun was setting. I believe there was a few spots to sit outside but we saddled up to the bar inside. it was a nice bar, with subtle lighting. The bar keep came up quickly and asked for our order. I ordered a little off the menu, and my gal ordered something they didn't have on the drink list at all. But he knew his drinks and made both quickly and on point. My Caucasian was tasting and her french75 was perfect. its by far not the most popular rooftop in Austin, but its a nice spot to stop in.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place more than I did. It's situated next to the pool area which is convenient. Nice bar and standard dining area w a larger patio/outdoor seating as well. My friend and I each tried a cocktail, the carne asada and the Birria tacos. The disappointment came from the portion sizes ratio to prices being charged. The drinks and food were almost half the size of what I would get elsewhere. Flavor wise the food was decent enough, I've had much better Birria tacos in Austin, more authentic ones. You do get the view of the pool right next to it. Overall It's a cute place to stop in for a quick drink or small bite to eat.

Yelp
Though it was unseasonably cold when we visited R&R--stopping us from dining outside on the 7th floor patio--we did spend a few moments enjoying the beautiful view. The handcrafted drinks were quite good, but the food (shrimp and ceviche) was delicious. An extra bonus on our visit was visiting the lounge in the downstairs lobby to catch live music. Very nice hotel.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Honestly, it's a pretty mediocre "rooftop" bar. Their drinks are incredibly overpriced and generic, and service was meh. The hostess barely looked in our direction when we asked for the restroom. I honestly have no idea why this place is serving cocktails for $16-19. Those are New York prices. For the quality of drinks, 7th floor views, and mediocre service, Rules & Regs is not worth it.
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
First time at Rules & Regs at one of my stays at the Fairmont. My friend and I came here for a late morning brunch. It's located on the 7th floor of the Fairmont, so easily accessible if you're a guest at the hotel. And since it's on the 7th floor, it has some amaaazing views of downtown Austin. The restaurant/bar is very large! They have seating to accommodate a ton of different party sizes. From long tables/booths to seated areas and table tops to bar seating and a huge outdoor patio with couches, tables, etc. Since it's October and freakin' BEAUTIFUL outside, we opted to sit on the patio which was a great choice. It was a Saturday morning, and surprisingly very chill. Only 1 or 2 other guests in the restaurant (I believe they're busier in the evenings for dinner). The server was very kind but also very slow. Considering there was only 2 other tables in the entire restauraunt, we expected the server to be a little more attentive. We had to ask him multiple times to take orders or get things. The food though was fantastic!! We ordered the roasted poblano queso (yum), the avocado tostada, and the eggs entomatadas and pork belly (SO YUM)!!! Would definitely come back during my stay at the Fairmont but would probably not come for a regular meal if I was not staying at the hotel.
google avatar

Moquita Q.

Yelp
Visit this place for the drinks and the sunset views! They are truly incredible! It's a great place for a date night or just a night out with friends. The staff was very friendly and the drink menu had a ton of options. They only use premium and high quality liquors and mixes for all of their drinks so it's totally worth it! Also, this place is reservation only! The bar is open but if you want a view of the sunset, you have to make a reservation.
google avatar

Jake H.

Yelp
Rules & Regs inside the Fairmont on the 7th floor by the pool has a great patio and view of downtown Austin. Went for drinks and snacks and enjoyed them all. The snack was salmon ceviche which was really good. I got it with tortilla chips which were much better than the chicharrones. Ceviche had great flavor and although it was pricey, I made a good choice. I also had to get the Mexican chocolate pavlova which is similar to a crunchy meringue. For my drink, I got the rebellious gecko which was very refresher. Server wasn't too attentive but he was new. Very relaxing vibe here. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Whitney B.

Yelp
Perfect night. Outdoors 7 stories up with view of downtown Austin. Hip and trendy. Highly recommend getting a drink and enjoying the view and spending time with those you live. Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Brunch was great! Drinks were good. We had a party of 15 on the patio outside. The French toast was my favorite
google avatar

Sonnet L.

Yelp
Staying at the hotel, ordered a Bandera salad from the pool. I was surprised to see the small amount of salad and no smoked chicken- upon further digging, found two bites of chicken at the bottom. On my way out, saw a waiter brought out the same salad to another patron with twice as much chicken on top of twice as much salad than what I got. Do they think people sitting by the pool should eat only half in order to look good in bikinis? Don't know what they put in the salad dressing, I have been dinking water for 3 hours afterwards and still feel thirsty.

Patricia R.

Yelp
Ity bity tiny taco if you wear your polka dot bikini!!!! Lol! So tacos at happy hour and menu are small taste good but not like supreme! Pastor good flavor literally pork belly slice 1" with small cubes pineapple and little piece of onion and saucer o is brisket but tasted like barbacoa. You are paying for the atmosphere casual dress ok flip flop ect...
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
The location is great and the view is amazing. It's the perfect spot for a before dinner cocktail or a night cap. I'm giving this spot three stars based off of our experience. Arriving 5 minutes after I received a text stating our table is ready, while also trying to call the place to inform them we would be late using the number given on the open table reservation link which no one answered... the hostess informed us for future reference we should call to let them know we are going to be late. Our waiter was phenomenal and took great care of us. However, we did order guacamole and it took about 45 minutes to come.
google avatar

Salma C.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful! I stayed at the hotel and I was very impressed with the service, the view and the food.. which was mouthwatering. Ordered the chips with guacamole and queso, and don't even get me started with the cheese fries; runny cheese, sour cream, cilantro, SUPER YUM. AND the best part they have frozen Rose, wayyy too good .
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
Amazing view of downtown. Makes you feel like you're in NYC. Really great guacamole and beef brisket tacos. Service wasn't the best but it was still a great time.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Incredible view reserve for later since the view is better after sun goes down. Great drinks. Menu is really limited wish they had more options but drinks are the best and views can't be beat. Since the Fairmont is further away from the rest of the city you get a really great view of the rest of the city.
google avatar

Anita L.

Yelp
Had heard about this "rooftop bar" in an online search for things to do around Austin, so of course I had to check this out. I was pretty disappointed with the experience. First off, even though the Fairmont has like 27 floors or something like that, Rules & Regs was located on the 7th. Far from being on the "rooftop." The view was nothing special - you just get to stare at the buildings across the way from your seat on the lounge chair. If you look down, sure you see some streetlights, but you're looking at sleepy streets, not hustling and bustling city streets. I ordered a moscow mule here and my drink was super gingery. Not bad necessarily, just unexpected. The food options did look decent although we were coming from dinner so weren't hungry.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
While staying at the Fairmont, we saw that there was a rooftop pool and bar so OF COURSE we had to check it out. The bar is located on the 7th floor and has a beautiful view of the city! It faces the gorgeous pool and has open windows and garage style doors to be able to enjoy the sometimes nice Austin weather. We ordered 2 beers and an order of "dirty fries" that were a great snack while we planned our evening in Austin. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice and casual during the 5pm time we were there. I'm sure this bar turns into a much nicer place once it gets dark. Next time I'm in Austin and staying at the Fairmont, I will be sure to check out this place again.

Yelp
Views and SERVICE!!!! What a great spot to soak up our beautiful city. Alif is the only server we will sit with. His service is not only 5 stat it is truly GENUINE! The service Industry in Austin is suffering yet Alif is happy to serve and deliver the best service. Thank you for being you and so genuine. We will forever follow you wherever the season takes you!!!

Yelp
I was skeptical because it wasn't busy, but the two brunch items we had were incredibly delicious. The chicken with mole was amazing, so tender, smoky in a subtle way and slightly sweet. Generous portions. My husband had the egg with an amazing slab of fork tender pork belly in a tasty sauce. Wish I tried it earlier in my stay at the Fairmont.
google avatar

Justin W.

Yelp
Many positives include the view of the Austin skyline (especially in the evening), the drinks, and the food. The atmosphere and interior design is bright, intimate, and relaxing. The only downside is the extremely slow service from the waitstaff! Thankfully there is a great view (if dining on the deck). I am assuming they are understaffed because someone should not wait a total of ONE HOUR (not exaggerating) from the time they sit down until the time they receive their order of chips and guacamole.
google avatar

Mazen A.

Yelp
Great view and good vibe. Drinks middling and service was slow .Worth checking out for the ambience but the draw ends there
google avatar

Yelp
It was an amazing experience from begging to end, the hostess was attentive and very polite, our server, De Marcus, was able to guide us through the birthday celebration. I came to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and they went above and beyond! The view was stunning, the drinks were delicious and the food was delish!

Yelp
We came here for the Halloween bingo drag brunch. That was so much fun and that part gets 5 stars. However if I was to do this again I would eat elsewhere and just have drinks. I had the pork pozole which was a verde, I don't recall it saying if it was verde or rojo which I prefer but no biggie. It just lacked any flavor or salt. I never salt my food and had to hunt down salt and literally salt every bite because it was so bland. The guacamole was also the blandest guacamole I've ever had. You'd also think for the price they would heat the chips but you would be mistaken. Now onto the coffee. It is brunch after all and some of us need to warm up and wake up. Asked for half & half and was brought skim milk. Gross. What is the purpose? All it does is make your coffee cold with a weird color. So I asked for the cream. My friend asked for a hot coffee with Bailey's. Manager brought over iced coffee with Bailey's and we told him. So he went to get another one but said we could have the drink. Meanwhile I'm still waiting on cream my coffee is getting cold. And I'm not kidding. I finally got cream but told them I was going to need a new hot coffee and sugar. This is like 20 minutes later. I make the long trek to use the restroom and on my way back I asked bartender for sugar. No sugar behind bar so yet another person has to hunt down sugar. Anyway coffee is cold so never mind. Btw we got there at 10:45 and were done eating way before bingo started and it got busy. And it wasn't like the service was bad, we had like every server at one point but not one could find cream or sugar. They also tried to charge us for the coffee drink they messed up and 3 other coffees. They took off bill but shouldn't have even had to ask. So booze and bingo is your winner for this place.

Yelp
Adelaide, our server, really stole the show today. Great service and attention to detail. Thank you!! I'm happy to report that despite initial slow service, the management team at the Fairmont and Rules & Reg have exceeded our expectations in service. The pool grounds and bar are beautiful. The drinks are refreshing and the view memorable. I ordered the guacamole from the adjacent restaurant and it was very fresh and delicious. Thank you go the staff for improving our experience.

Yelp
Service was not as good as my first visit. For my birthday and having spend over $1000 on dinks and food, I would of expected our server to be a little more put together and attentive. We believe we were over charged on some items. We were here just 2 weeks ago and got the same drinks and same amount of drinks but some how our drinks came out to be more this time, price gouge because of the CMA Awards? My partner was a server for years and he feels theres something fishy with how we were charged. The service was not worth what we paid. Our table stay crowded with dirty plates, dirty cups, just a dirty crowded table the entire visit to the point to where we had to start asking them to clear the table. I found myself clearing our table on my own. I had friends telling me to enjoy my time but it was hard with having a dirty table. We had came back to this place because the service was amazing the first time and then this happen. Overall not a great experience other then spending time with my friends. I don't recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a party of 5 or more, they seem frantic with large tables. Ready to charge a large group but don't want to work for it. I will not be returning any time soon unfortunately. 2 stars for the Food, drinks and good patio seating but over all experience, big thumbs down.

Yelp
I don't have much to say except - Cocktails. City view. Pool. Modern setting. Just come.

Yelp
The lobster roll and scallops tasted great. It was rather late with very few customers. Somehow, my server didn't spend much time on my table.

Yelp
This place has an amazing view!! The food was great and our server, Nick was super personable and friendly! The drinks were also made for Instagram. Service and drinks were fantastic!

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant and ambiance! My husband and I popped in here for lunch today while at a conference. Hubby got fish tacos and I ordered chicken tacos. OUT OF THIS WORLD! The bar tender was super friendly and knowledgeable and informed us that there is a different menu for dinner. We had a friend coming into town in the evening so we knew we would be back! We came back a few hours later and had some fabulous cocktails and more delicious food. Portion size really is more snack/appetizer size but it's great if you order a few dishes to share! When we were finishing up the chef came out and offered to share a brand new dish for us to try. A beautiful Ahi Tuna dish was served for us to try out and it did not disappoint! We are in town for a week and we plan to make several more visits to this restaurant before going back home!

Yelp
It was ok. Highly overpriced for the amount of portions they give. I ordered the guacamole and the beef tacos and one drink. $58was a bit expensive only not to be satisfied.

Yelp
Slow service. 20 minutes before we received chips and salsas...Then took my card because I wouldn't order alcohol. Have eaten there plenty of times and have never had that happen. Food drenched with grease.

Yelp
Extremely rude bartender here. After sitting at the bar (we had been there the night before and had a great time with a few drinks looking at the skyline), we were told by the bartender that "we didn't look like their kind of customer" and asked to leave "because you [we] looked like trouble." uhm - ok - rude.

Yelp
The drinks & ambiance were fantastic! The guac was perfect. However, menu was extremely small, service was poor, and the food was mid. Left overchanged and undersatisfied. Only come here for drinks and vibes! EPIC FAIL

Yelp
You know that at any Fairmont Hotel just ain't gonna be lousy. I love to smoke a cigar in the late afternoon and to my surprise I found the perfect perch for this occasion. The Rules and Regs bar at the Fairmont has a 7th floor patio that overlooks the city and there is a designated area that is smoke happy. I have posted a twilight image from my favorite table. You can get food served out on the patio as well. I love the Tuna Poke bowl. Rules and Regs is one of mine and my wife's favorite afternoon destinations in Austin.

Yelp
I just went to Rules & Regs since I'm staying at the Fairmont for the first time. I saw in the reviews the view is really nice so I wanted to try this place. BAD IDEA. I made a reservation online but I never got the text with the notification that the table was ready. When we approached the host she said she "forgot to text us." She sat us on a super dark table cause that was the only one available outside. I asked her if she was taking our drink order, but she said a server would be right over. We took pictures of the city lights and catch up with social media. The server NEVER came. I went to asked the bar tender if he could take my order. He told me with an attitude that it was not possible, but he sent a server. We gave our food and drink order. He delivered the drinks and the food, but he did not bring any silverware. We ate a super tiny $22 FLAVORLESS TUNA plate with our fingers and chips. Needless to say, we almost walked out of these place.
