My reviews are usually positive, and I always try to understand different situations before writing one, but honestly, this time I can’t just ignore what happened. The last time I came here, we paid $30 per person to get in, and I had to leave after like 20 minutes because it was impossible to walk or even breathe inside. I get that if you want more space you can get a VIP table, but it was so crowded that even those areas were packed with people almost on top of each other. I didn’t come back for months, but my friends invited me to the Halloween party on Friday, October 31st, and I decided to give it another chance. For the first time, I saw they were selling tickets online, so I thought maybe this time they’d control how many people got in. Big mistake. When we arrived, the place was already full, they scanned our tickets and we got stuck between the first two doors for like five minutes because there was literally no space left. Someone even said, “We’ll stop selling tickets in 10 minutes,” when they kept selling more while the place was already packed. They didn’t check IDs, didn’t do any security screening, nothing. Once I got inside, I instantly regretted it. You couldn’t move anywhere, and at one point someone started spraying pepper spray something that could’ve been avoided if they had proper security. People were coughing and struggling to breathe. This place seriously needs to get it together before something bad happens. There are underage people, drunk people, and zero control. If something ever goes wrong, it’s 100% on them.

I didn't eat here so wasn't sure what to rate them so gave them a five until I try the food I will change that or keep it the same just want that clarified. But the drinks are cool typical club stuff the vibe is cool not really my scene but I can see why people pay $20 (on Thursday) to get in, my taste is different so not really a big fan. Security does check I.d (saw people saying that they saw minors or whatever on previous reviews) haven't seen security get out of hand or anything. It's just like another club In my opinion (music, cool vibes, cool drink's) a lil pricey but honestly that's all clubs. The one thing I do respect is I didn't get an additional charge to my card some clubs do that not this one. So if you like Latin dance night clubs I recommend this place for you (Thursday night is the only time I went and I think that's the only night they do it not really sure). My friends love Latin night and they highly praise this location.

Went on a Sunday…second time trying this place! Rumba has dope music and the potential for a great atmosphere, the aesthetic of the place is refreshing with the lights and plants that line the walls and the modern vibe of the whole establishment is really nice…bonus for having clean open bathrooms as well. Another amazing point about this place is the music which they do very well…they could use better speakers for the outdoor sitting area but the song selection was on point! The problem for me is the food and service which is subpar at best. The menu could use an update both option wise and taste wise because there is not much to pic from even for a weekend specialty menu. Moreover, you would think that with such a small selection everything would taste amazing….however, that is definitely not the case. The guacamole is alright nothing note worthy. The wings, and jollof rice are pretty lackluster in preparation and flavor. I will say that the orange looking spicy sauce the wings come with is really good…tried to ask the name of the sauce and the waitress was clueless. (Hopefully y’all take note and make the sauces a flavor of wing somehow while also educating your servers on the menu) The chicken and waffles are also pretty basic in taste like you “should” have just made them at home especially considering the prices. The price should match the food or at least the flavor profile and it does not hit the mark. Regardless, like I said this place has so much potential so hopfully they kick it up a notch so we don’t lose this place…uptown needs a spot like this, but yall need to pick up the game! * drinks are decent I suppose but that shouldn’t be a challenge yall in uptown! *If I’m paying 17 dollars for 5 chicken wings then they better taste better Buffalo Wild Wings! *lose the flowers and glitz on the guacamole and add more guacamole, and maybe a more bountiful amount of chips for them! *the Jollof has been a bit “soggy” both times I been here and had it, find a new chef or recipe MN got plenty of aunties that can make Jollof! *the servers are cute at least….keep that up, but train them on customer service cause that’s what gonna get people! *prices on everything are to hefty for what your being served…again both drink and food wise!

On Saturday, October 25th, I decided to go to this nightclub for the first time, everything was fine at first, except that around 1 in the morning a friend decided to get up on a small stage that is in front of the DJ and that's when all the problems started, the security guy arrived with a very aggressive attitude to tell us that we couldn't get up on that place, only there was no sign that said it was prohibited to do so, even the DJ was encouraging my friend to keep dancing, the security guy started pushing us when we were walking outside and worst of all is that for no reason another security guy arrived and decided to spray me with pepper spray in the face, the truth is without a doubt a very bad experience, I well remember the face of the one who sprayed pepper spray on me and my report has already been made to the police, I just hope that the club collaborates with the security cameras, we weren't even drunk because we had plans the next morning. The general mode at the place is good and it's cheap, but that kind of attitude from the security personnel was not correct. They are there to control order, not to harm customers, and as I said, I was not attacking anyone.

Minors smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol on half a dance floor and security watching the dancers, I told a guard but he was more lost and in the end he did nothing, this is definitely disgusting administration you should have more control

After this visit, I'm convinced IG influencer are LYING!!! I was so excited to visit this place after seeing 3 of my favorite food influencer give this place 5 starts. My experience was far from 5 stars. My grandmother loves Mexican so I bought her for a celebration. The service was lacking! My grandma uses a walker and they sat us far from the door. The time it took to ask what we needed was crazy! Now don't get me wrong, this place looks so AMAZING! It seems made for Instagram! It is very photo shoot friendly. The food on the other hand is not good. I was looking forward to the salmon croquettes that all the influencers posted. They tasted like unflavored mush! The drinks were speedy and not so delicious. This is a place I don't see going back to any time soon.

Came here with a friend for Sunday Mimosa brunch and had an amazing time! The staff were attentive and so genuinely sweet, the ambiance beautiful with greenery, art work and culture, and the DJ spinning vibes on point! We ordered the mimosa flight and shrimp ceviche -- everything was delicious, and not over priced. We had so much fun, and literally nothing to complain about. We will definitely be back! I lived in New York City for years, and I am thrilled to find a little corner celebrating Afro-Latin culture in Minneapolis!

It was my first time going and it will probably be the last. One of the employees told me that I had to pay the entrance fee in cash. Never told me the amount so I took out $40 from the atm. I wasn’t for sure how much the entrance fee was so I gave the worker the $40 that I had just taken out thinking that I would get change back. Nothing. I told another employee working the front the situation and her response was, “well we have no way of proving that and why did you give her $40 in the first place?” Then the bartenders not giving me exact change either.

Yelp
Latin Lounge Uptown is a vibe! Latin flavors, tapas, cocktails, art décor, music and art even the circular bar is Ambiance 5/5 From tha Vibrant Rumba signage with palm tree that greets you to the circular bar and 2nd floor Instagram worthy photos, the décor is everything! That's not including the faux artistry which can be seen in the daytime. This place is a whole vibbbee! Great lighting, Latin music, and dancing. Service 4/5 Service was great, we were given a drink ticket, no cover for women, security, quick service from bartenders. Food/ Drink 4/5 Complimentary shots were nice, Sex on the Beach was subpar. About $15 It was premade Sex on the Beach drinks- kinda off putting. I hear they have Rumba has Afrobeat's on Sunday nights and great food! I have not tasted the food or Afrobeat's experienced - YET. I'd definitely return, we arrived a little early that night but it was still jumping.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere with live dj. Drinks were $18 a each; I was too cheap to try one as that's a meal. Beer was $8 according to menu however they only gave us $9 back in change from our $20. I kept trying to ask the bartender if there were any specials but not sure she understood me.

Yelp
Javier was our server and he provided a great service. Food was a bit pricey, but tasted delicious. Cocktails were $18 each.

Yelp
Online some of the other reviews, service was actually really pleasant. The guacamole was to die for and prob the best I've hand. Also, my family really enjoyed the tacos and lump cakes .the only grip I have is the vegetarian options. There's only One ( I did not try it) and did not seem appetizing. I would go back just for a cocktail and gauc but that's about it

Yelp
I can't stand bars that try to scam you by refusing to serve you tap water and instead want to force you to buy $5 bottled water. I came for a friend's birthday and never coming back. This pretty much ruined the whole experience for me, not recommended.

Yelp
Food was OK! Too expensive for it to be ok! Drinks were ok as well. I feel they're just a copy paste of another spot in town. ALSO IF YOU'RE LATINO LOOKING FOR LATINA MEXICAN FOOD?!! This is not that place. The waiter we got was nice! But. Took FOREVER to get him to come to our table.

Darren F.

Yelp
I wish there was a lower score than 1/5 stars cause this place should have 1/2 a star with the over price entrance and no pens allowed. Most of all DJ was Basura!!!! Drinks were also watered down just walk up the street and take yo behind to Reign instead

Yelp
Service was horrible. They said we could sit anywhere and when we sat down no body came and took our order . We had to physically get up and ask for a waiter after sitting for almost 30 minutes. Then I woke up or my sleep throwing up. Ran to the bathroom where I continued to throw up but this time I was throwing up out of both ends. Horrible service and mediocre food.

Yelp
Overpriced water downed sex on the beach and got charged a service fee when payed in cash and bad DJ.
